Reminds me of a first session i had with a very bad GM.. he insisted that we play d20 modern, so that should have been red flag #1, but it was in that grim, depressing era between when 4e had just come out and Pathfinder was not yet available, so, yes, it was the stupid ages.

We were all central crew members on a colony ship destined for the stars! Except, our ship was immediately pulled out of hyper speed and attacked by aliens whose technological capabilities far exceeded our own!

And they slaughtered 99% of the crew, leaving just us alive.

And then they rounded us up, and told us that they were going to dump the five of us alone on a rock in space and come back in 1,000 years to try and kill us again because we were such easy targets.

Oh, and they made us immortal in the interim.

The session pretty much ended there, and there wasm unsurprisingly, never a second one.

Its not just that, but basically in the Halo series, Humans are the children of a race of super humans known as the Forerunners, who built the halos and all the amazing shit with it. They got wiped out thanks to activating the rings due to the flood and all that jazz

Now the covenant worships the forerunners and there tech, praising it as holy and godlike. So the main worshipers which are the Prophets, who are weak as fuck old ass aliens find humans, who are based on there gods they start to think about what to do, because they basically found jesus to them.

Many of them have thoughts of humans joining up, making them idols or high figures and all that junk.

Then comes the Prophet of Truth, a really really big dick basically. He loves to be in power, so the moment he hears that they found the jesus of there gods, he gets scared about losing his power, because he never really cared about the religion and lies like a motherfucker.

So he basically says that humans are devils, and demons, and since hes the big shot and leader of the covenant they do as he says and start to assault human colonies that didn't even know about any of this

Close. Humans and Forerunners were peers at one time in the distant past, and both had huge space empires. But then the Humans allied with the ancient Prophets, called the San'Shyuum in their own language, and waged war against the Forerunners. The reasons are vague, seems the Humans had a kind of rivalry with the Forerunners, and were proud of their accomplishments which came close to matching the Forerunners despite being a much younger race. So they called up their chums, the Prophets, whom they had traded goods and tech with for a while, and said let's go take over the galaxy together.

It was a long and bloody war, made complicated for the Humans and Prophets with the arrival of the Flood on the scene. This significantly weakened the Humans, and since the Forerunners hadn't encountered the Flood yet they gained the upper hand. The end result was the complete annihilation of Human civilization in the galaxy. They were genetically regressed back into primitive apes and dumped back on their homeworld Earth, with all traces of their former glory removed. The Prophets were shown a bit more mercy in that they got demilitarized to fuck and weren't allowed to leave their homeworld anymore.

Then shit went to hell for the Forerunners when the Flood started attacking them too.

In role-playing terms, it would be like using a skill to get additional attacks per round with reduced accuracy and a high risk of failure, which would result in spending a standard action reloading as a penalty

In multiplayer, it takes 11 bullets to kill a Spartan or Elite, first 10 can be anywhere on the body, last shot must be in the head to kill. The battle rifle shoots in three round bursts, so it takes four BR shots. With RRX, you can shoot off four shots in the normal time it takes to shoot three shots, but afterwards you are forced to reload your gun, which can put you in a bad spot if you're unable to finish off your opponent. I'm pretty sure that the Humans and Forerunners went to war because of miscommunication and the Flood. Humanity had already encountered the Flood and they were destroying Forerunner worlds that were contaminated by it.

Sam was one of Master Chief's fellow Spartans from training. A lot of them didn't make it through the surgeries or whatever, but Sam was the first Spartan to actually die on a mission.

It was one of the first encounters with the covenant, when they were trying literally anything to score a win. Chief, Sam, and a third Spartan called Kelly board a covenant ship and plant a nuke to destroy it from the inside, trying to avoid a ship to ship battle before it begins.

During that fight is one of their first encounters with Elites, who in the books can fight Spartans basically as equals. The spartans win the fight, but Sam's suit gets a huge hole cut through it that they can't patch.

They are forced to leave him behind on the ship to die, because he wont survive the trip back through space to escape the ship before it explodes. So he stays back and defends the bomb, which is more of a symbolic gesture than a tactical necessity at that point.

But what I'm saying is that when your partner is willing to listen and you're not willing to talk, it's understandable that they're eventually gonna want to move on to someone who does. And when a startlingly large part of people who share your gender are unwilling to talk when your partner is willing to listen, it should also not surprise that they're going to consider moving onto a gender who are more likely to.

Ah, now that is an entirely fair point and I'll concede. Attraction to the same gender isn't something that's going to an attained lightly, and I myself grew into it only after a long string of disappointing relationships with women, it's not my natural inclination but it certainly grows on you if you let it.
