If the peasants get their pitchforks and rebel you need to send in the Battletechs to squash their rebellion!
>>
>>53519411
But what of the Battletech rebellions?
>>
>>53519469
Then you send in other Battletechs to squash that Rebellion.

Which Battletech is the best Battletech?

That's probably why nobody who matters plays battletech. If they'd change their rules to reflect the metas and rerelease a new edition every few years, not only would their owners not be so poor as to have to steal their own company's money, but they might be a 10th as popular as a real wargame like 40K
>>
>>53527912
The reason the rules haven't changed is because they don't really need to in order to be solid and enjoyable. The other reason is because the license has never been held by anyone halfway competent and has ALWAYS been a total fucking shitshow.
>>
>>53527971

By not upgrading the rules every few years, they're costing themselves money and throwing away the chance to reinvigorate their market every few years. Keeps the brand fresh and center in the consumer's eye.

Nobody cares about a 30 year old ruleset. They should take lessons from actual successful companies.

>Nobody cares about a 30 year old ruleset. They should take lessons from actual successful companies.
Clearly you know nothing about the BT community. Basically, the BT fans like it the way it is and are happy to support the game as they have for the last 30 years. New blood comes in over time and helps keep it alive and old blood is in forever pretty much. Sure, they could renovate, but they don't actually need to, since no one wants them to turn into GW mk2. Also, technically, CGL did what you are suggesting in that they have a newer version of BT called Alpha Strike. It isn't terribly successful since the player base didn't really want it, but it does exist and is a fine game in its own right.

This isn't like 40k which seems to need to keep its players focused every two years since they lose interest. BattleTech has players who are happy to play the way they have for three decades and will continue to do so for the next three decades. It shares more in common with a game like Federation Commander than it does with 40k or Infinity and treating it like those games doesn't really make a lot of sense.

Finally, the real issue with the game is its ownership, who are a bunch of mongoloid retards that make EA look hyper-competent. There's a reason why CGL has been called the worst company in gaming (and it really is).
>>
Rebellions by peasants are crushed by:

1.) Infiltration. Infiltrate the local community to gather intelligence and manipulate

2.) Salami tactics. Now that you've infiltrated the opposition, divide them internally and create political fracturing. Recruit the more moderate opposition to your side and offer them amnesty.

3.) Light airborne infantry. With the opposition weekend, strike at major opposition centers with swift airborne strikes.

They are NOT won by mindlessly bombing places to smithereens.

>the worst company in gaming

By who? Who calls them that when companies like Privateer and GW and Palladium exist?
>>
>>53528726
CGL literally had employees organize a shadowrun to loot all the computers in the main office because they were not getting pay.
>>
>>53529409

And they didn't shoot Coleman and Bills during their exfiltration why, exactly?
>>
>>53529569
I think they had legal protection to do their shadowrun. I'm not sure where CGL is based, but if it's america, then that means refusing to pay on a contract allows repo activity.

The walking attack helicopter that is the Mad Dog

Loren Coleman embezzled money for house renovations while not paying the SR5 freelancers, which people are trying to settle to this day. Battletech also suffered

It's why SR5 is a unplayable piece of shit

Tell the peasants that it's actually some of the peasants fault that they're suffering and the aristocrats dindu nuffin. Works like a charm, every time.
>>
>>53529901
Sounds like an event at a bar where all members of the opposition get to drink free for the whole weekend as a sign of appreciation, sort of like ladies night.

The cockpit style looks so good. Did they all have the same designer? They seem strangely...realistic compared to most of the crazier battletech designs.
>>
>>53530323
I can imagine setting/planet that works that way.

>during Great Crusade 168th imperial fleet discovered forgotten mankind colony, where local techno-tribes and petty kingdoms, after centuries of constant warfare, decided to cease fighting for one day per week, during which combatants of all sides feast in special shrines erected throughout the entire world.
>this tradition is believed to be chief reason for decreasing intensity and number of conflicts on the planet
>Rejected compliance. Enforced compliance process estimated to begin 4-6 weeks after 3-day orbital bombardment

BT is very much a creature of its (aging) fanbase. For better or worse, the consensus among fans is that continuity is king.

The fans are just clever enough to bury endless retcons and apologias to explain existing rules and fluff. Thus making it hard to go back and start over. At this point it's enough of its own thing that change just isn't ever going to happen. You'd see a totally new mech game first.

>>53519411

Well, by fasanomics, a lance of four battlemechs can put down the whole rebellion and garrison the entire planet at once.
>>
>>53536563

Which is why nobody actually plays Battletech now.
