But interestingly, it wasn't for legend rule, but for the operationally similar Planeswalker Uniqueness rule.
People were using Jace Beleren as a kill-spell for Jace, the Mind Sculptor back in the Zendikar days, and WotC was unamused.

Think about it this way: an aggro deck might be btfo, or it might be able to keep swinging and not care much. You're not going to win the attrition war that midrane puts you in. Control and combo doesn't care. "Niche" decks like Burn have Skullcrack and ACommand to deal with that, so you might win some, you might lose some. Either way, I don't think it's worth a slot.
