When are Disney actually going to give us a good Star Wars movie?
>>
>>53006251
Probably never. RO and TFA showed us they're more than willing to go the Marvel route and keep cranking out film after film with just the bare minimum amount of effort put into them relying on brand recognition and exploiting this recognition in order to get their money.
>>
I've been told that Star Wars D20 makes a pretty good generic sci-fi system. Could I use it to run a sword and planet game or is the force to integral to the system?
Would it be better to use the FFG games?
>>
How can I make a bounty hunter nemesis memorable?

I'm going to be buying a small/medium sized fleet for x wing with the intention of tournament play. I've played once, years ago, but for excited about it when I saw the black sun viper was a model.

Can any one recommend me a good black sun fleet to put together? I hear viper are very expensive points wise but I'm determined to at least have one or two
>>
>>53006986
If you are dead set on running a Viper there used to be a competitive build using Guru, Palob and Manaroo. Don't know how it is since the Manaroo need tho.

I thought that TFA was okayish. I just kind of wish they did their own thing instead of try to reshoot ANH to appease the "Prequels ruined my childhood" crowd. The shot of the castle with all the aliens felt like a desperate attempt, though I mean I kinda like that they went the practical route.

My biggest concern was like, it seemed they had thrown all the OT and prequel aliens out the window, and my biggest fear is we will never see a zabrak or twi'lek (in live action) again.

There WAS a twi'lek hologram in RO but that seemed to be it.

My only issue with RO was the fact that it seemed to be at 6 places at once at the start and was jumping all over the place

Jeddha city was cool though

I will be running an EOTE session for my wife and another couple, this weekend. Husband of the couple has played D&D a few times many years ago , but that is it. My wife and his wife have never played a TTRPG. What adventure should I run for them? I don't want to do beginner box, as the adventure is kind of boring. Any downloadable modules or modules to purchase that you would recommend?

So if you pick up Mist Hunter and Most Wanted, you could do something like this:

Guri (37 points)
Lone Wolf, Virago , Autothrusters, Cloaking device.

Guri can be run like this as your flanker, with a base 5 evade dice and autothrusters and a lone wolf reroll, if something manages to shoot at you, you should be fine. The main point of Guri in this list is to bait your opponent into ignoring the scout though so watch out for trip defenders or double-tap defenders, which can strip tokens and have a better dial.

Zuckuss (33 points)
Outmaneuver, 4-Lom,Mist Hunter, Tractor Beam

If you find that your opponent focus fires on one of your ships you can use Zuck to peel them off.

If your opponent has low agility ships, you can let them pretend the extra evade dice that they roll matters.

If you find that you like having the cloaking device card at all, you might want this ship.

Contracted Scout (30 points)
Predator, Greedo, Overclocked R4

Contracted scout exists solely for the purpose of sweeping up after the other two but with Greedo, you can really lay into high hull ships.

TFA's desperation to be The New New Hope killed me in the theater. Being "creative" by giving the OT a bland modern blockbuster overhaul, plot and all, soured the whole movie with a taste of cynicism.

R1's editing was clearly responsible for killing the pacing, particularly during the first half, but I could honestly sit down and enjoy it for what it was. It built sideways onto the mundane side of the OT setting instead of copypasting it, and managed to add some cool background material in the process and a glorious fucking space battle, after years of JJ-style resolution of naval combat through fistfights and namecalling.

I'm just afraid we've set a precedent for honest original content being sidelined in place of a decade of OT wanking.

I had an idea that I never got to implement of a force tradition who's power of note was long range communication, almost obsolete in the Star Wars universe except for the fact it's all but untraceable. So the idea was for this sect or someone copying there notes, the idea was never fully developed to be retaliating against the Empire by reaching out to the void, finding young force-sensitves and convincing them that blowing themselves up on public transport was a good idea.

It was going to be a case in an ISB campaign I was planning.

>>53009553
This, I've always loved toying with random pockets of CIS hold-outs, similiar to the Japanese hold-outs in the Pacific. Just entire battalions of droids whose Munificent went down onto some uncharted moon and who have either been corroding and deteriorating as the years pass or who are freshly awoken by the party or some conflict that comes with them, still believing themselves to be in the midst of the Clone Wars who see stormtroopers as their programmed foe.

>>53009647
Sounds the dude's idea was to make them more of an apocalyptic doomsday cult than any sort of sensible rebellion. A couple of sages on some isolated moon, reaching out and propelling innocents into getting revenge for what happened in the purges.

Don't introduce him as an enemy, at first. Instead, have his introduction be more meaningful.

The next time your characters are in a cantina, have them bump into a big, tough customer sort of guy. He snarls at them, and it's clear that they don't want to fight - this guy is dangerous.

A few minutes later, the bounty hunter in question walks in, calls his name out, and faces him down. Before the target can pull out his own blaster, the bounty hunter brutally kills him.

Now your characters have seen him in action, seen that he's dangerous, and are glad that they're not facing him... until the next time they see him, and he says their names.

Same, desu. I just love Star Wars. Though I do see the flaws. But really, I can see the flaws easily in every single franchise that I love.

Doctor Who had its crappy writing, TFA had nostalgia stuffed into it in order to safely appease Plinkett and his hordes (I'm not even sure what he thought of it and I'm afraid to find out), 40k is well, it's 40k lol.

There's a flaw in everything and if you love something you should point out the flaws so that they can fix the shit lol. If that makes sense.

That said, anyone here ever play Star Wars Galaxies? I had heard Starsider was the major RP server. I was a bit of an annoying that guy at the time but damn, if I could play anything (in any SWRPG in general) I'd play a veteran clone.

I guess if you can't get away from D20, its 'ok', its sort of a modified version of D20 modern in its base form and SAGA iteration of it was a little further refined.
Problem with D20 systems is they tend to be just too heavy a workload for GM'ing and PC's end up unkillable little bastards by about 8-9th level with feats and skills everywhere, so it become harder to challenge them over time. FFG isn't perfect, but its definitely a lot more street-level in the sense you can still actually threaten them with base gronk NPC's like Stormtroopers, bitey animals and other stuff all through their careers. Plus its really workload sharing in that you offset some of it onto PC's, they make decisions, interpret their dice and you basically rein them in if they get too silly.
Much faster to set up and now we're a few years into them, quite a lot of material out there now. Probably the best Force system out of all the games though imo.

Just have both sides set a limit (in secret) on how low they will go and how much they will spend.
Negotiation, Success's and triumph will drop or add to the baseline
Advantages might mean spare parts, full tank of fuel, its modified etc

Disadvantages/despairs = a shitbox which has either all the characteristics of a lemon or someone forgot to do a hyperdrive overhaul... about 10 years ago, or negotiations have completely broken down to the point neither side wants anything to do with the other

This, tbqh famalam. Though I will say that the Attack of the Clones was pretty shit anytime that Hayden's on-screen.

Really, though, I think the only two things that actually redeem the prequels for me are pod-racing, particularly in the form of the N64 game, and the Clone Wars cartoons, both of them. Having seen the second Clone Wars before watching Revenge of the Sith really elevates that movie to tying with RotJ for me.

I actually like Hayden's performance and *most* of his dialogue.
The sand line is fine to me, the line I don't like is when he says
>it's not FAIR
that seems a little weak, like he wasn't fully committed to the line.

And some of his stuff after he's christened as Vader but before the suit is kind of stiff.
Other than that I like his performance.
>>
>>53012388
You are a fucking child. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about Clones. None.
At all.
And Hayden Christensen was by far the worst performance other than Lucas' dialogue and idiotic plot that begs for Frodo questions up the fucking wazoo.
>>
>>53012388
I mean, he gives a great performance as a brooding, edgy teenager. I just hate that the prequels turned pre-Vader Anakin into a brooding, edgy teenager. It always struck me as being one of the biggest negatives of actually spelling things out in the prequels that was better left to mystery. Vader has such gravitas in the original movies, whereas between Kid Anakin and Hayden, he is turned into such a fucking joke.

If anyone hasn't seen this already, behold Darth Vader using Kid Anakin's voice.

>>
>>53013031
could have been interesting, but I've always kindof disliked that anakin and Obiwan ended up being more like brothers than master-apprentice due to their similar ages and this would put them closer, wouldn't it?

Wouldn't have mattered in the end though. Lucas didn't bother to get a good performance out of any of the talented actors in the prequel.
>>
>>53013060
But that was the point of their relationship as established in ANH. Anakin was Ben's apprentice, but also his best friend. Establishing this was one thing the prequels really failed at since all it ever shows are the two of them bickering.
>>

>>

>>
>>53013105
I envisioned a more ideal version of Anakin myself once, and I always thought it'd have worked better.

Drop the entire attraction to Padme throughout Episode II. Anakin grows up to be reliable, confident, and a well-mannered Jedi, but the Council notes he's somewhat headstrong. Still, Kenobi vouches for him and the two are more like brothers than Master-Apprentice. He does a lot of the reckless stuff in Coruscant instead of Obi-Wan, and he isn't as violent with the changeling chick-guy. He worries about the power of their opposition, and fears for Padme's life, but like Obi-Wan puts the well-being of the Jedi above himself.

For their work in protecting Padme, Anakin is awarded the chance to go back to Tatooine to visit his mother. Custody of Padme is granted to him as Obi-Wan investigates the matter of the Clones, so she tags along. He arrives, Tusken shit happens, and that's the breaking point. Anakin comes back and doesn't say a word. No "I hate them" or bullshit about people dying, he just glares at Padme, remains silent, and leaves.

Obi-Wan is sympathetic and supportive of him, and suggests the Council let him take Padme to Naboo where she needs to deal with government matters - make this more clear than just two lovers going to Venice - and believe that the paradise world will give him a chance to clear his mind. While there, Anakin uses his emotional weakness to form a bond with Padme. She comes on to him, not vice-versa, and he rejects her due to the Jedi Way, but with the loss of his only remaining family member, he longs for comfort, and gives in, though it doesn't lead to a relationship or marriage.

The rest of the film continues relatively the same, but overall Anakin and Obi-Wan are far more brotherly, and he doesn't obsess over Padme or marry her. That comes in Episode III.
>>
>>53013221
But they also have moments where they don't. The prequels failed to have those.
>>
>>53013248
I took most of the Assassin Chase as pretty good natured bantering.
>>
>>53013244
Little changes, like I said making him totally silent in the Tatooine scene, would've made a world of difference. Also showing him and Kenobi getting along like brothers, occasionally doing playful jests and brotherly jokes or w/e, but no hostility or resentment.

Episode III goes much the same, but Palpatine's promise to Anakin isn't life or creating it, but filling the void he still faces, and the repression he feels with the Jedi as he's been unable to truly express the hurt that the loss of his mother caused him, as well as his growing affection for Padme. At Palpatine's insistence, he marries her.

Obi-Wan knows, and reluctantly supports him, but warns him of what should happen if the Council found out. Film goes mostly the same, he ultimately knocks up Padme, and his emotional void is now replaced with paranoia of the Jedi Council finding out about his affair. Meanwhile, he continues to speak to Palpatine, and Palpatine begins to convince him the Jedi are plotting a coup to instill their values on the entire galaxy, values which Anakin has disliked and begun to resent. Palpatine speaks of emotional freedom, freedom to love Padme and express his feelings, and Anakin is swayed.

Mostly the same again, and then Palpatine sets up the scene of Mace trying to kill him, Anakin intervenes. He's shocked to discover Palpatine is a Sith, but from what he's promised, Anakin begins to genuinely believe the Sith would be better. (continued...)
>>
>>53013355
He is told the Jedi know of his affair as well, and as part of their coup plan to kill both him and Padme. Palpatine sends her to Mustafar for safety, and Anakin besieges the Jedi Temple. When confronted with younglings, he stays his hand, but the Clones do not. He's troubled by this, but sees it as what must be done. However, thinking of his own child, he then travels to Mustafar as well when Palpatine tells him Padme has been captured by radical Separatist leaders who refuse to let the war end.

He goes there and kills them, this time not in senseless aggression or murder, but because he believes Padme to be in danger, and does not believe the Separatist bunker there insisting otherwise. Rather than be told Sidious formulated the war, Palpatine tells him the Jedi did to instill themselves into power. Therefore, no mercy is had, and they view him as an infiltrating enemy agent.

Kenobi, fearing for Padme's life and hearing that Anakin has betrayed the Jedi, travels in pursuit of him, fleeing the rise of Order 66 as well. Anakin does not find Padme with the Separatists, and is confused, but searches for her. When Obi-Wan arrives, Anakin greets him cordially., and tells him of what Palpatine said; the Jedi coup, finding Padme, etc., and believes Obi-Wan is there to join him as a brother in arms.

Obi-Wan reveals that isn't the case, and he'd found Padme safe and sound, by Palpatine's orders having not been harassed by Separatists there. Seeing Anakin like this, they both try to talk him down. However, his paranoia rises once more, and he now believes he's been betrayed by both of them, that Palpatine's warnings of treachery and death by the hand of the Jedi would afflict him. (continued...)
>>
>>53013450
In anger, Anakin injures Padme and fights Obi-Wan, vowing to end their treason and avenge their wrongdoings to him. The fight is much more brief. Anakin is shot by Padme, in tears and pleading him to stop prior to that, and Obi-Wan strikes him down. Anakin professes his hatred to the two of them, telling Kenobi he viewed him as a brother, and that he'll never forget or forgive his betrayal. Kenobi says the same thing, yet tells him he'll always be his brother, no matter what falls upon his mind.
Kenobi and Padme leave, and Anakin is left.
He tries to pursue them, but for one reason or another gets near lava, passes out, burnt,
etc. Film goes the same way, just no retarded "Noooo" scene.[/spoiler]

Phew, there you go, my fanon of how Anakin should've been. Going down truly believing he was betrayed and that he was a hero. Less psychotic, less of a manchild, more of a truly Shakespeare-esque fallen hero.

idk it might be kinda shit

I have several alternate universe questions

1. What was Sidious's plan if Dooku was able to kill Anakin and Obi-Wan in orbit over Coruscant?

2. What would Dooku have done if Sidious was found out and killed during the Clone War?

3. What would have happened if Anakin had allowed Windu to kill Sidious in his office?
>>
>>53013762
Good questions, but
>3. What would have happened if Anakin had allowed Windu to kill Sidious in his office?
is a lot easier. Palpatine let Windu get him down, which is why he obliterated three Jedi Masters in seconds but sustained his duel with Anakin. He sensed he was coming, and let himself be "beaten".

It's entirely possible he could've gotten too cocky and accidentally let Windu kill him, but otherwise he was in control and in no real danger. In terms of raw skill Windu fighting Palpatine was like a wolf fighting a lion.
>>
>>53013762
1. He re-elevates Dooku to his position as his apprentice and uses his betrayal and just another test, meanwhile he considers bringing back Mecha-Maul.

2. He would have won the Clone War, and you'd have a divided galaxy with the Confederacy offering its proposed self-governance to planets while the Republic rotted under the burden of corruption and loss of agri-worlds. Increased galactic instability, likely an increase in Hutt aggression, and the Empire either never rising to power or instead being an evolution of the confederacy to offer stability and safety, with Dooku being the first Emperor.

3. The galaxy goes, "Yay!"
>>
>>53009908
SWG was the shit, I love that they keep leaking stuff back into the FFG star wars from it.
>>
>>53013856
I thought the novelization said that Windu actually overpowered Palpatine by using Vaapad, which uses the opponent's power against them.
>>
>>53013856
Posted before I finished, but what would have happened if Anakin refused to attack Windu is Palpatine would've either shocked Windu and killed him outright or got back to his feet and saber-dueled both Anakin and Windu. As he'd still view Anakin as a potential apprentice I doubt he'd kill him, so he'd probably kill Windu then do the same "I totally am beaten totally" trick with Anakin, or just run away and try again later without killing his hopefully apprentice.

Yup. There's no better feeling that going full aloha snackbar on an incoming AT-AT, hurling a couple of grenades and then just grabbing your friendly missile launcher and weaving in and out of the balconies to fire off a load while fighting back to reloads with your pistol. Or the real fun of fighting through the Ice Caves, jacking a Saber tank and unloading on the ass-end of an AT-TE as it helplessly tries to swivel.

Bespin Platforms was a fun map just for the first-person cockpits with instrument panels and shit, but Cloud City was just a glorious fucking meatgrinder. Those elevated pathways that were basically just a long cover-less corridor that turned into WWI trenchbattles. Blaster fire just casually filling those boxes of death, missiles and grenades always killing 5+. A lot of those upgrades can be potentially swapped out, with just Mindlink, Autothrusters, Concord Dawn Protector, and a system (FCS, Advanced Sensors, or Sensor jammer) being must-takes. Palob needs either Twin Laser Turret, Autoblaster Turret, or Ion Turret.

This list is actually pretty synergystic, as there are 2 alternative methods of focus generation (palob and Guri) to trigger Mindlink.

The rumored fix for the Starviper is a torpedo slot item that's some sort of starviper only thruster, that lets you barrel roll with banks/get evades when you barrel roll or boost.

>The rumored fix for the Starviper is a torpedo slot item that's some sort of starviper only thruster, that lets you barrel roll with banks/get evades when you barrel roll or boost.

Source for this?

>>53014864
We'll probably get two things, since the CC box came with both more squads and new objectives.

I'd really like to see new titles, at least two for each ship from waves 1-4. Titles can do a lot of different things for making ships better or adding differing styles of play. It would be the best way to add some new blood into the game.

Rogues and Villains 2 is the most likely other thing they'd put in. I'm still not a huge fan of how many bounty hunters there are in a fleet game, but if we get Lando in the Falcon like he should be I'll probably forgive it.

I'd prefer more pilots for the Fighter Pack II. It's frustrating to me that the E-wing doesn't have a generic named squadron card, I'd love to throw it in my Rieekan Aces builds.

Because they're FUCKHUGE in the scale that FFG chose for the game. FFG keeps doing this where they pick a scale for their games without thinking about some of the really big stuff that's obviously popular.

Speaking of which, has FFG ever hinted about doing something akin to turrets and a Trench Run format/mission? X-Wangz missions felt neat-ish, but it just always hit me as strange that the best campaign for the game is a pure homebrew creation.

And I can't imagine anyone wouldn't want to try their luck at a hardcore trench run with precision flying being key as you fly a small squad of crackshot pilots through one of the most iconic starfighting sections of the entire franchise.

Also, cheap as shit but unshielded and immobile Turbolaser batteries just sound like a weird and fun way to spice shit up.

Man I would kill for some off the wall titles. I always feel so bored when I use a raider, considering my titles are two flavors of flak improvement. I'd kill for something like discard this title to use your anti ship armaments as though they were anti squadron armament for the round.

Something they could also do is do a big faction swaphouse deal. Rebels get access to Quasars, imperials get access to corvettes and nebulons. It would definitely soothe some folks I've run into who really want to play an imperial fleet with nebulons and be flavorful with the campaign.

I find it really irksome that basically every non-blaster weapon in FFG is absolute garbage. Slughtrowers: terrible. Bows: terrible. Thrown weapons: terrible. Non-vibro melee weapons: terrible.

I'm considering just letting my players refluff weapons however they want, to allow for some actual variety in equipment beyond using whatever the best weapon in a category is.

I'd like to think that Kylo is a great example of what happens when you take a fledgling Force user, show them the door to the Easy Path, and watch them ruin their life utterly. So far he's done a great job of that.

I just don't get why they put the 20-something emotional wreck in partial command of the horde of angry 20-somethings that makes up the army of the biggerer betterer Empire-in-exile.

>>53015290
The trick, is to pour ranks into whatever stat you want to kill with, and then take Deadly Accuracy. It makes joke weapons good and good weapons amazing.
>>
>>53015287
But the idea is that Kylo is a Padawan that went bad. He's not an unstoppable engine of destruction, he's a kid who got a quick gain in power from falling to the Dark Side, but not enough training to really utilize it well.

>>53015495

>>
>>53015495
From everything I've read, we don't even have confirmation that Luke was present when he went Columbine. It does seem more logical that it was a "When the master's away, we will play" scenario.
>>
>>53015287
It's iffy, mostly for two reasons.
>Kylo Ren works best as a novice
A lot of the real draw to Kylo is the fact that he's half-trained and ultimately just a broken, confused man-child who is looking for acceptance and trying desperately to be the soulless villain he wrongly assumes his uncle to have been. He's far more of a trouble school shooter than he is a hardcore grizzled soldier.

>Kylo Ren wasn't stopped by Luke
For whatever reason, Luke didn't stand-up to Kylo or do really anything when Kylo killed the rest of the Padawans of the New Jedi Order. Most of this comes from the fact that we know jackshit about Kylo's training with Luke, but for whatever reason, Luke didn't have either the heart or the ability to stop him. The actual terrifying aspect of Kylo comes mostly from this one act, yet it isn't something we have any real knowledge about at all.

So together, you have Kylo as this pathetic imitation of a Sith Lord who is still trying to find himself. But he's also the leader of the Knights of Ren and Snoke had enough faith in him to put him in charge of the entire organization of wanna-be Sith Knights that have as much control and independence as the Inquisitors did under the Empire. It's just an awkward situation where Kylo is basically two separate characters. Giving him a scene of badass slaughter-killing would help reaffirm his second identity, but it would weaken his first identity.

Most playtesters that I know are quite good at not giving away real info.

>>53015162
I'm not a huge fan of cross-faction ships.

But yes the Raider especially could use some nice buffs. Hell I'd take a title that let it use black dice at medium range.

Would also like to see some good titles for the AFII and MC80. The titles for both are kinda limited or lack luster.

>>53014977
There really isn't anything between the ISD and SSD though in terms of scale. I wish Armada had a slightly smaller scale overall, but more so that we could fit more than one large ship in a game reasonably. The huge ISD barring down on the table is still a joy to play.
>>
>>53015495
Neither really makes sense. Luke would probably be unwilling to kill family, but he should have at least been able to break the kid's swording arm and make him sit the fuck down. Maybe Kylo got to murdering just a few minutes before Luke could arrive on the scene.

>Star Wars creator George Lucas sought to make the Galactic Empire aesthetically and thematically similar to Nazi Germany and to appear to be fascist. Like Nazi Germany, the Galactic Empire is a dictatorship based on rigid control of society that dissolved a previous democracy and is led by an all-powerful supreme ruler. The Empire, like the Nazis, desires the creation of totalitarian order and utilizes excessive force and violence to achieve their ends. The name of the Empire's main soldiers, the Stormtroopers, is somewhat similar to the name given to Hitler's Sturmabteilung (SA, "storm detachment") paramilitary bodyguards. The visual appearance of Darth Vader in his all-black uniform combined with his devout obedience to the Emperor has allusion to the black-uniformed Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS). The uniforms of Imperial military officers also bear resemblance to uniforms used in Nazi Germany as well as nineteenth-century Germany's ulans (mounted lancers)—who wore a tunic, riding breeches, and boots like the Empire's officers wear—as well as the Imperial officers' cap resembling the field caps historically worn by German and Austrian troops. In addition to Nazi Germany, there was also at least one portion of the Galactic Empire that was based on the Soviet Union, which is the various military personnel and TIE Fighters are flying in formation as Palpatine arrives on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi. In the commentary track for the film's DVD release, Lucas admitted that the ceremony for the Emperor's arrival was inspired by May Day military parades in the Soviet Union.

I tried following the series when it came out. Couldn't. The Unifying Force was pretty fantastic though, I read Vector Prime and Allston and Stackpole and the one where Jaina is sad/mad and in the Hapes Consortium... maybe when Coruscant falls? I dunno, there was a lot of stuff to trudge past.

Unifying Force felt epic without me turning up there knowing everything- with Coruscant and Mon Calamari, and had adventure wrapped in with the prison breakout and Caluula.

And the end of the war was wow at the time for me because it purposely gave the lay of the land for the galaxy. It gave a sense of closure that was grand enough, and with strings that could be picked up.

Swarm War, LotF, and FotJ kind of went on to fuck it over but by then people should have stopped reading.

I would say just pick over NJO, with the disclaimer that I picked over it. If you go to Unifying Force, also read the one just before it for extra effect? And reference wookiepedia to fill in blanks as you need.

5 Tie fighters might crumple too easily to enemy action. The current config has a little more staying power with the Adv and a little more hitting power with the Int. Of course if you consider them a speed bump to set up the Raider's flechettes than 5 fighters may be more than enough.

For the same points you could also go:
2 x Lambda-class Shuttle (15)
2 x Tie Advanced Squadron (12)
2 x Tie Fighter Squadron (8)

It gains hull and some extra escort and also brings enough relay to cover the fighters, but punches less than 5 Ties would.

It's kind of a shitty plan though (empire sucks at planning)
Had they just killed them all and captured R2, the rebellion would be helpless against the Deathstar.
Is the only explanation SPACE OPERA ???
>>
So, Saw's band of rebels use those black and white X-wings. What are the odds that they stole them from Black Sun?
>>
>>53019113

Low. A small band of rebels like them would stand no chance against the bullshit Black Sun could bring to bear, especially with their ties to the Alliance severed.

Odds are it's just a coincidence.

I'm keen to do one. It's the perfect shape for a giant black sun logo covering the thing.

Plus Ketsu worked for Black Sun so it's thematic too.
>>
>>53019210
You overestimate the relation between black/white color schemes and the Black Sun.

I don't worry about my blue car being mistaken for meaning I'm a Cubs fan, or a Crip.

What's more likely, that Saw got a couple of T-65s from the Alliance - which we know uses X-Wings - when he was still operating under their banner, or that he stole them from the Black Sun - who as never been described using X-Wings in Canon?

The guy never even went Grey in the original games. The guy's morality was a regular light switch, not a dimmer switch. He was Light, then fell to the Dark, then the space amnesia kicked in and he flipped back to full Light during the "canon" storyline.

You could also argue that the only ones that were not immediately international pariahs were Franco's Spain and Pinochet's Chile, and they were only tolerated. Just because it's not as bad as communism doesn't make it a good form of government.

>>
>>53022481
Communism is one of those things were people immediately switch off their brain and starting thinking labels. Any discussion of communism that doesn't begin with an agreement on the exact definition is doomed to go nowhere.

It's better to discuss the imaginary system of 'fubarism' and bypass all the "thinking" people have laid down in their minds that they assume is mutual groundwork.

90+% of people who say Communism has never been tried do, in fact, mean some specific interpretation that lives inside their mind; that might make them poor communicators but it doesn't make their argument inherently ridiculous - that depends on what their imaginary fubarism consists of. As often as not it's probably just slightly more extreme European socialism.
