Sometimes we say yes, just because.
GMs, take notice, I know that some of you don't get this: one of the best things about playing is that we can take risky and sometimes even certainly lethal decisions without any real consequence.
If one drives to work but decides midway to say "fuck it" and go to the beach, he will have to deal with it later. Even worse, say you react during an assault, get shot and die.
In RPG, we can take those consequences because they aren't real. It is cathartic. Better yet, we are characters that have some chance of surviving and even winning whatever challenge requires such risks. We trust you GMs to have balanced it so.
>Are you sure you want to DO that?
[ ]do it
[ ]don't do it
[x]dew it
Out of character I know this is a bad idea. My character thinks otherwise and I'm not breaking character.
My GM sometimes does this, but only rarely for real bad shit. I think he does it to fuck with us and make us really think for a minute before we do shit. He uses it so sparingly and it isn't always 100% a ruse that we perk up when we hear that and start wondering what's up. Thank god for a fucking good gm.
