It's mostly kung-fu films, with action cop, wuxia, and blaxploitation thrown in there. It's also got a future where a Chi-bomb went off and vaporized 99.99% of everything living, leaving the rest - mostly cyborgs, mutants, and hyper-intelligent battle-apes to fight among the Mad Max style ruins.

And this is arguably worse than the dystopia it replaced where scientists trap demons and evil magic in a plastic polymer which they use to build hideous weapons to enforce their corporate dictatorship.
