I've been running a renegade souls game for a few months but now my players want to form an actual legion. They were approached by a high paladin who told them where they needed to go to set up their home base. He was secretly a tempter in disguise. When he was revealed to our battlerager she decided to jump his bones and wants to betray the party, which she did. Kills all of her friends in the fight. Then HE betrayed HER, as tempters do, ending her as well.

I want him to ressurect the party as undead servants for another story arc where they break free.

Am I shitting on fluff by making a tempter bring them back to life? I know necromancy isn't their thing but I can't think of any other way to do it.

Jungle Kings are like Mid-tier right now, not broken, not under powered. You're banking on being able to jump out of and fade back into terrain to give you mobility and resilience, if you get a shit draw and all your Jungle Fungus patches scatter to some where useless during deployment and you have a board without much terrain you're kinda toast but that's kind of a rare thing these days with all the cheap pre-fabe terrain that aver FLGS seems to have loads of. Only other caveat is they don't scale well even in the higher range of tourney games at 350. The Sweet spot is 250 for them.

Honestly, low-model count isn't that bad a problem for me.

Once I get the Data shrine+buff trucks machine moving, I get so many buffed up data echoes spawning that I essentially have infinite soldiers. Yeah, they might be as durable as paper, but with enough of them and enough Endurance-boosting coreminds, there's basically nobody who can get through that to start damaging my bufftrucks without taking damage. Except Theofags with Zealotry builds, but that's more a 50/50 chance.

I even actually got a few extra sets of Jin initiate models (From edition 2, so you know how expensive that was), and painted them monochrome blue to make some real data-echo models instead of having to use tokens or pennies or whatever.

There's a distinct disconnect between the tactics in fiction and the actual gameplay - the Hierarchy is probably the one that offends the least, but so mamy of the factions go for full out assaults and win when they're play unable to do so in gameplay. The Hierarchy at least makes sense with the Droptowers and how they actually use it, Shieldwalkers have the best defensive bonuses in the game yet are described as being insane madmen charging into enemy lines and running away quickly.

Because they were trying to make the wargame more warlike? They've been creeping other stuff slowly into each edition, like logi and advisor slots for Command Vehicles in 5th and Commanders Intent. I actually enjoy them exploring the operational side rather than just the Tac and Strategic sides of warfare and the comm stuff makes the game stand out. Actual utility in-play aside, what do you fellows suppose are the best looking models in the game? What factions do you think have the most interesting looking models?

I think that the Scraphounds / Scrapdawgs and the Theocracy are both really cool, in general, with their junkyard-tech and lavishly religious faction aesthetics.

The Scrappies' "Junker" is awesomely over-the-top in its design, and their "Lowly Technician's" body language and facial expression are hilarious.

I like the historical parallel to be quite honest frames the Wavachi nicely as this empire that is at the hieght of it's power, one that will be remembered for doing what no one else has ever done before in conquering a whole plethora of Jin vassals and even knocking on their door. What do the Jin do? Build a wall of course made out of fortress planets and angry lizard isolation.

So Landon Marlo, another one of the 5 great novel writers has announced he will be writing an entire novel series to tell the origin story of the Knights of Jo'Muun. The main character's name is Jonas Jo'Muun, and he is said to be of noble birth. Let's hope he's interesting...

God I want it so much but I know it will never happen.

As a Scraphound player i feel really neglected by the new edition. Barely any new models, No name characters and still no Wolf Packs. I mean i get that the lore for it was completely shit, but it was really the only way to run a swarm army.
With the 3rd ed Scraphounds it at least felt like a swarm army, kinda like 'nids but with robodogs. Now it's all about the dust raiders, who were supposed to be support units.
I find it ironic that a faction called ScrapHOUNDS is only viable if you almost only use the human models.
