Don't know if anyone cares about summarised battle reports. Marines vs Elysian Drop Troops
>Turn 1
Terminator Librarian and Terminators exit Crusader to cast a buff to claim a VP for casting a spell, proceed to lose almost entire squad to a single multiple rocket pod shot when Elysians combat drop in.
>Turn 2
Marine Predator arrives from reserves, Crusader reduces Veteran squad to 2 men. Avenger enters the table and fails to harm the Crusader with lascannons. Special weapons squad landing right next to Land Raider only score a single glancing hit with three meltaguns. The dice luck has taken a sharp turn at this point.
>Turn 3
From here on my Marines take vengeance for never hitting fliers in any games, Predator one shots the Avenger with a snap shot lascannon, avenger crashes and burns into nearby infantry squad and kills 4. Combat Squad plasma gunner pens the side of the CCS Valkyrie and makes it explode, another miracle snap shot. Vulture kills only the Librarian who tanks 19 shots for his last Terminator buddy, second infantry squad gets charged by dreadnought, lose 4 but hold fast.
>Turn 4
Game is now over as Vulture loses its punisher cannons to a weapon destroyed from a snap shot meltagun hit, Dreadnought proceeds to chase down remaining guardsmen and kills 8 with the heavy flamer. CCS Colonel who is the last Elysian infantry man remaining charges the Crusader with a melta bomb, fails to damage it.
>Turn 5
Silliness ensues as we discard any objective related cards and attempt to complete more interesting ones. Land Raider kills the colonel due to a failed Death or Glory, Dreadnought fires heavy flamer and assault cannon into Drop Sentinel in the open and doesn't scratch it. Vulture with nose heavy bolter and Drop Sentinel kill off Scout Squad and a Combat Squad respectively.

We had a lot of fun, despite neither of use getting to use the units we were looking forward to (Avenger and normal Terminators who always die before doing anything).

I like the aesthetic, I just hate that they're only available as monopose. Like, it's fair enough that guardsman are all wearing the exact same thing, but who the hell is the fashion coordinator ensuring there's only three different styles in the cultist army. I'm a little miffed that with the new special rules Skitarii stand to lose both of their unique stat bonuses - Relentless may not be a thing and everyone has a variant of it, same with Feel No Pain as such, and they may roll Doctrinas into some retarded "Psychic Machine Powers" bullshit. Combat shields worked because they had a role and limitations.
Storm shields were just a finger to any and all that had to face terminators, just like wraiths were.

They couldn't be built, planned or fought around, they were just a lump of concrete you had to chip away at to progress, until the equally awful complimentary D-weapon spread.

I was super tempted to get one, but my group hates me enough for converting to Tau from SM without them having to deal with a mostly invisible MC running around their backfield, melting tanks and shit. The Fire Warrior and Broadside gunline with shrouded Pathfinders everywhere has them producing enough salt as it is.

Dark eldar are effectively dead. Yes I see the Ynnari becoming the flagship Eldar race now.

Even Space Marines are not safe from this. The new sons of Guilliman are going to become the focus of the narrative structure.

Honestly the ghostkeel is a balanced unit, provided you use just 1. Mine is very useful but is very vulnerable to incorrect positioning. If anything charges it, it's fucked.

I'd honestly say even the OSC formation isn't a big deal provided your army isn't also cheese. I don't even use broadsides or crisis suits, just infantry, stealths and outflanking most of them. The OSC for me is great cause it gives some markerlight independence.

I run a ranged support cadre of 3 teams of 7 pathfinders, all shrouded and usually sitting in ruins. My best mate plays DE and he won't even shoot at them anymore, since I pass a ridiculous number of 2+ saves. He already thinks that getting ignores cover on everything of mine is retardedly powerful, and I'm inclined to agree. Missilesides send his transports screaming to the ground without expending markerlights for ignores cover, and I only need to expend one from those pathfinders to bump it up by 2 BS. A Ghostkeel would just be nearly impossible for him to kill, and I'm running a fairly glass cannon force as it is, just because I've played against Tau MCs for years and know how frustrating they are. You can kill Broadsides with a single Dark Lance if they fail their cover save, but a Ghostkeel just takes it on the chin. Combined with the dumb Countermeasures rule, it's very hard to kill for most armies.

Ranged Support Cadre is three units of Pathfinders and 3 units of Broadsides. The Pathfinders gain Infiltrate, and have Shrouded as long as they don't move from their starting position or fire weaponrry that isn't a markerlight. All markerlights placed by the Pathfinders used by the Broadsides from the formation count as 2 tokens for every one expended. The Broadsides can use Supporting Fire for the Pathfinders from any range, as long as it's still inside the range of their weapons.

It's the only way I bring Pathfinders. They are entirely too squishy without the +2 to cover.

It has both Stealth and Shrouded, so it gets a 4+ cover save out in the open. It also has a rule called Holophoton COuntermeasures which forces the unit targeting the Ghostkeel to fire snapshots, after it's been selected as the target of the shooting attack. It's a one-use-only rule, but if you bring more than one Ghostkeel you can use each one's Countermeasures once, letting the unit absorb way more firepower than it should be able to.

The way I'm using them makes them heaps more durable. I bring two Missile Drones in each one-man unit, then pay 10pts per model to make them all Shas'vre. Since they're characters, I can perform Look Out Sirs on 4+. Sit them in Ruins, or behind an Aegis Line, and put the missile drones behind each one, forcing your opponent to hit the Broadside's 2+ armour first. Just tank all the little shit on the 2+ save and Look Out Sir the big hits from S8 AP2 onto the drones, which will have a 4+ cover save. Even if you fail the LoS, you'll still get a 4+ cover save on the Broadside. They'll often last well into turn 4 for me.

What's the best way to make the Harlequins arms/weapons exchangeable?
I was thinking about using magnets, but their arms are so slim that I'm not sure it can actually work without a serious risk of destroying the model

I'm surprised, cause that's one of the only ways people might shift your broadsides. You can't use Markerlights with Interceptor, so they'd be shooting at their regular BS3, best odds of getting close enough I'd wager. Once those are done, shrouded pathfinders get torched.

I wanted to make them interchangeable because I want to use the models both for 40k and for SWA, and the weapons you want to give them are extremely different

True about the markerlights, but there's 12 BS3 twin-linked missiles coming in, plus 8 twin-linked S7 missiles, plus a twin-linked shot from the rail rifle. Depending on how far away you enter from the Broadsides, I'd probably pick the closest unit and focus it down. Even if you do hit a Broadside with a Fusion blast and ignores cover, I can still attempt to look out sir it onto the drones. I agree, though. Popping up behind my lines is probably the best way of dealing with this list.

Well, you can shoot it with big guns, if you have some smaller guns sneak behind it and pick off the drones first.

Then a S 10 gun or even some Lascannons will take it down quickly enough.

That sort of Counterplay is what helps keep the Ghostkeel more reasonable

Yup, right on all accounts, it'd be scary but that's max 3 targets you can aim at. I generally outflank 5-6 f.ex. As you said, if I pop far enough away or behind LoS.. all those can screw you over, keep it in mind.
