There are a few good ways, that can sync well with party play.

One possibility is "illogical" thinking, or having a poor grasp on cause-and-effect. People don't draw symbols on the walls in their own shit just because, they do it because it keeps the aliens from being able to probe their mind.

Hallucinations are another one that works alright, so long as you play it well. Since you're playing with others, I'd make it something that wouldn't necessarily hamper your ability to do things mechanically unless you have a reason to. It's one thing if your character becomes paranoid at random, and is more hesitant to do certain things because he swears he sees Krampus watching him from the shadows ever Tuesday. It's another if he ends up swinging his sword wildly to deal with a swarm of nonexistent bats, and becomes useless in combat as a result. The former can be interesting, the latter will make your teammates wonder why they bring you when there may be fighting.

Adding tics and unconscious mannerisms to your character. I recommend lisps and limp wrists.

Act normal and then say something 2-3 degrees from the conversation every now and again. People hide their crazy. Eventually when other players are questioning your sanity you can do something bonkers IC that they only see OC to let them in on it. Then it becomes a game of when their players can figure it out.

Numbers and the order of things are a form and are easily explained

A mad necromancer destitute on ways to make immortality might collect flies, spiders, sparrows, and cats in that order one consuming the other in vast quantities to grasp a large amount of life in an endless numerical quest only to discover that he might acquire souls along the way as well and has no interest in souls but may well snuff the life of an elephant and bring that along with him for eternity causing him great despair.
