>>53104143
I think we should start over.
>>53104138
They aren't feral, they're from a deathworld, which means it's a planet utterly imicable to life but was still colonized for whatever reason. Probably for reasons pertaining to said Titans. Incredibly rare materials, underground forges?
>>53104143
A cult of women who wed themselves to the titans, like an even more fucked up Sisters of Battle? Since Titans are supposed to be effigies of the humanity and representations of the machine god aka the Omnissiah aka The Emperor
>>53104162
>start over
>>53104143
Angry mechanised deathworlders specialized in cleansing Hives by razing them to the ground and killing anything that comes out alive.
They are very effective, brutal, but tend to mostly kill and discuss never.
Mostly good at dealing with Genestealers.
>>53104179
This whole regiment is stupid.
>>53104208
>>53104207
Sounds like we need to send them to Klandathu
>>53104207
PERFECT!
the planet has a ton of mineral resources and some of them are used to build titans...as such the mechanicus lets the planet have some titans at their disposal from time to time. The planet is just outside of the habitable zone and as a result is very cold and most of the population live in geothermically heated canyons. To go onto the surface members of the population are augmented to be able to withstand the cold the birth rate is somewhat like children of men...through eons of birthrates their are now slightly more females then males..as a result the planets entire military force is female.
Op here, i'm going to take a crack at making sense of this clusterfuck.
Snowball 12 is a shitty little piece of shit ice world utterly unremarkable except for an unusually active interior with pockets of thermal activity and rare, valuable materials. Naturally the Adeptus Mechanicus colonized said world and turned it into one of their secret forges for the Titanicus. Massive underground complexes mine and refine the materials found there, using the magma and thermal pockets of the world itself as power generators and massive forges that build and repair titans. The world itself is governed by the Titanicus, and they have a Princeps school on sight there, making the planet over all incredibly important to the Titanicus. As such, it bristles with defenses provided by the Titans themselves. However Titans have one glaring weakness - they are hueg. Titans are not good at interior or urban warfare where you DON'T want everything wrecked.
Enter the Brides of the Iron God
As the government and society of Snowball 12 revolves around the Titans and the Princeps themselves, the Princeps themselves are like chieftains, and have many wives who serve their Princeps as Moderati and Adjutants. Less senior women serve in the Brides, who operate as infantry support for the Titan Legion, competing for the right to bear the Princeps children or serve as Moderati in battle with their husbands. Though not extensively trained, they are well equipped and hardened by their lives on the frigid iceplanet, and fight with exceptional religious zeal as they see the Titans as manifestations of the Emperors wrath and power, and their Princeps husbands as their chosen.
>>53104344
Recently, a Tyranid hive fleet has begun to bear down on the small but important forgeworld, prompting a bitter struggle. Massive machines of war stride across the snowy wastes of the planet giving battle to the slavering all consuming hoardes of Xenos filfth, while the brides wage a protracted campaign underground to protect the manufacturies from incursion.
>>53104244
>>53104256
Their system produces Titans but is targeted by Genestealers for obvious reasons.
The women are exported off world to limit the risk of contamination. This makes them really angry. Also, mechanical augmentation includes removal of reproductive organs.
Since they are really angry, but well formed from birth to deal with the threat, they are mostly used as a mean to deal with Genestealers. Should the infestation be too developed, they call in the Titan brethren to raze everything to the ground.
On the other hand, they tend towards excessive firepower at all times. Augmetics are a hell of a drug, and carrying multiple weapons is common. They are not that numerous after all.
pic related for obvious reasons.
>>53104259
In ages past various hive cities in the canyons would fight each other for various supplies and the best spots for geothermal energy, long isolated from the rest of the imperium the planets military forces are considered undiciplined by imperium at large. Within the last couple centuries a small hive fleet splinter group has made its way into the nearby sectors mustering the majority of the hive cities together to combat this threat.
>>53104259
A good start, but we can expand further. Perhaps there was a male regiment that was sent off to Cadia during the 13th Black Crusade and a Leviathan Splinter Fleet came soon after. Our regiment is a stopgap measure, raised in a rush and thus lacking in discipline, but replete with metal and faith.
Freja's Purebred Infantry Regiment
The planet designated as 'Freja' has been a place of turmoil and dissension since its early days in M35, once a proud Forgeworld it now lies in eternal nuclear winter due to reason yet to be discovered by the Imperium. The irradiated air has left its population split between the ravenous mutant hordes and its more normal population that lives within the remains of its Hive Cities and the ruins of once working Forges, thus it is not surprising that the people of Freja value their purity of genes above anything else leaving fertile females as a valuable and often worshiped asset within its society and infertile women as undesired and often scorned by the population at large. It is because of this tradition that the world is ruled by a matriarchal council and conscripts both men for its PDF and gives infertile women as tithe for the Munitorum.
Though the planet itself is mostly a barren wasteland of ice the Adeptus Mechanicus has set up a base of operations in the system, with several moons acting as Titanicus training grounds and building facilities, perhaps a remain of what the system used to be. It is because of this connection that the populace in Freja holds the Mechanicus in special reverence and the god-machines as idols to be worshiped, a living representation of the Emperor's Wrath.
Due to the planet's mutant population the Purebreed regiments are specially adept at Hive Warfare as the PDF is constantly retaking old Hive Cities or fending off assaults on their own cities. It is because of this that the regiments themselves are specialized in recognizing the mutant and purging them, an expertise that has been exploited several times against genestealer cults in counter-insurgency operations.
Our results were interesting but I think they stumped some anons. I'll file this and the idea's away, maybe start another thread for the funsies.

Also we were led by a warlord but he died, but it's ok because LITERALLY EVERY NECRON IN OUR DYNASTY IS STILL SENTIENT and we like to experiment on humans and have a haughty fascination with the younger races.

and this chart:
http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/homebrew-40k-fluff/116455-necron-dynasty-generator.html
>>53107841
So if we recap the thread:
An elite all female militia from a freezin deathworld allied with the Adeptus Titanicus who hate Tyranids.
Tyranids who seek to recover something they lost, presumably to the Necrons. Necrons they seek to dissolve in acid.
Necrons who are really good at technology and who may or may not manipulate the deathworlder along the Titanicus from their evil hideout hidden within the deathworld. Who may be drawing the Tyranids into a trap to study them more in depth along with the Warp, and who may be experimenting on the humans to boot.
And they are all sentient and underhanded.
So, trying to fit all this together.
The deathworld provides elite guards for the Titanicus, all females because reasons. Probably exchange for the resources of the Deathworld.
Possibly, this could work in a rotation so that the women may give birth in good conditions. On the other hand past a certain point they are augmented to fight for the Titanicus.
Due to Necron shenanigans, the neighboring hive worlds suffer Tyranid infestations, so the guards are sent in to cleanse the area regularly. The deathworld is oddly left out of those raids, which does not raise suspicion because its a ball of ice.
In fact, the Necrons are the reason why that world is a ball of ice. Its a tomb world, hidden from the Shadow in the Warp, that serves as study and research towards the elimination of the Warp.
They are also the reason why the Titanicus recruits mostly females for the regiment: They are studying Mankind for possible transference. They are also ensuring the Titanicus is not aware of that through superior technological prowess. Also, the Void Dragon.
The richness of the deathworld is because the Necrons are using their spyders, scarabs and wraiths to shift material around. They have a lot of those, so its easy to fake mineral resources. Or something.
tl;dr Necrons are why nobody can have nice things.
Moving forward a bit, since the Necrons are all sentient and used to serve and underhanded warlord who is now dead, there are plenty of splinter factions. While this does not affect day to day activities - they do not want to be found out and they remain loyal to the Oruscar Dynasty - this does mean research tends to lack proper direction.
This also explains why the regiment is undisciplined. Due to Necron influence, they are loyal, perhaps too loyal. But they may also have conflicting influences. This may also lead to Magos skirting tech-heresy.
The Tyranid infiltration is discreet, but tenacious. They are seeking a lost Zoan the Necrons captured. Due to the Null field, the deathworld is hidden from the sight of the Hive mind. They have yet to be rooted out completely, but are mosly cut off from the main fleet and therefore not capable of overrunning the system.
The Necron influence means the Cicatrix Maledicum had very little impact on the system. An abnormaly proportion of inhabitants may be Blanks, which drew the attention of the Inquisition. Naturally, with the split in twain nature of the Imperium along with the presence of Titans, the system has become even more important. Thus, some quirks are overlooked in favour of more important things.
Which is good because the current events kick the Necrons research into overdrive. They really hate Chaos and denizens of the Immaterium, after all.
On the other hand, the odd success they have along with the long standing Tyranid infestation may have drawn the attention of the Ordo Xenos.
