>played this game with a friend on TTS
>thought he was enjoying it, but every time I ask to play more, he doesn't want to

Should I just bite the bullet and play solo? I like the game, but I usually enjoy things like this more with friends.
>>
>>53142809
Might as well try it, but take your time. I've fucked up in solo play more than I would like to admit and made myself redo a fight once because I just didn't notice something with my single set of human eyes.
>>
Does anyone still have that template for making new Kingdom Death stuff? I remember it being posted months ago, but I cant seem to find it in the archives.

I'm planning on writing up Kingdom Death stats for some of the monsters in the recently released Dark Souls boardgame. Probably Titanite Demon, Belltower Gargoyal, Frost Knight... Maaaaaybe Ornstein and Smough if I can figure out a good system for them?
>>
can buy dis game soon please?
>>
>>53142809

I got a friend like that, too. You'll be better off playing solo, unless once per seven months is good enough pace for you.
>>
>>53143690

Geologically speaking, yes.

Daily reminder that breeding the Anonymous Survivor doesn't make you gay.

Also, updates when? Fuck, it's felt like months since we got any concrete updates after poots showed off his 1/8th scale Cock. Where's the Male Manhunter pinup? Where's the full sculpt of the Oblivion Mosquito? Where's the Parasite Queen from the Wailing God expac? So many unanswered questions!
>>
>>53142809

The hardest thing to do aside from tracking everything is resisting the urge to fudge rolls when your favorite dude suffers a head explosion
>>
>>53145347

"It didn't roll properly, it just slid."

"Whoopsie I did not mean to roll it just yet."

"Ah, the dice fell on the floor. I cannot accept that."

"Ah, the dice fell on the floor. I guess it's as good result as any..."
>>
>>53144361
It's less that it's shit and more that it costs more money than it adds to the game.

Lion God is more shit than it is, but people are only backpeddling on it because of the Expansion-expansion it's getting for 1.5 to make it more than an unfun difficult boss with no worthy reward.

The tree has a terrain piece mostly, but is also a nemesis encounter that you fight via a random hunt event. The fight is interesting and rewards minimal but not a total waste of time. (which is much more than dickbeard has going for it)

If you ever find it going for $40 with its gameplay content included, it's worth that price.
>>
>>53145418
>>53145347
You're better than me at rationalizing that stuff, anon.
Bone Eater eate my best? Nope, fuck that, that's not happening.

My TTS save fucked up enough that I'll have to start a fresh file and import stuff, but there's so much to reset, I think I might just start a new campaign, knowing more and playing more honorably.
How messed up would I be though, in the current campaign? I've fucked around a lot in the first several years because I didn't really know the game, so I only got a full rawhide set by like year 8. I was at year 13 when things went wonk.

Also, if I'm starting fresh, is it worth adding any expansions in, or should I do at least one whole campaign vanilla?

What do you think is the origin of some of the weird events that happen in-game? Is lights in the sky a sunstalker eating its settlement?

>>
>>53147928
We were playing blind. Had no idea what any card we hadn't drawn was.
Two of us went for the Inner Lantern endeavor of Lights. One of us got a fighting art of our choice, woo!
The other got +1 understanding and set up Skull Eater for next year.
The one with the fighting art became the Skull Eater. The Skull Eater roll result was 'get some stat bonuses, also MURDER next year'
Proceeded to get the guy who caused Skull Eater killed...in the battle. By accident. Stupid antelope trap. And then Murdered the NEXT best person in the settlement.
>>
>>53148096
This fucking game, man.
>that's xcom, baby!
>>
>>53148161
Then comes the Butcher, and the same guy who'd died to Antelope gets killed by me activating a trap AGAIN.
And my newly-legendary lunged murderous cannibal bites it a turn before he dies in the scrag. By hitting ANOTHER trap.
Fucking traps.
Only four deaths so far even. All of them directly because of this one bitch with a knife. And because the settlement's wiseman stared at the sun too long.
>>
>>53145842

I'd say at least get comfortable with the core game before you start throwing expansions in.

I want to play with another /tg/bro.

I own the game, but my copy is in another state with my brothers. We never got very far, getting totally decimated pretty early on a few times, and then schedule conflicts keeping us from continuing a game we managed to get a few years into.

My brothers don't have the time to play, I now live in another state, and I don't have my physical copy with me.
So I was wondering if anyone would want to play with me online? Semi-regular, like every Saturday morning or something? Or whenever we both have time?
My Discord is Chad#3441 if anyone is interested.

I just really want to play this damn game more.

If you're into the models, I'd recommend picking up some of the smaller ones with in game components on the store. I'll be purchasing Allison the Twilight Knight in a few days to get my feet wet on building the models and to see whats in store once the game arrives over the summer (hopefully).

And if you're going to GenCon, Poots should be there shilling the product. I believe he said that he is going to try and have some product ready to sell by then but he isn't sure.
>>
>>53150465

Awesome, thanks.

In that case, a question for the thread:

How would you rather I implement monsters? The hope is that I wont be the only one using these.

Limited mode: use mashups of cards from different Kingdom Death creatures as much as humanely possible, with very few (or perhaps even none at all) new cards.
Pro: doesn't require any extra work for anyone beyond sorting
Cons: very limited customization and inability to represent certain things not already in the game, requires players to have all of the same expansions I do.

Tryhard mode: mock up new cards for EVERYTHING
Pro: looks cool
Con: lot of effort to print out and turn into a useable deck even after all the work is done. End result may not look all that good or shuffle well.

Poorfag mode: use a deck of simple playing cards as a proxy, and assign replacements to each card. Aka, a big table that says "Ace of clubs = tail swipe, 2 of Clubs = overhead smash..."
Pro: quick and easy to do, cheap and easy to implement. A single deck of commonly available playing cards can be reused for all of the new monsters.
Cons: probably kind of slow in play, since you will have to look up what a card means every time you draw it.

At least high five him in the balls for making such an awesome but boutiques limited game.
Ask him why he seems so hollow in all the pictures.
Is the scribe real and poots is paying his humanity to make the game?
>>
>>53152847
Most of the custom content I've seen has been garbage cause people don't know what the fuck balance is or understand why people hunt certain monsters on certain year milestones etc.

Like the dude that made that lovers encounter. Neat idea, but holy shit the showdown sucked sunstalker dicks and the rewards were worse.
>>
>>53152856
Man if I was going I'd see if he was selling the Guts figure. It was my favorite of the extra figures and I wasn't able to put more money into the kickstarter to pick it up. I'm hoping that with the money he got from the kickstarter he will be able to produce the game more reliably now. I think a lot of people would like that.

I'd probably ask him how much sleep he gets on a daily basis. And how it feels knowing that everyone following him on kickstarter saw him back a vibrator. maybe not that last one, but it'd be pretty funny.
>>
>>53152893

Yeah, that will take some work.

The one I have put the most thought into so far is the Belltower Gargoyle, where the goal is to beat the Garg and ring the bell. Ringing the bell grants a random permanent buff to the survivor who rings it, with increasing effects based on monster level.

On top of that, if I can do custom cards I hope to do stuff like cutting off the Gargoyles tail giving you the axe, like in the game. So you hope to score crits in combat and get free gear that way, rather than introduce unique Gargoyle resources and a settlement location. Lastly, Gargoyles drop scrap when they die, with a chance of dropping Iron. They do have a lot of metal on them, and the rock they are made out of is presumably useless.

Which I figure makes them a decent mid to late game quarry for farming blacksmith materials and making your already good dudes better faster, with the hope of scoring a Gargoyle helmet or free shield.
>>
>>53152847
You're welcome.

Services exist that will print custom decks on demand. so i would not worry that much if someone wants proper decks they can pay for one (just remember to make you're cards high res enough for this option to be possible).

Don't forget that TTS exist you or someone else could do a expansion in it with the decks so the effort of printing and the problem with shuffling would be solved.

Anyway good luck with the expansion either way.

If you follow a creator on kickstarter, you'll be sent a notification if they back a project. Poots uses the KDM account on kickstarter as his main account, so naturally a lot of people follow him. During the 1.5 kickstarter campaign, he kickstarted a vibrator here is a link to the KDM kickstarter profile. The vibrator is on the second row. https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/poots as a gift for his wife. He completely forgot that everyone would be notified about his, so 6000+ people saw that he was getting a vibrator for his wife.

You should do a full souls expac where you can't hunt the first nemesis (Kweelag) until you ring a level 2 bell.

Or something.

Bonus for including a skeleton hoard/wheel encounters. Kalameet is a bit like the nuclear dragon with a pull mechanic and more tail whips.

Currently, counting models big enough to matter, this includes:

Ornstein and Smough
Gargoyle
Frost Knight
The Dancer
Titanite Demon
Winged Knight
Giant Guard, I guess?

There are more monsters to come in the followup packs I backed, but I don't think wheelskellies or Queelag are among them. Kalameet is, though!

I remember during the kickstarter, there was a guy talking about expansions/custom expansions and saying that there has to be a reason/purpose behind each addition, rather than just "it would be cool if..."

I somewhat agree, so my question /kdm/ is what sort of thing do you want a new expansion to solve? I'm working on a custom campaign right now set in a desert-like environment, currently have 3 quarries and a nemesis in mind, one of which is fleshed out with full AI/HL cards and such. But I'm trying to decide how to tie things together and what I can do differently from the base game that makes it worth playing other than just "more things to fight/craft."

I like the ideas of your settlement learning to sand surf and "fish" in the desert, and also of uncovering lost tombs to explore. And I have some ideas as to how to implement that. But I still think I need some sort of overarching gameplay theme. People of the stars is super survivors with constellations, people of the sun is a gauntlet into a boss rush. What else do you want to see?
>>
>>53158165
Lucy a best.
>>
>>53158179
That sounds like an idea I had with a "Caravan" type settlement.

The idea behind it is that there's a limited amount of gear and/or locations you can craft because you have to keep moving on the caravan.
As a tradeoff some of the hunt events could be mitigated. Or larger groups on a hunt so if someone dies you can "swap in" another guy. Like the Scout of Death mechanic.

I didn't really think of monsters at all or anything like that. I feel like that's the last thing I would get around to when designing new stuff.

Well with some of the new dungeon mechanics (for the tombs), you could use the constantly shifting sands to create some funky situations with changing the dungeons in the middle of a fight and having unpredictability of the board be something interesting.

Can't really think of anything else I'd want to see, but I think it's an interesting idea that I'd love to hear more about.
>>
>>53158283
I like that idea. I only have 1 monster really fleshed out. Two of the quarries are more ideas than anything...the white lion equivalent is a scorpion, while the pheonix equivalent is a giant burrowing sand worm. And one of the nemesis is a whirling dervish type fighter who can control sand.

The one fight I DO have really fleshed out, is something I was originally calling the sculptor until I realized that's an actual thing in the KDM universe and I wouldn't want to co-opt Poot's characters, so I'll have to rename it. But it's a quarry fight for its level 1 and 2, where the "sculptor" stands in the center of the board without moving, and it summons 4 statues that fight in its place. Each statue performs the actions of each AI card at the same time, so there's lots of attacks being made. But one hit destroys a statue, and once all 4 are down, the sculptor is open to attack for a turn. I've tested it out in TTS a few times and I definitely need tweaks to its overall design and balance, but it came out better than I thought.

The level 3 version would be a nemesis fight thats triggered once you've fought a certain number of quarry versions. He's pissed you've been destroying his statues, and he shows up to stop you. This version of the fight is a lot more brutal and has him actually moving around.

I worked a lot of stuff out for him before thinking about how he could be included in the game, and then I thought of a desert based landscape, and then it just kind of steamrolled from there.

So I guess we're opposites; I went right for the monsters. I definitely think a caravan type thing could work though, I like the idea of constant movement, perhaps limiting available hunts
>>
>>53158386
Since it's the desert you could do something like;
>Man of Salt,
Make the pillars salt pillars, when they get destroyed they exploded and damage your consumable gear (because of salt). Or something. I feel like destorying them in melee should be risky.
And maybe once you kill him you get a free cooking recipe or something cause you can now preserve bugs and food with the salt.
But it's your dance, sounds neat though.

Yea the whole caravan idea is to make the survivors travelers instead of making a static settlement and the tribulations that would come from that. Limiting anything and everything would be pretty fair game imo.
>>
>>53158423
Maybe a sort of "push your luck" sort of deal, where packing up and moving is something you control. So you can stay in one location and gain whatever benefits it gives (such as in this case, being able to hunt the nearby monster) but the longer you stay, the more negative effects start to pile up. I'd love to work with cooking more, it's definitely underutilized. So a salt man could work.

As far as fighting the statues go, I mixed up their HL to be a pretty large amount of "stone" locations and "fleshy" locations. The stone locations have higher toughness and usually have a reaction or two while the fleshy ones are easier to wound and give resources on crits, but there's fewer of them. I also gave them an instinct called standstill which is a reaction on a lot of HL: they move next to the closest survivor and stand guard, increasing their toughness, and if a survivor takes an action next to them they either suffer brain damage from the statue staring them down, or they have to cancel their action.

Also the trap is a statue exploding. So fighting statues at close range isn't necessarily the best thing in the world. I don't think I would want to punish people for successfully destroying them though.

I like the idea of making them salt or something though so that they have something extra to add in besides just parts for gear. I think I'll work with that.
>>
>>53158509
Maybe if a different quarry was at each location and took a year or more to go down levels. If you hunt them too much back to back only the strongest will remain.

>but you're playing Sunstalker so you don't have surge

>>53139672

I'd say yes. Surge isn't part of Sunstalker via innovations, but the Suneater ability allows you to use Surge regardless of that, so it's part of the Sunstalker campaign. If a Sunstalker ability allows you to use it, and this other ability allows you to use it too, then use it.

i love this game but the RNG sometimes just takes a giant shit in your mouth. Feels bad losing a campaign to a series of shit hunt/settlement events.

I like KDM but the fact that the early game is so bottlenecked and similar makes starting a new game such a chore.

Did future expansions help this at all or is it still the same basic choices.
>>
>>53161817
Early game still pretty similar.

However the other campaigns can change things up a bit. People of the Stars feels a lot better than vanilla overall.

You can still get fucked by certain hunt/settlements events that are only mitigated by lategame innovations though.

Do we have any idea when the 1.5 update kits are supposed to ship?

The KS website says 2020 but I've heard the updates are coming this year. Has there been any official or rumored release dates?
>>
>>53162368
>>53162268

According to Poots on the kickstarter comments, he's hoping to have everything ready to ship for wave 1 before GenCon. So hopefully that will mean that everything will be good to go and shipping around mid-July if we are lucky.

Here's the quote from Poots in March for the lazy: "Our goal is to get Core Game fulfillment underway or finished before Gencon, so that we can bring units for sale. I have no intention of selling Core Games before Backers are shipped theirs. We'll see how it all goes over the next few months tho!"

>>53142341
Weird, why is everyone nude in that game?
>>
>>53168081

People spontaneously come into being in the darkness without any equipment, memory, or language.

Lore wise, some godlike being literally just writes groups of full grown people into existence from time to time, which is also why everyone is physically a 10/10.
>>
>>53168081
They're not nude, don't you see the lionclothes?
The guy >>53168213 is talking about is so generous he gives them LOINCLOTHES and LANTERNS!
>>
>>53168268

Whats hilarious is I am pretty sure that, in the eternal darkness, those lanterns just attract nearby monsters. Which is why you get jumped by a lion the moment you wake up.

The loincloths, presumably, are just because the Golden Entity saw the plans for the human farm and was like "Gross. Cover that shit up, Scribe."

So, here's the most important question of KDM:
what deck should you pull from for rolling a 7-10 on monster corpse
>>
>>53168723
Too variable to have a specific answer. It depends on what you need, what you're currently hunting, HOW you're currently hunting it, what expansions you're using if any, etc
>>
>>53168213
>godlike being literally just writes groups of full grown people into existence from time to time

I've got Gorm and Flower Knight added to my current solo campaign in TTS, what else should I add?
I'm breezing through stuff due to some pretty good rolls and card pulls, but I'm still worried about lvl 2-3 nemesis monsters.
Any part of expansion that can be added to ongoing that helps me get more population would be great, wanting to get more use out of collective toil.
>>
>>53172164
I mean... you can fight Spidicules and have a... 20% chance to get +1 population for each survivor that gets to the showdown, but then you have to juggle the whole Taken event.

A late game enemy might be interesting. Sunstalker or Dragon King, Lion God or Dung Beetle Knight.

Holy shit, automatically shuffled and duplicated fighting arts, disorders -- being able to craft gear from a catalog instead of flipping through my gear binders (I use a 3 ring binder full of coin collectors' pages to store gear cards in) -- being able to drop the fucking quarry onto a tile that populates the hunt board, and then on another tile that pulls out the correct amounts of random terrain -- goddamn, man. It's so convenient, and I really, really wish the physical game were this convenient.

Constantly shuffling around decks and all that shit is tiring and annoying. Doesn't stop me from having fun -- I do love the game -- but man, those conveniences.

So question, from someone who only loosely follows this stuff, and mostly for the great art: Why the fuck is this game near impossible to get ahold of? Is it not made by a company or something, just some dude in a basement or some shit?
>>
>>53177264
The creator is an autist who insists that every version have the same level of graphical detail as the original.

He was okay with not causing a ruckus when people originally pirated the game system, but then some people gave him shit over pirates so he felt obligated to shut that down. He's stated that he's looking into how to digitize the game, but that was two years ago, and there's been no comment on it, since.
>>
>>53177264
The game is made by a very small company that gets all it's funds for large print runs off kickstarter.
The first Kickstarter although successful was so aggressively priced they barely made their money back and thus the second Kickstarter happened which hopefully should help them get the ball rolling properly.
In general though the first run of the game was made in very small quantities, there's maybe 10000 copies of this game in existence right now.

2 rules about playing in TTS you need to constantly remind your host to follow:
1) Always save at the start of every hunt, showdown, and settlement phase.
2) NEVER take things out of the box. Right click the box, click search, copy the deck or bag you need, then paste the copy onto the table. The same should probably go for equipment cards, but those don't get deleted as often as monster decks.

All I know about it is that it's got some very lewd (but also very high quality) models, it's complicated, people like it, and you can't buy it at all if you didn't back a kickstarter that ended in January. Also, how is there a kickstarter for a game that is out and people are playing?
>>
>>53179633
They didn't make a profit on the first run of the game (that was also kickstarted), so they turned to kickstarter for a second run.

Most of the lewd minis aren't actual game pieces, their bonus guff for people with too much money.

The game itself is about managing a little settlement and hunting monsters to survive in a world of eternal darkness where everything is out to kill you, think Monster Hunter meets Darkest Duungeon with an almost stone age setting.

There are three phases of the gameplay, the settlement phase where you resolve events, do settlement stuff and spend your resources, the hunt phase which is mostly just rolling on random tables to see what happens while you track down some huge monster and the hunt phase where you actually kill the thing (or more likely it kills you) which is the meat of the game. There's videos on Youtube that go into more detail just search for Kingdom Death and you should find them.
>>
So, the wait for the core game to ship was too heavy a burden to bare, so I ordered Alison the Twilight Knight and the pin up version of the Order Knight off of the KD store. Gonna paint them up and keep the cards and game content safe until my core game gets here.

Does anyone have any painted pics of these 2? I have a general idea of how I want to paint both of them, but I'd love to seem some other anons works as well.

The rules are pretty clear in the achromatic scripted. It's like tabbed, with buttons for sections like rules, hunt events, and the like. Glossary.

Haven't found it to be unclear. Maybe people are just stupid mongs. Maybe you are, anon.
The unclear stuff is how the mod functions, but the important stuff isn't that hard to pick up, once you see how everything is layed out.
What the big colored tokens above each survivor are and the Next Round solo tool thing is, I have no idea.

>>53179165
Rise again, if you would, for that is our curse.

POOTS IS BUTT TIME
I rolled 8 on the Clinging Mists event, and now I gotta decide whether to hunt again without passing go or start over. It's Year 3, so we're modestly kitted out, a bow, an axe, but we're down one survivor.
The clarification in the FAQ says to not heal and to not generate endevors, but if you're following RAW like the First Story and Settlement Phase tells you, you've already done so before turning over the card.
What. The. Hell.
That's what I did, and I don't remember the wounds I had because I'm using scripted and hit the button.
I hope 1.5 moves the event card to the start of the settlement phase, if that's how Poots wants things to be, but for now I'm going on a three man hunt and keeping my goddamned endeavors. I just got nightmare training last round.

Wish me luck, I need those double resources

Wait, does bone witch immediately force anyone not deaf to endeavor at her?
Cause it goes 3 Insanity>everyone is now insane>returning insane survivors Must endeavor at the witch camp
So in addition to immediately fucking over your endeavors for the year unless someone died and you have graves, there's a pretty much guaranteed (you have to not roll 1-4 4 times) chance she'll show up again three years later, and if you get a "good" option she fucking steals an innovation you have to have already been failing at the game to get?
And then accept darkness gives you a Massively higher chance to be completely unable to use survival/trigger traps more often on brain traumas rolls, in exchange for brain traumas being unable to kill you directly?
What the fuck, why would Poots make two completely shit options?
>>53189471
Fuck.
I don't even know what resources I got when for having these. I've only had more than 1 for 2 years.... I guess I'll just delete 3 of them and say fuck it it evens out.
>>
>>53189536
>>53189471
Oh, but they all had heavy gear that wasn't scavenger kits as well, either the only copy of a item I knew was unique, or a weapon, so this >>53188202
still happened no matter how far I would have to turn back time to have not created the kits.
>>
>>53189536
Sorta. Being deaf protects you from her.

Depending on how you think the game works, you could potentially consume resources you are carrying in order to lower your sanity after the witch spikes it, as it is ordered actions with periods (in other words, stops) between. Lonely Ant can let you do this, from the top of my head.

There's also, I think, a Fighting Art that keeps you from being insane until you have 7 insanity.
>>
>>53188202
Don't automatic events happen before random events?
>>
>>53190269
What are you referring to?
Cause it's Settlement card>update deat count>timeline, in the order they were placed.
It wouldn't make sense another way, there's a bunch of cards that work with just the returning survivors, and others have 'lingering effects' meaning they explicitly continue on into development.
For example, clinging mists wouldn't make much sense in the reverse..
>>53189675
So she basically just shows up every 3 years, does 2 or potentially 3 awful things, until you have some combination of death, insanity countering, reduction, and deafness for every survivor?
Jesus.
I missed the *gives everyone insanity* the first time, she only nabbed 2 people and I got "lucky" with her only taking my guidepost and tried to teach another.
>>
>>53190417
There's gear that causes deafness, probably specifically, to counter her.

Satchels can be used to bring lonely ants into the fight with you... but yeah, it's a rough event. Some people purposefully tank the fight to dodge her. You could presumably use the Run Away event to do that too, since survivors who run away aren't technically "returning survivors," I think.
>>
>Even in the unforgiving, inhospitable, unrepentant cruel world there are individuals who still seek to help the vulnerable survivors
>>
Are there any happy endings in KDM? Most of it seems to be "You lose" regardless
>You beat the final boss, you all die
>You lose to the final boss, you all die
>>
>>53191294
Depends on how you define happy, I suppose. With the Hoard of Lanterns you have a chance of surviving and starting another colony somewhere, but that settlement is screwed because you no longer have protection against the nasties that the boss was keeping away.
>>
>>53191361
Thats what I don't get. Some of the expansions don't seem to take place in the same settlement as the Watcher, and some characters can survive in the darkness without the Watcher's influence, like the fucking Bone Witch. How is it one exile can survive with fuck all, all alone in the darkness, but a settlement of hardened, skilled hunters can't. Fuck, I'd expect monsters would still steer clear of the settlement if the Watcher dies, since they realize something there killed that nightmare.
>>
>>53191538
>Implying the bone witch acts alone.
>>
>>53191538
That requires the monsters to have more upper brain function than "food" and "danger." The Watcher, as something the other beasts know is dangerous, kept them away but now that he's gone they just see your settlement as they did before they got close enough to know the Watcher was there: a gathering of delicious peoples ready to be nom'd.

They don't understand that you killed the Watcher, they just know he isn't there anymore.

>>53191538
I thought it was implied somewhere that the Bone Witch survives by ditching whoever she's with the moment shit goes down.
>>
>>53193762
Plus she's strong enough to pluck the Halberd "effortlessly" and never fail (which means she's strength... 11?) and knows both
Extra Sense and Monster Claw Style. Plus as noted, she is very good at running away. To the point where if she rolls on it, she has no chance to die. Additionally, I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be associated with actual magic use.

Also the Bone Eaters event will apparently include humans that survive in the darkness... and maybe are associated with the Bone Witch?

>>
Whats with the sky in KDM. Some descriptions mention that there are lights in the sky, some descriptions mention theres enough atmosphere up in the clouds that something as big as the Pheonix can pass through without being seen, theres also giant fish monsters up in the clouds, but when the sky is revealed, it's just a ceiling of stone faces under a thin layer of clouds. How can there be lights under it, or enough room for anything to live in the clouds

How to fix Lion God? I hear rewards are terrible when compared to difficulty.

Now, after all it's the LION god... would getting a random White Lion resource fix anything? I doubt it would make Lion God a preferred quarry, but would ease the chore of "farm the white lion" that tiny little bit if you actually choose to take your chances with this particular god.
>>
>>53197222
Lion God is devastating. I dunno if one WL resource cuts it.
>>
So what does the TTS module come with?
>>
>>53198668
I guess I should be asking which modules do I need to learn how to play this game before buying it?
>>
So what's the deal with the Twilight Order. They are supposedly out to defend humanity, and the hooded knight even shows up to help the settlement, but mastering the twilight sword causes you to up and abandon your home and leave your friends and family in the dirt.
>>
>>53198668
The TTS version has all the rule books and everything you need to learn to play.
The starter scenario will give you most of what you need to play. It starts with your first fight, then it walks you through the settlement phase.
As somebody who's new to the game, I think I managed to get a pretty strong grasp after the first couple of hunts. Just make sure to read through everything a couple times as you go and pay attention, and you'll have no trouble.
>>
>>53193890
That raises a question. The guidepost is left behind by the kings men, and it can help the settlement, but it is also a clear mark that tells that the kings men were her and will return. So...is the Bone With trying to help by taking the halberd, or is she trying to hurt the settlement.
>>
>>53199394
It's possible she just needs the halberd and how it affects the settlement isn't even a concern for her.
>>
>>53199446
True, but then she would just grab it and go, but she takes it when she's leaving, like its on her check list. Also other visitors take the guidepost too, from what I understand
>>
>>53197222

Lion Knight
Sunstalker
Spidicules
Lion God
>>

Gotcha. Which one is the actual module you use? I hate using the steam workshop because you have to shovel through piles of shit to find the one thing unless you know exactly what you're looking for. The one I've found doesn't have the rulebooks.
>>
>>53200985
Isn't the reason given for not running other expansions with Stars so as to not dilute the fighting arts and disorders decks, so that you can actually GET the dragon ones via random chance and not just 'get this one automatically/choose one'?
I'd think adding that many expansions would make that part of it a lot harder.
>>
>>53201433
Nevermind, I think I found what I need.
>>
>>53196186
This picture makes me curious about four things:
what monster has the most bone ratio to other types?
Naming survivors, the first 4 won't get anything since they don't have a skull totem yet, right? So that auto +1 strength isn't as useful.
And then IMO luck is the best stat bar none, but am I actually correct in this, especially for a skull campaign where I imagine the list of weapons with deadly would be much smaller?
>>
>>53201781
The name thing is part of the overall variant. It doesn't require hitting first year, I'm guessing it's just there so it's easy to remember.

>>
So is the Scribe the reason behind everything being so fucking shit in the game world? Would killing him change things?
>>
>>53202683
Ya got pics of that? I can't remember which ones those are.
>>
>>53203389
>>
>>53203385
>Everything?
No. The world is, and always has been, populated by monsters. The Scribe is responsible for a handful of those monster, but so are the Golden Entity, Satan and other high level god-like beings who rule various parts of the world.

>Would killing him change anything?
The original final expansion for version 1.31(?) involved killing or at least fighting, the Scribe. Considering how Poots has had the other "endings" work out, it probably wouldn't do much. Especially if you extrapolate the Kingsman's curse on a higher level. I'd guess you kill the Scribe and then he just takes over your body.
If you managed it permanently, then presumably there would be no more Kings, King's Hands, or Kingsmen. There also wouldn't be newly made humans scattered about. So you'd see a slow death of humanity in Kingdom Death, with a few bastions like the Great City or the Golden Lands keeping up their numbers thanks to the Entities behind them wanting to maintain their current status quo.

In the end, I'm pretty sure this is a setting without "good ends." Well, maybe that will change if we get Kingdom Death: Labyrinth, one day.
>>
>>53203616
I live to overturn bad ends.
It's a border-line fetish at this point.
I await more expansions. Till the time I can cut every God-like power in Kingdom Death and wear them as new hats.

Thanks for the answer anon.
>>
>>53203671
Well there's a story in Kingdom Death about a settlement of humans who became so powerful they could defy a great entity, they all died, cept for one, but he eventually killed that same entity. So it shows that even humans can overcome god-like beings in Kingdom Death, I mean he has to drink the blood of powerful opponents for the rest of his days because thats the only thing that quenches his thirst thanks to a curse, but he's still...mostly human.

I hope we get to learn more about the Great City
>>
>>53203385
>>53203616
>>53203671
Kingdom Death is a playground for the various super-powered Entities, the god-like beings that inhabit it and the humans are the favoritest playthings of them all.

Getting a Good End for humankind would probably be something infeasible as you would have to cultivate humans to make some kind of Human-Entity or Human-God to coldcock the others or try to pull a Twilight Order.

Despite the IMMENSE amount of tragedy, horror and bad ends in Kingdom Death, there is actually a notable amount of kindness in the setting. The Tyrant, the Black Knight, the Lion Knight, the Flower Knight, the Twlight Order. There was even that White Speaker, who, despite her whole order pretty much being all about ending humanity, tried to use her last breath to warn the settlement of the Slenderman

A little. Not too much, but at least a little. The pre-KDM lore notes that they were harassing and wiping out local human settlements for their blood magic.

Not as much since the Twilight Order broke them in half though. Now they just sorta... survive, like everyone else.
>>
>>53204015

Black Knight for sure but the Lion Knight is a massive dick to militaristic settlements.

It would be a nice change of pace to have an expansion involving the Twilight Order and growing into a hardened settlement truly capable of fighting the darkness.

I have a theory that the Twilight Witch has some connection with a settlement that had to deal with a Watcher, seeing as how she is dressed in a way to resemble a Watcher. It would be a neat connection to the base campaign to see survivors of a Watcher settlement

It's true all the problems in Bloodborne were a result of foolish humans trying to attain power they could not comprehend, and Old gods just trying to help, but what was clear is the Hunter's Dream was rotten, and it is through your actions that the dream ends, and the plague on Yarnham is lifted.

You could but you'll need to tied the stat bonuses to be proportional to you're male population or have a penalty on the intimacy to limit population increase after the event happens.
So people just choose all newborns to be females to have the stat increase and be able to hunt.

In which case everyone else you meet is still trapped in a hellish cursed nightmare, with an ever increasing chance of overflowing into the real world.

The true ending doesn't do anything to help that except kill like 75% of them along the way.

I don't want another lantern fest repeat anon

Agreed, makes it more like a game+ deal where you've managed to stay afloat with your settlement and can now actually create a minor city.
By far one of my favorite models is the twilight order weaponsmith.

Their asthetic and lore is cool and would add another dimension of play
Man v. Man

I feel they're only "bad ends" in the relative sense - would you consider the end of the Roman Empire a "bad end"? In the same way, you're going to die eventually.

All the campaigns end with the collapse of whatever fragile human civilization you've built, but the abstraction of Lantern Years in gameplay terms imply these are probably civilizations that went on for quite a few generations.

Anyone got a sense of how the non boss fights will work? I'd hate if it was just random encounter cannibal hotties, borrow rules from shadows of brimstone or hero quest and throw dice until dead

>he didn't go through all the resource decks and create a table of what percent of each monster resource deck is bone, organ, hide, or consumable
I bet you don't even do calculations for your rolls after seeing your hit locations to figure out which to hit first.
