Let me explain though, the guy is a decent guy and the rest of the party didn't really mind the initial slutty armor and me adding that to the game. It was only as the campaign continued and I sort of scaled the difficulties in nearly every instance up a bit more then should've. I did so around the slutty armor, NPCs would be distracted by it, or wanting sex with the character be part of the deal. I was trying to get him to be like "i go to the blacksmith and add pieces to my armor"
I only began the pressing when I realized everyone was getting tired of it.

What kinds of dress are appropriate depend on the game, but in a relatively serious, down-to-earth campaign, people will react in a realistic fashion to what the characters are wearing. And if somebody dresses in a chainmail bikini, that will do little to protect them. With that said, I rarely feel the need to go into intricate detail over what people are wearing and people are, of course, free to imagine things however they want to. And I'm quite happy to let somebody use a cheesecake picture for their character art. I never view character art as exact anyway, but more like a "my character looks kind of like this and has a similar style to this". Ridiculously revealing pictures can be regarded as what you'd get if somebody who saw the character drew/painted cheesecake pictures inspired by her (or what you'd get if she posed for the fantasy equivalent of Maxim or whatever).

My setting has glamered armor available to be anything from plate bikinis, chain mail barbarian codpieces that and huge shoulder pads of arrow deflection, and super frilly animu battle gowns. My personal excuse is they rub bare parts in bark/ironflesh balm/oil which serves as softer protection.
Reasoning is the blacksmiths makes a killing selling it along with armor and some offer a free sample and they save money in materials that is used on a regular suit of armor.
