Then there is like group 1 b comprised of all the "I have trouble back home and just really need money characters, like the geisha and catgirl maid. Not quiet as strongly tied to the campaign but still both technically and practically engaged.

Group 2 is anyone with a reason to be here but no real personal investment in how it goes or what they accomplish beyond staying alive and doing good for themselves. Like Rekannas, Param, Sorrel, and Aiden.

Group 4 is like group 2 but they actually have a motivation that could conflict with the campaign. Raimi, Caleni, and Neyja.

Group 3 is the "special cases" that are hard to really group together because they all bring something unique to the story that could either be amazing and bring the campaign places far more interesting than just a team of all group 1s, or get really annoying and unengaged like a worse case group 4. It really depends entirely on player skill. Here Id put Merlynn, Amalthea, Priscilla, and Malu. But like I said grouping them feels strange and they really deserve individual analysis for even just this perspective on "fit".

I am neutral on the memeing for the most part but will admit I like discussing campaigns I am in. As I said above the issue is mostly our own fault. We tried to scout the place out, and ended up having combat occur, and since the place isn't big combat continued because fighting is really loud. From there on out everything just sort of snow balled. Likely it'll calm down after the battle market fight.

Hey guys, I have an idea for a character and I want them to have tentacles. The thing is, I want to keep it pretty narrow in terms of class (Magus) and race (Tiefling). I figure I can use the prehensile tail racial trait for one, and I would ideally like one more. It doesn't need to function as an attack or anything like that, just a means of holding things. Does anyone know of a way of getting something like that not locked into another class or race?

Okay, you familiar with Spheres of Power? Now, this may kinda break one of your conditions, but really the best way to do it is to make Sphere Magus then after the first 3 or so levels MC into Symbiat (Hecatonkhieres) and have fun with your dozens of psychic mind hand-tentacles.
O if you don't want to MC, then just take the tentacle feat from the Telekinesis Handbook. And if you don't want to be a spherecaster class, then just take the Basic Magic Training feat then the tentacle

We fought some devils, and I felt really ineffective as a bard. They were babaus with DR 10/Good OR Cold Iron. How do I make it so that I don't suck as much the next time that I encounter them?

I got some cold iron arrows to use with my longbow, bought some holy water, and bought a wand of bless weapon (it's come up enough, and will likely come up again). Is there anything else that I can do? I'm not spec'd for damage, though my UMD is pretty high (13 @ Level 4).

If the campaign were more serious, I would say she would transition into the one desperately trying to keep everyones souls alive in the heat and horror. Since its raunchy indiana jones, however, shes probably just going to legitimize the whimsical aspects of the campaign through sincere attempts to connect with the natives, understand their culture, and deescalte conflict, allowing for the occassional lewd or lighthearted themes to feel more natural and possibly even to contribute to more serious aspects of the plot while undergoing appropriate character development. One could say she could, marry, the tones of the campaign.

Most people don't actually do that in their games, because that's fucking stupid, but if Paizo's going to change a rule it should probably be so that you can use both the weapon and the ammunition's qualities to penetrate DR, which is how everyone plays the game anyway.

Am I getting burnout you guys?

Earlier this week my IRL friends told me that they weren't going to do my session anymore and I pissed off one of my players in the /pfg/ version of the same session into ragequitting for the night, and after both of these incidents happening pretty much one right after the other my will to play has pretty much plummeted.

My IRL friends are looking to play Rebels, and though I want to support the girl running it since this is the first time she's going to be the DM in our group I just can't bring myself to thinking up a character for the campaign. We have a handful of other sessions that we're playing in this group that I'd still love to continue, but I just can't bring myself to making yet another character.

I want to play a Toriko-esque campaign where it's just a bunch of friends going on an adventure and finding interesting monsters to fight (and maybe eat after beating them).

You'll have a lot more fun playing witch than most other full casters, it's got a decent spell-list but not the greatest and it has a ton of variety from hexes. Overall it's got a lot more room for flavor and GM interactions than a wizard does, especially once you implement talking to your patron through the Mirror Witch archetype as an example.

We're already playing Curse of the Crimson Throne (also known as Unlucky Red Chair), Vengeance, Wrath of Winter, and a couple of other non-AP campaigns where even if the tone isn't quite as serious as those APs the stakes certainly are, is it so wrong to maybe want to mix things up a bit and sometimes play a campaign or session where things aren't quite so gritty?

Don't get me wrong, I love what me and my friends have done in these campaigns thus far, they're a lot of fun! But if I have to play another Game of Thrones-esque scowler for another game I think I'm going to scream.

well, there are archetypes that give up the familiar for something else. scarred witch doctor gets a mask that he can use craft wonderous items on, bouda and gravewalker get an item that lets them cast touch spells at a distance. are there good witch touch spells?

Make a character who has a goal slightly different from the usual grim and gritty stuff. Someone who grew up in that environment and learned early on that there is no immunity when the knives start coming down.

A simple goal like "get enough money to get a boat out of here" or "buy some out of the way business to keep me fed without making me a target". Still plenty of opportunity for interacting, but at a chiller pace.

Has anyone in Garund even heard of Gorum? Do they have any interesting Chaotic aligned gods down there if not?
