What's a good system for playing as gods?

What kind of God? That's a pretty broad range, from omnipotent divine forces to powerful conceptual avatars to powerful, ageless entities that aren't beyond the scope of mortal men.

Nobilis is the closest, but Nobilis is a gloriously unplayable mess at the best of times. A fucking beautiful system, well worth reading though.

2e has a better book and more fluff, 3e is actually playable but the art is garbage. Try to track down /tg/'s art-removal edit of the book, it's way better.

It's rough but it can be fun. It was abandoned in Alpha. The point with the random gen is to have a randomly made character and not be able to change it, plus beginning points don't tend to matter since you can rack them up decently well if you focus on it.

I once used a modified version of NWoD's mage book to represent a god. Converted the schools of magic into various aspects the god may have control over and their degree of control on that aspect.

It's more of a world-building tool than anything else, but it's great fun when all the players play to their OC gods' personalities. Just make sure you all agree on a general endpoint for the creation, otherwise everything just ends up eclectic and weird.

Downside is that it's pretty fluffy, make sure all the players have some pretty active imaginations or you're gonna have a boring time.
