How would you design a plausible/realistic matriarchal society in a region comparable to the 15h-17th century? I don't want to do something lazy like reversing all gender roles, and I think that'd just make it unrealistic anyway. Females wouldn't be going off to war even if they were less gender dimorphic like Din. Nor do I intend it to be any more matriarchal than most societies have historically been patriarchal. How could it effect gender roles, and how do you justify men being okay with it? I don't know if this is why, but I assume societies are patriarchal because men use force to gain, and then keep that power.

So far I intend for the religion to be led by women, as they worship a Goddess instead of God. Religion would be the best way to enforce a matriarchal society.

For example, marriages could be matrilineal instead of patrilineal. Inheritance could go to the eldest female, or maybe eldest child.

It entirely depends if your friends want to have a nation-centered game or an adventure centered game. It's the same line of logic I followed for getting players for Iron Kingdoms; You might need to let on more information about preferences before we can go on about the wonders of Commando teams in the Periphery or Space Whaling under the threat of piracy.

It really seems like an excuse to combine the high-adventure of airships, sky pirates and all that steampunk jazz with an excessively dark world of Nazis, black magic and realistic gunplay. How different would the stats be between a wooden and a metal tetsubo? Would they have different special rules? I'm under the impression that most tetsubos used in martial arts and possibly combat were at most wooden with metal studs due to the weight of the weapon, but since I can get to 8-13 STR I wanna be handling a goddamn Oni's metal one, even if I have to walk into Kālasūtra and fight one to get it.
