Shamelessly ripped off from this.
>"After the war was America's golden age, when peace and prosperity reigned supreme and the might of the US was unchallenged. Alll was not well however. In the shadows, dark things plotted and schemed. The war came and all our nightmares were unchained. After the bombs, dark and hideous things were free to finally show themselves. "
Basically Fallout with Ray Bradbury, The Twilight Zone, Wicker Man, The Fog, EC Comics, The Blair Witch Project, and campfire stories mixed in to all the pulp and post-apocalyptic weirdness.

There's nothing dark and hideous out in the woods OP. I wouldn't worry about it.
The guy sending you messages on your pipboy wasn't who you thought he was, and has such plans for you
Looks good.
One of the most basic fears is fear of the unknown. To that end, remember that the weird mutants are just that. They're not stable species or ordinary animals, but unnatural mockeries of the world that was . No two should be exactly like , and an encounter with one should occasionally hold an unpleasant surprise. Each one should be it's own special nightmare. If your players feel safe camping in the open, you haven't done your job.
