As a topic for discussion. It seems like the feathered member of Sureau's team is based on both the Wizardry Class, and the actual concept of an Onmyouji. Does anyone know how this class played out in the games? It seems like they nailed the "summon Youkai" aspect already. I would also expect priest skillsets and an emphasis on using paper talismans.

Helck has gotten to the point where it seems to be coming to a climax, but actual per chapter progression is agonizingly slow. Overall great shit though.

Overlord's not a bad manga, though it's got the starting to get stale trope of "protag stuck in videogame" the most recent chapters have had incredibly endearing lizardman adventures.

Yuusha ga Shinda! which I don't know an english translation of (the title, there is a scanlation blog out there of the managa) is super pervy, and hits a lot of common tropes, but it's a pretty good manga about a dead guy who knows how to make traps and be an asshole. It also peppers some good comedy into side and background characters, including some side story omake things that are worth a chuckle.

Kabru looks too hard at people. That's why he's distrustful, paranoid and overly suspicious - but it's also why he knows more about the shady goings on among the adventurers and why he's good at fighting other human beings (or elves, dwarves, etc).

By contrast Laius doesn't look very hard at people at all but when he's in the zone he can completely focus on a monster and his environment.

Agreed with GS being only minimally entertaining because of GS. The world is uninteresting and not very well developed or deep, every single character outside of GS is just a walking cliche, with most of the semirelevant adventurers in the guild being pretty much copypastes of famous characters from other mango, and the overall plot is... well, there's really not much of an overall plot yet. Just GS doing what he does best and having his jimmies rustled when he has to face something other than a goblin.

Really, the only cool moments are just seeing how profesional and experienced he is with his job and how ingenious he can be when it comes to killing shit. Feels like the manga owes more of it's popularity to showing cute girls get raped, tortured and used as meatshields than anything else.

In all seriousness, though, Elias is a fucking interesting character. The more you learn about him, the more you realize that the only reason he does ANYTHING is because he doesn't know what else to do and he thinks that this is what other people would expect from him.

He is a sorcerer because he can talk to spirits, and the first guy he met was a sorcerer and told him that being able to talk to spirits meant you could do sorcery.

He helps people with their magical problems because that's what a sorcerer does. He has no endgame. No goal. He just does sorcerer things.

He accepts payment for doing sorcerer things, because for some reason being paid is part of the business of being a sorcerer. Most of the time, people pay him an obscene amount of money. He accepts it, because why not. But given that he went up against a fucking true fey tier being because a kid said she would give him a plate of cookies if he rescued her bother, he clearly doesn't give a fuck about what his payment actually IS. That doesn't matter. He just knows that getting paid is supposed to be part of doing sorcerer things.

Hell, he only even bough Chise because he overheard other people remarking that he should have taken an apprentice by now.
