I need some stuff for a game where the PCs are street urchins in a fantasy setting. Need inspiration for NPCs and locations. Got anything, /tg/?

Are your PCs orphans, runaways, feral sewer children, or are they just from impoverished homes? How do they scrape by; do they have any sanctuaries to go to, or charity they can rely on? Religious institutions? Is there a Fagin-like character using them for criminal ends? How would they react to the city watch coming down the street?

I like this, and I've never seen it before. I may use it as a non-metaplot session in my game, thanks anon

Happy to help.
That's all I got for now. Hope some of it was useful. Good luck, OP.

It definitely was, thanks a lot.
Was sure I wasn't getting anything when I went to bed last night. Many, many thanks

I don't know if I should be concerned or... Fuck, what's the word where you're like, "Ah, lucky her" because that's a good quality to have?

Has anyone else done an urchin game? I'd love to run one in the Fallen London/Sunless Sea universe.

Mine's an orphan, her single father of magical law enforcement got downed in a squabble, and sometime after their home got repo'd. Instead of going to some orphanage like a normal child, she took her father's spellbook, dagger, and whatever savings she could scrounge up, and rigorously continued her magic studies in the streets. She hopes she can get good enough at necromancy to bring back her father so they can be a family again, but it's been twenty years now and she hasn't even made her first zombie yetdue to legal reasons.
Is it just me or is the very notion of kid characters really looked down upon around here? Not just one person playing a younger character in a party of adults, but even in a campaign designed around it. Seems like people turn their nose up.

I think it's half shitty opinions, half fear of lolicon faggots fetishizing the characters.
Lots of people look down on YoungAdult fiction in general, and that's where most young protagonists are.
Looks like image limit's been reached. Anyone care enough to make a discussion thread?

An Urchin game in the Fifth City could be pretty interesting. You'd likely want most, if not all of the party, recently orhpaned though - simply due to the amount of shit the Urchin's end up involved in, they're one of the factions most in the know about the various secrets.
