I need fun RPGs that can be done in one session. I like Everyone is John, and Lasers and Feelings is something I might try later, but do you guys have REALLY easy to learn RPGs that you know about?
Numenera. Character creation is simple and the game's mechanics are fairly easy to pick up.

Fate Accelerated is pretty easy, cuts out a lot of the confusing bullshit jargon of Core so it's far simpler to pick up.
GURPS Ultra-Lite is very simple despite what some anons' initial knee jerk reactions to the word "GURPS" will cause them to believe.
Mini Six is super simple.
And then there's just tons of two page rules lite RPGs out there that you could pick up and play in the same afternoon.

Playing PARANOIA is mandatory, citizen.
The rules are above the player's security clearance.

GURPS-lite is fine. But standard GURPS? No, that is a fucking mess and anyone defending "hurr fukn 30 seconds of thinking" is either a troll, or a mathematician.

No, in actual play GURPS standard is not that hard. Skills are 3d6 roll under your rating and damage math at its base is just #d6 minus armor deducted from HP. No different from Lite and Ultralite.
It only gets more complicated the more sub systems you tack on, and all the fucking ridiculous prep work for GMs and number crunching for character creation is understandably a big turnoff for a lot of people.
GURPS's complexity is almost purely outside of the actual game session itself.

I know nothing about Gurping- but doesn't this mean that the farther you stats get away from 10.5, the more significant they become? As in, incremental statistical increases (or decrease) are not of consistent value?
Traveler.
Drop them in the deep end, OP. Make sure they die in chargen.

I got non rpg players ready to play en less than an hour with their characters created from scratch by them. Also npc generation is as easy as choosing a number from 1 to 10.
