Lascannons and Neutron Lasers wouldn't care, so you're right in that respect. Neither would HEAT warheads, or anything psychic or grav-based.

The idea is that when something impacts the front of the armor, instead of spreading the impact across the chest area like armor is supposed to do, it drives all of that kinetic energy into the middle part. And it doesn't take much kinetic energy to crush a sternum.

No you can't. You only get the Tank orders from Tank Commanders and they only get split fire, shooting then smoking, and giving the squad the ability to do a flat out, moving 6 inches plus D6 inches.

You can do Fire on my Target with the Emperor's Wrath formation, but that's only to artillery pieces in the formation.

If you want to build a BA list for 7th ed when 8th ed is RIGHT AROUND THE FUCKING CORNER, here's what you do considering what you got:
Get 2 Razorbacks and kit them out with Lascannon+TL Plasmagun (and Dozer Blade if you play w/ a lot of cover)
Run your Tacticals as 5 man w/ Plasmagun or Meltagun and start them off in the Razorbacks

Get a Drop Pod for the Dreadnought if he has a Power Fist, otherwise run him w/ two TL Autocannons and footslog him. If you want, you could try to kitbash him into a Furioso Dreadnought w/ a Frag Cannon as they work WONDERFULLY in Drop Pods

Captain is a Terminator, yes? He won't be too great but give him a Thunder Hammer and Storm Bolter and say he's Captain Karlean. Otherwise drop him and convert one of your Tactical mooks into a Captain, Librarian, Chaplain, or Sanguinary Priest.

In regards to the rest of your Tacticals, no real advice. They're kinda meh for BA. You could pick up a Devastator kit and make some heavy weapon guys for a Devastator Squad, but even then they wouldn't be too useful. 4 missile lawnchairs in a Dev Squad is decent unit though, even for BA.

Past that, Get an Assault Squad, some Death Company, or a box of Sanguinary Guard. BA are a melee army and you have no melee. Get some melee.

Seriously though, you should wait for 8th to drop before making your laddies.

So I had a thought that maybe you guys could expand on. Why did GWs launch Traitor Legions so close to the 8th Edition announcement? I've quite enjoyed playing with the rules and the like in the time that its been out, but it seems strange to put something out that nearly immediately becomes obsolete.

to be fair I've only played them up to 750 (with proxying no less) but in short, poorly. I can't help but feel like there is something there, but everything has to come together perfectly.
Typically, in a 'decent' game, I close or deepstrike in, hop on objectives, ocassionally kill a moderate amount of stuff and then my dudes pretty much start evaporating. Often they evaporate before doing much. Maybe I just suck though.
I usually roll with either a couple 10 man squads in taurox, or a bunch of 5 man squads deepstriking with some combination of plasma/melta/volley guns (i almost always play against marines)

I was about to pick up sisters or marines or something and just ally in a hellrain brigade in defeat when the new edition was confirmed.

It was an interesting fluff update and fufilled some crucial meta/crunch problems with fielding them, like obelisk phalanx and stuff, but i thought it was sorta meh overall.

Then again this is a franchise built on eternal one-up-manship where usually the newest coddex comes out with crazy shit, and makes their faction top dog for 4 to 6 months and then something new comes out and they drop to 2nd and so on adnausium.

Really i want someone to play 4th and 5th edition with, since thats when i entered the game, and its still the best play ive ever had and the most fun as well.

Those marines are almost certainly the same size as Deathwatch marines and new Thousand Sons. In one of the leaked pics there's a GW paint pot nearby, if you compare the hight of the marines to that they don't even look taller than current marine models.

Also Fantasy is a cuck game that almost no one played, 40k is their flagship franchise and worth significantly more in every respect, they're being much more careful with it and aren't blowing up the setting like they did with Sigmar.
