This is just personal preference of course but I really like Savage Worlds, Chronicles of Darkness, and Shadowrun. All the core books should have all you need to play with a huge collection of supplements if you want to branch out. Savage Worlds is by far the cheapest if you like having physical copies of the books. It's also a tool box so you can have something for everybody.

How about the Star Wars RPGs? Edge of the Empire, Age of Rebellion, Force and Destiny. They're alright, and good for roleplaying.

One does not simply buy Dark Heresy. One pirates it, of course.

I'm starting a game in FATE atm. Really like the system so far.

Also in a stah wahs game, the stah wahs system is neato.

Try a narrativist system if you're used to DnD, it's a completely different type of game.
