Gonna post this again. Pretty sure the silence in the last thread was my answer, but... meh, I'm good at rejection.

Pretty simple CYOA, not that unique, but I like the concept and haven't seen one done thoroughly in a while. I have no access to any Photoshop-esque programs ATM so it's very basic, did it in Word, gonna need a lot of work on visuals, but as far as basic mechanics what do you guys think so far?

I'm going to add in Companions and Artifacts (as well as Flaws/Foes) in the future as well as (obviously) numerous other worlds to be an Aspect of, many of which will not be so combat-oriented.

Marvel, DC, Hellsing, and a few others are on my To-Do list, just off the top of my head. Ideally I'll also throw in some generic (and specific) Fantasy, some Religious overtones (Heaven/Hell Aspects), a Tech-based world or two, a few others... all the classics. I haven't seen a crossover CYOA that went more in-depth than "Pick a World. You get all their powers. NOW FIGHT!" in a while, but I only just started browsing again recently. Hoping once I cut my teeth on something like this I can move on to real OC.

As the name suggest they are CYOAs, "Jumps", that are chained together. Like applying the "B" option from the meta CYOA to use two (or more) CYOAs in conjunction with one another.

I can't really explain it well and I think my post will suffer for it but then again there's a lot of things I can't do.

Basically, a CYOA made up of two parts. The things you choose and the interrim you imagine instead.

What a CYOA author must ask himself is "Do the choices I present the player act as a sufficient guide so that the imagination can fill in the gap?"

That might not make so much sense. But lets imagine a waifu builder CYOA where the first section is entirely dedicated to how lustrous her hair is, or the bridge of her nose, or how well defined the bags beneath her eyes look. Sure these choices are important, but they could be better explained in more generalized categories and allow the reader to use their imagination to bring it to their own level of perfection.

As an author what you must do is walk the line between creating choices that are irrelevant or unnecessary and failing to present enough significant choices to allow the player's own initiative to take control of the scenario. It's incredibly easy to create a CYOA that falls into either one of these pitfalls, but much harder to write one that can stand in the middle.

Ask yourself "Does this choice actually matter to a reader?" What would be lost thematically if an entire section is removed? If the answer is "nothing much" then the best thing you can do is take it away because your readers will naturally solve it in their minds.
