I don't know. I forget what the record is, and more to the point, there's been enough joke apps that I'm not really sure I can say my game broke any records for real.

I mean shit, nobody even applied as a Doug, so what's the point?

Tell me about some of the foes your characters have defeated, /pfg/. Was there anything that set them apart from their fellows? Any special reason behind your conflict? Did you show them mercy, or were they unworthy of it?
>>
>>52934864
Most memorable, campaign-shaping fight was probably when a modified Kingmaker game ended up with us against the general (and brother) of a king we'd overthrown.

He knew his brother was an asshole and that he'd been running the kingdom into the ground, but hey, we were a bunch of punks who'd killed someone in his family. He came with a vast army, and we had to scramble to slow him down, called in every last favor we had, and turned the battlefield a few days from our capital into a giant fucking free-for-all.

I ended up fighting him in single combat, and putting him into negatives. The team bard, our resident politics nut, wanted to drag him back alive and put him on a show trial to have him be executed and die in disgrace. My character was a barbarian who respected him as a fellow warrior. So the axe came down right there, and I interred his head in the royal crypt, where someone worthy of a crown belonged.
>>
>>52934860
Did that happen?
>>
>>52934962
Back during RotJR? Yeah, some roll20 random strolled on in and said "Mm, yes, this character intrigues me--I'll take it!"

Funniest part was that it was one of the edgiest motherfuckers there.

You know that more and more Roll20 randos are being introduced to /pfg/ and the /pfg/ Discord, right?

Seriously, people in the Discord have come out and admitted that they wandered into /pfg/ because of the Roll20 games.
>>
>>52935035
Yeah the listing closed soon after people were picked. Only way you'd have access to it is if you favorited or have the individual application page in your history. Those don't go away when the lfg is deleted for some reason.
>>
>>52935059

It's really sad how the thread runs off everyone who tries to let others know what's going on with their character or the game.
>>
>>52935246
More like they made themselves scarce when people got sick of fellating them.

People talked about there campaigns and shit all the time, it's when people act like disruptive, attention whoring celebrities do we(rightfully) tear them a new asshole.
>>
>>52935241

>when people got sick of fellating them.
That never happened, anon. The people who love to hang off their celeb cocks are still doing it and the people who hate are still posting about how butthurt you are because they were getting attention.

Do you really think people involved in /pfg/ games actually give a shit about what people in the general have to say about their characters? They won the popularity contest and probably shitpost about their games in their own private discords where they don't have people shouting at them about being shit.
>>
>>52935305
Maybe but on 4chan, that line is very thin. And they honestly brought it on themselves with all the fucking attention whoring.

And really, I see nothing wrong with this arrangement. They get to enjoy their games, saltfags don't have to be cucked, I don't have to deal with as much ship posting, and anyone that fucking invested in shit can just run off to the discord and give 'em a handy for a summary.

Everyone is happy.

Reading through the new Darklands book, I had an idea. Inspired by pretty much everything by Failbetter Games. |
Here's a bit of a teaser-summary.

Fifty years ago, Absalom, the City at the Center of the World, was stolen by bats. Now, Hell is much closer (it seems) and immortality is cheap, but the screaming has largely stopped.
The once great city has fallen into the earth, the light of the sun gone from view, some think, forever.
Many from the World Above know that Absalom as gone, though none know where it went. You, through either nautical fault of your own, or inexplicable sailing mishap have found yourself following in the once glowing city's footsteps.
You'll find yourself in the Sightless Sea, a dark ocean containing an unexplainable microcosm of climates, bizarre collection of geologically impossible islands, and myriad of impossibly sized sea creatures. Will you find your way back to the Forsaken Light Above? Or will you adapt and survive in the Undersea, in turn becoming an Undersailor like those who've saved you from the inky dark waters you've found yourself plunged into?

So if we actively insult everyone who greentexts we'll have generals free of /pfg/ game bullshit and only pure discussion on pathfinder as a whole.

Last character in a campaign has just wrote himself out of existence so I'm drafting up a new character.

He's started out as a generic cowboy except a spellslinger but now it's come to giving him some motivation and I've sorta got cosy with the idea of some sort of incurable degenerative disorder he's fighting the clock to beat. I'm thinking something mental to play into the wizard aspect of it but mainly I just need some help coming up with ideas which might fit thematically/mechanically.

Blinklings seem to skirt the line between slightly cheesy (blur), interesting (constantly sees the astral plane), and uninteresting just because they don't have much else going for them besides being a package of standard stats otherwise.
Also their original art is ugly as sin, but that applies to all of the Bloodforge races and can be easily ignored.

I just added an "end goal" section to her personality: she's still a gnoll healer girl, it's just that her END GOAL is to remove the empire, extend the gnoll lifespan, and enslave humans so that she can become queen of monsters/monsterfolk. Still a comfy gnoll healer girl that will tend to your wounds and berate you for nearly getting killed- she just has ulterior motives
>>
>>52936440

Eh, I expect a good 90% of healers I meet to be plotting that anyway.
>>
>>52936077

In her youth she was quite liberal with her lovers, bending low for a dashing rogue or letting a burly barbarian carry her to his tent, but I figure she let her passions get set aside for duty, and it's only know she's getting to focus on her needs and desires again.

I doubt she has a preference, though a young Cleric boy who, for some absurd reason, desires the thick figure underneath that armor would amuse her, enough to see if he's got what it takes to satisfy her.

Depends entirely on what spells the magic-user is magic-using.

Being cute does not inherently make your character shit.

Playing a character race that is a bastard crossbreed of an extraplanar evil entity and a mortal, with a racial penalty to charisma, as cute? That's shit.

You know what would be interesting? A tiefling who WANTS to be cute, but isn't. Weebshit cutesy character are a dime a forgettable dozen, characters who struggle between what they are and what they want to be are interesting and more memorable.

/pfg/ does not represent the vast majority of Pathfinder groups. Most players aren't going to post about the game on a Taiwanese puppet show board, and the ones who are are probably much more experienced and thus willing to use systems that add complexity to an already complex game.

>>

Sure, why not, it would make sense in that context. Tiefling girl might get bullied to tears by the pretty Elf girls, only to come back after a few years of adventuring—she STILL doesn't fit in the cutesy outfits, her horns still ruin any hat she buys, but this time she has confidence and her friends and she proceeds to counter-bully her former bullies.

>>52937714
Touche, though honestly if someone was going to play a succubus-spawned Tiefling I'd be much more accepting of the idea if they went for the Cold Beauty / Statuesque look rather than cute. Cute, to me, just goes so counter to the point of a part-fiend race that I'd frankly prefer the player to just pick a different race to make their kawaii crap with.

In regards to the Drizzt thing though, I'd actually say yes—though he and his clones are boring as shit at this point, there was a reason so many Drizzt books sold and so many people were into them.

>>52937798
Not wanting people to play metaphysical mutants as cute =/= everything has to be edgy.
>>
>>52937702
I'm kind of disappointed too, there's way too many reprints from other books and monsters whose CRs are higher than the levels the game is actually played at.
>>
>>52937712
That might work. I basically have Egypt across the sea. Maybe the two could go to war? Although I was hoping it would give the players more options for their characters.

>>
>>52938014
Yes.
>>
>>52937689
Has the game begun? If not, if I were you I'd look closely at what player races you want to include and which you don't. If you're going for a Greek-themed setting, having Tolkien Dwarves and Faerie Gnomes around might be a bit weird.

If you're up for it, look through Greek myth, and pick out a few monsters you'd want to have as player races. Stat those out and try to balance them as a starting race, and it'll do tons to help your world feel like something beyond "It's Pathfinder plus I read The Odyssey".
Once you get your mythological focus races selected, you can start seeing how they fit together in the world, and extrapolate from there. I've been working on trying to balance Medusas as a player race that's fair at level one, I'd be happy to share what I've got if you think you could use it.

Ship run aground by "sleeping" navigator on an Island with an incredibly attractive harpy/siren coven. Crew has to repair ship to leave. Sirens approaching random men in the night to do siren shit to them. Some become bodyguards, some become stray bones here and there. Anyone not under the spell sees them as extremely hideous up close.

Starts off with the ship's crew at full strength and sirens seen only from far away or heard singing at night. Becomes more confident as they turn more men, possibly with charmed crewmen attempting to drag away more in the night. Party can fight their comrades nonlethally, behead the entire thing by going straight for the sirens, or try to leave before too much damage is done.

Close to the original myth but with room for other shit. Change the monstergirl-ness and lewd-ness depending on taste.

Just first thing that came to mind. Maybe an interesting stop on a boat ride, to help give some sense of time passing.
>>
>>52938127
>that one green text that got posted like a week ago about a guy who got separated from his party, kidnapped by a harpy and raped by it.
I think the number of people who'd apply just to get siren raped would make the game unsalvageable, unless Vult was the one running it.

What, you mean in regards to how Charisma is frequently used to represent force of will, and not one's appearance, and how that's frequently unrelated to Charisma?

I know that. Nothing about that changes my opinion. Do you have some other point to offer, beyond the fact that you stopped reading? They're still metaphysical mutants, representing a union, however ancestral it may be, between a mortal and an extraplanar evil. Frankly, if all you want to do is play a cute girl with horns, there are other races that make more sense for it than one with fiendish blood.
>>
>>52938155

>>52938082
It hasn't, in fact I'm GMing another campaign and I'm just working on this in my free time. I've already done most of the world building but I'm unsure what the point of the campaign should be. It's a Graeco-Egyptian settign but I want the focus to be on the Greek parts (with Egyptian influences).

Races (so far)
Humans (Iron Age)-Typical. Comes in Greek and Egyptian. Can have a template called Blessed for the children of gods. Still working on it.
Beastfolk (Golden Age)-Humans who were turned into beasts. Werepeople, essentially. Comes in wolf, cat and lizard. Culture is Gaelic-like.
Orcs (Silver Age)-Misshapen humans who defied the gods. Instead ruled by ogres (stated like Oni) who wish to ascend into godhood. Culture is Mongolian-like.
Elves (Bronze Age)-Humans made from an Ash tree. Violent and hostile. Cursed by the gods with long life but would turn back into trees, forever immobile. Culture is Germanic-like.

What other races would you add that wouldn't break the game? Not minotaurs I hope. I like the idea of playable Medusae.
>>
>>52937524
Entothropes aren't playable.
>>
>>52938236
Variant Tieflings, Anon. Nobody even plays that basic one anymore. The shitposters you're attacking usually use the STR/CHA variant, Pitborn.

Otherwise, you had a good take on the "normal" one. But remember the variants!
>>
>>52938268
Minotaurs are a fun fantasy that I would assume many people would immediately think of when considering non-human options in a Grecian setting, so for that reason alone it may be worth considering trying to include a toned-down version of them for players unless it's a choice you actively want to discourage.

Centaurs and / or Fauns may be worth consideration, I'm certain you could create balanced versions of them for players.
>>
>>52938387

>>
>>52938268
I like your elves. Immortality being a curse is neato and murderelves are always great.

As for other playable races you could have Satyrs or Maenads, unless those are beastfolk. Mermaids are a thing, but weird due to... being mermaids. Centaurs are super cool as a playable race but minotaur level of weird and possibly too powerful. Harpies sort of the same due to flight, except harpies are usually incredibly dumb and thus not that fit for playing unless you change that.
>>
>>52938380
Fair enough, I'll readily admit to not being very well-versed in the full milieu of Tiefling options. Looks like Pitborn does in fact have those stats, but I have to laugh even harder at anyone using it to justify playing a cute character when the description for Pitborn, at least the one I'm seeing, describes them as "Savage and monstrous". Obviously, Depends On The Setting, but cute tieflings still sound super stupid to me.

In my current campaign I have a player playing a selkie. I'm used to water shenanigans. Although I may have to pull a little mermaid to let them onto land. This is the same player who made centaur character for my other friend's campaign so that is a great option. Centaur are hilarious.
>>
>>52938441
Harpies could be cool! Flying options are always fun.

btw, here's the stats I had worked out for the Medusa, though I've taken to calling them the Maedu in my setting for fluff reasons:

Maedu
Medium Monstrous Humanoid
Darkvision 60ft
Speed 30
Ability Scores: +2 Con, +2 Dex, -2 Int. Maedu are tough and move with the speed of a striking snake, but the cacophony of small reptilian minds linked with their own taxes their minds.

+3 Natural Armor: Where a Maeudu's skin isn't covered in scales, the flesh is abnormally tough.

All-Around Vision (Ex): A Maedu’s snake-hair allows her to see in all directions. Meadu gain a +4 racial bonus to Perception checks and cannot be flanked.

Basilisk's Cursed Gaze (Su): 30 ft. range. While a Maedu's regular eyes are open, they take 1d6 points of dexterity damage per round as their features begin to calcify and turn to stone, though they may reduce this damage to 1 with a successful Will save (DC = 10 + 1/2 HD + Charisma modifier). Anyone meeting a Maedu's gaze while their eyes are open takes 1d6 points of dexterity damage, and can make a Will save of the same DC to negate the damage. Anyone who's dexterity reaches 0 as a result of this is permanently turned to stone. A Maedu cannot reduce the ability damage taken from using this ability to less than 1.

The idea with the gaze was to give them a petrifying gaze that wasn't save or die, and had a more interesting regulatory mechanic than "X uses per day and some racial feats". Typically, Maedu keep their main eyes shut and covered with a blindfold to help prevent accidents—the vision their snake hair provides is more than enough for them to function.

I figured reducing the damage die of the natural attack balanced out the poison. The TN alignment was meant to be a sort of middle ground between the three different entothropes that have very different alignments (LE, LN, CN).

That sounds like a great way to kick things off. And provide a good reason for the party to stay together and build bonds (or rivalries) between them.

Maybe with constrict as a natural ability. I'd like to give the gaze ability to the player as a quest reward, though. I like giving my players buffs like that. I was thinking that each player would have a patron god they worship who essentially uses divine favor to level them up. High level NPCs will either be similarly favored people or the children of the gods.

Core races for a homebrew setting where 99% of magic is Ki based. Despite my attempts at balancing it as a player race, currently there's no reason to think any players are going to actually be playing them—I'm primarily going to use them as NPCs with a strong monastic tradition. I know they're kinda strong in regards to that, but monasticism and spiritual discipline is fluffwise supposed to literally be the thing that stopped them from devolving into raving snake mutants, so it kinda makes sense that that's the thing they're best suited for, even if the balance still needs work.

>>
>>52939153

STR and CHA should get your 17s, while CON gets the 15. WIS gets the 9, since you have a ridiculous Will save anyhow. You won't have a lot of skillpoints with 11 INT, but you're human, and can grab an extra as your FCB, so the 14 goes to DEX.

At least, that's what I'd do.
>>

>>52938974
If I hadn't already questioned them I would have sworn you two were my players. I have an elf ranger and a human druid who regularly sleep together in my campaign like this.
>>
>>52939298
It's dependent on how much body contact you have and how large the insulator you're in is. If two people are smushed up against each other with around 50% of their surface area in contact inside a sleeping bag, clothing is optional. If they're not in a sleeping bag or other enclosed heat-conserving space, or if they're just next to each other instead of actively attempting to fuse, then yeah put some fucking clothes on.

Basically, clothes keep your heat in. If you're already in something keeping your heat in and the heat that leaves you goes to them and vice versa, then clothing doesn't really matter.

My group is full of fruity casters so I'm looking to play a big beefy manly man in order to keep everyone safe. I think I've got most of my build sorted out, but I need help deciding on a feat. This is all for a first level character.

My armor class should be around ~18 starting out, my fortitude and reflex saves are both at 5, and my HP is 11 (unless I want to shuffle my stats around, in which case it would be 12).

I know if I'm going to take Toughness it's going to be better sooner than later, so it's my primary choice for the time being, especially since 11 HP seems a little low to start with for a character like this. That being said, I just found out about the feat Antagonize, which seems like the exact sort of thing I'd want to take for what I'm looking to do. With how I have everything set up currently, my Intimidate score should be around ~9, so I think that could be a fun option as well.

Alternatively, if you have any other recommendations, I'm open to those as well.
>>
>>52939739
Better is good right? And the young could use some direction. It's nice to have people in your life with more experience than you to learn from.
>>
>>52939749
My rule for level 1 starts is always "double your max hp at 1st level" and that solves a few issues.

>>52939739

>>
>>52939763
Look into the Bodyguard feat. you should have enough feats to pick it up at some point if you're playing a fighter.

Just bear in mind if you do this that there's a feat called Dirty Fighting that counts as a bunch of different prereqs so that you can bypass some bullshit.
>>
>>52939781
Are they? I don't really know much about how combat/death/dying works just yet so I wasn't sure if they were good options. Do you mind explaining them to me?

>>52939784
That's what I was thinking. I'm just worried I won't have time to pick up all the feats I'm eventually going to want if I start with something like Toughness right away.

>>52939806
Bodyguard and Dirty Fighting were definitely on the list of feats I'm looking at eventually taking. Unfortunately I'm not playing a Fighter so I don't have quite as much wiggle room as I'd like to when it comes to feats. That's why I'm trying to get the most out of the few feats I get to take.

>>
>>52939764
What I'd really like to learn is why she thinks she can steal Mengkare from me?!
>>
>>52939860
Dirty Fighting helps a lot, so I recommend taking it early if you can; Martials lack a lot of options in combat, so if you convince one of your team's squishies to summon flankers for you? you can trip, bull rush, move, blind, grapple, and whatever else in relative safety and free of AoOs from the target.

At higher levels full attacks are generally more worthwhile, and at early levels the combat maneuvers you need to take down a target to protect your allies are more valuable since you can't insta-gib targets like a high level character can. Additionally, getting the feat that says "you can blanket ignore a huge number of prerequisites" is a godsend for versatility in feat selection later on.

Here's the thing: it's sneak-attack damage based on knowing where to put a knife. All that requires is a working knowledge of anatomy, and the thing that works for that? Doctors.

Suddenly, you're just a doctor practicing preventative medicine by shanking evil people, and then patching up your teammates afterwards. think Mordin Solus from Mass Effect.

I wish I had that monk player in my last game. We keep having to figure out the weight of various body parts, with or without flesh, of various animals in addition to humans. It's really awkward googling "How much does the average skeleton of a small human weigh?".

Fucking necromancers.
>>
>>52940472
Alright, how about this one?

Who is your favorite Overlewd app, and why? What do you wish they did?
>>
>>52940509
That's also funny because now because she's playing a necromancer for the first time and using this knowledge to her advantage.
>>
>>52940519
Tiny titty curse cat. Because she's adorable and a neato concept. That she would be in the game somehow despite not being able to play, I guess.
>>
>>52940430
Non-sentient ones though, you need to then Awaken the animal after you anthropomorphise it.

I have too many favorites to name them all, anon. Hell, I can't even remember most of them. I haven't even gotten to play many things, a fact that's making me EXTREMELY sad.

>Sanctified Slayer Inquisitor, because fuck yea it's everything I like about the Slayer on a 6th caster
>Empiricist Investigator, because I just REALLY LIKE Investigator, even though it requires you to be level 5 before you can actually participate in anything.
>Warlock Vigilante is my baby and I'm still disappointed in myself for not playing one yet, and which I am STILL MAD about it requiring me to harass a 3pp dev endlessly in order to make its main gimmick be anything but a joke
>Kensai Magus is my favorite Magus archetype just because of what it's supposed to be, it's just a damn shame that it's "mono-focus on one weapon" gimmick is so poorly done. Like, damn son, a prime opportunity to make an actually good Weapon Training based Magus and Paizo fucking BLEW IT
>>
>>52940554
Please tell me they are (ab)using the hell out of Sculpt Corpse.
>>
>>52940497
They can reliably ignore the gish framework, the same way that the Bard and the 9-level divine casters can- that is, they can focus on using their awesome powers and neat bag of tricks to solve problems. Unfortunately, they can't take Panoplies, but a lenient GM will likely allow it- Silksworn has its own advantages, anyhow, with how it boosts Save DCs and grants INT+CHA Mental Focus

>>52940519
Fahd, Allanz, and Crytha.

Fahd for being an asshole cat, Allanz for being a cute knightboy, and the gnoll for... well, being the only gnoll. The ONLY gnoll, because no one thought about playing a drow or orc or kobold or lizardman.
>>
>>52940582
>liking the gnoll

Nice try, Roryanon.
>>
>>52940555
Precisely. It's the archetype for alchemists that wanna make furries. Why would you faggots wanna play a furry-maker? That's disgusting
>>
>>52940570
What exactly do you like about Warlock Vigilante?

I was thinking about build a Vigilante as my next character but I feel like I don't know enough about them to know how I'd want to build it just yet.
>>
>>52940582
Honestly, I am surprised nobody played a lizardfolk. The lore's even got Dragon Commander style posh city lizards.
>>
>>52940375

Well, I've played the Beastmorph/Vivisectionist before-had a ridiculous amount of fun with that one, I admit. As for alignment, it's pretty easy not to be a psychopath-Sneak Attack isn't inherently evil, and you're not necessarily compelled to turn captured enemies into helpless creatures or use half-human abominations to drive fear into the hearts of the populace.
>>
>>52940570
Don't think I don't recognize those favorites.
>>
>>52940613
>_>

<_<

I'd play it for that purpose if given the chance.

Man, am I not allowed to point something out? A lot of applications for Overlewd have been some manner of human or near-human (i.e aasimar, tiefling, ethumion, refluffed lashunta), there's a number of DSP monster classes in there (troll, ghoul, ghost, like a half-dozen succubi), there's THREE cats, and yet

Nobody opted to play a drow. Or an orc. Or a kobold. Or a lizardman, just variations of humans and DSP monsters. The gnoll stands out because it's a gnoll, regardless of the infamy of the creator.

>>52940661
Well

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

>What exactly do you like about Warlock Vigilante?

It's a halfcaster gish whose main class feature is "I rapidfire energy blasts at your face, or slap you with energy". It's a very videogamey spellcaster, but the problem is that those energy blasts scale like utter dogshit UNLESS you go Jollylock with Legendary Villains: Vigilantes, which requires your GM to be okay with 3pp. Even then, unless you have feat taxes enabled, you'll be choking a bit on the feats and talents you'll need until later levels.

>he ONLY gnoll, because no one thought about playing a drow or orc or kobold or lizardman.
I feel like that's because the kind of people that would play Orcs and Lizardmen aren't the kind of people that would play in a lewdgame.
>>
>>52940200
I have a ton that I can't think about right now, but just off the top of my head is the Monk of The Healing Hand. While not being able to heal yourself is a pain, the other two class features are very flavorful. Especially the True Sacrifice.

Once it happened during a very long campaign from level 1 to 20, and it was the most dramatic thing to happen in my gaming groups in a long time.

That's the one where you obliterate yourself from existence in exchange for a party rez, right?

Orcs, kobolds, and to lesser extent lizardmen are all shit tier races.

Drow have the drizzt/spiders/being dickbag players stigma.
>>
>>52940789
Oh.

I don't go on reddit so I didn't know that question was posted there.

Why in the world are you on reddit, anon?
>>
>>52940799
You could always import my Dragonborn, although I will admit that they don't have much going for them outside of the flavor and color giving variety to the stat arrays.
>>
>>52940733
Hey, just my two cents. I was half-expecting one or two jokes about, what, shortstack kobolds and BGC, but it was succ all the way down.

I'll give you that, but I'm one of those faggots who likes shitty races, and a lot of these monster races happen to be, well

shitty.

...At level 16.
That's not relevant in 80% of campaigns and should have come online way earlier.

So how does Jolly Content make a warlock vigilante not shit?

Actually you could swap out still spell if you're willing to sacrifice a swift every time you cast.
