I'm quite partial to the Old World Beastiary for WFRP2e, if only because half the book is interviews with scholars, peasants, soldiers and barmaids about the monsters themselves. And they're all rather funny.

Monster Manuel has best bestiary! Even has Hydra, and Cockatrice!
Oh hey it's this faggot again. Make your own monsters or read mythology you fucking scrub.

I've never made this thread, I just like reading these. I've read a pretty fair amount of mythology over the years, working my way through Arabian Nights right now.

Fiend Folio, so unfortunately AD&D which sucks, but the monsters are easily used in Lamentations of the Flame Princess, DCC or LL.

The 13th Age bestiary, while it has mostly bog standard monsters, is extremely well written and has tons of options to shake up the creatures in there.

Half the quotes from the clan Eshin skaven are hilarious, but the best quotes are from the goblins about themselves.
