/tg/ I need your most terrifying, awe inspiring, causing adults to kneel and cry as they see doom on flaming wings, massive, primal, and ferocious dragons. Nothing that seems like it could be talked out of what it's doing or has any way to even talk. Just a giant, terrifying monstrosity. Or ones that look like winged, fire breathing dinosaurs. Those are nice as well.
Only the most terrifying.
>>53347179
I like your enthusiasm but I still need my players to sleep at night. I need something more animistic, less horror movie
>>53347240
Better?
>>53347159
If you weren't aware OP, the monster in pic related is a Tigrex from Monster Hunter. I assume you aren't aware of this primarily because monster hunter is full of creatures that would work for what you want. Try the Rathalos for a start.
Now for the classic.
All I got is this picture of a dragon fighting terrorists

>>53347159
>>53347306
I always liked the weightiness the monsters had. they weren't world-ending monstrosities, but they could still mess shit up. Like, if a tigrex moves in, the first response is 'oh shit, send a hunter before it eats the nearby villages.'
>>53347342
I'll see your implied dragon fucking with definite babysitter
>>53347401
That whore be sleeping around with other dragons.
Did somebody say artillery?
>>53347434
I want to disagree with the idea that she might be whoring for the dragons hoard. But then again dragons might not have any interest in gold in that setting.
I just think that big dragons can't look after their little babes properly so they enslave/hire people to look after the kids.
>>53347159
If you want one that's a somewhat more manageable size but still menacing as fuck then have this, one of the two coolest dragons from Dark Souls.Seriously, telekinesis is NOT a power you expect a dragon to have.
They don't fuck around in K-Pop auditions.

I love when dragons are basically God tier elementals instead of flesh and blood animals.
Is it possible to make eastern dragons terrifying?

>make Chamcham
>It's not a kleptomaniac, horribly toxic, OR stupidly adorable
>>53349395
Rather brilliantly, I haven't played the series it's from, so I get to make up stuff on my own without needing to reference anything. I just liked the art.
Plus, it kind of is adorable. It's a weird spacey dragon that lives with a lightning elemental lover (in its brain?) and is therefore distracted.
>>53347282
The way this looks I can only imagine some dragon camping out in the woods, setting up a tiny fire and tent because they saw some tiny 'umies do it before.
I like this thread
this is a good thread
This scene always gets me. What a good dragon.
>>53349180
When they are big they are spooky.
>>53349442
Chamleleos is an oversized, overly curious chameleon dragon (seriously look at it it's a giant purple chameleon with wings) with toxic breath (also steam breath), the ability to turn invisible, a tongue what steals anything that isn't bolted down, silly chameleon walks, a horrible hitbox, and yet somehow the thing comes off as being cute all the same.
A pain in the ass to fight, but cute.On the other hand, giving Dalamadur, the one you've got listed as Violet, a Godzilla beam is exceedingly accurate. Fucker does just that, just not invisible. Also drops meteors because it can.
>>53347654
Rajang is probably my favorite design from MH. Simple, yet not generic. Plus it's a DBZ reference.

Sounds about right. Dragons are tricky creatures.

That's not how you spell acid anon.
>>53349868
That's because it's not. It's steam, it's what it uses to make fogs as well, which if you'll note don't hurt to be in. But if it decides to just hit you with it you're fucked.
>>53347159
>>53349568

Hi guys, can I be a dragon too?
>>53349959
Right so why does the 'steam' inflict the Armour Down debuff?
And sure it does make steam/mist but that's never been an attack.
>>53350208
you are a bird
>>53347159
Dragonspider.
>>53350291
No no, these are birds. I'm clearly a dragon.
>>53350277
It takes that same steam it uses to make the mist, and just blasts you in the face with it. And goes all over the zone with it trying to catch anyone it can with it
Any advice on writing a a sentient dragon that servers under literal Lucifer?
I've been debating on including a dragon since I really like em and I love the idea of crusaders clashing with a big one
>>53350601
I guess you have to define how dragons fit into Genesis, then. Who made them, and why? Are they creatures like Leviathan, put there with the other beasts? Or are the dragons twisted reflections, things conjured out of Man or Angels?
>>53350668
I was thinking of perhaps a creation of Lucifer to mock God's creations, like its existence is made to spite God.
>>53350824
>I was thinking of perhaps a creation of Lucifer to mock God's creations, like its existence is made to spite God.
Well in that case, it's one of those things the faithful can disbelieve. A devout knight can "kill it" with a cross.
Luckily, adventurers are both sinful and credulous.
A dragon is a flying gate to hell. Look into it's maw and see the streets of Dis. When it breathes, it breathes hellfire that burns the soul and the flesh. Weapons suffer most of all. The fire will not burn churches, the pious dead, or sinless animals and plants.
The dragon's scales are black, like obsidian. They are made from the crushed crowns of earthly kings, who lost all they had upon death. They are the reliquaries of false saints and heretical bishops. One is the platter of Salome. Black with soot, black with age.
Anyone swallowed falls straight into Hell (no Save).
>>53350601
BUNE, or BIMÉ.--The Twenty-sixth Spirit is Buné (or Bim). He is a Strong, Great and Mighty Duke. He appeareth in the form of a Dragon with three heads, one like a Dog, one like a Gryphon, and one like a Man. He speaketh with a high and comely Voice. He changeth the Place of the Dead, and causeth the Spirits which be under him to gather together upon your Sepulchres. He giveth Riches unto a Man, and maketh him Wise and Eloquent. He giveth true Answers unto Demands. And he governeth 30 Legions of Spirits.
>>53347282
This is TOTALLY welcoming you back to camp. Adventuring with a dragon is a head trip and more hazardous than you would expect, what with how few people want anything to do with you. Dragons are also strange bedfellows, what with their unusual sleep cycles, their dietary needs, their unconventional social behavior and thoughts...
>>53351127
Are you sure you aren't the one with unconventional thoughts, little one?
>>53350601
Give him a weird power you'd think odd for a dragon to have. Also, >>53347659 is a pretty good pic for a satanic dragon.
>>53350601
The dragon, a creation of the original rebel, begins to realizes the contradiction of serving under a being representing freedom.
Perhaps because of this potential for free will it looks ghostly and ethereal rather than demonic.
It may desire to fuck off, either leaving the setting or lamenting on how it wished it could have as it dies.

Remember that Lucifer was the Angel of Light.
Have the dragon represent the light that lies deep within shadows or some shit. He uses a lot of dark related attacks and gradually swaps them out for pure and possibly holy light as he gets closer to death.
Maybe have the two start becoming indistinguishable as they start to bleed into one another visually.
>>53349568
While is rather civil most of the time, Grigori can also be quite the savage beast. It's an interesting take on the old-and-wise style of dragons.
You can talk with the guy, but you cannot talk him out of murdering everything.
Yes, that is a cathedral on his shoulder pads. Probably still a better place to live than the city on top of the giant chick and may or may not give blow jobs to this thing.
>>53347687
that guy's fucked, what's he gonna do, spear that thing? it looks like it's 300 feet long
dragonslayers are a bigger meme than dragons themselves
>>53348540
Wrong. It's best when dragons are basically god-tier elemental tier BUT still flesh and blood animals.
>>53352144
>>53349977

Oh. It did those things in previous games.
I'm...fairly new to the series, and did not know it did things differently in prior games than more recent games.
It's not that either of us were wrong, it's that the games changed.
