>Believe in Muhammad
>Insults Jesus
You do know Jesus is like their second favorite religious figure, right? Their end times prediction literally has Jesus come back, take control of the Earth, convert all the Christians to Islam, and basically team up with another savior figure to defeat the anti-Christ and a figure that's basically anti-Muhammad. Then they'll create a paradise on Earth before Jesus goes back to heaven.

Armor- Living Metal Symbiote (3,250)
Melee Weapons- Earthforged Weapons (3,115)
Ranged Weapons- Artificer Bow (1,765) Alchemical Bombs (1,607.5)
Miscellaneous Items- Specialized Tools (1,247.5) Books (977.5) Potions (910) Traveling Supplies (887.5)

Hirelings- Skilled Worker x1 (68.5) Thug x1 (64)
Pet- Cat (59.5)
Guess I'll grab two sets of Fancy Clothing with the Spare Change (14.5)

Rights and Properties, Vessels, Mounts, Hirelings, and Pets I did not subject to the 50% off Tradecraft, even though they still have the Bronze-Gold ranking. They're not Gear, so it doesn't make sense to use the discount.

>Companions
Cinaed, Halfbreed Madwoman
Sahn Long, Monk Dropout
Uharen the Just, Unwilling Hero
Lara Dresten, Escaped Concubine
Grimauldus, Illusionist Drug Dealer

A group of unwilling heroes masquerading as wandering performers, getting dragged into mysterious, quests, and brewing some damned good beer!

I fully intend my young, naive monk to woo the jaded young concubine and live happily ever after.

build concept:
Oathbound Paladin of Protection.
Founder of the White Knights, a chivalric order sworn to defend the weak. Particularly the weaker (and fairer) sex.

Tutors:
>Oberon x2

Skills:
>Combat Skill 2(+1 when wielding Holy Blade)
>Governance 2
>Investigation 1
>Charisma 3
>Command 3
>Tradecraft 1
>Holy Faith 3

Lore:
>Lore of Fire 1
>Lore of Water 4
>Lore of Heavens 4
>Lore of the Abyss 1
>Lore of Winds 1
Water for healing and purifying, Heavens for seeing through illusions and snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. And some versatility just to show who's Fulcrum. (It's me. I am the Fulcrum.)

Inventory:
>Earthforged Weapon
>Artificer Weapon
>Plate Armour
>Artificer Plate

Employees:
>2 Knight Bodyguards
>Skilled Workers a dozen
>Soldiers a whole bunch

>Warhorses
A few for my knights in training.

Rights and properties:
>Knighthood
>Paladinhood
>Sanctuary 5850g
A tiny castle called the Refuge, it serves as a base of operations for the White Knights and as a... refuge for battered women, runaway children and other innocents in need of protection.

Companions:
>Chloe Shireslight, Disney Princess
A symbol of what we are fighting for and an inspiration for all the knights sworn to our order.
We must protect her smile. Remains chaste and pure, is impressed by heroics and might eventually settle down with the most deserving of the white knights. Basically she's the carrot.
>Lucfil, Holy Blade
+1 in combat skills.
Gives me legitimacy, righteousness and prowess in combat.
>Lisa the Ghite, Jarl's Daughter, Administrator
Ably manages the day-to-day at Refuge. It's thanks to her we haven't gone bankrupt or starved yet.
>Jaqueline, The Green Apostle, Living Saint
Healer, celibate. My knights consider it an honour to act as her bodyguards.
>Khaliiid Kingbeard, Festive Dwarf, Storyteller
Cooks and runs the kids daycare.

Charisma/Appeal. I laugh when authors add a cheap option that makes you really fucking beautiful because it's so fucking overpowered. Beauty has toppled kingdoms. Entire multibillion dollar industries are founded on beauty. Beauty ensures you a life on easy mode if you're not an idiot.

I'll never know what an author's thinking when he gives you beauty for like 5 points and makes basic telekinesis cost 20 points.

Beauty is one of those things almost everyone picks in cyoas. Making it expensive is just crippling your cyoa.

>>53417683
because you don't always end up in a setting where its denizens puts a heavy premium on beauty like we do

Beauty only really helps when you already live in a stable society and have a support system desu.

Otherwise you get forcibly married/kidnapped/raped/pimped out.

(I assume we're talking about female beauty.)
>>
>>53417683
Beauty should be cheap or free, because in so many cases they are basically a tax due to everyone taking them.

When do bonuses to Magic apply?

The creator is long gone, but I've always applied teachers bonuses at the first level, then second if you took the same one twice. So Nyxeris would give you Charisma 1, Shadowcraft 1, and Lore of the Abyss 1 for free and you'd pay for the next tier after that as normal.

As for companions, I figured what they can teach you is just flavor text and something to think about. I wouldn't bother going back and adding it to your build unless you feel like min-maxing

Under Marquise Valeria Procula's iron fist, the whole society has been practically enslaved and is devoted to mining and building The Marquise's personal army, including one of the largest ships ever built and exhausting her planet's resources. The force may be impractical, but is truly terrifying to behold. Her obsession, strange as it may be, has at least led to the disappearance of pirates in the sector. Now that Princess Theia's grown and is looking for allies in her quest to become Empress, her estranged former playmate may yet be an even greater service to the galaxy.....

This is a good one.

>Beginning Wing:
Fungal Bloom

I definitely need the abundant food and water. Not starving to death is my first priority. The fungi can't chase me, for the most part, and hopefully the mutants are not efficient predators.

>Path and Speciality:
Path of the Mage, Evoker

Probably best to use ranged attacks. I'd take Hunter, but I'm sure I'd run low on ammunition pretty quickly, especially if I start in the Fungal Bloom.

>Boons:
Book, Map

This is more or less playing the long game. These two items become more and more useful as you explore.

>Contacts:
Shopkeepers, Party

I should be able to return to the shops easily enough with the map, and they should be useful to me early on, given that their wares are cheap. I need to get some initial traveling equipment somehow.

Working in a group lowers my chances of going insane from loneliness. It also probably lowers my chances of dying, although it could raise them if said group is sufficiently unscrupulous and murder-happy. Hopefully I will encounter sane people rather than power-mad murderhobos.

>titles
The Gunslinger
The Greatsmith
The Traveller
The Meteoric
The Slayer
>artifact
Armour, Spiritual, Bound Spirit

Spend some time making some extremely advanced range weapons. If I'm reading the description of slayer right, as long as I make weapons that work out to 20km I'll be able to attack from complete surprise since the targets would have to see me to be alerted. Avoid one and many's and imperial majesty's while I'm doing this since they're annoying to kill.

Once I have all the titles, work on figuring out which artifex's are worth befriending.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be blessed enough to see Ruby smile in person. To witness such a stunning masterpiece of creation, the pinnacle of all that will ever be, would be to know the love of God in full. To have such a deep fulfillment brought upon you. No death, no pain. Only Ruby. If only it were possible to overdose on Ruby, then surely I would know the shape of which my death was to come. To have the nice doctors pry open my skull in autopsy and be swept over by the same love that was instilled in me, oh how my last wishes would be answered. To have them, in the same fervor as I, carve Ruby into my defeated brain as they bask in the residue of my love would be the greatest triumph. To prove the sanctity of love in the name of the one I wish to consume my every thought and feeling would be enough to allow me the strength to bring ruin upon the knees of the defiant. She's perfect, beautiful, and all-important. There is no reason for anything to exist if not to work as contrast to the purity of Ruby. Everything else is sin is fear is pain is suffering is ruin is hell is failure is nothing is hate is evil is disgusting is destruction is oblivion is false is oppression is chaos is entropy is screaming at me and you and us and her no stop stop don't scream at her please just me not her she love her love her I love her

Some of the fight scenes are fun. They also had a few neat ideas. Just don't look at the plot or characters too hard and you can enjoy the show.

No, she’s just so fucking perfect that it is beyond belief that mortal hands could sculpt such a grandiose work of utter perfection and thus I must conclude that it was not by the hands of men that she was created but rather by working by cold logic it is obvious that Ruby is an eternal fixture in the universe that has and will continue to exist perpetually gracing us misbegotten worms with the purity of her form which lights up the world and banishes the dark of ignorance which is clung to only by the fools who can not see that she is the future of all that is and shall be for her light imparts the very will of the universe’s final form upon all and pierces the cold curtain of lies that has long clouded and obscured our vision of the truth the truth that is Ruby who I shall love eternal there is nothing but Ruby in the perfect world I see it when I close my eyes I love her she is there in the world where she is and I love it when there is no sight when I close my eyes because I can see beyond what I can see and I see Ruby and I love her so much that when I close my eyes I can see her

Whenever I think that things will never get better I remember that no matter how much noise is making my brain bleed bad I can still close my eyes and see how much her perfection has made itself apparent to me and I will always love her for this I love her and I see but when there isn’t her I’m sad until there can be her because I know she will always come back when her time to be is now and when that now becomes the now-now I will smile because the now that is then will be that aforementioned now-now and I will love it because he is here and that will be everything that makes me breath because the world is cold and dark but Ruby is always going to have my smiles in a bag to give to me when I close my eyes and see her in the world that has Ruby or when the time for Ruby is now especially in the Time when Ruby is now because then Ruby will = true and I can watch her smile even if she will never know that I am watching her make me smile

Heh, d-tier? It's better than feely teaching, and its not as blatant as Angel/Demon Roommate.

It kinda does feel like something is missing though:

"Yo sup Colm! Been awhile, still here I see?"

"Yeah yeah, need to get away from work, being a mentor sounds pretty relaxing compared to that. This sounds like some serious Big Mages, Little Sages nonsense though. Yes. The Pamphlets helped."

"I was always a Thaumist, Runic Magic was never practical, and I wasn't very spiritual. Versatility y'know?"

"Man, I don't know how I got hired at the Cruimin District. I never had the connections or anything. I guess they wanted a clean paper-pusher that wouldn't ask stupid questions and got his work done. Well, they got me anyhow."

"You know me man, Spellcraft Theory was my specialty. Gotta be practical, all due respect to the engineers."

"Yeah, yeah, I'll go ping everyone and see what they've got going on."

"Hannah? Perfect student. I might've turned out like that if I wasn't a complete screw up."

"Vera's cool, I don't think we see eye to eye though."

"Cicely, 'I've done spectacular things?' Okay. Maybe a few. She seems alright, she makes the cut."

"Penelope? She's a good girl. As far as I can tell. Leyline dynamics ain't really my thing though. I'll let her pass though. I can see that she needs a mentor more than most"

"I respect Arabella, I don't see much in common though."

"Ditto for Rudy."

"Oh man, Marie-Claude is a riot. She seems pretty compatible, and I respect a lady that swears. She passes."

"Elizabeth seems like a hard worker, and her Major fits. Pass."

"Lastly, Ms. Kirkegaard and Leuvia would flourish under someone else, I'm afraid not."

"So that leaves Cicely-the-Creative Techie, Penelope-the-Blunt Orphan, Marie-Claude-who-Swears-in-Esunian, and Elizabeth-the-Hardworking Duelist."

"Colm, I feel for Penelope, and Marie-Claude is like a Esunian version of myself. Fine. Yes. If I was a couple years younger and blonde. Sheesh."

>Greatsmith
Upgrade my pirate ship to a Final Fantasy style airship, build automatons that will be supernaturally good at their task to crew the ship and help me with whatever.

>Gunslinger
Pairing this with Greatsmith means I can build whatever ranged weapons I require and have them on hand at all times. Also gonna build me a FF13 style gunblade because no way am I gonna be a pirate without a sword. So long as I summon it, I'll have greatly increased reflexes.

>Seeker of wisdom
Makes life easier and people can offer me payment in the form of knowledge transfers.

>Traveller
Works really well with Greatsmith and Seeker by letting me stay up for weeks building or learning whatever I desire.

>Scourge of the Cosmic Seas
Go around the multiverse hunting treasure, both magical and mundane. Charge obscene prices to ferry the rich and powerful across universes and offer resourceful and interesting individuals a place on my ship.

"Colm, tell ya what. This is pretty fucked up, but I know a story like Penelope's will get her a mentor. Just have her apply for others and BAM. Easy. Done. She doesn't really match my specialty perfectly either."

"Yes. This means I'll be mentoring that "Fucking Esunian."

"Made for each other? Fuck you. And don't give me that shit because I'm 27. Okay. Fine. Maybe. I'm not saying that's impossible."

"Yeah, I really appreciate this, I need a break from that shit at the district... Cheers!"

--

I can see what you mean by the CYOA is missing something. It doesn't have something to bind the elements together. There's no overarching goal aside from mentorship, And I'm not talking about a silly pick an ending sort of ending. It needs some sort of impact. Romance and lewd are impact yes, though not exactly highbrow. Not that this place is highbrow. I'm sure you'll think of something.

I guess I didn't think about it as additional titles, rather as empowering your current title. If I had to pick a second, I'd probably pick "the Drawer at the Well of Pleasure" to represent how I use my body to enhance others' sexual experience and performance.

I had fun trying to work with it, even though breeding and creating children isn't my thing and due to stuff in my past heterosexual sex kinda doesn't do it for me. I finally found a role that I enjoy and actually provides an interesting place among the builds I've seen.

The rumours are true. The Order is reaching knowledge of magic decades ahead of the overtly ignorant fools at the academy. True, some sacrifices have been made and must be made but that is only fair: powerful magic does come at a price.

We're close, so close, to accomplishing our goals but it seems we need an actual sacrifice now to please HIM. I don't mind. As I said, it's only natural.

I'm sure the girl will agree.

Yes, she will be tortured, defiled by beasts, removed of her limbs, and her soul shall be dammed but THE MAGIC! CAN YOU IMAGINE THE MAGIC!

You have a good premise, and an interesting world, what this cyoa lacks is either a conclusion or a direction.

Sure, you can have a student or two, but aside from generally tutoring them...and then what?
You have a story background, a means for a story to go forward(choosing a student(s) to mentor and complications that may cause) but no motivation or direction except to have a student.

Which if you're making a waifu is fine, whatever but if you're trying to make a real woman you might actually want to spend time with you need to put in some effort when it comes to fleshing those kinds of things out because they usually seem to inform most other parts of their personality. 3D women are inherently more complex and interesting than waifu's fight me

>>
>>53423680
A conclusion is exactly what I think it needs, but none of my ideas stuck, or were hard to conceptualize as a CYOA section. Some ideas included a milestones section or a blatant quest section, but those are hard to justify.

I think I want to go with a "co-op" route, where the student accompanies you in your profession for a whole semester. I think it would wrap things up nicely and would deepen the idea of the mentor-pupil relationship (right now it's kind of vague). The problem is that I haven't figured out how to exactly make this a section yet. I have some ideas but they're weak for now, and I don't want to really spoil it further.

I'm not, though. I was under the impression that GoA didn't have an "official" option of using it as a CYOA, and acted accordingly. It'd be nice if it was given some "proper" CYOA mechanics (instead of the current "just pick whatever, nobody cares" approach). Bolding rolls/choices and the results thereof (or otherwise making them stand out) would be great, too (especially when they're located somewhere within a lengthy paragraph as opposed to at the start of one).

The implication that you don't understand the fact that there's a limit to how much detail per option a CYOA can give without it becoming inconvenient. This is a perfectly acceptable balance between providing concrete details about a more realistic person than your average "waifu" (and as you said yourself, since they tend to be very internally consistent it's usually enough information to fill in the blanks) and making each option a hundred page affair complete with a detailed biography and the answers to a dozen polls and questionnaires. Really? That's interesting. The people in it seem boring to me; they're dull characters despite being more detailed than CYOA waifus usually are.
>>
>>53423852
I wouldn't say most of those are stereotypes. A few sort of are, but the level of detail still means you get a lot more information and can develop a fuller and deeper view of each character than almost any other CYOA out there. Shallowness and conciseness are the essence of a stereotype, and while it's true you could define someone like Arielle or Kaylee in a single word ("geek" and "hipster", probably), it may be harder to truly encapsulate someone like Ha Nguyen, Okauyak or even Courtney and Diana that way without missing important details (e.g. Diana is MOSTLY a stereotypical rich party girl, but also has a passion for theater you can't just skip). And even with the more stereotypical ones, the richness of information tends to go beyond that. "Geek" may still conjure a near infinite amount of images, which Arielle's description narrows down considerably (emotionally aggressive, hard drinker, looking for a fuckbuddy, Japanophile, etc. all of those are regular geeky traits but so are being timid, clean, romantic and a D&D player, which she's none of).

I think they'd be interesting if I got to know them more, and to me, that's kind of the idea behind the cyoa: to entice you into building a persona around the framework you like the most.

>>53423907
I'll admit stereotype might not have been the best word to use and I probably made a more aggressive joke than I meant to. What I'm getting at here is that they're just a framework to build the person you actually want around. And that's fine, I actually hope more authors try that style in the future, but I think it also might be an issue for people who don't really like those frameworks.
>>
>>53423906
>Really? That's interesting. The people in it seem boring to me; they're dull characters despite being more detailed than CYOA waifus usually are
That's because they're still all ultimately very normal, realistic people. There seems to have been a conscious design decision here to make all of them feel like people you could meet in real life. That does seem to dull when your standard is half dragon cyborg demigod catgirl ninjas from alternate timelines.

I can't be the only one who finds it distressing the CYOA doesn't actually seem to have a PREMISE, can I? I mean, who are these people? Do you get one by magic? Go on a date with them? Are they just girls who exist?
>>
>>53423958
I see that as just part of the framework for me in that you decide how you met them. It's kind of interesting in that regard even though I'm trying and probably failing to not be a pretentious asshole and make this into some high-concept art house shit I can't help but kind of admire it. It's giving you these options and then, at least to me, asking me to come up with the rest.

It's kinda neat, but I get why some people don't find it interesting.
>>
>>53423931
>>53423933
Yeah, those are both fairly good points, I suppose.

I might be seriously biased because my interests run towards STEM stuff, particularly basic research, and that's not especially well-represented in this CYOA; I could be moderately good friends with most of the people in the CYOA (I hope), but my interests overlap with virtually nobody there aside from Arielle, who would annoy the fuck out of me. (I like video games, anime, and SF, but only in a very casual, intermittent kind of way, and I'm a laid-back person easily driven to violent fantasies regarding the "conversationally domineering.")

In other words, the fact that I don't find this CYOA interesting could simply be down to "I don't really want to know these people."

Then you're the person I've been talking about, someone who can't really fit someone they want into that mold, and that's cool.

I'd be interested if someone made DLC that included a STEM major though or something along those lines, I'm basically the opposite of what you described and it'd be interesting to see what kind of person I'd put onto that framework, or if I could at all.

It'd be fun.

The author could have added a simple "Your friend set you up with a date and has been telling you about her all week, she walks through the door and you see...!"

A few of those were among the great number of ideas I considered and eventually decided not to include in the CYOA. There was an architect whom I felt was too similar to Ha Nguyen, a physicist whom I felt was too similar to Courtney, and an aerospace engineer whom I felt was too similar to both Arielle and Shani. It's hard to keep girls both down to Earth and very varied when you get to such a level of detail and a sufficient number of options. Things begin to feel like either repetitions or remixes of existing options. I didn't want too many options, and those just fit best to both the ideas and good images I had.

That's why I said "good images". I combed through a lot of websites and far more pictures before settling on these ones. I wanted each one to feel unique and have a really strong, easily identifiable "feeling" to it, as well as include a variety of different facial and body structures, colors and styles of dress. I wanted them all to be attractive but not "model-like", and for their pictures to have a very particular sort of "casual" feeling, rather than like they were specifically modeling to be photographed. In a way, I guess it was just a kind of "know it when you see it" instinct when looking at a picture I thought I could use.

CYOAs are like those collages you make in kindergarten, where the teacher just gives everybody a big box of magazines and the kids cut out pics and glue them to a poster. If you're a NEET get out there and get some experience with a job, if you have a hard time with that you find something that you feel like you can do even if it makes you uncomfortable, graveyard stocking at walmart or some shit. Uh, well, alright. I don't really think there's any sort of indication about their sex lives though, if you're basing this off of personality alone. I mean, shy girls can be slutty too. High school taught me that literally anyone can be a slut, from the actual whores to the preppy ones to the nerdy ones.

Also, I don't understand what you mean by appropriate. These are young women in their 20s, they're not sheltered or ignorant of sex. I'd be concerned if that were the case of any healthy human being.

Plus, anon's point is actually valid. Between those 14 girls and being detailed to the point they are it's legitimately hard to find good pictures that represent something truly fresh and unique. Even if you go for purely physical appearance, he's already covered a lot of the scale for what people might consider attractive, and when it comes down to things like wildly varying personalities you're really starting to push it. Sure, you could make an infinite amount of girls who are sorta different, but I don't think "five variations on Arielle with different hair colors and movie genre preferences" is going to make the cut. I'd definitely rather have 14 very unique options and deal with the fact that none of them quite EXACTLY fits all of my turn ons than find one amidst a hundred slight reflavorings of the same five ideas.

>>53424802
Fair enough, I wasn't trying to write it so every option appeals to everyone.

Although I will admit that I had a hard time with those two descriptions, and i still feel iffy about them.

I consider Penelope the most unrealistic character there and unlike the others, I didn't base her off of real personality traits. Originally I was gonna make her a bitchy rich girl but decided not too, since I thought that was too typical. That said, other than a few sentence structure changes I have in mind for better word flow, I think she's going to remain as is.

As for Marie-C, she was actually pretty difficult to write. I still think her description is awkward, but I'll have you know that those hiccups were carefully placed. Joking aside, I was also going to make her a smug piece of shit who loves chess. Thought that was too typical too, and no matter what I tried, she came out as unbearable. So I made her drunk. Maybe I'll rework her trait section a bit to be more fitting.

Funnily enough, Harem Anon. I feel like almost all the characters he's done so far are at least detailed enough to star in an anime of some sort.
>>
>>53424836
I don't think so, I just don't necessarily think I'd be the person to do it.

You can kind of retread the same ideas and still have something fresh if you really wanted to. The STEM idea me and the other anon came up with for instance.

>Grew up in small midwestern town
>Parents were fundamentalist and deeply conservative, discouraged her from STEM field
>She pursued it, but was looked down on by her family.
>Went to prestigious school on grants and scholarships, did exceptionally well and developed strong work ethic
>Never went out much, kind of a weird recluse
>Drinks heavily, her way of coping
>Has little time outside of work and prefers to spend it inside
>currently works as an untenured professor at a well respected local university
>Politically a "By your own bootstraps" republican, but abhors the religious right
>Self professed atheist, secretly hopes for a life after death.

Off the top of my head. From what I can remember of the CYOA she isn't all that similar to any of the other options and she is probably appealing to someone out there.

Then again, I'm also literal human garbage so maybe this idea is ass, who knows?
>>

Yeah but almost all of those details individually are things at least one of the other girls have, or at least something close (e.g. Okauyak's family isn't quite sold on her getting a modern education). If anon is looking for wildly different things it's going to be exceedingly hard to come up with 7 new ideas.

There was a comic about this called Beauty. It pretty much was as you said, with the MC being subject to the whims of everyone else. Then she killed the hot MILF who took pity on her and then used the glamour upon her to mesmerize everyone into following her.

I mean, if you're beautiful enough to make someone go literally crazy for you, then work it.
>>
>>53424895
Ironic, Penelope's lack of parents and Marie's foulmouth are appealing apprentice traits to me.

I can see that you made Marie drunk for a reason, why would anyone pick a smug asshole otherwise? It would make her a kinda generic smug girl (ojou or whatever). At least if she's drunk and swearing you can read into her a little more.
>>
>>53425127
Typical female power fantasy, objectification being the great injustice that justifies all the revenge.
>>
>>53425233
MC was a huge, flighty bitch who kept abandoning the men who fell in love and sheltered her and when she got married to a king, she pretty much brought him and his kingdom to ruin. Then she finally got captured by a barbarian king who raped her and treated her like a servant, then she drove him utterly insane and got locked up by him in a dirty, crumbling tower.

I'm not saying it's not a power fantasy. It's just that it works within the context. At the beginning of the story, she was a shallow and stupid little village girl. She also had no sense of debt to other people and was abusive. She also had some bad things happen to her (when she first got her glamour, the men in her village intended to make her the village whore and the women tried to disfigure her with a hot iron brand out of jealousy; even though she was burned by it, the glamour cast upon her prevented anyone from seeing the damage done). That's not justification for how she acted. Bad things happened to her both because she was unlucky and as a consequence of her own decisions, and she grew up and matured and learned how to use the glamour to her advantage.

But I'm going off-track here. The point is, supernatural beauty is a viable 'power' that doesn't necessarily lead to you getting imprisoned and turned into a sex slave. Beauty played up the supernatural aspect of her beauty and turned into a symbol of divinity for her people. Anon could too.

>>

By that point, she knew better and what her power could be used for. Before that, she made men insane and brought their kingdoms to the brink of ruin. So it was a rather unfortunate turn of events, really. She obviously wouldn't want to be killed, and there was nothing she could do to convince the MILF to make peace with her.

The "mindraping" comes whether or not she wants it to. Fae gifts, you know? They're such shitters.

>>53425617
No. The first option sounds the most selfish and evil. To prize her own freedom over that of literally everyone else. Only the third one is reasonable, that way she doesn't mindrape people and essentially destroy them as human beings.
>>
>>53425634
It's toned down. The king she married went crazy because of her demands and her withholding sex from him. The barbarian king went crazy because her glamour only made her look beautiful, but she was still physically the same and she kept reminding him of this. Then she scared him by revealing how her beauty was granted to her by the Fae, and the guy was scared shitless of them.

By the end, she keeps everyone at a respectful distance. They're worshipful, but keep their distance because they're afraid of inviting divine judgement if they touch her. So yeah, they've become crazy fanatics. But they're still rather functional as people, which is a step up.
>>

It's mind rape. I don't care if she's raping them gently instead of hard and without remorse.

Also your earlier argument about her just being naive doesn't fucking hold up when you reveal that she was intentionally manipulating both the kind and barbarian into madness. That makes her sound spiteful and sociopathic in the king's case at the least.

>>53425740
Oh, no she wasn't? With the king, it was because she was being selfish. With the barbarian king, she just wanted him to stop raping her; the guy's wife (the aforementioned MILF) was also helping her out in this matter. She wasn't "manipulating" anyone; not until the very end, when she finally left the tower she was locked up in (her first act being to sic the soldiers the MILF brought to kill the latter).

She was a selfish and egotistical person, but she wasn't knowingly malicious. Just horrible without knowing it.

>>53425760
I have no idea what that is. But that's uncalled for. I'm describing EXACTLY what happens in the story. I haven't been bothering to argue at all; just specifying what's happened in the story and how things are portrayed.

The only thing that's my own personal opinion is that we aren't meant to be completely with Beauty the entire way. This is more of a "moral gray" matter. The anons wishing that the MC just killed or locked herself away are crazy. That has nothing really to do with Beauty's personality nor her own character development. Or rather, if anyone was in the same position, who would ever choose to do anything like that? It's fine if you hate her, but she's just doing the normal thing anyone would do at that point.

In the end, she wasn't a person who was worse than everyone else. She was a person like anyone else who got thrust into a situation beyond her station and ability to handle. Lots of people are stupid and selfish retards.

Like I said, she wasn't being intentionally manipulative. Her demands were flights of fancy; she went out once and felt sorry for poor people and asked the king to better their lives, and the king prettied up one section of the kingdom to show off to her while sweeping away the poor to somewhere she wouldn't see them. She was acting like a spoiled child, not some sort of mastermind.

who thinks her withholding sex was her being manipulative. And, tadah, I revealed that it wasn't. She was just angry at him for killing a friend. I'm not berating him over the head over it; I simply CLARIFIED the story for him since he didn't read it BECAUSE I was the one who brought up the story in the first place. You fucking rube.

The only thing I'm defending is Beauty's decision to not kill herself or become a hermit by EXPLAINING her situation and showing the kind of character that she would have developed. Someone who was locked up for years (long enough for her kid to grow up into a young adult) definitely wouldn't want to turn into a hermit. And, in fact, even if that didn't happen, no ordinary person would want that. You'd have to be either a fucking saint or someone with a MASSIVE sense of guilt (and the worst of all the things that happened in the story were because of others going crazy over her rather than her own actions) would become a hermit. I am not tinting things; I'm simply stating common logic.

And I'm berating and swearing at you because you're a fucking defensive retard who can't have an adult discussion with anyone who doesn't immediately bow down and agree with whatever you say. So, you know. You might be a lot more like Beauty than you think, you fucking retard.
