Infinity fags are weebs.
Everything triggers them.
>>

So what makes these guys different from regular Jump Pack Assault marines aside from the fact these are probably made to work only with the Mk X armor.
>>
>>53394963
As cool as they might be for some, i think that weird shit around their helmet and those weird guns are ugly as shit

Personally I think the blast shield would work better on the primaris marine heavy bolters but eh, I'm pretty much done with 40k at this point

>>

Definitely going to get some Primaris marines, but here I think I'll stick with regular assault marines.

Those are ugly as sin. Worse than Centurions even. I will never get the obsession with marines, most just look like toys, not models.
>>
>>53396124
A marine on foot doesn't have the vantage point the jetpack marine does or his ability to move in a more vertical plane. The jetpack marine would be able to fire from more places and move to new firing positions much easier than a marine on foot.
>>
>>53395695
Finally a marine for me!
>>
>>53397120
Guy on foot can take cover more easily though and be less vulnerable close up.

I mean, with most jetpack troops you get heavy weapons that an infantry dude wouldn't be able to use, but these guns actually seem kinda puny compared to the normal bolter rifles.

Just seems like a lot of effort to get a guy dual wielding uzis airborne is all.
>>
>>53396967
Given that they're snap-fit, I'm guessing that the back of the shield is the seam, so that the entire front of the bolter and the shield are one piece. So the seam will be really obvious unless you green stuff the shit out of it.
>>
>>53395968
It doesn't even look like they can hold up their bolters.
>>
>>53397182
Yeah. If they had Devastator guns or at least plasma or melta or something, that would justify the need for added mobility.

Yeah their weapon selection is retarded but the general idea is sound. Those new Cawl rifles they normally come with would work great with a jetpack, or a plasma gun or lascannon. I dunno if they'd be able to have a good flight ceiling or be as nimble with a heavy weapon though.

I like the normal Primaris marines but don't much care for these ones. They look too... round?

I think it's mostly that they've got the fat stumpy legs and smaller (Proportionally to normal assaults) jetpacks, they look like they're just imbalanced.

Plus why the double bolters? Shit's silly, and not in a "cool" way like a lot of 40k stuff.

A good example is the Space Marine game Assault class, it doesn't "fly" through the air so much as violently explode through the air, while these look more like hover packs to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUgmgB3TCBI
>>
>>53397429

Yeah but we could just ignore that shit because it was an obscure unit and not that great in the game.

But these cunts will be amazing to shill them, they come in the new starter box and they look like they're going to be the new assault marines. So I'm going to have to see them all the time.

I'm fucking torrenting 8E, I refuse to buy into where this shit is going.

The kitbash advantage lies with GW by far. I like and am glad for the new truescale 'tactical' Marines (even though I would have sticked with the vader-esque helmets, they're much more imposing with that not-mouth).

But I feel they've done some wierd design decisions with the flyguys and the captain. There was potential to get back at infinity, but as things stand, meh.

Keep in mind these new forces we're designed by our Lord Guilliman, probably to fill roles that he feels that the codex astartes is lacking. Special weapon strike teams and high mobility gun platforms are both things that marines lack... It's even very likely that the jetpack guys can take special weapons and that the starter just doesn't include them... They are, after all, Marine crisis suits.

Bikes are a mobile gun platform. Attack bikes especially. Landspeeders can form a similar role. Drop pod teams if you need them in the middle of something, and existing assault marines already have options in that regard. Further, the Hawk Lords have an STC for jump packs modified to use heavy weapons outright.

Furthermore, Rowboat was the one who wrote the codex and decided assault squads should only use flamers and plasma pistols anyway.
>>
>>53394963
Maybe if 8th edition is killteam friendly. I've realized that the most fun I've had in 40k was when it was small was in a Killteam Campaign, or alternatively a really big Apocalypse event where I bring by cardboard Stompas. It really shines if your guys are small part of a large galaxy. The in between usual tournament play just didn't do it for me, even if I won frequently in my local club against newbs. Then again I played Orks so that might alter my experience.

So I moved on to WM/H and Infinity, which was more Skirmish based, and I've liked Infinity more because I'm more a fan of Sci-fi.

Now, on to the models themselves ... they're ok. Makes me want to start a kill team with them as long as I don't see the price tag. Probably more expensive than they're worth, which I can see happening with units like Mek Gunz.

I've got a bunch of individually painted marines each from unique chapters so I know I like Marines for what it's worth. I'm happy for players with Primaris marines bringing "truescale."

The writing's on the wall. Within the next five years they'll update most of the space marine special characters to primaris scale and stop making normal marines entirely. The justification will be that all chapters have just upgraded their ranks entirely to primaris and new recruits will all be made primaris.

It would have been easier of GW to just say that they were updating the scale of marines and be done with it.

And it sets up a lot of really fucking stupid lore questions, like how Cawl was able to hide a stockpile of weapons, equipment and soldiers of this magnitude for ten thousand years or thought that he needed Guilliman's permission to use them so badly it was worth waiting through ten thousand years of untold horror and calamity at the hands of Chaos.

Someone further up the thread said they could be smaller thrusters mounted on their feet for maneuverability, meaning they might be a true jet pack unit that can fly instead of jump packs that can only leap distances. Plus, the split firing means that while you could take 5 dudes with Heavy bolters, a normal squad could also take 3 and a Lascannon if they wanted the extra anti-tank.

Plus, wasn't Guilliman, the one who wrote the codex, the one who decided that marines should use mixed arms in squads, since a chapter wouldn't have an entire legion's worth of numbers to afford guys being that specialized?

Why do they look more like Reapers from Starcraft 2 than Assault Marines from 40k?

Whats stupid is 20+ anons clearly don't see that they look like armored astronauts and their appearance clearly implies they are meant to operate in low or zero gravity environments. Even the stupid little gun shields give away the hint that they're a different kind of breacher, raiding enemy ships in naval boarding actions at a fraction of the cost it would normally take with a full boarding team and several drop pods.

I think there will be a separate melee type of Intercessor sold separately in another box, with weapons ranging from dual chainswords to rocket punches.
>>
>>53403822
I am saying that assuming that the wargear you see in the box set does not comprise the entirety of what the units can be equipped with.

>>53403810
>look like armored astronauts
They look like retards wth jumaphats, IMO.
>they're a different kind of breacher, raiding enemy ships in naval boarding actions at a fraction of the cost it would normally take with a full boarding team and several drop pods
So basically it's terminators withour heavy weapon and teleport.

Tau Battlesuits are bullied than marines and they float about.
Then there's grav tanks.

New tech and bigger backpacks allow for sustained flight.

I fucking hate that Corvus Belli uses such small photos for their models. I want to see the details before buying them god damnit.

I know right, there are "men" out there who even allows women to sit on their face, unbeliebable.

I think they confirmed as much. They're probably an elite choice though. Also probably going to be getting past terminator point cost with that.

definitely the new one. Centurion is basically a Hulkbuster suit designed for additional protection and heavier armaments

These new things, I'm not sure what the purpose is. The shield on the guns are throwing me off so much

These guns look much better to be honest. I'm expecting people to replace them and models will look a bit more tolerable.

I'd think the fishbowl helmet Primaris looks a bit less goofy than the clanker in that pic (although the platform shoes are crap)...what about the less cartoony-looking AdMech big bot?

well they are SPACE marines, who regularly operate in hostile atmospheres/the literal vacuum of space
>>
>>53404774
Yeah. I guess it would be more accurate to say that looks suited for extremely low gravity environments though. Larger angle thrusters for better control and manueverability, two guns since weight isn't as much of a concern, skids to magnetically clamp to things.

you lost me at point 3.

I don't know why people believe endless rule reference, the need for extra peripherals like cameras and notes are somehow good design decisions.

It isn't and Infinity ruleset far from perfect, yet still it's one of the most interesting skirmishes.

What did they update the rules that you have to throw away models in other miniatures?

Looks more like an artificer armor to me, it's clearly a Mk X, with its separate powerpack, but with a reinforced belly plate and an armored shroud around the head, and the larger round bit on the sides of the legs like the new jetpack marines.

WHY WOULD YOU EVER CARRY A FIREARM LIKE THAT?
