They have close ties to the Mechanicus, and a higher than average number of techmarines, who are part of the priesthood, but the chapter aren't part of the cult Mechanicus.

Sons of Medusa were split from Iron Hands for claiming to hear the voice of the Omnissiah in fluctuations in the Astronomicon.

So it's definitely a major player in their theology.

There's a difference between 'I believe in the Omnissiah' and 'My toaster told me with the voice of the Omnissiah to go and murder infidels'.

The Iron Hands themselves are not Cult Mech. But one of their successor chapters, the Steel Confessors, were secretly created by the Ad Mech using the Iron Hands' gene seed that were collected in tithes.

After the Inquisition found out they forced the Steel Confessors to swear loyalty to the Imperium as a whole instead of just to the Ad Mech.
