Is he back, or did you guys get me all happy for nothing?
>>
>>53753575
The trend in thread titles has been namefags. Strike, Heavens, and Crux were the last three. Next one can be Elona Forever or something.
>>
>>53753598
I don't need the handjob. I just wanted to know that he was okay.
>>
>>53753575
Eh, even if he were, he's barely a step up from Quicksilver, who was barely a step up from Wakfu, who was about on par with bancho. So nothing to get excited over, regardless of any return.

Jumpers, we all know that after a certain point you just start curbstomping things endlessly.

Even if you don't want it to, the powers from hundreds of jumps just stack up.

But tell us about a time after this point where you couldn't just power your way past an enemy or situation. They were just that strong even with your centuries of built-up powers and skills.

Tell us how you had to fight smarter, not harder.
>>

Anon...
>>
>>53753648
I always fight smart though. At this point I think I've taken nemesis/rival drawbacks coupled by powerlosa/amnesia in more jumps than not.
>>
>>53753648
the last time was in HTTYD, I am making a very strong effort to be significantly less murderous/vengeful. So I kind of started some storms to blow The Dragon Hunters off course rather than fighting them directly, stranding Dagur on a desert island early to jumpstart his redemption arc that kind of thing

>Sonic gained this form for the first time when Dr. Eggman used a machine to forcefully extract the power of the Chaos Emeralds from Super Sonic, with which Eggman fired a specialized laser weapon at the planet, releasing and awakening Dark Gaia from the core of the planet. During the process, due to his close proximity to the Chaos Emeralds, some of Dark Gaia's energy infested Sonic's body, causing his transformation. The transformation is triggered at night, which is when Dark Gaia's presence can move freely and affect people. When transforming into the Werehog (or transforming back to normal), light and a cloud of purple smoke envelops him.

Go Mobian in the Sonic Jump and eat the Dark Gaia.

Yeah, but "cool guy" doesn't necessarily mean "best jumpmaker". Depends on your criteria for "good jumps", but it's worth noting his jumps are fairly sparse and require a lot of additional research into the IP, which is either good or bad depending on your preferences.

>>
>>53753648

I prepared for German Hollow Quest from the moment I hit Worm and Shin Megami Tensei.

Sacrificial Bestowment allowed my companions and I to give each other all the powers we got from Worm.

I took the drawback that makes you stay for sixty-six million years and limits your power growth to cap out at Marr, the original Number 1 Espada.

I couldn't get any stronger than him in terms of raw power, but I was able to develop a bunch of weird abilities that made combat hilariously easy using Iterative Improvement.

I used it to recreate the powers I wasn't able to buy in Worm such as Enhanced Mastery, Relationship Modification, and Personal Force Manipulation among other things.

Aizen knew what I was capable of but wasn't able to counter it because I was immune to his illusions (from Naruto) and fast enough (Friction Modulation) to avoid getting hit by him at all, added onto the fact that most of my abilities weren't soul-based.

Then I basically just pulled an extreme Tsukishima on him and everybody else who could have killed me in that jump.
>>
>>53754316
If I had to include every one hit wonder jumpmaker into the list the list would stretch to 50 slots and honestly I didn't even remember who made Imaginary Friends. The people on the list are there because they've made a lot of jumps or are well known for something.

500 CP Undiscounted - Idiot Savant/Protagonist Factor

A table for all the Skills,

and maybe perks those like those based from the Skills.

Advanced Class Skills could only be bought through a Capstone booster that you have to buy up to 100 in 3 skills to access, but it's free and you can get it three times.

I always fight smart, whenever possible. It would be, well, stupid not to.

It was like I was telling Tim when we were hiding out in the Dreaming from the Specter's rampage. After getting over his dimensional travel sickness, he thought I was going to throw a hellfireball or something at his face. He was very surprised when my plan of engagement boiled down to making armies of illusions of ourselves out of wishful thinking, to throw at the Specter.

Once Fake Tim #847569 came back with a handful of feathers, I wrote the Correspondence sigils for "Revelation" and "Illumination" in a magic circle. Any ordinary magician would've taken centuries to empower the ensuing sympathic link, but I'd already taught Tim how to keep his worldboner in his pants. Just blasting the feathers with raw power secured the link better than some gods could've done.

And so, the Specter suddenly had a bad dream in which he was possesed by an evil force, defeated said dream under his own power and woke up to find out it wasn't a dream after all.

Heaven never explained why they shipped me the Spear of Destiny later, but I'm pretty sure it was a bribe to never speak of the incident again.

I'm still vaguely insulted that the first time the Morningstar and I walked into the Silver City, their first reaction was "Oh God, there's two of them".

Numbers don't mean much namefag senpai. I'm sure someone can whip a list of jumpmakers by numbers if it makes you feel better.
>>
Quick question, because googling is surprisingly unhelpful here: What do stations in EVE use for artificial gravity? Is it centripetal force or some gravity-manipulation technology? Because I don't really trust actively-generated gravity on a station-wide scale, that would influence if I'm going to buy one.

It's an interesting idea. Maybe if you repurposed it as a generic deal maker jump based on characters like Mr. Gold from Once Upon a Time and Kyubey from Madoka Magica.

I'm a bit apprehensive about the jump topic, since it's not a genre or a series or based on a real profession, but then again we have the dungeon builder jump. I'd say go ahead.

Okay, I'm posting my draft for A Super Mario Thing again. Last time, I got a few helpful suggestions for editing some of the perks and items like Heir to the Munchiness and King Charles' Crown, which makes me wonder if I missed anything else important.

I think I'm getting real close to the final product, but I want to make certain everything polished just right before I post in on the drive. If there is anything I need to consider, whether it's a problem with a perk or item, or there's something that's still confusing you about the setting, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.

You might not have gotten that far in CORE but Tomoko. The perpetrator would have had to somehow travel halfway across the globe in the span of minutes and somehow been powerful enough to kill all the guards protecting her AND be strong enough to be her, all on her own, which would have made the entire situation not just bad, but ridiculous.

This scene was going to occur immediately after all the main character of the quest's friends betrayed him, retroactively revealing that they had been terrible anyway, and the character the players took that path to save killed themselves because they rolled badly on a sanity roll, with no save. It was bad.
>>
>>53754824
Third Edition weirdness. Given that 3E is unlikely to ever get past the corebook, we know very little about them. Liminals are the Abyssal equivalent of Dragonblooded, using the Underworld elements instead of the normal set. Getimian were created by a rogue Sidereal to oppose Fate, and are some sort of weird bio-magitech cyborgs that make Alchemicals look normal. And Liminals are the result of the Unconquered Sun creating "blank" Exaltations that any spirit can attune to their Essence and use to create Exalted themed after them.
>>
>>53754819
All those except for the 3E exalts are taken.
>>
>>53754824
As far as I am aware.
Liminal= People how have tried to get resurrected. Basically is a Frankenstein's Monster type thing.
Getimian= Something linked to Sidereal, Yin/Yang energy. Maybe Monk to the Sidereals Fate Ninja
Exigent= 1 off exalts, basically a weak/medium God can use a bunch if not all of their power to turn someone into an Exalt of them.

Rule Breaker EX can break NP's (Not divine NP's though) and it managed to severely weaken not-divine servants as well because they were magical entities. So it's very anti-magic.

My spear, REGRET, is anti-evil and it purifies things. I have yet to find a proper Anti-Magic essence shard somewhere to forge it in my spear. I need to make it the ultimate Anti-Magic weapon.

My Reality Marble (That I developed on my own) is called The Realm of Nemesis and it weakens people who's morals don't fall in with mine and it strengthens those who do, plus their crimes also weaken them. Those who have atoned for them and would not normally commit those crimes in their present state of mine are not affected by the weaknesses those crimes would inflict on them.

It's been a long time since I watched this series, but if I recall correctly, the goddesses aren't THAT much more powerful than the demons, especially since their magic is all specialized.

>To be honest I could add more perks and origins to put that.
It would be nice to see some nod to Haqua's magic expertise, like when she surprised Vintage by using multiple movement spells to fly without a raiment. And go into why the Testament Scythe is special, because right now the explanation is really vague.

There are some other things that I wish were included, like:
Keima's love for Yokkyun, and that one episode that was entirely about a buggy dating sim (maybe make the drop-in perk more heavily based on dating sim characters?)
Elsie being the ultimate weapon (maybe some perk that lets you turn a monster into a person after defeating them and then teach them happiness?)

Overall, I'm a bit worried that this will be one of those jumps where the jumper is unlikely to survive without out-of-setting abilities. Keima has that really close call with Mercury. What would happen if Keima failed to connect the timelines? Would the timeline you arrived in be erased and make you cease to exist, thus failing the chain? Would timeline disturbance protections even work against that? Without out of setting magic, it won't even be possible to send the jumper back in time to help Keima because there won't be a younger self to swap bodies with.
>>
Do we have anything that would allow you to gain access to a magic system that's not offered for CP besides using Lip Service (Medaka Box) to pass on Passing the Torch (Kairos) and asking really nicely (a method which only works once)? Primarily because I plan on travelling to alternate planes and realities for fun and it'd be cool to learn something there if it exists.
>>
>>53756126
Are you worried about yourself or others?
There's a capstone perk in Generic Creepypasta that gives immunity to those sorts of mind-destroying pieces of information.
For everybody else, you could just put those books in opaque plastic bags and label them 'Melts Brains' or something.
>>
>>53756380
Sounds like something that'd be cool for a Planeswalker perk, but that's something that'll never happen for a variety of reasons. Maybe replace Passing the Torch with Magitek something (it's a capstone) from FFVI?
>>
>>53756380
Go to Fire Emblem Elibe and pick up "Please Take This Sword", it puts people in debt to you and enables they'll always try to reward you in some way. Save someone's life and have them teach you magic stuff.
>>
>>53756412
Both and neither. I'm worried about eldritch knowledge and literary beings spreading everything else in the libraries and rendering it either useless, dangerous, or both. Dangerous isn't really much of a problem, but I'd imagine it'd be hard to achieve such a state without the preexisting contents of the book being replaced.
>>
>>53756380
There's the book in Hero BBS that gives magic learning material for worlds you visit.

I'm not really worried about learning (it's something I'd like to do on my own in fact), the issue is that there are several types of magic which won't let you so much as light an ant-sized candle without the innate potential.
>>
>>53756454
Not sure about the specified examples, but not a lot of book collection items don't work on unique books or books with magic powers.

Maybe you could set some kind of anti-magic field to prevent any magical books from acting up.

Gamer's Mind protects from all mental effects, including memetic hazards.

The Protectors of the Plot Continuum has The Words perk, which lets you observe the environment without interacting with it.
>>
>>53756488
>word spaghetti
not a lot of book collection items work on unique books or books with magic powers.
>>
>>53756469
The problem is that these are absolutely massive (maybe endless, I don't remember) libraries, and by the time I find out about it, it might be too late.
>>
>>53756488
Even so (not all of them are like that certainly), these worlds in particular are the most likely to have "memetic" shit that produces supernatural effects just by achieving a certain pattern of shapes or images.
>>
>>53756380
Assuming that the magic system has some sort of magical energy involved you can use Universal Adaptor (Storm Hawks) to create a source of that energy and Magitek Mastery (Final Fantasy 6) to infuse it into your body and gain access to the magic system.

Otherwise you could use the Darkness bloodline from Nanoha which absorbs bloodline traits if that's the sort of magic it is.

Using Sacrificial Bestowment to give them the ability to use SB and eventually pass the ability to use magic onto you also works but that'd take quite a bit longer to get to the point you can even access the magic system.
>>
>>53756351
>It's been a long time since I watched this series, but if I recall correctly, the goddesses aren't THAT much more powerful than the demons, especially since their magic is all specialized.

No, they are ridiculously powerful, they simply lack any energy because they're fueled by the love of their hostess, who were heartbroken because Keima.

>It would be nice to see some nod to Haqua's magic expertise, like when she surprised Vintage by using multiple movement spells to fly without a raiment. And go into why the Testament Scythe is special, because right now the explanation is really vague.

I'm not sure what the scythe does except being some kind of power boost / High quality raiment. But yeah, Haqua could use multiple spells at once, everyone was surprised.

>Keima's love for Yokkyun

That dude has some bad taste.

>Elsie being the ultimate weapon

I want to include that too.

>Keima has that really close call with Mercury. What would happen if Keima failed to connect the timelines? Without out of setting magic, it won't even be possible to send the jumper back in time to help Keima because there won't be a younger self to swap bodies with.

Keima took his sweet time searching for the goddesses, in the manga it´s shown that he had done the correct choices in time he would be dating all the hostess and the goddesses would be at max power.

I should add scenarios for this. Any ideas?
>>
>>53756543
Maybe a scenario to make you another 'lost' Katsuragi sibling/interject you in the plot?
>>
>>53756380
>>53756475
Maybe Power Absorption from Charmed? It says it won't work on spellcasting and such, but it does work on magical "powers", and that might give you a foot in the door to use other perks. Such as Darkness Bloodline from Nanoha, which might allow you to branch out into wider spellcasting using the latent "potential" of those powers. It requires a lot of fanwank, though. I'd definitely recommend going to Marvel Magic for The Power is Jumper's, just in case. And of course, it's possible it doesn't work at all.

Did you buy the Robots or Terminal upgrades for the Cosmic Warehouse?

If the former, you could order them to "retrieve" all memetic cognito-hazards from the attached libraries and "store" them in the incinerator / shredder / sphere of ultimate annihilation / available disposal tool of choice as appropriate.

If the latter, you could order it to "track" them but you'd have to do the retrieving and disposal yourself.
>>
>>53756878
Flushing them using the plumbing in the warehouse seems like a good ultimate annihilation tool. I mean, this is a space your Benefactor gave you that isn't connected to anything, whatever you flush is probably never going to be seen again.

Alright. It's nearly midnight and I'm writing up the Dragonflight companions. And as the Devolver Digital conference just broke me like a twig all I'm having idea-wise for their personalities are Waifu Archetypes. So I'm just gonna ask right down in here: what kind of personalities would you like to see with the dragons.

>pic entirely unrelated

also, there's gonna be one of each flight, greater AND lesser. So you got Black, Blue, Bronze, Green, Red, Twilight, Netherwing, Infinite, Chromatic, and Plagued (the Scourge's undead dragons).

Red: The Bad Boy or Bad Girl

Netherwing: The Cute One

>>53757566
Considering the massive amount of options found in some jumps increasing the budget should be an option if the jumpmaker wants it. Its not like the old days where each origin maybe had four perks, now we have jumps that have 8 perks per background plus other group of perks
>>
>>53757622
Non-standard jumps. They don't count. New jumps will cause impressionable jumpmakers like Strike-Chan to think it's okay to mess with standard features.

>>53757448

>>
>>53757647
Unless each option is also weaker or worth less then it's priced as, there's no reason to give more CP. Why is there this idea that you must have a certain percentage of the jump bought for it to be a good jump? Having a lot of options shouldn't have to allow you to take more options then if they just had the standard amount.
>>
>>53757681
No it's not
>>
>>53757680

fuck me but alright, I don't have a pastebin rung up for this so you'll have to give me a bit to browse chain while working, but here's a few that I know directly:

Summoning Signet - FFType-0 - Perfectly duplicates your summon.
Feral Link - FF13-2 - Summons and controlled creatures have two shadow clones.
Seeker of Names - Anima Beyond Fantasy - See true names which make it easier to summon, can ignore contractual requirements on summoning shit
Summoning Specialization - Fire Emblem Heroes - Pick a class of summon, e.g. "Creatures with fire element," they get boosted hard.
Enhanced Summoning + Summoning Specialization - Overlord
Troupe Leader perkline - FF12:RW
Normal Person perkline - SMT
Summoning - Samurai Jack
Briedablik SUMMONING GUN - Fire Emblem Heroes
Summoning Sinatra + Summoning Sing-a-Long - Bayonetta
Summoner Perkline, but Mass Buff is ESSENTIAL - GURPS Dungeon Fantasy
Summoning - Night Angel Talent Supplement
Call of the Wild, Call of the Corrupt, Blank Eidolith (Turn someone / thing into a Summon) - FFXIII
Summoning Scrolls - Naruto
Kingdom Hearts for Heartless and Nobodies, get some shit for summoning there.
Devil Survivor, Devil Survivor 2, Digital Devil Saga, DDS2, PRETTY MUCH ALL THE MEGATEN BULLSHIT
Cabalist perkline - Hellgate London
Mastermind - City of Heroes
SUMMON STEAMROLLER - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Portamancy to an extent - Shadow Ops
Warlock - World of Warcraft
Child of the Spider - Skulduggery Pleasant - SUMMON ALL THE SPIDERS. ALL OF THEM.
Hero BBS, obligatory.
Shaman and Warlock stuff - The Gods Are Bastards
I swear Practical Guide to Evil has something along these lines.
Master of Magic, doesn't matter which form of magic you pursue.
Traveler's Gate Territories, I especially support making a custom Territory.
Summon Niskaru - Kingdoms of Amalur
Magic - Berserk
Summoner perkline - FFIX
Any of the Magic the Gathering jumps you can learn Summoning magic.
Golem, Animate Skeleton - Dragon's Crown

Well, this shouldn’t exist yet, but I’ll make an exception this time. Basically this
Orb lets you “save” a life before every jump, if you die your memory will be send
back to the start of the jump. It only works three times so be careful.

This should be once per jump, not three times. And when it says send you back, does this reset your time in the jump?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.

Oh.

Oooooh.

Warlocks can summon demons and their capstone 'Playing With The Big Boys' is all about maximizing the effectiveness of summons as well as making sure that your summons are always able to keep up with you rather than being left in the dust, frost mages get a water elemental, Plagueshifters can summon water elementals that purify all the water around them + White Hounds, the Scythe of Elune can summon worgen as well as give people the Worgen Curse, Death Knights and Pyremasters can summon undead wholesale.

in Path of Darkness, Fists of the Legion can summon up Legion structures + demons with a finger snap, Loa-Devourers find it easier to summon gods and similar spirits when their goal is to eat them, Hammers of Twilight can call upon the Void to summon either corrupted elements, void monsters, or - via expending an absolute fuckmotherload of resources and energy - a nascent Old God (who will grow with influence into something like Yogg-Saron, C'Thun, or Y'shaarj), and the Garrison buildings will have a few things (like a Level 3 Forge giving you the Solace of the Forge that calls in slag elementals on occasion to assist you in combat).

Playing With The Big Boys (600 CP - Discounted Warlock): Remember the saying “If you want something done right, do it yourself?” Kind of ruins the point of being able to summon in demonic assistance whenever you want, unless they’re being used as just ritual fodder or distractions. But what if that weren’t the case - what if, if you wanted something done right, you knew that your lackeys would DO IT RIGHT?

Accompanied with some of the more technical parts of tactics that you now know, you’ll find that both your summoned lackeys and your cohorts will follow your orders without, pardon my dwarven, ballsing it up. If you want them to stand watch and protect something, they will refuse to be distracted and refuse to budge. Tell them to watch out for a suspicious individual, they won’t brush off their hunches or coincidences. In essence, they become the perfect force - where it would take an Act of Gods or Fate to make them slip-up when following your orders.

Additionally... well, there will come a time where it may, in fact, be simply practical to do it yourself rather than rely on your summoned creatures - your power far outstripping their capabilities. Worry no more on that front, for now your summoned creatures will always be both powerful enough and competent enough to stay useful - no matter where your endless quest for power takes you. Unfortunately, I can’t quite extend this to your dungeoneering party or similar circumstances... I hope you understand.
>>
>>53758237

Are you implying that the perk uses physical scans to check your powerlevel and then uses a small time-accelerated pocket realm and carefully-modulated ormula to grow minions of a certain strength? Jump #359: Kara no Kyoukai
>The Emperor: Worldly authority and power.
>Age: 17
>Location: Mifune City, February 1999
>Identity: Magus (-300)
As though anyone expected otherwise from me.
>Origin: Change (Free)
Well, it actually depends on how you're translating it. At its base it's change, but alteration, metamorphosis, and transition are covered under its aegis as well. All different sorts of change.
>Magic Circuits (x4) (400)
First one's free, and threemore gives me 110 high quality circuits. Helpful, certainly exceptional, but not overpowering. 130, if we count the freebies I got from Tsukihime.
>Resistance (Free, Magus)
Helpful to be able to flush out unpleasant effects from my system with magic.
>Magecraft (Free, Magus)
Well, what good is having magic circuits if I can't use them?
>Magic Crest (0)
A magic crest from a heretofore unknown family? Well, hardly the strangest thing that anyone's seen in this universe. No one needs to know that I've got this - but I'll be studying it in detail.

February... I missed basically all of the canon plot, so instead I disentangled myself from most of the potential weirdness, and spent the next ten years wandering the world learning magecraft. Sure, my eight clones only have 25% of my power, but that still puts them head and shoulders above the average mage with 30+ magic circuits apiece. My real self was reconciling all that I was learning into a coherent whole, and basically turning what is effectively a half-century of tutoring into a cohesive system.

It went pretty well, aside from the matter of a few of my mentors coordinating once they found out I was cheating by being in more than one place at a time. But in the end, the fallout from three Clocktower mages going "how are you in more than one place at once?" wasn't as bad as I expected - they basically rolled their eyes and blamed Zelretch.

Which amused him.

Because it also got his attention.

It was at this moment that Crux realized he fucked up.

Christ, that one fits TOO well.
>Age: 24

I'm just a man whose intentions are good! Oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.
>Magic Circuits (x5) (1000)
Again, first one's free. Which gives me 140 here, or rather, 270 in total.
>High Speed Incantations (600)
With this, combined with my ability to partition my mind, my frankly absurd number of circuits, and ability to pay attention to literally everything, I don't think anyone is going to be catching me by surprise any time soon.
>Academia (Free, Scholar)
Doesn't hurt to be more skilled at teaching, certainly.
>Resource Acquisition (500, Scholar)
What's that? I can use this to find curious artifacts and lost wonders? Why, there's a particular snakeskin I'm looking for and I have SO MANY PERKS THAT WORK LIKE THIS.
>Thaumaturgical Focus: Jewelcraft (300, Scholar)
You can blame Zelretch for this one. He said this would pay dividends in the future, but laughed when I asked for detail.
>Companion Import (0)
Might as well bring my companions along! They can enjoy the fun as well.

Do you remember the haunted printing press from Xianxia? That I can print books on, that when read will impart the same effects as me personally teaching someone for two years, complete with all the perks that compound that effect? Do you remember how I had eight clones mastering every last basic technique that magecraft has to offer for the entire last jump?

So, yeah, it turns out that the magical aristocracy doesn't take well when mages who are basically nobodies get these seeming-grimores shipped to them, and abruptly their abilities leap to staggering levels, using them in ways that nobody had really thought of previously. I had to flee the UK when they came down on me like the wrath of god, and ended up in Japan.
>>
>>53758887
I may have liberated a fossilized snakeskin from someone on the way and stolen the Einzberns' shot at summoning a Berserker. Because the only way I'd let them summon Angra Mainyu is finding a way to force the Sader drawback onto it and calling it Angry Man, with 'tattoos' drawn in crayon. Except... even using the right catalyst, I still summoned a Berserker. Not an Archer, as I was expecting to get.

Gilgamesh as a berserker didn't have an ego, just an insane bloodlust. So yeeeah, you really really REALLY don't want to know what a berserk Gilgamesh gets up to, because holy SHIT that was a mistake. He was capable of some higher reasoning due to having C-class divinity (lower than usual due to his madness?), and no Gate of Babylon, but he still had Ea. I had to burn two command seals to stop him from killing other servants' masters, since that would... well, that would be unsporting, to put it mildly.

I am almost certain that should NOT have worked, but it did. On the plus side, he had utter disregard for a large variety of Nazis that he came across (despicable would-be tyrants, as he put it), but it was rather difficult to keep covering his tracks and I actively had to use out-of-jump abilities to keep the masquerade. Gilgamesh had slaughtered all of the other servants, including the two Sabers, before turning his attention to the grail itself. And destroying it. Because, as he said, it was his to do with as he pleased, and his goal was not so much a wish as a desire to simply cease feeling as though he were a mad dog, controlled by any outside force - a king should be ruled by nothing but his own will, after all.

Technically a win, yes, but when one plays chess... does it still count as winning when one achieves checkmate, and then knocks over their king, the board, and the entire table before punching their opponent?
>>
>>53758895
This entire course of events, with the physical vessel for the grail being shredded by Ea, had... interesting repercussions that would make themselves known further down the line. The grail wouldn't be contaminated by mud, but... of all the things to have done... well. Consider Ea. Consider, if you will, its full potential. The Third Magic remained intact, but... marred. No one knew, not back then. But they would find out later.

In the meantime, I was an outsider. I came from nowhere, usurped one of the Three Families' roles in the conflict, seemingly threw away the prize in spite, and already there were people hunting me. So I left Japan for a little while and worked on my research while more and more new mages came to feel as though they were in my debt due to gaining so strong a grasp on the basics of magecraft and how best to master it early on.

By the time I ended up jump, I was selling on the gray market... well, I can't call them magic crests, but they were not entirely dissimilar. Far weaker, but far more compatible. A single spell in each one, a regeneration spell. Their purpose, of course, was to make a mage slightly more durable, and otherwise much harder to kill.

Zelretch appeared as my time was coming to a close, chuckling. Pleased that things were not as some had expected or foreseen. And he was looking forward to seeing me again in sixty years. Or perhaps a day or two... but it's a timey wimey wibbly wobbly ball of stuff, after all, as he said. How did he know..?

Since the threads already dropping off, now's a good a time as any.

We've got a few jumps that give a free gender change to female, like Senran Kagura or Doctor Who.

Do we have any that offer a free gender change to male or free gender pick? For switching back's sake and we didn't pick shapeshifter options yet.

>>53759360
>Companion Import (0)
One of the pricier imports, but then, I have a rather... extensive family, at this point, it would seem. It is only suiting that my companions are the core of it, though not all of it.

So, let's go over this grail war's contestants! We have King Arthur as Saber; the King of Conquerers, Iskandar, as Rider; and I summoned the first and greatest king, Gilgamesh, as Archer (oh thank god he's not berserker, I couldn't take that again). In addition to that, we've the King of Romania, Vlad Tepes III as a Berserker; the King of Sparta, Leonidas, as Lancer; an Egyptian queen, Nitocris, as Caster; and the Queen of Assyria, Semiramis, as Assassin.

I found it more than a bit amusing when they all sat down to enjoy a drink and speak as equals, or relative equals, at what they jokingly called a Banquet of Kings. Some shared wine and mead, others shared food. I alone, out of all of the other masters present, was invited to join them. Prompted by my own servant, in fact. And so I added my own contributions, though it surely paled to what they all had to offer, being more modern wines... and later, pizza delivery. All my life was Unlimited Wine Works?

Much was spoken of. The state of the world. What everyone, servant and master alike, sought as a goal. What it meant to be the ruler of a people. (Artoria's answer was as amusing, but naive. I had thought she knew the reality of things better. Not nearly as bad as Leonidas, though. Ugh.)

And then there was a grand plan! A tournament. To see in combat whose ideals matched up with reality. Which was all well and good until I noticed the gleam in Gilgamesh's eye, which I should have noticed much, much earlier. Apparently, the other servants decided that I myself should be what they test against - after all, they should see whether their ideals match up with the modern era.
>>
>>53759371
I'll not bore you with the details. Some battles were easy, most, hard-fought. Were I not a jumper, I would not have survived most of them, but frankly at this point I can and did match most of my opponents on equal grounds. And one by one... I killed the other six servants, for when they time came that we fought one on one, they were out for blood and their masters were nowhere to be found.

When the time came to face off with Gilgamesh, I commanded him to end this farce, claim the victory that I'd earned, and call it a day. And when he didn't listen... I threatened to use a command seal to enforce my orders; after all, it was over already. He agreed, and said that as long as he was my servant, he would obey my orders.

And then he reached into the Gate of Babylon, plucked out the Rule Breaker, and severed our contract.

He expressed to me that memories are, in a way, a treasure. Treasured experiences. And such experiences should not be forgotten. Victories. Defeats. Honors. Disgraces. And oh, had he been disgraced when he had been summoned as a Berserker. But now that would all be fixed, after all, because this was all his doing. He was following the letter of the rules, if not the spirit... but each time another servant had faced me, he'd severed their contract and taken it for himself, as another might have done in another timeline, and ordered them to go all out against me and not give any inkling as to what the truth of the matter was.

The arrogant ass opened the Gate of Babylon against me, and I met it by summoning holy swords that he'd never seen, plucking them out of thin air to strike down the noble phantasms launched at me as a prodigious rate. Enkidu was a much harder thing to subvert, but... well. Gilgamesh knew many things, he knew I could teleport, but he did not know about my ability to manifest clones of myself of various power. Still, even if a clone was erased with Ea, it caused my core self to feel immense pain and gave the game away.

Thanks Jumper, dance is always the way I solve things with evil copies as well when our powers match to well

Also that genre changing perk from COD is used
>>
>>53759377
Now, it is known that I have access to mantra energy. As I said, if I were not a jumper I wouldn't have survived, and this divine energy is what permitted me to survive most of the conflicts. But this divine energy is what made me vulnerable to enkidu... and so I let it drop. Perhaps I was no longer as strong, as fast, as durable, but I still had those in reasonable measures - my blade was suddenly able to deflect the chains of enkidu. And with two of his three trump cards neutralized, I was determined to keep him from using the third on my actual body.

And so I equipped my armor, and I clocked up. Gilgamesh saw what I was doing, but as fast as servants can move... a speedster with the ability to move so fast that the falling rain stands still? That's beyond the rankings of servants. I had tried to fight on equal grounds, and the result was near-defeat, so it was time to stop holding back. The vorpal black blade went snicker-snack, and Gilgamesh exploded into golden motes.

Is a victory still a victory when the chess pieces themselves have aligned against you?

Zelretch appeared when it all ended and was, once more, rather amused. He wished me luck the next time around, for it would be nothing like this at all; I would need to stop treating it all as a game, and take it seriously for a change. We walked off, and spent a good amount of time discussing various things afterward.

Huh. He seems like he's not such a bad guy if you don't patronize him or ask him for handouts, frankly.

>>53759436
Well... yeah? Most jumpers eventually reach a point where they're powerful enough to stomp things without much effort. When it actually DOES take effort, "fighting smarter" requires actual strategy, which means you've either got one extremely effective maneuver that you spam because you're an outside context problem, or you have to ACTUALLY fight smart, which can't be succinctly summed up in a pithy little remark in a post on an image board, because actual intelligent strategy is mutable and changes based on factors.

If you want to know how jumpers actually do strategy, you can't ask a generic question like, "How do you fight every foe ever?", because you'll just get another generic answer for generic non-threats.

Instead, you have to look at jumper posting behavior for things like, "How do I beat <x>?", or, "I want to <y>, how do?", and process the answers.
To whit: most jumpers deal with potential problems by either picking up a perk that fixes the problem beforehand in an earlier jump, or using OCP bullshit and/or perk combinations to bypass defenses and trivialize it. It is rare to see a jumper fight a protracted battle unless they are doing so for fun, or have allowed things spiral out of their control.

And, failing that, sometimes problems are fixed by a metaphorical -- or even literal -- long range sniper bullet.

And sometimes, you just don't fight at all.
>>
>>53753648
another instance in which I had to fight smarter not harder was In lost Valley of the dinosaurs,Whale Wolf was clearly no match for Giga Hitler, nor was anyone around me, so in order to defeat him We used the iron mole to dig great tunnels around our camp both very wide and very deep then flooded them using the water to support the Dense forest floor sort of like video related.
