Not him but it has been my experience that a lot of the people looking for players or groups are very flaky.

When starting a new group people need lower expectations, like "When we get 5 people we're going to run a short module". 1-3 will eliminate themselves just by being scared or not being able to make a consistent game. Another 1-3 will just be total social rejects and unable to function with others, then 0-2 will just be not compatible with your play style. Whoever you have left at the end of that adventure, lock in a goddamn cage and hold tight to them.

Then run another short game and do it again. Each game you'll pick up 1-3 people worth a shit and then you take those people and run a proper campaign.

I had the idea of using Deathwatch to run a game where all the PCs are members of the Adeptus Custodes post-Guilliman's re-awakening. The PCs would be sent out to the Imperium at large to bring the light of the Emperor back to the Imperium. Campaign will involve a fair bit of diplomacy, intrigue, and daemonic ass-kicking. It'll also involve a fair bit of homebrew but that's something I'd prefer to discuss with the group as a whole.

Always wanted to give Deathwatch a shot. PCs probably won't actually be members of Deathwatch, instead I'm hoping to come up with a custom chapter as a group and run a campaign based around that. As far as time period goes, I'm debating either regular canon M41, nucanon post-Guilliman's awakening, or even Horus Heresy/Great Crusade era though the latter would require some homebrew.

Experienced players would be much appreciated since I've run other 40k RPGs before, but never Deathwatch.

It's a homebrew some teeg dude made a long time ago. I've ran it like a dozen times and it's really fun! This'll be the first time I play in a game that I made the setting with this too so I'm excited.
