So, I'm kinda out of the loop but I heard about this Eldar lady and how she is making a weird move and actually making an ally out of Living Saints and Guilliman himself, but I also heard that she has Dark Eldar under her command.

How does that work?
I can understand other Eldars but Dark Eldars, why do they follow her?
Do they see it as a chance to escape their fate? Are there really Dark Eldar who would leave their dark ways behind if they caould?

I'll give you the tl;dr

Yvraine (the chick in OP) is a herald of Ynnead, the eldar god of death. Ynnead was recently prematurely awakened, and if the eldar can collect a bunch of ancient swords and perform a ritual they can effectively kill/maim slaanesh and not have to worry about their souls being eaten.

It's appealing enough that all kinds of eldar (craftworld, harlequin, dark) have banded together to make it happen. Not all eldar agree with their methods though (they almost destroyed Beil-tan), so the new group is effectively treated like a new eldar faction, now called the Ynnari.

It's supposed to be part of her arena fighting outhfit (the last job she had before being offed right at the moment the newly-born Eldar death god was looking for clerics was as a Succubus). Or, ratheer what she wore when entering the arena. According to Jes's notes, the outfit is designed to look fancy but also so that she chan just step out of it when the fighting starts.

Why the pseudo 18th-century looks, though? I don't know, though I do think the kind of fancy aristocratic look does fit the Dark Eldar, at least the Archons and the other elite of their society.

When the Dark Eldar got their big reboot in 5th edition, in one of the videos Phil Kelly made to reintroduce them to the fanbase, he specifically mentioned that he imagined a lot of Dark Eldar are deeply unhappy with their situation but don't feel like they have any other options. There's a reason why the Harlequins haven't just given up on them.

I wouldn't like them to kill Slaanesh, he/she/it is too much fun to be killed, but they could sever the grasp Slaanesh has on the Eldar, leaving the reformed Eldar to be the first xenos to truly side with the Imperium, the stupid remaining Eldar keeping to their reclusive ways with the added bonus of no Slaanesh to drink their souls, and maybe a few truly evil Dark Eldar that do not need to torture in order to live but still do it because they like it.
Also I imagine Slaanesh would get an even greater murderboner towards the Eldar, even more if they manage to get Fulgrim beaten and humiliated, via Guilliman, perhaps.

Next they need to bring the Tau into the Imperial fold. Maybe not all of them, perhaps only the Tau Empire or the Farsight Enclave, both would most likely never join together.

Probably wouldn't have been cost-effective. The same reason he didn't just make his entire army out of Custodes. Marines are essentially the "good enough" option. Far superior to average human while still being able to be produced in large enough numbers to make up the legions needed for the Great Crusade. He could've made them even better, but the increase in costs and time to make them might've made mass-producing them impractical for relatively little gain when standard Marines are already superior to most opponents.
Even Guilliman's "Marines++" aren't replacing regular Marines, they're just added to Marine chapters as reinforcements (will probably be an elite unit in the game, with regular tactical squads still being the basic troop choise).

They're not even thinking about that. The fact is, while eldar are often described as tall and slender, few sources actually elaborate on how tall. Very rarely will you find a source that says 'they're almost as tall as marines bro.' Even official artists don't draw them that tall.

It's just not a big part of how they're described, so people forget about it.

False. Fluff has stated that eldar are can be easily mistaken for striking humans, with their unnatural grace and subtle movements being the first thing that differentiates them. If they looked like jumped up greys, this wouldn't be the case.

Personally I kind of wish more descriptions went with the solid black eyes, too, so it wouldn't just be artist-canon, but I'm not going to pretend my preferred vision is right.

Yvraine is the champion of the newly resurrected Eldar god of the dead and if the Eldar find some artefacts they could perform a ritual that would kill Slaanesh. Though all Yvraine did so far was fracturing the Eldar and resurrecting Girlyman so GW can sell some new space marine models.

She's the prophet of the Ynnead. Remember that big death god the Eldar were supposedly brewing in their Infinity Circuits? Turns out it's not just a myth, and Eldrad's gambit to wake it up actually half-worked. It's beginning to stir in the Warp and it anointed this Yvraine chick as its messenger. She then proceeded to united a fuckton of Dark Eldar and Craftworlders under her banner.

Meanwhile, Cadia is getting fucked. Abaddon crashed his Blackstone Fortress on it, destroying the pylons and devastating the surface, causing the Eye of Terra to expand and consume the entire sector. Yvraine and her Eldar, foreseeing some important shit, turned up to ferry the last Imperial defenders, including Celestine, a ye olde Inquisitor, and an ancient Archmagos of the Mechanicus that had recently been sorta rediscovered, away through the Webway.

Chaos shitters tried to stop them, but they eventually made their way to Ultramar, popping out in Bobby G's stasis room. Yvraine used her nascent god powers to heal Roboute's soul and Mechanicus dude used his ancient superknowledge to craft the Primarch a life support suit that would let him walk around and slowly heal his body. Bobby G made for Terra immediately, and Yvraine's Eldar helped him get there, since blah blah this is important for the future etc.

Roboute is now Lord Commander of the Imperium and expressed disappointment when Yvraine left to go take care of other matters, stating that he'd prefer to have her and her warriors at his side while he makes the galaxy great again.

Well, Necrons have no love for the Warp, and they were the ones that made the pylons that were holding the Cadian Gate open, so they'd be very useful allies. They also actually have a lot in common with Eldar, both being ancient highly advanced races that have fallen from their past glory and now find the ruins of their fallen empires occupied by younger races.

Problem is that they're both too arrogant to ever admit that they actually have a lot in common and it'd be better for both if they put aside their grudges from fighting each other several million years ago and teamed up to kick Chaos ass.
