Has anyone got some assets they used to make homebrew codexes handy? Like the boarders/fonts/backgrounds. Imperial style if possible, Inquisition/Sororitas specifically.

>>
>>53244022
It's for character sheets and shit for Dark Heresy, but the stuff used on the /tg/ Sororitas codex is pretty much exactly what I want.
>>
If Orks beliefs become true when enough Orks think the same thing, how come nobody has used this for their advantage? Like Necrons raise an army of super orks that believe that Space Marines are actually super weak and can't be hurt by them?
>>
>>53244043
All out of fresh memes, too.
>>
>>53244065
>how come nobody has used this for their advantage
because it isn't a real thing
>>
>>53244079
Leave him alone he's fabulous
>>
>>53244065
I mean, that works to an extent. The Waaagh lets orks put their heads back on after being blown off with pretty rudimentary medical treatment, and the bolter was designed to kill orks by blowing them up in a way that convinces other nearby orks "zog, 'es a gonner" so they actually do die.
>>
>>53244065
Orks already believe they're da best.
>>
>>53244103
Then it's a matter of raising an army of orks that believe that being btfo by a bolter isn't enough to kill them, right?

>>53244121
But what if besides that they believed everyone else was the worst too? As a human I believe myself to be superior to say, a stray dog and an ant, but I wouldn't put them both in the same league.
>>
>>53244043
Goddamn look at that hourglass figure.

Fucking sexy bitch.
>>
>>53244147
Why would it matter unless the dogs are fighting ants? Orks already think they can beat anyone. They don't. It's not that strong an effect.
>>
>>53244065
The WAAAGH! is like psychic duct tape that works on an ork quantum level. It fixed broken things to work, it doesn't improve them.

A gun that wouldn't function shoots because WAAAGH! fixes it, as the ork doesn't realize it's not meant to function.

A jet that has no fuel takes of when an ork hyjacks it because the WAAAGH! fixes it, as the ork doesn't realize the jet lacks the fuel. (it doesn't materialize the fuel, the engines simply run on their own without it)
>>
>>53243876

How do you hide your Chinaman figs? My playgroup is very touchy feely with everything and they'll sniff out stuff.
>>

What about painting things red making them faster?
>>
>>53244065
>orks that believe that Space Marines are actually super weak and can't be hurt by them?

An Ork would never believe that because an Ork wants a propa fight.
>>
>>53244222
You know how one plain human psyker can make anything faster? It's like that except It takes thousands of dumbasses and still isn't as potent or reliable. Go read the lore and stop asking shit questions shitting up the thread.

Except we will because it has already been straight up officially confirmed. You think FW needs to wait for 8th edition to come out before they get to see the rules and make new datasheets for their stuff? The same design team that's been doing the rules for every existing GW unit over the past many months has also been doing the same thing for FW stuff in partnership with the FW studio.

Yes. Every Warhammer 40,000 miniature we sell today will be usable in the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. What’s more, they’ll be supported with new rules, which will be available from the get go in handy, low-cost books.

Even Forge World models?
Yes, even all of your Warhammer 40,000 Forge World models**.

sounds like we're getting rules instantly to me

>>
>>53245906
24" of AP-4 still sounds pretty good to me though.
>>
immolators with 4 melta shots

yeah nah
>>
>>53245906
Well atleast Multimelta is now tactical marine's most expensive weapon instead of gravcannon. But if Multimelta is same as meltagun but with 24" it will be very deadly weapon. "Melta"-rule now works against anything, not just vehicles.
>>
>>53245927
Yeah please
>>
>>53245866
Sauce
>>
>>53245940
the most important thing is that you can move and shoot rather accurately so infantry multi-meltas get a buff compared to vehicle mounted
>>
>>53245940
A tactical squad with a combi-plasma, plasma gun and a multi-melta would be 24" of pain.
>>
>>53245927

I'd like it but I'm expecting just two unless they decide to make multi-meltas something more than a longer-range meltagun.

On the other hand: I don't envy anyone trying to assault my Immolators now. 2d6 autohits from heavy flamers? Yes please.
>>
>>53245968
not sure how wall of death rule is going to work in 8th
>>
>>53245978

Well, we know overwatch is BS 1 shots but heavy flamers are 1d6 auto-hit shots with twin linked just being 'Double attacks'

So unless they've failed to mention some special thing, we know how it should work in 8e.
>>
>>53245923
>>53245906
The vibe that I've been getting is that heavy weapons are getting improved somehow, I'm pretty sure that every heavy weapon gets to fire more shots to account for the abundance of wounds that are being dished out in this edition.

Perhaps multi-meltas fire twice as many shots as melta-guns? (IIRC that's what twin-link does anyway)
>>
>>53245991
infatry units can now split fire so you won't miss lascannon shots on oncoming assault troops
>>
>>53244065
What is the Old Ones, thanks Trebeck I'll take races that don't count for 500.
>>
>>53245718
Multi-Meltas are the most expensive upgrade for Space Marines. More than a Plasma cannon.

If it's just a 24" Meltagun, then it will be absurdly overcosted at 27 points.
>>
>>53246027

They could toss it 1d6+3 wounds or something. So it's got a chance to 1 shot a dreadnaught.
>>
>>53245991
twin linked used to be you got to re roll failed to hit rolls
a large portion of vehicles had the rule because they had the same gun mounted twice e.g. parallel armaments on the wings of a flyer
now you just get to fire those twice which is an increase in firepower
i'm assuming models that had twin linked without dual weapons will simply get a reroll to hit now

On the subject of twin-linking and Immolators, will the heavy bolter be a viable choice now?

6 S5 -1AP shots at 36" compares well to the heavy flamers 2D6 at ~8" (I'm hoping for longer range considering hand flamers are now 6"), although heavy flamers have an advantage since they hit automatically.

That said, the multi-melta will be hard to pass up with two shots, both doing 2D6 damage within 12".

I expect those Factions to be Faction keywords as well though, meaning you can field all the AdMech in 1 army together.

In the Datasheets preview, the Rubric Marines had the Chaos, Tzeentch, Heretic Astartes, and Thousand Sons Faction keywords, and then the article went on to say that those are used for selecting a Battle-Forged army.

So going back to the AdMech, I imagine all Cult Mechanicus units will have Imperium, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Cult Mechanicus Faction keywords, and Skitarii will have Imperium, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Skitarii keywords.

Dunno. The way the rules are written, the "reroll" stratagem looks to be the only one worth using, especially since it's the cheapest and it can be used to re-roll anything. "Autopass Battleshock" looks incredibly cornercase (if you need it, chances are you're already losing a lot of points anyway) while getting a free "counterstrike" is a melee-only ability and doesn't favor MSU setups anyway.

Meanwhile, the reroll can be used for *anything*, such as ensuring you get the charge off in the first place, you don't fluff the number of shots your Exorcist...ahem, Leman Russ gets, etc.

Honestly, I'm not sure I'm feeling this edition at all. I might either go for whatever 9th Age equivalent comes out, stick with 7th, or go back to 5th.

The summon rules in particular feel like too extreme a patch in the opposite direction as well.

>>53247033
passing battleshock in invaluable for blobs
it can mean the diffrence between losing half your unit or the whole unit
meanwhile you only get to reroll 1 dice, "oh wow now my lascannon dealt 4 wounds instead of 1" honestly it's kinda underwhelming and will only have it's use when you fumble ridiculously hard, e.g. dealing 1 wound on a d6 when the enemy knight only has 3 wounds left. which might be fitting for a 1 cp option
>The summon rules in particular feel like too extreme a patch in the opposite direction as well.
howso ? in an ideal world (which is what tey're trying to go for) everything will be balanced according to it's point cost, so summoning free units would make you to strong. The ability to summon the units you need where you need them is strong by itself.

Summoning wasn't what made Daemons powerful. It was summoning alongside buffstacking, alongside just enough techpieces to nullify trouble units (ex: Using Masque to slow down Barkstars long enough for the Ordnance Tyrant list to do its job).

I agree some nerfing is ideal. (Ex: GSC Summons should roll a D3 instead of a D6 on the Ambush table). Making summons deduct points from the rest of the army defeats half the point of summoning in the first place (especially since armies that invest in summons aren't putting those same points into guns).

Making it a wildcard deepstrike...means summons will be a tool for null armies rather than for board prescence/attrition. Aka, fuck Word Bearers.

That's a good tenk.

You did a good job making it look like it just drove out of Kursk. The only place I'd recommend improvement is the viewing port on the turret. A bit more blending there would be spot on.

It also looks a bit too dirty but that's a matter of taste. I usually paint stuff like this; parade-ground-fresh.

Consider the Tervigon. In 5th edition, it was the only way to get "Free mooks" besides the Tomb Spyder or Chenkov's "Send in the next

Several thoughts include:
-Declare what you want to summon before you summon it.
-Make casting/denial not "all or nothing." As an example, 7e denial could have been "each success to deny removes a success to harness Warp Charge"
-GSC Summons only roll a D3 on the Cult Ambush Table.
-Horror Units which are created by Split do not generate WC for a turn (this doesn't apply to Horrors that join pre-existing units as a result of Splitting).
-Arguably, a model may not move on a turn it wishes to summon. This would represent actual focus on ritual shenanigans, rather than what happened at the start of 7e where you could have an Eldar Farseer with Mantle of the Laughing God move 12 on a bike, throw dice on a summon (Daemonettes for the irony, and speed to correct a bad scatter), save one WC for the Ghosthelm, then turbo to a new position.

It's possible to make free points work without breaking the game. Otherwise, Tyranids would have been OP back in 5th, and we all know how that turned out.

No way! Primaris Space Marines do not replace regular (if a superhuman killing machine can be described as ‘regular’) Space Marines. These guys have a few extra genetic enhancements, thanks to Belisarius Cawl, and serve as additional reinforcements in the Adeptus Astartes arsenal, not replacements.

This is the only part that seems to be wrong so far, since the article just mentioned they're all created with the geneseeds of the respective Primarchs and that its unknown how the new creation methods will interact with the mutations in some of the geneseeds (ie, we're totally getting Wolfier Primaris Space Wolves and Vampirier Primaris Blood Angels later down the line).

The lore about Primaris is exactly like we wanted it actually. Basically welcomed by some, but also viewed with defiance by some. That opens new possibilities. Looking forward to see the new Chapters composed only of them, here's to hoping they won't be Mary Sues.

Youtube it, theres plenty of guides.
>>
So are the nu-marines made from different primarchs' seed or just girlyman's?
>>
>>53247829
Red lad in the back is the sergent, hes a hero
>>

They have said that people are worried how they'll react to the more unstable geneseed, so the former option
>>

>the guy from yesterday was actually right
wew lads

>new chapters will contain all nu-marines
>existing ancient chapters and legions will be entirely inferior
great time to be alive

I think he'll be a captain.
Or a CAPTAINESSOR or whatever.
>>

I only got 1000 points, 2nd army, got tired of my 4000 points of orks so I went guard and bascially... did the same thing as I did with my orks
>>
Do I take it that death guard or primaries marines or Tau auxiliaries are the new army.

Or do you guys think there will still be something else.

I don't mind these releases, seem pretty cool just don't scream completely new army to me.

Calling them Primarines

>Tau auxiliaries
I wish. They've already confirmed the Kroot Shaper isn't an HQ, so it's unlikely other auxiliaries will have HQs either.

How long before we have a lazy shop of the Pokemon "Primarina" in Mk X armor?
>>
I really like the idea of truescale marines, and the armor looks badass...but the way they're incorporating them into the fluff is already hamfisted and there's a lot of potential for it getting even worse once more official fluff comes out.

Either way, I'm glad I never started a SM force, it would suck to be stuck with manlets.
>>
Were truescale marines such a thing that geedubs felt the need to come up with an entirely new model line to cash in on that demand?

I mean guys making truescale marines were already using GW bits. Its not like its a new market.
>>
so i have been away from 40k for a while and it seems they have started to move the plot. is there any place i can read what has happened?

My friend wants to make an army of Astra Militarium that aren't chaos but are rebels against the emperor. How could this work in the lore?

Think about people who want to do that without having to convert with a dozen different model kits and green stuff, etc, IDIOT

YOU KEEP HITTING THE FUCKING HOME RUNS, GEEDUBS
>>
With these new marines, what happens with Deathwatch? Do they receive a new batch of supermarines and these become blackshields until they die?
>>
>>53248672
All the different "real" chapters receive Primaris Marines and then they can send some of them to the Deathwatch
>>
>>53248724
what I meant is if Guilliboipussi sent some of them straight to deathwatch
>>
Welcome to 50 euros per 5 Marines.
>>
>>53248753
The Deathwatch doesn't work that way
>>
I probably wouldn't mind the new marines if it weren't for the ceaseless ultra-wank. I bet they only come with Ultramarines decals too.
>>
>>53248753
why would he send new toys directly to the Inquisition if he doesn't even like the institution?
>>
>>53248826

Deathwatch aren't part of the Inquisition anymore.
>>
>>53248794
I don't think so.
I think they'll be Liberator priced.
>>
>>53248883
>50 euros for your basic troop choice
This is the future the corporations want to create.
