Why are those maps all separated into 9 sqares? Looks weird and artificial.

Considering how every terrain feature appears to be contained to its own square, and the rivers all line up along the middles, you could probably cut them apart and arrange in custom ways for different battles.

It's mostly noticeable in the small thumbnails, but not as much when it's enlarged. The reason they're like that is because tiles were used to make the map. The tiles are also freely available on that site, if you want them.
