>So you're each carrying about 10 days of rations, right?
As a guy that spent time with the military no you are fucking not carrying ten days of rations
I decided to tally up my starting equipment from the D&D 5e Player's Handbook, all vanilla gear. Every character I've tried this with ends up over-encumbered. Every. Single. One. With the notable exception of an Orc (added in a later book) Barbarian who rolled lucky at character creation.
You won't be over-encumbered if you juggle your backpack and weapons as you walk anywhere. Finally, a use for Sleight of Hand.

I choose to carry 160 daggers. I will never be unprepared.

What is the weight of a backpack?

Better carry 160 clubs. They're free, you can still throw them, and you'll never accidentally cut yourself.
