In some ways they where tough where I was, not a lot of work, so I went to uni and eventually I joined the army. While it was hard economically, it didn't really matter so much because everyone was broke as fuck, having house parties, cheap booze and dyed black hair was relatively free and easy life compared to what was to come. There was a lot of good times hanging out with other goths, crusty grunge rockers, hippys, the last punk relics, ska-skins and hardcore techno/ravers. We'd play rpgs for days because no one actually worked and provided I got my study in enough to pass, the rest was just finding enough money to scrape by.

I remember them very fondly because the 00's sucked a hairy big one.
Don't regret my life choices, but by the time I got out of the military in 2008, the world I knew as a young fella was long gone.
