I want to make a fun group of 'crons that really play up their "coming back to life" thing so that they can pull off some fun Tzeentch levels of "haha I was only pretending to be dead!" but I don't really know if they'd sync well with Chaos because of their whole not being alive thing. Warp Time is definitely good. Be aware that it can't hit Chaos Daemons, only Traitors.

Heldrake looks pretty good for being an insanely fast unit that can lock up something important in combat from t1 on. It flies over everything, moves across half the board, etc. It's also pretty hard to kill.

On the Chaos Daemons side of things, I think Slaanesh has a lot of potential. Fiends of Slaanesh seem overcosted, but you can summon one along side a giant unit of daemonettes and ensure that nothing can fall back out of your meat grinder. Speaking of Daemonettes are very very good.

No, it would not. Plasma specifically states "on a hit roll of 1". A +1 bonus does not change what you got on the roll, and as such does not affect plasma. Anything that happens on an X+ however, does benefit from bonuses.

For example, in T'au, Longstrike buffs the To-wound rolls of allied Hammerheads, which can affect the dealing of mortal wounds by the solid-shot railgun, as that occurs on a to-wound of 6+.

I didn't pay attention to Hellions, I don't own any.

But Reavers are 4+ sv and effectively Str 4 AP-1 in melee due to bladevanes which is sweet. 2W is also nice.

They also only got a marginal point increase and gained a lot of durability. Gotta remember that you can pick combat drugs now
so it helps them do exactly what you want them to. Probably going to be +1A or +1T.

You're better off with a swarmlord than putting a broodlord in a tyrannocyte. It'll get murdered too fast to pay 162 points.

Always take termagants in blobs of 30 with 15 devourers minimum, preferably 20-25 for the unit that's burrowing with the trygon. Pop up the try sideways and fit all of your devourers on the side closest to the enemy to get the unit in range of what it needs to be.

Zoanthropes aren't worth taking sadly. 160 points for a slightly upgraded smite and an ability to heal ONE wound a turn is pretty horrible. I wanted them to be better but they just aren't.

Harpy are a mixed bag. They mean good with strafing runs but won't last long at all.

Make the trygon a prime. Since you aren't deepstriking your synapse creature you need it to be one instead.

The rest of your list is good but you'll need a small unit of warriors to babysit your biovores/exocrine.

Zoanthropes are mediocre at best, and in a list like nids with heaps of good options they're pretty shit. Its like 2.4 mortal wounds per turn total, without the chance to leave minefields around the place. Broodlord benefits most from two blobs of stealers, tervigons can only replenish gants if they arent wiped out so squads of thirty are near-mandatory to prevent them focus-firing them down one at a time. The rest of the list is fine, but i feel that you're trying to split between close assault and midrange swarm and the overall synergy suffers for it-you're spending ~800 points on delivering one assaulty blob, one monster and a low-bs shooty pod, when you could run a full assault or a gunline capable of shooting down anything before it gets into range

From the shooting rules. A "roll of 1" is a fail regardless of modifiers. It makes sense then that the same goes for "a roll of X" compared to "a roll of X+" because of the possibility of ending up with a number not on a d6.

See, i have three main armies-Guard, Nids and Grey Knights, barring my stealer cult which is a mix of the two.

Guard, i can field over a hundred models comfortably in a 1k game. Swarm nids, around eighty with ease.

Nidzilla? Ten, with six being warriors. Grey Knights? 11. Eleven infantry models. The game is balanced with blobs vs blobs, and with elite vs elite, but for any army with a model advantage, its almost impossible to overcome.

Culexus is fantastic as always, guaranteed to fuck any psyker's shit up.
Callidus is pretty good with the new deepstrike, you're guaranteed to be able to at least fuck up 1 special snowflake squad thanks to the D6 + 3" rule.
Eversor is the one I'm not sure about, it seems mediocre at best although lots of people are memeing about spamming him. I'll have to test him on the battlefield to get a proper idea of it.

Cheap. Vindicare is mediocre, d3+1 wounds is trash even at his price. Eversor is 70 points and has better than 50% chance to make a turn 1 charge, has 8 attacks on the charge, and isnt unique. Callidus is also likely to pull off a turn 1 charge, and her sword denies invuln saves, making her great against just about everything. Culexus is, as always, insanely good at shutting down psychic bullshitery, but psykers have mostly been nerfed so he's now merely a good assassin instead of being better than all the others put together.

Also if what you were looking for was orange-metallic crons I don't know how well it would work but in theory you could use fuegan orange shade over a regularly painted warrior a few times and he'll have an orangish hue but still be metallic.
I tried to paint a purple Necrons and that's how I did it. I like the color but he came out too purple so I've just been using him to test colors on. I don't know if it would work with the fuegan orange tho as that wash seems a little brownish when applied en masse

On a 6+ it deals d6. That's decent. Considering he cuts -2 off of enemy hits rolls in cover, he's legitimately hard to kill in the shooting phase.

Plus his gun ignores invuln, so that damage is coming off of a soft-mortal wound.

Infiltrators had their Neurostatic Aura nerfed, lost their extra 3" when charging, but have the advantage of being able to infiltrate 9" away from an enemy so they can charge turn 1.

They can be ok but can be countered if your opponent deploys correctly. Though if they set up in such a way that a turn 1 charge might not result in you getting any good targets you can just have them arrive a turn or two later as needed.

Take a second detachment then, if you really want a bunch of drones. Commanders are one of the most efficient units right now- You could take a second detachment as Outrider using a Commander with Drone Controller and a bunch of drone units.

So to kick off 8th edition my group is have a massive 3v1 match. Blood Angels, Death Watch, and World Eaters vs 4k points of Orks. We each have 1333pts to work with. What do you guys think of my contribution?

Fully kitted Leman Russ Classic will match a Manticore against most things and do it for more than four turns. Can also take a punch and fire at multiple targets.

BUT

Cannot fire barrage, max range on all guns is 36", and is something like 60 points more expensive.

1 T and 1 wound less with same armor save. The difference in survivability is less pronounced that it's being made out to be. The cheapness and damage output of the manticore puts it comparably ahead of even a demolisher.

Barring the dread, all i'm seeing here is 500+ points where 180 would do. A full command detachment like this is fluffy but also super-expensive and pretty trash

Well I've been wanting to do the math so lets see how an auto cannon fairs shooting T7 vs T8. Assuming 4+ to hit.

T7 3+
2 shots
1/2 hit
1/2 wound
1/2 fail to save
2 damage per wound
Each auto cannon does half a wound

T8 3+
2 shots
1/2 hit
1/3 wound
1/2 fail to save
2 damage per wound
Each auto cannon does one third of a wound

so it takes 22 autocannons to kill a Wyvern and 36 to kill a Leman Russ. It would also take only 8 to kill a Basilisk. So that extra point of toughness and an extra wound can add up depending what the enemy can through at you.

That's always been true. You're confusing klan with tribe/waaaghband/etc. It'd be like asking if Custom Legions aren't a thing anymore. That said, looks like GW has made a similar mistake as the <chapter> style keyword for Orks in 8th is <klan>.
