I completely disagree. I think you're massively overstimating the usefulness of the counter side of the spell. Not many decks are curving hard turn 3+, so it's good turn 2 on the play, and it gets worse the more it gets played since people will be expecting it.

How did everyone's fnm go?

Took Knightfall again and placed 1st this week. Played against DSJ, Abzan midrange, Goblins and traditional Jund. Every game went close to time besides the goblin deck and I was real burned out by the end of the night.

2-0d DSJ, Jund, and Goblins. Abzan managed to chain 3 lingering souls in a row game 1 and stole that one. I managed to spell queller everything he played and eat everything in his gy with scooze game 2 and 3.

FNM was ok, didnt top 8 for the first time in a few weeks, went 2-2 with Burn
Tournament started out ok with a 2-1 win over a UWR Control deck that used Saheeli combo and Ult for the win.
Then went 2-1 against Deaths Shadow Jund, one of my all time favorite matchups just so much to think about
Lost against Allies 1-2. This deck doesnt see a lot of play but its actually pretty decent especially against Burn, Ondu Cleric is a beating.
Lost against Eldrazi Tron 0-2, this is usually a great matchup but he went on the play and had a turn 2 Chalice on 1 and game 2 a bunch of thought knots. Feels bad.

What are your guys opinion on foils? I really like them, they add a personal spin to the deck but I hate that some of them are slightly more curled then others. I double sleeve all my cards but some came SP and just ever so slightly curled but its noticeable. Most of them are fine and perfect but some like the DCI promo Path are pretty bad at curling for some reason. Even if they didnt curl there is a very slight difference in density and feel between them and normal cards that an adept player can point out.

I really like them. I'm almost finished foiling rug delver (I doubt I'll ever bite and get foil fs goyfs) but my other 4 decks don't really have foils. Living end has foil cascade spells for fun and I've got some foil skreds. Guess I'm not as into those decks.
I find foils don't curl unless you live somewhere shitty and moist.

Plus even if that wasn't a factor it doesn't stop their development, their creatures (walking balista is also a big deal against me in the eldrazi version) or their fucking Ostone.

Fulminators can be alright, and I run 2 of those in the side, but I would rather chord for 3 once and lock them down till they get an answer rather than investing resources over and over (Ewitt triggers, more chords) again to keep them off of Tron.

My advice would be to turn it into Esper draw go and not a pile of cards that vaguely resembles it. Your removal should be 4 paths and 2 push or maybe a 3/3 split. Mana leak is useless in a draw go and specifically esper deck since the games go long and it's dead late game, switch for logic knot. Drop teachings for Esper charm and run 4 cryptic and 4 charm, they're the reason to be esper. Play an actual sweeper instead of that memey black card and put blessed alliance in the side. 4 think twice is pretty essential to play draw go as well. V clique is sideboard material or maybe as a fun of. Gearhulk is garbage in modern.
