Take a squad of CC troops with some plasma pistols and a flamer. Thank me later. I tried it on a whim, and getting the extra attack in CC was well worth giving up that bolter.

A 10man termie blob with a jump sorcerer is scary because they can Deepstrike together and the sorcerer can keep up with warp time and 10 combi-anything is scary. I'm probably going to do 5 melta, 4 plasma, and a reaper. Yes, the reaper is fantastic because it is 4 D2 S7 shots.

As a Slaanesh player with more Noise Marines than Chaos Marines I love the look of the new weapons, cheaper than before to bring them to the field and they're stronger too.
Assault 3 sonic blasters, heavy 3 single frequency and assault d6 varied frequency blastmasters is such an excessive amount of shot. Did I mention that d3 damage and AP -2 on single frequency blastmaster shots? Because that's beautiful.

Personally I think you should replace the bolters with chainswords on those 3 guys left without glorious noise and pop bolt pistols on the 3 Noise Champions to give them a little extra unf if you need it since they're free.
I also think you should drop the Noise Champ's Powerswords for Chainswords so you can afford an Icon of Excess in one of the units, I recommend a Raptor unit.

Generally I'm not sure how great/worth its points the doom siren is now, but any 10 man squad of noise marines with a couple blastmasters and regular blasters should be easily capable of earning back its points

No way! Maulerfiends are cool as hell now. Their magma cutters use the new pistol rules so they can shoot into fights, meaning that you get all your shooting attacks and all your fight attacks. Here's their data, forgefiend too.

You do all your charges. Let's say you charge two different units with berserkers.

First you resolve your chargers who go first.

Then starts the alternating fight phase, with the active person activating first. So you can activate one of your two berserkers to fight again, however your opponent can potentially attack the second set of berserkers before they attack twice.

Awesome thanks for the tips! I'm not 100% sold on doom sirens either, on the one hand AP -2 on auto hits appeals to me, on the other hand I can totally see it failing me when I need it most.

I took it just in case the noise squad gets assaulted but in that case I think maybe having Lucius nearby to fight with them might be worth a lot more in the long run than just one overwatch with the siren, heh.

I have mixed feelings on Bile for the new edition. On the one hand, he can boost more units now, and the idea of getting an entire Khorne army to be super swole is awesome. On the ither hand, having them all line up to get shots to do so feels off, and also is hard to have benefit anything in transports or deep striking, which is where your elite assault units that would benefit most would be.

Nah nah nah, you field Fabius and two troops of CSM, marked with Slaanesh, Icon of Excess (provided you're fighting Imperium) and kitted out with Chainswords. Then field Elite units that deep strike in, and deep strike them next to Lucius so they get the buff straight away, so turn one, move up and buff, turn two, move up and buff, turn three, move up and deep strike and buff and charge if your can.
This requires some tactical movement and careful planning, and a bit of bad luck will spell the for you, but it could work I think.

I mix them so the more expensive and stronger opium lasts longer and mugwort has a relaxing effect on it's own, the two together are nice and when I run out I can smoke mugwort on it's own, not even illegal, mugwort can also go into tea.

You don't really need the sorc to be in termi armor nor does he need to have a combi flamer if you aren't going to combo him with other deep strike troops.
You wan't the sorc close to cast warp-time to make your dudes charge in a turn they wouldn't otherwise be able. Doing so will place the sorc out of range of his flamer so just give him a regular combi bolter to lay down the dakka.

Maybe add some havocs with lascannons, like the other anon sugested, or a squad of raptors / warptalons to kill off something on the enemies flank.

Iron Warriors might fit your playstyle more, night lords are fast and sneaky with lots of raptors and such, no slow wlkers, whereas Iron Warriors are full-on footslogging, through artillery if need be. Plus they're the other anti-chaos traitors, so no mutations everywhere. If i can make a suggestion, taking the elite-based detachment and running:

Yea i was considering Iron Warriors a while ago, but the spoopy-bloody night lords attracted me more.

The main reason im so heavy on dreads right now is that im planning on buying most of the infantry at truescale size. So ive had to stock up the heavies to play with till we get more news on chaos undivided updates.

Chaos undivided won't be getting new marines for a very, very long time-chaos releases are usually in a yearly cycle, and we went khorne, tzeentch, now nurgle, likely slaanesh next, then back around to khorne to redo infantry. After that you might, might have a chance of getting non-cult new models, but thats upwards of three years minimum.

Not the guy you two are quoting but unfortunately (as a TS player this pains me) you are the retarded ones.

Read Psychic section, 2. Make Psychic Test: last sentence, "A pysker cannot attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once a turn".

This is aside from the issue of the Psychic Focus rule saying non smite cannot be attempted more than once per turn by the entire army. We don't even get to try again if the first try fails which means excess ML isn't even able to be used as backup attempts, they are just completely wasted.

So that list could pump out 8 smites and 3 dark hereticus powers per turn. 3 ML's would be wasted per turn (1 per exalted sorcerer and Magnus since the most optimal way to cast is 1 smite per unit and use the excess ML on the heroes to cast the chaos spells.)

Actually, I was wrong. The original list guy misquoted the number of smites he expected and that mislead me. The exalted sorcerers are only ML2 so only 1 ML is wasted (Magnus' third) but again most of those smites are 1/d3 versions and if failed could be very clostly for little gain.

They have a 4+ in cover against shooting, and they're immune to moral with a hidden commissar. They're also 3PPM, so 150pts of conscripts will mathematically tie up a 20man blob of CSM with Chainswords that are worth well over twice its points for the entire game because the Marines will on average only kill 11 per fight. That's 3 whole turns where a 150pt blob ties up a 230+ point blob, and that's being generous and rounding down thanks to pistol shots.

I don't see any reasonably way for us to reliably snipe bubble wrapped buff characters.
Maybe sorcerers? Psychic powers don't have the same targeting restriction that characters do.

I feel really bummed about Chaos for this coming edition. I've got about 4000 points worth of stuff (going by 7e), but it feels like a lot of it is way to different and bland.

No marks, no icons, no relics, no variety of psychic powers. Some of my units are actually just illegal now since they apparently aren't getting rules or are undersized.

I was even planning on splitting the Dark Imperium box with a friend to use the Chaos stuff for some extra dudes and conversions, but I can't even get excited over that.

The Lord in the box has a giant axe with buzzsaws on it and I want to do something with it, but unless I run their basic snap-fit lord profile I'm stuck with it being a normal power axe, because hell if we can have something on par with a Thunder Hammer without it being a unique relic

That's exactly why I'm asking; Chaos Lords are cheap as fuck now and running one alongside a unit of Havocs with plasma guns and champion combi-plasma inside a Rhino with combi-plasma means I can disembark within 12" and dakka the FUCK out of stuff on overcharge without worrying about blowing up. THEN charge the victims with the Lord to tie them up for a turn, then Fall Back and blast them some more. If the Lord gets re-rolls then I can take a Plasma Pistol to be an even bigger shithead.

Reaper autocannon for csm terminators and helbrutes only do 1 damage. Loyalist autocannon is same amount of shots and strength, but do 2 damage. No idea what they were thinking and it better get fixed in the codex.

I got to use it against space marines today and LR definitely needs to be protected against charges if you plan on getting much shooting accomplished with it. That being said it's tough as fuck and packs 4 lascannons now instead of two twin linked. It's pretty awesome.

That is pretty close to what I am planning. Terminators deepstriking along with a terminator sorcerer for warp-time. Combi-meltas or flamers unloading and then charging in. Add some heavy weapon platforms like predators and possibly defilers supported by a chaos lord for rerolling 1s.

Kharn is pretty strong, but I don't like that he needs to be within 1" to get his buff since it also enables him to hit your own guys.

Since their autocannon only does 1 damage, I think it is best to run Lascannon or just go full melee. Plasma could be cool since it can trigger his ability, but it is probably best to use other options.

Cost=model price+all weapons you are taking. Profiles say which weapons it comes with, but you still have to take them.
Missile launchers are actually one of the best weapons in this edition, but I don't know if it is worth taking them on helbrutes. Definitely making havoc squads full of them though. With rerolls from nearby chaos lord or Abaddon it will be very good.

Newfag here. I'm thinking of getting into 40k with the new edition. Can I now mix Khorne Chaos demons freely with Khorne CSM and Cultists and stuff and still got the Battle Forged Army Bonus, since they all belong to the same faction (Chaos)?

I'm confused about the ruling of Battle Forged Armies. As far as I understand it, as long as my units have the Chaos Faction keyword they can all be taken for a battleforged army detachment?
