I've always thought about running a modern campaign set against the backdrop of the Battle of 1999. The PCs would be modern soldiers escorting Julius Belmont across a demon-infested countryside, fighting for dear life knowing that they can't do shit against such supernatural horrors. All they can do is get Julius to Castlevania to seal the demon castle inside Vampire Killer...

Actually given the setting (Japan, 2036, so post-3I), the white hair and red eyes, and the ability to project an impenetrable concentric hexagon force field by end game, are we sure he's not an Angel?

Shit, what would an Angel-Dracula look like in terms of metaphysical biology? An Adamite soul wormed through with a Lilin parasite? Multiple S2 organs? With that sort of power you could juggle starships and conquer entire worlds rather than NEET it up in a crumbling ruin of a medieval castle.

Castlevania isn't exactly a 'normal' castle if you haven't noticed. For one, fully cooked turkey dinners can be found in the candles and the walls, along with pot roasts, it is far, far larger than any castle has a right to be, then there is the fact that it is literally ALIVE and reconfigures itself specifically to kill you. Doesn't help it literally connects to the the Chaotic Realm where the Anti-God, Chaos resides, who is far worse than any Angel.

Adam destroyed a continent, flooded the world, knocked the Earth off its axis, and killed billions of people just stretching and waking up. I'll grant you, Chaos is pretty nasty, but that's a tough hurdle to clear.

Yeah, ADAM is definitely nasty, but Chaos is the thing who provides Dracula with the power to control beings who could probably destroy the world on their lonesome given half the chance. Then you add in the time shenanigans that Dracula likely has as a result of the Power Of Dominance that Chaos grants him, and that makes this thing pretty nasty all in all. But I do agree that in terms of raw physical power, Adam has most Castlevania characters beat.
