>This is a ROMANTIC Comedy, after all
Of course they actually love you Anon!

>Bag of cookies
You could fit it in an average human hand

>Canon Companion/Haruno Yukinoshita
It's difficult to explain, I just love her. I like adding personal touches to my Jump(s in future) it seems.

>Dead Fish Eyes
The main character's considered decently handsome besides his dead looking, fish like eyes. This perk makes it a little more literal.

>Groundhog Year
In case you were planning something untoward to other characters, you might face repercussions. Spending ten years in high school seems hellish enough.
>>
Better.
>>
Can someone tell em what jumps give me the ability to kill gods ?
>>
>>53457298
I remember your shame.
>>
>>53456864
Wait, what?

So getting cybereyes in any jump just stops your Quirk from working entirely forever, even if the cybernetics are effectively a natural part of your body (like the post-jump Shadowrun or Metal Gear Rising stuff)?

Hell, what if you're actually a robot?

>>53456468
>>53457314
Would be nice if there were a few more drawbacks. Only having two for each tier is a bit sparse in my opinion.

Also, for Groundhog Year... is that ten years, each repeated once for a subjective total of 20 years, or your first year repeated ten times? It reads somewhat like the first, but the second is closer to Groundhog Day.
>>
>>53457298
Oh my.
>>
Wasn't someone working on an Alchemicals jump? I might be remembering that wrong on the day everyone was talking about it and someone might have just expressed interest.
>>
>>53457326
Star Trek: TNG+DS9 and 80s action movie come to mind.

>>53457337
It's meant to be the latter, I'll reword it a bit. I'll add another drawback for each tier too
>>
>>53457298
>>53457345
Is there a line, or should I just take a number?
>>
>>53457337
You know Quirks are generally biological powers right? Do you think a Sharingan is still going to work if you don't have a chakra system? Why would this perk that relies on having actual eyeballs like a living being work if you no longer have them?
>>
>>53457314
Please don't add personal touches that include jacking up prices for reasons you can't explain. If you can't tell us why, please lower her cost.

>Of course they actually love you Anon!
Well, yeah, that seems to be the point of the perk. I'm just wondering if it'll also cause tsundere behavior.

>It's difficult to explain, I just love her. I like adding personal touches to my Jump(s in future) it seems.
Alright... Seems weird to me, making it more expensive to take along a character you love. But sure.

>In case you were planning something untoward to other characters, you might face repercussions. Spending ten years in high school seems hellish enough.
Ah, alright then. Seems fun to me, actually.

>>53457349
Mir is doing Alchemicals.
>>
>>53457389
You'd still have eyeballs like a living being, they'd just be metal and provided by a perk. Hell, with the mentioned jumps they're even specifically mentioned to work like natural parts of your body.

So yeah, I'd expect a sharingan and this quirk to still work, since those are also provided by perks.

>Mir is doing Alchemicals.

Thanks for saying.
>>
>>53457428
You've got a weird idea of how this stuff works.
>>
>>53457337

Quirks are biological powers, and some are linked to specific body parts. If you no longer have the body part associated with a specific Quirk you can't really use it. It's not like they're rooted in magic or soul powers or something, they're basically all the result of the next step in human evolution.

If you're a robot you wouldn't even have an organic body to host a Quirk anymore and even the powers that aren't centered around a body part would probably be MIA.

>>53457429
Huh, what a strange freak occurrence that happened completely at random.
>>
>>53457442
It's the only conclusion that makes sense to me. Otherwise cybernetics would be utter traps wherever they're offered, simply because they'd be incompatible with a shitton of other stuff.

>>53457449
Well, that sucks hard.

Guess that means I suddenly have 800 extra cp, since my technorganic body doesn't qualify for the Quirk I got before, and I might as well grab the Quirkless drawback then.
>>
>>53457449
Most perks continue to work in all alt forms, powered by fiat. Do you think that super strength from spider man would cut out in a robot alt form because a radioactive spider bite can't have effected their non-existent muscles?

It's also incredibly unlikely for a jumper to maintain a biological form for their entire chain. What happens when you take Wave Form Anatomy and your body is replaced by your soul, or the full body cyborg perk from Asura's Wrath or the perk from Fate/Stay Night that makes you a colony of worms? It seems like all Quirks are on a timer and you're eventually going to lose access to all of them permanently.
>>
>>53457516
Wave Form Anatomy is a trap.
>>
>>53457511
>incompatible
Yeah. That's kinda the thing.
>>
>>53457511
If you're partly organic, why not just make your eyes partly organic too and solve the issue?
>>
>>53457511
Just grab Amazo backup, and shove the quirk in it.
>>
>>53457516
>Fiat
This is the best answer. Logically, losing the relevant biological components for powers to work (Muscles for strength etc) would mean losing the associated powers as well, but that's only if you're thinking this through. Jumpchain being what it is it's only subject to whatever you want it to be, logic and anatomy can take a hike..
>>
>>53457511

Uh, yeah, that's exactly how it's always worked. Most people tend to avoid cybernetics and junk for a reason, or focus it all on a specific alt-form. Sorry to hear dude. Before you get your hopes up though, what's the situation with this guy's >>53457568 question? How exactly does your body work?

>>53457516

Yeah, pretty much. If you don't have the foundation for something I don't understand why you think that would work. If you don't have blood, you can't spray blood from wounds when you're cut like if you have Bloodborne or Black Blood based stuff going on. If you're nothing but a soul you don't really benefit from gourmet cells.

Lots of perks work on fiat, but if it has an explicit mechanic in place for how it works I don't expect it to work when you fly in the face of it. That's dumb.
>>
>>53457648
>or focus it all on a specific alt-form
Sounds like a mechanical fanwank on your part.

Taking criticisms in mind (and to heart), I've got a new draft for you /jc/. Changed the font too.
>>
>>53457648
But we aren't talking about lacking the required body parts. Anon has eyes, just not biological eyes. Obviously if he were a robot without eyes, an eye based quirk isn't usable. But if he can't use robot eyes, can he use dragon eyes? If he can only use the perk by benefiting from human evolution, then how can it apply its benefit to dragon eyes, which evolved entirely independently. By the same logic, how could he use it with elf eyes? Or even eyes that have a different mutation bought from another jump?

Most jump makers allow their perks to apply via fiat, because if they didn't it would make all alt forms utterly useless. What alt form could ever be worth giving up a huge chunk of your perks for?

>>53457568
I don't have Erasure quirk, Manyfist was the one asking about that.

Anyway...

My eyes are partially organic, and partially cybernetic, and partially made from primal chaos. They don't actually have any squishy parts, just being made of metal and organic, but behaving like organic stuff.

As for my own quirks... if simple cybereyes that are actually mentioned as functioning like natural body parts don't work with Quirks, then why would it work with my body? It's literally the exact same thing.

>>53457648
Well... I had a Blood Manipulation and Synesthesia Quirk Marriage, with an Empowered Quirk purchase.

But apparently my sensory organs don't work with it, since they're metal despite also being organic, and my blood doesn't work with it because it's a mix of lava, magic acid/poison, gatorade, and nanomachines.

Also, I've never heard of anyone avoiding cybernetics or focussing it on a specific alt-form.
>>
>>53457702
Any way to bring the person in the Married Ending drawback with us?
>>
>>53457757
...anon, are you serious right now? They work on any biological eyes because quirks are biological and this particular quirk is definitely biological. There's no reason for them to not work on any of your other examples because they still have the meat there to work with. A robot doesn't.
>>
>>53457761
>just being made of metal and organic, but behaving like organic stuff.
*made of magic and light

Fuck.
>>
>>53457761
So if you have a fiat effect saying they behave organically...what's your issue here? NuBee never said it overrode your shadowrun specific allowances. He just said it wouldn't work with robot eyes. Can you make any leaps of logic on your own or do you need hand holding?

NuBee said they work based on the "result of the next step in human evolution." Dragon eyes are not human eyes. If there is no fiat effect allowing the eyes to adapt to different alt forms, what reason is there to expect they would continue to work as a dragon?

Regenerative Shell needs to be limited to once per jump while in the chain. That or remove the bit that it forms when you would be killed and make it so that it's not an automatic thing, so you can still be killed if you don't have enough time to activate this.

I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case-as a deity of magic it made sense for me to be an unofficial third member of the Vishanti. See, Oshtur is Agamotto's mom. I was Loki's kid way back in Viking Saga, and Marvel!Asgard has gone through a lot of kalpas (cycles of creation and destruction) in which it's changed a lot, so concievably Asgard Prime could've been nearly identical to the mythic Asgard.

And given one of my domains is Magic/Stories, I ran with the idea of being this world's Loki's "child" metaphysically because he features in my narrative, but brought into being by Oshtur. Hence, a sorcerer.
>>
>>53457869
I played Arcanum ages ago, so the details are a bit fuzzy.
That aside, this definitely captures the feel of the setting... I really like it
>>
>>53457757
Now you're just being pedantic. Jumper bodies have always been genetic cocktails that continue to work for reasons so it doesn't matter what weird ass biology you get through perks, as long as you're organic, you're fine. Inorganic pcrosthetics and robot parts just don't suddenly get the benefits of flesh and blood because a perk says your flesh and blood is awesome.

>>53457761

As long as it has an organic basis, it doesn't really matter what they're made of. Lots of animals have body parts made of metals among other materials you wouldn't expect. You're fine.

>>53457869
What does the Vendigroth Device actually look like? How big is it?
>>
>>53457955
That's actually by design; the shell works as an unlimited one-up unless your foes are strong enough to break it. It's better in that it can be used as often as you 'die', but it's also a lot weaker in that anything you *really* need it for will probably be able to murder you while you regenerate.

>>53457990
It's about the size of a basketball, but it folds out into some bizarre wiry net when activated.
>>
>>53458011
....yeah, I really don't think that's a good idea. It assumes your foes are going to be able to break it and frankly, the way you described it, they're going to need a huge amount more power to kill you after it comes up. It doesn't feel like it's a lot weaker at all and it feels more like the 'flaw' will only apply if you die to something not using it's full power. Which is unlikely to be all that common, at least compared to the benefits of unlimited one ups.

So again, I'd repeat my suggestions unless you can clarify how much more power they need to kill you.
>>
>>53458043
>>53458011
And I also missed that the recovery time gets faster as you get more magical, which just makes it worse, since eventually it'd be extremely short times that would just make you unkillable.

Yeah, I really think this needs the usual limit anon.
>>
>>53457869
Eh. The Items are all over the map. Arcanists and Inventors clearly have better ones that Veteran and Specialist. Drop-in isn't too bad. You need to work on your formatting though. Everything just bleeds together without indentation.

I can't decide if I like the perks or not. Most of them capture the feel of the setting, but the 800CP ones are mostly ultra-bullshit. I know they cost a lot, but Regenerative Shell basically makes you immortal and Flawless is conceptual-grade perfect fighting technique. Magitek Adaptation is all right, because you still have to train to get up to breaking all known laws of magic and science over your knee. Also, Stat Allocation and Blessing of the All-Father both feel a little forced.

I mean, it's clear you like the setting, but it also has a feeling of a bit of a power grab.

Have you ever done the whole 'I am God' thing before Jumpers? Maybe turned yourself bigger then the planet and showing them your superiority?
>>
>>53458011
Anon, the minimum damage you gave for breaking the shell at all was a device that bypassed durability and instantly killed someone forever on a conceptual level. There's very little that's going to match to that in most jumps, meaning this perk is actual infinite lives in most settings, even really bullshit ones.
>>

>Is there a site out there that has more of these things?

>>
Eh, I can always nerf Regenerative Shell. I'm more trying to catch the feel of that ability.
>>
>>53458115
Dude even in this setting there's only one thing that can kill you.

>>53458126
I think you should. Beyond just adding the once a jump limit to it, that perk seems to remove all threat from this jump. Nothing but one device can kill you and even if you're in the shell by the end of the jump, you don't get penalised.
>>
>>53458100
Not to that scale, but I turned into a mountain sized Shoggoth in aSoIaF and ate the Iron Born. Just as Theon was about to come into port.

Pic related. AfO is two quirks put into one, one quirk allows itself to be pass down if the user is willing to pass it down loading a piece of your DNA with it. It supposedly alters the body structure of the receiver.

Okay, rewrote it a bit so it's less powerful. How's this?

PERK
A technique that was largely lost after the Age Of Legends, mages of great power could once use this magical power to ward off death itself. When using this ability, your spirit retreats into a cocoon of sorts, formed of raw magical power. Within this shell, you will recover from your injuries until you emerge, once more at full strength. The more severe your injuries are, the longer the shell will need to restore you, and you are completely insensate while inside. It’s not unheard of for severely injured magicians to need months or years before they emerge once more, and on at least one occasion a nearly-dead mage spent a thousand years within a shell because he had already spent most of his power.
The shell itself is nearly indestructible; the Vendigroth Device was the only known method in Arcanum for killing a magician that has mastered this technique. In other worlds, forces of similarly great power may be able to break the shell and kill you.
Should you reach the end of your time in any world, the shell will always collapse, potentially forcing you out with some of your injuries if your regeneration is not yet complete.
The shell may activate automatically to prevent your death once per decade, but must otherwise be consciously activated with a sufficient expenditure of magical power.

NOTES:
To put the toughness of the Regenerative Shell into context: when Vendigrothian inventors developed the Vendigroth Device, the magician that destroyed them not only devastated the entire country, but he did so with such power that two thousand years later the entire area remains little more than a blasted wasteland. Said mage did not have the means to break a Regenerative Shell, nor did his peers or superiors. Expect weapons or magic of sufficient power they can emulate nuclear strikes to break a shell, but anything weaker than that will likely fail without repeated attacks.

I think you accidentally a word in there, anon. Far as I can tell, it works once per weapon.

However, you should still keep the benefit if you merge multiple weapons together. If the weapon dealt fire + Ice originally and you merged a similar weapon into it that had light + dark damage-types, it should deal all four damage types.

>>53458437
The shell isn't a thing you can do in-game, only a couple of NPCs have that power (the end-game boss Kerghan is specifically one of them). As for if it's automatic, it is in that battle but at that point the guy isn't exactly your average spellcasting dude in robes anymore. There's not enough examples to show if it's reflexive or fully automatic.

-Elodie, Sunny, Nona, Nona 2, Pleinair, Beatrice, Ange, Maria: Original Character, Portable Plot Hole (Free), Hidden Depths (Free), I Exist (100), Minis: Themselves (0)

My employment would've been incredibly controversial, if it hadn't been almost completely obfuscated. Officially, I'm just an auditor for the Protectors' expenses.

Unofficially, the Flowers were very surprised to hear I wholly endorse their operation. We've been cautiously trading notes; I've been advocating more...widescale anti-SUE countermeasures.

Gravity furnace-melons encoded with world reset programs. Artificial pattern-spiders. Memetic killcodes made of Red Truths. I'm concerned that with in current pop culture, aberrant fiction will increase in numbers and scope exponentially to the point where it will be unrealistic to expect a team of baseline human agents to deal with them, instead of an easily overlooked unmanned drone.

My companions are a bit of a sticking point though; I've made the case they're technically alternate versions of the original character because of the chain's structure. As a sign of good faith, I've been having these negotiations in the most mundane human form I can muster. To keep me busy while they mulled over my metaliterary WMD designs, I was given the harder missions. The hit on Sonichu went as planned 'cos I'd been around that block. But to this day, nobody believes the point man who took credit for the Sapphirus job.

Mainly because the woman's head ended up in another reality.

It's taxing, having to play at humanity. More taxing still to cover up the full extent of my abilities once enough people figured out I was the guy the Flowers kept giving the hardest jobs to; I've brokent the record for the hundred-meter-backpeddle-while-mumbling-about-classified dash. No matter what my essence tells me, yelling commandments at people is NOT the answer.

Oh, and Pleinair made friends with all the other alternate Pleinairs. They formed a Pleinair Club that stared worldly wisdom into people.

Finally, the day came when they approved Project Anafabula. Broadcasting the anti-narrative would take more time than I had left in the world, and probably continuous development post-Spark but it was still a somber day.

Once the SUEs were gone, a lot of people would be out of work. There was a lot of retraining, and some of the oldtimers needed a helping hamd to take up the training they'd need to operate the new tech. And there was a general sense that hands-on violence would be less frequent now the Protectors could afford to be much more hands-off.

But hey, better to live as good fiction than to die as bad fiction.

You say that like it's a bad thing. This'll probably be infinitely entertaining.

I'm probably taking 'This is a ROMANTIC Comedy, after all' just to complicate the love triangles further.

And maybe Groundhog Year too... with the Yandere as the only one (aside me) who gets to keep their memories when we reset. Because otherwise I'd be able to predict their shenanigans and it'd get boring, so they'd need to adapt and remember what didn't work last time around.

Also, we need a Generic Spanish Soap Opera jump. Or at least a Generic Soap Opera jump.

Not God per se, but that's how I ousted Father Comstock from Columbia's heights of power in Bioshock Infinite. I revealed my true form as an angel in full view of the city, and declared that his crimes against humanity-and his own daughter-had driven God to abandon America.

"The land of the free" thus I spaketh "would be cursed forevermore with poverty, war and communism!"

Aaand a bunch of people start screaming while bursting into flame so I had to tone it down a little. At that point Comstock was foaming at the mouth and begging for forgiveness, not that it stopped his own guards from throwing him off the city.

And then, I used my experience as a Russian commander/the ensuing pleas for forgiveness to remake the government into something similar to communism, but rebranded as the "National Democratic Theocracy".

Funny how much of a welfare state you can get away with, as long as you put "National" in your government's name somewhere.

It's more properly done with a speech of "A god am I" instead, because pretending to be YHWH is meh.

And mostly it's more understated than that. Grass and flowers growing in my footsteps in the desert, food and drink appearing from nowhere to feed all who meet with me, the world obeying my every gesture and word, like raising or lower the tides, or calling and dismissing storms.

If I want to be more obvious about it... I just let my eyes glow with a kaleidoscope of colors, start to radiate light, get a reverbed voice, and wear either a halo of searing light or a crown of fire... and I start toggling some of my appearance perks on. That helps a lot too.

Solving people's problems and effortlessly kicking the biggest bad of the setting with one arm is enough to wow people. But I wouldn't call that "godly", just very very cool.

Also if my jumper can cast any single magic spell in the world with a (potentially) infinite mana pool, is basically immortal and only extradimensional attacks can touch them, and can build technology that can do the same to improve people's lifestyle and can teach any magic system to people so long as they are good at math, then becoming bigger than the planet is child's play.

Showing one's might is not needed. Jesus's most famous miracle is walking on water and turning water into wine. Not a big show of force. Plenty of people are big. Few can do what I can do. I can completely revolutionize whole worlds or plant the seeds to them. And can grant those miracles to others if I'm so inclined.

And that's my definition of godly.

You can criticize my choice in companions later. I have actual work to do in this one. Also, thank god I have my original form back for this - I don't think I could have endured another second of that, especially in a place like this. One sling ring later, I'm inside of Synapse, with a very confused and alarmed Daedalus greeting me. I introduce myself and say I'm here to help. She might have been less skeptical if I didn't call myself 'The Destroyer of Worlds', but what's done is done, I suppose. She's not in any position to turn down aid, after all.

Hello, Minos. You demiurge in a human meat sack, you. I'd like to congratulate you on winning a certain prize. You see, by virtue of being a cruel and sociopathic overgod figure who routinely slaughters millions and builds sentient weapons - with actual emotional capacity to understand what they're doing, no less - and then abuses said weapons and sentience for fun, you have won something very few people in the greater multiverse do. My personal attention.

You see, guilt by association is still very much a thing as far as sins go, especially things you personally ordered. You thought your hands would magically be clean? Well, I'd like to introduce you to a certain ability I picked up recently. It's called the Penance Stare.

It's funny. If you had Ikaros or Chaos at your side for this very occasion, I might have had an actual fight on my hands. But you're several hundred years too late for that to matter now. Ah…you can't really hear me anymore, can you? I hope that if this world allows you to live again, you learn that nobody is above consequences. Particularly when a spiteful dimensional traveler shows up at your doorstep.

Anyways once that bit of schadenfreude is taken care of, I decide to help Daedalus in reforming Synapse a bit. The entire civilization is suffering from ennui from its distance to humanity, and Minos wouldn't allow any of them to visit or return to Earth. I take a page from my jumps and suggest they take disguises like before - except they go down there as their own flesh and blood. Meanwhile, Angelroids' emotions and sentience are more closely recognized, and the Imprinting System is phased out for something less servitude-based. They'd exist as citizens in Synapse, as opposed to property or servants.

I'm not going to be here long enough to properly coordinate Synapse's reform, but I like to think this is a step in the right direction. Daedalus cares enough for Angelroids and hates Minos' past actions enough I think she knows how to steer things into something functional. My gaze into the future tells me Earth and Synapse will eventually recognize each other, but from there, things get blurry and less certain.

…I hate to say it, but I'm really bad at this kind of thing. Ah, well. I'll be spending the rest of this jump trying to kick the ostrich mentality out of a certain Tomoki Sakurai. Daedalus insisted I don't cause any serious harm to him, so I instead try to shape the boy up into something less garbage. It will make Ikaros happier in the long run, too.

>Space Jumps
Cowbow Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Metroid are all still great answers for early spacers.

If you can survive a high level of ridiculousness, Red Dwarf can be a ton of fun, if a little lonely.

Space Pirate Captain Harlock is a good place to pick up an awesome ship, but it tends to be a little more dangerous of a setting.

There's also Mystery Science Theater 3000 if you just want to sit in space and watch bad movies for ten years.

Kerbal Space Program is focused more on getting to space than actually being in it, but it's a neat early Jump to pick up science perks.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind.
But, I would say it's a definite maybe.
One of AK's big things is it's explicit difficulty to block/shield unless you use a physical barrier or sacrifice. So it should not be easy to clock or resist or reflect without something like perk fiat backing up such.
And yet, it has happened in HP canon, so it is possible, just requiring very esoteric magic and isn't easily reproduced.
Given that Merlin is explicitly rather powerful and has access to a different magic system, there's enough evidence that you could rule either way.

Going along steady. Should be finished with Tzeentch perks this weekend and started on Slaanesh perks.

Also put some more thought into it. My answer for army stuff is still likely going to be "no" as Black Crusade is more about what the PC accomplishes with their abilities. Yeah there'll be stuff for managing/recruiting people, but likely not the army builder stuff as otherwise it'd be an entirely different setup. For all I know, Part 3 could backtrack on it but for the time being, it's unlikely.

I also apologize for how long Part 1 is taking. Parts 2 and 3 will be way faster by comparison, Part 1 is just where all the set-up is going to be and so that requires the majority of options to work through.

It depends on the context of the situation, really. Against heroic individuals or people who are just doing their jobs? I'll usually just disable or disarm them before going on my way. People like Minos, or individuals that have no intention of fair play? You can bet I'll use every outside context ability I have before they realize they hit the ground.

Most of the time, out of fear of becoming a tyrant, I toggle off most of my non-passive abilities or things that make me an obvious or overpowering threat. I do my best to blend in. Mostly.

I think it's fairly obvious by now when I stop trying to be subtle or play fair.

if they are worth it and worthy of a fair duel, I'll tone myself down and fight them in an equal match.

If they aren't, go for the level of power that I think will help ensure their defeat without fucking over the world around me, because at this point I'm at the tier where I work through proxies, Companions, Third-Circles, sub-Kami, and Avatars to avoid shit like Sage of the Forest proccing, unless I opt for turning my several crafted power-limiters and locks up to almost 100%.

When I entered this world, I was expecting everyone and their mother to try and murder me out of principle. Instead, I was an earlybird student of Master Roshi and a talented martial artist in my own right. When Goku showed up and I realized that the plot wasn't actively trying to kill me, I ended up tagging along and becoming part of what would eventually become the Z Warriors. My cultivation abilities and the fact my ki was now focused on the growth of my soul, as opposed to just physical training, meant I had a fairly significant growth rate. If anything, I was probably a little bit beyond where everyone was, once I had adapted Temple of Thought to my variants of ki, with some help from Tandem Style.

Ki in this world is plentiful, and with Only Humen, it replenishes quickly along with my other pools. The boost to power isn't to be underestimated, and I feel like I'll only get stronger and stronger. But despite that, I don't think that's my primary appeal in this world. As strange and dumb as they are, I like a lot of the people here. Goku is a fun kid. Incredibly dangerous and punchy, but he's not what I'd call 'evil'. I wonder if I can keep him from developing a few bad habits he picks up later in life, though…

Nechronica was the most notable example of this for me. Between High School of the Dead, Land of the Dead, and Killing Floor, there really was little choice but for me to take to the front lines. Especially considering I didn't feel right about letting the Dolls onto the battlefield. I mean, they were mostly little girls and most of them didn't even realize the world was just... gone.

So I unleashed everything. I built massive earthenworks to funnel the waves of enemies into predictable paths, summoned up fields of lava, and even used the soul-based magics I always tended to buy into but never use. The collateral damage was minimal because, well, there wasn't anything else left to destroy.

But I saved their smiles, which made it all worth wild.

>>53460575
Eh, it really depends. That's a hard question to lay absolutes on. I try play fair most of the time, but occasionally a knife in the dark is really the best solution.

But if my time in the Bioshock worlds are an indication, I'll use any slight advantage I can get when the chips are down. Up to and including throwing the female Lutece twin into a building's engine to cause it to crash into a second building, all in an attempt to keep alternate Elizabeths to keep from erasing my Companioned version.

Super Robot Wars lets you get a Powered Armor of sorts based on your mech.

So if you want got to as many mech based jumps and import and upgrade the ever living fuck out of it.

Then take SRW as your last mech jump/import and for you mid-season upgrade choose the Great Battler/Warrior G.

Boom, you have a mask that will transform you into a human sized version of your mech.

Take this further and import that fucker into all the Kamen Rider jumps and try to get a little bit of everything.

I think Symphogear and Nanoha could work for an import option as well.

Well...Doctor's Companion and Main Chain are tricksters, they're definably NOT going to fight as honorably as a knight does. They don't really kill people during peace talks, that's just plain mean and awful to do. But well...Doctor's Companion's Reality Marble explicitly depowers their foes (Not completely, TYPES would barely notice the change and Gil still has GOB but he isn't gonna break with Ea like he did with Iskandar because the RM is EX Rank), and that's very dishonorable to do. And DC doesn't see anything against pulling it out if something goes wrong.

But they don't really see themselves as fighting dishonorably, merely evening the playing field and tipping the scales slightly in their favor depending on how important it is that they have to be taken out of the picture. DC is more likely to kill someone than MC if it's self-defense, though. MC just kinda laughs at them and teleports them away.

Writer just doesn't give a shit and will probably do what is necessary to get someone taken out. Which is a little extreme, given how strong they are. But Writer is a lazy fuck and thinks honor is a headache to deal with. If you fight Writer, you're not gonna walk away alive if Writer thinks it's necessary that you die.

Zephie probably fights the most honorable, because pic related was a tremendous influence on them and how they fight. So they typically fight very honorably, but is willing to hold back information about their abilities in a fight, like not telling their opponent they have ANOTHER spear and it happens to be the pretty sash around their waist with flowers blooming out of it, and that it's even STRONGER than the spear in their hand.

>>
>>53460575
I'd only use underhanded tactics if I absolutely had to kill someone and I was not confident I could kill them otherwise.

Otherwise, when fighting to kill, I tend to use excessive force.

When duelling for fun, or fighting someone much weaker than me, I give them a moment to make preparations before I proceed to trample them.

Ah, right. I almost forgot that the worlds eventually end up spiting me somehow. Well. Great. I'm in a child's body until Erika and Ange track down those Black Star Dragonballs. You'd think Sling Rings would make this a lot easier, but there's still a lot of ground to cover in a universe this big.

I also eat like a living goddamn tornado. I feel sorry for whoever is covering my food bill back in Voyager. We end up becoming side characters as we go off on our own adventures and occasionally back up the Z Warriors. And that's not even tossing The Four Amigos into the mix, two of which were personally trained in magic by myself and Raven.

Doctor's Companion would come out on top, but only after a long, emotional fight. Main Chain would too, but the fight would be a little less harder but still difficult.

Zephie...would probably effortlessly win too. Because Xanxia Protag perk.

I have contingencies to take them out peacefully for this exact scenario.

I've seen too many relationships end up like pic related because of the "of course they'd never betray me!" mentality.

I have a whole bunch of companions (30-ish, not counting my army-in-one-slot companions and descendants), and they tend to be pretty sttrong in whichever jump I picked them up in... So that would be worrisome.

Except I don't really import them, and invested heavily in a tank-spec.

At this point, I could literally lay down and take a nap while the majority of them tried to kill. They wouldn't actually be able to do anything.

The only ones who would be somewhat of a threat would be Basphomy, Arianna, She-of-Fair-Eyes, Makoto, and Anja Silverclaws, on account of Exaltation shenanigans. And SMT Lucifer, because he's fucking Lucifer.

But even those I can beat if I try.

Considering that I usually only import the same eight companions and them I use trading perks to have them pass all their stuff to me so I can redistribute them later in the form of technology, I guess I would easily come on top if that scenario came.

I also usually reserve the best origins and perks for myself. And I always get the original items. And there are a fairly large number of powerful jumps where they weren't imported (the original Persona, Devil Survivor, Hellsing, etc.).

Decade would probably lose. Sure, he's got virtue of hax and more experience...but he's passed down all of his teachable abilities and kept the others up to speed as much as possible. Even Slowdown can be overcome using temporal-based magics. Also, She-Of-Fair-Eyes is a Solar that has hax Decade isn't privy to. This, combined with Nymph's own hacking as support, with Erika and Ange being Witches with full Umineko magic and knowing how to use it by now...he'd probably lose by virtue of not being able to counter everything at once. Hyper Clock Up might tip the scales, though it stops mattering once everyone is fast enough or has precog spells active.

That's what I get for sharing. I don't regret it, though.

I mean. Several of my companions are students I hand-picked to teach in magic, martial arts and cultivation. Others have a benefit to coming along for when they eventually return home (that's what Blue tells me, anyways). Others just have nothing to look forward to at their home worlds (Nymph, Erika, Ange). I never really thought 'minions' when it came to picking up companions, nor be deceptive about what the chain involved.

I got an early lesson in what happens when you're careless about companion choices, anyways. They're people I can relate to and know for a long time. Yes, even Erika, turbo cunt that she is, I respect her determination and detective abilities, and she respects...well. Whatever it is I have that makes her call me 'Watson' as a nickname.

I'm still not sure if it's an insult or not.

The three castes as backgrounds, plus drop in based around the ideas behind the Chaos pattern and their fair folk heritage. Or maybe drop-in will have a super-perk based around being a "complete" jadeborn like The First and his ilk. Last jump took a lot out of me I’ll admit. I guess maybe the boss lady noticed that. So this place is… strange.

At first I thought it was just another high school but things were… oddly quirky. Still it was a warm and friendly place I actually made a good number of friends here. Only 3 of my wives were enrolled with me. Arcueid, Akitsu and Tamamo. It took a bit of effort to get the paperwork for the rest of my companions to be able to transfer over. I was glad Yubel was able to join us I didn’t like one of my wives being left out.

The biggest challenge was Doom-chan. She still will not let me fix her face saying she has already tried everything. She couldn’t wear her power armor or mask in school so I had to work up a magical ring that gave her the illusion of her old appearance. She reluctantly accepted it… my companions teased us about me giving her a ring. My wives were less than thrilled by it… Except Akitsu who seemed happy about it.

It was actually fun playing games with my companions just being normal kids, getting in to silly and funny situations with them and my new friends.

Whether it was battling a deer who thought I was encroaching upon it’s territory or just playing card games with my friends it really was a nice time. I am glad that they all got a chance to enjoy it.

They are written in the same style as DB's and I'd assume they pretty much all can awaken evocations just because evocations are cool af. As it stands right now I actually have most of the items done as they are like super fun to write; have tried to keep them as awesome as my stunted writing skills allow for.

>I do not remember. Was that a thing? That could work for something.
Yeah. I think it's only implied or off-handedly mentioned in 2e.

But 1st edition had a write-up and stats for the Clay Man in the Creatures of the Wyld bonus material.

I have the pdf for that, if you'd like to read it?

>I thought artisans were just the "most" complete, still missing their warrior and worker shards needed to be complete. Basically I meant it as a way to use all the patterns plus some extra respect from jadeborn (and other dwarfy folk in future jumps).
Yeah, they're mentioned to be pale shadows in their Caste description... But they're also mention as having whole, unfractured souls, as the originals did.

So personally I'm taking that with a grain of salt. It's most likely more of a reference to being very limited in number, and constrained by the Great Geas. I think?

Here, on the creation of the first Artisan Caste:
>Finally, she found a third nodule the she knew to be rarer and more precious than the others, because it contained within it one of the rare unfractured Jadeborn
souls, which her people had lost the art of freeing from the stone. She carefully freed this figure, who rose up and stared at her with a gaze that reflected both brilliance and passion. White Shale named this being Eryan, Daughter of Hope.
>Eryan was the first of the Artisan Caste as well as the last and tiny remnant of the old race of the original Enlightened Mountain Folk. Although only one in 1,000
of the Jadeborn were members of the Artisan Caste, each of these amazing beings was sufficiently powerful that he could successfully direct the remainder of his kind to allow their civilization to thrive and grow.

Seems to me like they're still like the originals, with the Warriors and Workers being new things sprouting from the fractured nature of their souls.

You might be right. Like I said it's kinda shitty right now. I started it before I made my last jump (Ultraman) so it's been a while since I read scroll of fallen races and put work into it. We'll see if anything comes of it. If someone makes a good one in the meantime I won't complain.

Ranma is an equal to my strength (Sibling Rivalry [Inuyasha]) and is /this/ https://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/45gp5x/respect_ranma_saotome_right_moments/ Ranma! He's been with me for ... 900+ years now.

Misaka Worst is a master of the Spin beyond even my own skill level.

Roselyn is from my very first Jump and able to spin raw magic into a weapon that conceptually IS defeat.

Yumi is a Yandere and wouldn't join a fight against me but she's got access to Real Eater and FUCKHUGE amounts of spies.

Sing, Ling, and Bone have been learning martial arts for ages under me.

Sabo is damn awesome.

Alice is a new addition but she has access to Wonderland and she's able to do some terrifying things with knives and a toy pony.

My Masters from Wu Xia are monsters in their own rights as they've taken to just being hellish Cultivators who have spent hundreds of only Cultivating all the time.

And now to my Parents... Welll....

So the last time I tried punching above my own weight by being cheeky, it didn't end very well for the Jumper, so I'm going to ask directly.

What are Decade's odds in The God of High School, particularly for the Special Human drawback? I love this jump to pieces but holy hell companion imports alone take me to hell and back in terms of point budget.

Magic: World's Greatest Magician+Outside Help+Sorcerer Semi-Supreme, Safety First, High Magic, Seeker of Names, Intentional Magic, I Cheat, By The Hoary Fucking Hosts, Gift of the Thousand Master, Mystic tree from YJ.

Ki: Cultivation (+Golden Godgrass and Time-Accelerated Garden), general DBZ ki training kept with a bidaily training regimen, Perfect Soul (ki usage and power is uncapped from physical form, focused on strength of soul), Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Learning rate: I Found It Beneath Me, A True Genius, All-Star Training

Probably more things I am forgetting, but a lot of my street-level stuff is pretty irrelevant here in the lategame.

Plans for build: Human, Ordinary High School Student+Wisdom of the Sage+Blade of Tathagata, Genuine Genius. Companion imports if possible.

How do my odds look?
>>

To be honest the only things I really want out of the jump is to give everyone a happy ending using my jumper powers and to take Alice, Alyss, and Lottie as companions. While I'm sure there will be interesting perks taking those would be a secondary focus.

OKAY.

So Part 1 would be setting shit up. Who you are, what gear you have, etc. Giving you what you need to become a Champion before tossing you out and going "Show me what you got." The longest Part because I don't want it to become Light of Terra v0.5.

Part 2 would be gaining the favor of your patron, learning of a place to really impress them, and collecting a powerful weapon/ways to start building up your Crusade.

Part 3 is basically going to be a bugshit Tower Defense game while the planet's under a massive epileptic Warp Storm. And then you choose your prize for completing your objective.

Depends on where you actually are with your DBZ stuff and how you're judging DC/Marvel magic. The magic could easily place you near the endgame of the series if you take a higher powered interpretation of things. For Ki, it didn't seem like you kept up with the Z Warriors due to drawbacks hobbling you, but are you like, Android Saga level? Because unless you're still at Saiyan Saga levels of power you should be A-OK for everything short of the very last battles, so long as you don't go full retard and fight the entirety of Heaven alone or something, if what people said about suns getting turned off with kicks and millions of clones is true.

For Special Human...

>>
>>53464211
And the series still isn't over. There's one final season, set in a post-post-apocalyptic Earth where almost everyone has a Charyeok, Mubong has declared himself king, and the protagonists are being hunted down because they're the ones who actually saved the world and can challenge Mubong's narrative of being the best guy ever who saved mankind from the oppression of the gods. Man, fuck Mubong. I'm taking Longinus Hand with the option for your Charyeok to be the original instead of a copy, so I can take his place as its contractor. I don't even want it, I just want to deny him it.

After +100 years in Warhammer 40k being a high school teacher for 10 years seems like a nice break, couple years later wishing I was back killing orks. Teaching at a regular, non-magical, early 21st century high school is sooooo boring!

The little joy I get at work comes from putting the proverbial smackdown on punks the faces of students realizing they're destined to work +12 hours a day in a cubical. Well, that's not entirely true, I enjoy it when a student shows enthusiasm in class and a desire to learn more about biology and transformative viruses.

My significant other, the fitness instructor, is nice and all but I don't see it going anywhere special. They're sweet and we have a good time together but I don't see them becoming a companion.

That's about what I expected, ouch. At least it's not totally impossible this time. If I'm cultivating/training two years each week via the Chamber, I imagine I've already caught up to the Z warriors near the end of the last jump, so around mid-Cell Saga? With the limitation I was an Earthling, but with the bonus of Perfect Soul+Tandem Style+Temple of Thought giving me a much bigger than average pool to work with to compensate.

Magic is what Decade has been training the longest and he's definitely at least equal to his old teacher Strange, if not more.

If all else fails, I have a cheat combo that lets me use By The Hoary Fucking Hosts+Outside Help without having to follow terms or pay the debt. Thank you, Seeker of Names. That said, I feel like that particular trick would only work once, so it'd be near the end. That and Musou Tensei+I Have No Soul to Burn are my big 'cheats', though I don't think Decade can use the latter without something to get the waterworks flowing.

No bullying him doesn't count

The items are a little dull - they could be made a bit livelier, to carry Arcanum's jocular tone. Arcanum expressed a lot of its character through its descriptions of items, particularly the technology.

E.G:

Tesla Gun: The Latest Marvel Of Science from those inquisitive gentlemen of the Energetics Institute - this robust apparatus rapidly condenses electrickal energies into the form of a tightly bottled miniature sun! Much to their surprise, a slight misadjustment of the containment coils produced a most vigorous propulsive reaction - and blasted a sizzling hole through five inches of well-tempered Tarantian steel! Yet, ever-quick on their feet, the potential for this most novel device in the field of warfare was quickly realized - and now you may be a possessor of the finest and most advanced instrument of technological destruction yet invented! Yeah, you win, no problem there. Only the top tiers in that setting are actual planet busters, while everyone in DBZ is arguably at least a moon buster after the Saiyans saga, if not a planet buster if you're a Saiyan. After that the power-levels keep escalating.

You won't be punching planets out of existence, but you can use Ki blasts strong enough to destroy them.

And thanks to your learning boosters, the hypergbolic chamber and that you have two systems of will-working to min/max as much as you like, you can easily counter anything in the setting with a short trip to your chamber.

At this point all of my companions have custom-tailored Exaltations so they can turn their greatest strengths refined through my own power against me. And there's A LOT of them out there. And quite a few of them were cosmic beings in their own right. And my sisters and Sunny have most of my powers, but both have focused on different things than I have. And I purposefully enhanced Elodie to be able to counter me without needing a raw power advantage.

I'm going to say pulling out all the stops, they could beat me. But at that point it would be less sparring, and more end of the worlds.

So I asked the other day about how to learn more about Warhammer Fantasy and 40k since we're getting so many jumps for them now and I want to get into it so I've been doing what people suggested, reading the various wikis and watching Arch Warhammer's videos and I've learned a good bit from this. But if I want to get more details and a better feel for it, should I start reading the sourcebooks or the novels?

The ones that get turned into plushies are still alive and conscious, they just can't do anything until jumper either releases them or gets hit hard enough. I suppose it's possible that a few people might have quirks that could still work, but most victims are helpless.

The plushies that jumper carries around are just ordinary dolls, they're just supposed to give people a momentary freakout when "what if those are people?" occurs to them.

(I know less than nothing about the setting so… hopefully it isn’t too terrible. Warning: It probably is terrible)

Sometimes the sad part of vacations is that they end. I had enjoyed just screwing around as a normal kid. Still just like real life I had to grow up I guess as I was thrust back in to another damn war. Looking at all the upcoming killing and senseless violence that accompanied it I realized I wasn’t up to it.

So Earth had needed more resources than the planet could produce so they created space colonies to harvest resources and send them back. Well the Colonies became independent and gained a superiority complex like something out of gundam and now a war was brewing.

I was part of a neutral colony, we were too small to have gained a superiority complex but really weren’t linked to the earth anymore.

I really just didn’t want to fight and kill any more I didn’t want another war.

My companions were actually concerned. Akitsu actually was the one who suggested not fighting, saying why don’t I just end the war before it starts I had the power.

(To be continued)
>>
>>53466018
Doom-chan told me I should just conquer both sides, that I was finally seeing the weakness of humanity and that they needed a strong hand to guide them towards a better future. It’s kind of sad but I could see her point.

We came up with a rough plan I would use my colony’s neutral faction to create a peace envoy. The leaders of the factions would at least listen but then do whatever they were going to do anyway but I had charisma enough to convince them to not go to war.

The SATO leaders were suspicious of us and su we were under very heavy security as we went before them. I talk to them explained why war was a bad idea and would only hurt people. I also offered them prototypes of several more efficient technologies. That actually got their attention. I figured if the earth didn’t need the colonies that would greatly help to reduce tensions between them.

After giving them a few holy grails that mankind has been seeking since the worked out the whole fire thing I headed for the SDF.

They were much more welcoming at first though in a patronizing way treating us as a back water cousin. At first my speech and pleas seemed like they were going to fall on deaf ears, they really wanted to kill the earth. But I used logic to try and point out that there may be cases where they still needed the earth, also that while they were united right now that may not always be the case especially If the earth was removed as a threat. That gave them some pause. I also bribed them with technology which seemed to help improve thing. So instead of an eminent war things became a cold war between the earth and the colonies. It wasn’t a perfect outcome but it was far better than I honestly expected.

Life Fibers can affect the mind if improperly placed, though, and Ragyo's full of them. It wouldn't be the first parasite to repurpose its host's reproductive drives to suit its own purposes, either. Look up Sacculina to see what good ol' nature has actually cooked up on that front.

Unless we get some sort of prequel detailing her behaviour prior to hybridization (the first ever, with none of the checks and safeguards that went into Ryuuko, the Kamui or even the Starred Uniforms) we can't say definitively how much is her and how much is the fibers. It's a moot point unless you can remove them without killing her, anyway.

Dumbass question.

Marvel Magic's soul eating. Would you say that's like Dark Souls' gig where it's like a lower soul/not identity related sort of thing? Or wholesale "get eated, you CEASE TO EXIST" kind.

In general the trend leans towards the lower soul thing, but that could be because the soul-eating demons tend to trade in souls a lot.

Also fair points.

Admittedly I was thinking along the lines of Exalted: Infernals First Circle demons, or SMT demons who were summoned by the Jakyou Manor so it was just bodies with most of a soul. Lacking the spark of life, so basically summoning lifeless blanks. Or the 100% unrepentant asshole types like from Doom or the majority of WoW demons.

But even then, there's always that uncertainty. That concern that leaves one unsure how far the line can be straddled before it's truly crossed. So I find it better to ask and triple check some things before going gung-ho and realizing later "Oh shit I have been completely evil."
>>
>>53466732
>WoW Demons
Reminder: The majority of demons that betray the Burning Legion do so out of love for their Warlock or other summoner. Succubi are the weak link,
>>
>>53466754

>>
>>53466810

>>
>>53466732
As far as marvel demons go, it's a bit inconsistent with regards to souls. Ex. Blackheart in the Ghostrider film is immune to the penance stare until filled with human souls. Personally, my theory is that it isn't a lack of soul that prevents the penance stare from messing with him, so much as a difference in the make up of a demon soul vs. a human soul(different frequency or amplitude or something like that)
>>
>>53466754
>>53466810
Which is true for those who betray the Legion. Hence "majority", not "all".

But that alone should make me think this over and ask myself if it's really a good idea.
