I checked the last thread and I didn't see anything related to "The Strange." Friend who works at a game store told me all about it and I so very desperately want to read into it. Does anyone know where to find it? I don't see a general for it on this board.

I've posted in the last couple of threads, and I've still been searching to no avail. I've checked Da archive as well as the Annex, all of the RPG IRC's I know as well as the /OSR/ trove. I've also checked many non RPG book IRC Channels, torrent sites and I for the love of fuck could not find either of these:

293 Freebie Files uploaded. That's everything from my personal collection and the last few threads.

If you posted something in thread and you don't see it in the Freebie Collection it's likely because I was somewhat strict in selection.

I made a point of searching each file online and only adding them to the collection if I could find a copy for free outside of /tg/ and it's various archives. It's kind of surprising how many of the old rags tossed around these boards the past several years are actually pay documents.

Watermarked 'Pay What You Like' PDFs have put a huge dent in free sharing these days. The number of files dated the past few years is tiny compared to any period of similar length in the previous decade or so.

Any Road... My game was cancelled today so I've got some time to dig into my research and expand the collection. I'm particularly keen to expand the Adventures and Dungeons section for now, as there seemed to be a nearly endless supply of them when I was researching the ones I already had.

It's great to hear someone besides myself is putting the files to use.

The H.G. Wells books were in there, but I just created a folder for them since I've done so for everything else that had 2 or more related PDFs.

Also I'm working my way down the lists you posted to fill in the odd gaps in the collection since most of them are easy enough to get with a web search. The list has also reminded me of some files on my drive that I just neglected to add to the m3g4, like Age of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Attack of the 50' Mutant Robot from Mars.

I have watched so many of these pdfs be requested, They are like fads. I am guessing some popular gaming Youtuber mentions one and lots of people jump on the bandwagon,
or something, I don't pretend to understand.

Catastrophe is a cute game made here,I understand it having a run or three of popularity.

I wish Merlin Township hadn't lost steam at the 79% finished point, but it wasn't much of a combat game, so I understand.
Maybe with Ryuutama and Golden Sky out there would be people willing to play it, but I have a tough time putting interesting conflict into such a warm setting.

As these were GenCon only, there was probably less than 50 copies. Only 1 copy has ever been publicly sold, by Mentzer himself (he probably has a few left overs, as he shows up at GenCon, and either gives rare stuff like this as a prize or auction).

If anyone has a copy they are not going to post it, as these were done on a dot matrix printer, and could easily be reproduced and bootlegged as legit copies, thus ruining their collective value.

Hence I don't even bother with the request.

Maybe someday we will see a official 5e conversion reproduction maybe from Goodman Games, as they are starting to do official 1st edition module conversions (announced at GaryCon this year).

I actually found a few things that had been filled recently. Perhaps there are some more that I don't realize are now linked. I can't mentally keep track of all the wonderful work that the Anon Brigade does, and am equally bad at finding things.

Anyone have the Clash of Kings book for Kings of War?

Does anyone have quantum black core rules?

I am looking for a few pdfs that may or may not be in English.

1. Satasupe - that's the whole title, which is short for Saturday night Special, an AsianPunk TRPG that's popular in Japan. The players play as "Akyou", a mismatch of heroes in modern-day Japan that was conquered and divvy'd up by other nations. Romance, gun, drug abuse... It's like the Asian Shadowrun.

2. Shinobigami. It's been getting really popular over in Japan, and there's an English kickstarter.

3. Sword World 2.0. I'll take anything on Sword World 2.0 - it's the D&D of Japan.

I don't mind if they are in Japanese or English, personally. And if there's any project translating them or any other system, I don't mind helping out either.

If anyone has the new Paths of Battle pdf for Shadow of The Demon Lord, it would be greatly appreciated.

May be a long shot, but I'm looking for any of the Index Card RPG stuff from Runehammer games; Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Core book. Gonna pick it up, but I'd like to look through it first.

A while ago I found a pdf that was basically a character creator. Went through early life and by the end of it you had the stats of your character.

And then my hard drive blew up and I lost all of my pdfs.

To help clarify my request, it output stats that could be used in dnd. It basically goes from when you're born and how you grow up, each thing influencing gains and losses to stats. You could do something as a hobby, carving or something, and gain +1 dex. And there's a major life event or something that happens too.

There's several rpgs out there that can be played with just two, Troll Babe, S/Lay with Me, etc. Many indie rpgs are good about this. Try to google the topic as there are many other threads out there on this. Some of these are already in the collected links. Most are one-shots. You could play other systems with judicious use of NPCs or maybe run a solo system and make decisions together (like Tunnels & Trolls solo adventures). I'll link up some options for you.

If you don't mind having most of it in Japanese, you can check out the wiki for the Sword World Fan Translation Project at

They have a couple of the books translated, but unfortunately only in wiki-page format.

However, they have links to several of the books as raw scans of Japanese original print editions freely (Likely illegally) linked through Mediafire downloads.

From the comments it looks like the project has stalled, or at least slowed to a crawl, bad news for those who don't read in Japanese. Though, if you do read in Japanese, it looks like there's enough linked there to get at least a basic game going. However, not speaking the language myself I can't guarantee that.

I like Savage Worlds for the variety of dice used, but it's got that "Do-Everything RPG" stink on it that's gotten a bad rep due to other games. (I'm looking at you GURPS)

If you don't mind rolling 20's Shadow of the Demon Lord is a nice because it's got it's own thing going on that's a little less of the Generic Fantasy you get with most DnD wannabees. But you need to feel the darkness and roll with it for this one. Grim for sure.

Also, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay is a pretty sweet d100 roll under system that lets you get your Fantasy on without getting any of the DnD Hand-Feel of the d20 Resolution Mechanic. Also Dark. Also Grim.

There's literally hundreds more, but that's a little sprinkle of some cool ones that are easy to come by in any share thread.

Regardless of what aspects of the Hobby float your dinghy, you will invariably find people in the world who find that the very same things sink their battleship. There's nothing wrong with this, it's just the subjective nature of human tastes. Please consider your surroundings before attempting to spark a debate that detracts from the purpose of the thread.

Question: If one were to want to 'Shill' a product, i.e. seek to spread awareness of, or extol the virtues of, said product for the purposes of monetary gain, would that person seek to have said product pirated and posted in a share thread where it would be spread for free?

Seems quite counter productive. Perhaps this person just wants to see something he or she finds interesting?

That's funny, because when we played it, it was a tile-set. And it's great for that! Wonderful co-op play, quite free-form.
