What is the best system to play a Adventure Time-style campaign?
Risus
AD&D

Personally, I'd want to use something like Reign entirely because the idea of leading warbands in Ooo Ghost Princess style makes me uncomfortably erect, but something more rules light and weird might be more applicable.
Maybe 5e, but I'd think something classless would work better for it.
I actually remember seeing an Adventure Time D&D4e splat, which made a lot of sense to me and seemed like a good use of the system.
Even though D&D sounds like a good fit, for most of the post-apoc bits you would start dipping into d20 modern and nobody wants to deal with that mess. I'm tempted to say GURPs.
Would Ice King be Low Int High Wis?

It is a great, light system for short, fun games. None of that balanced, rule-heavy D&D nonsense. You and I both know Ooo isn't balanced or dependent on logical rules. This RPG allows you to make magical dogs, insane wizards, trashmonsters, powerless lards and pretty much anything in between. It does require a skilled GM though, you'll need to improvise.
Played it several times with both Adventure Time fans and others, it was great.
