I appreciate the effort that goes into making these things, but hoenstly I don't like CYOAs that use "points".

I much prefer the kind where it's like "take X amount of options from this section". If you can take problems to get more options in said sections, that's fine too. But when there's points involved I just get overwhelmed and worry about not making the best use of that last 5 points that are always fucking left over.

While I personally disagree and enjoy point based CYOAs,
>making the best use of that last 5 points that are always fucking left over.
I 100% agree. 99% of CYOAs would benefit from having something purchasable for the lowest possible denominator for your points, even if it's just "you get 1000 freedom fries or dollary doodles", or "your dick is .1 inches bigger" or some shit. Seeing that little bit left over tickles my OCD.

My goal is to create an semi-isolated nation devoted to peace and the preservation of nature. I plan on using Alchemy and some help from the Dryads to make the Island fertile and the water drinkable.

I chose lycanthropy and the werewolf followers so that I could make more werewolves, and I picked Intimidation & Natural Leader so that I could control all them.

I'm using the General to build up a big defense force, I'll open up the island to trade so I can gain money from tourism, and trade. The tourists can also be taken in as werewolves to increase my ranks.

Regarding the fact that I'm going to be mining and cutting down tress, I'm planning on instituting a conservation plan, so that the forests won't be exhausted, and the mining wont cause any environmental damage.

The King and the Monster Army should be easy enough to deal with using my intimidation, werewolf followers, highly trained military, and fully mapped out & protected island nation.

The trolls, goblins and orcs will be no match for me and my pack in combat, and if I can manipulate the islands plant life into attacking them aswell, then this issue should be gone very quickly. As for the king, I'll most likely have to resort to stealth, conversion and guerrilla tactics to take him and his army down, but I'll make sure he never leaves my island alive.

Goblin Sewers: It has a lot of treasure, which is perfect for my plans.
Miser: The fact that I start out in the sewers means that I can amass a fortune incredibly quickly, pleasing my patron and making my golems incredibly powerful. I can easily bypass traps by having the golems give me a ride, and the goblins/mutated beast aren't much of a match against my bodyguards. Hopefully I can find a good ranged weapon so I can snipe from my elevated position. The fact that I have access to alchemy is also a nice bonus, as it means I can turn obstacles into dust or easily get the materials and/or ammunition that I need.
Monster Book, Dungeon Map: The monster book lets me know what I am up against so I can adapt accordingly. The Dungeon Map also gives me directions so I don't wander aimlessly. The other boons can be done by my golems: they can keep guard while I sleep and carry my stuff. The waystones don't say anything about transporting companions, and I am virtually useless without my backup.
Shopkeepers: I need basic goods like water, safe food, and a bunch of healing potions. I'm sure my patron won't mind if I spend a little money on the bare necessities.
Other Adventurers: Humans are social creatures, and I don't want to deal with the psychological effects of isolation. I assume the golems are not intelligent and do not posses special skills, so the adventurers should address that. I'm sure they will see the benefits of having a guy who has a lot of cash on hand and controls powerful automatons who can do the heavy lifting.
Dark Knights: The others are either too smart or too creepy for me to deal with. Dark Knights don't use subtlety, so they will just walk in and get demolished by a gang of constructs and adventurers. Not to mention, I can always transmute their armor and weapons into dust.

Lisa was a girl who loved the sea. White sands, clear blue water, the sound of waves, and beautiful shells were her favorite things in the world. And The Little Mermaid one of her favorite movies. Teitatat discerned her desires and saw how they could be used. When the Eunuch made her the dark pact, he offered her the chance to live an eternity traveling the endless seas of the multiverse and witnessing their wonders, all while being granted a new, eternal, and supremely sexy new body. She hesitated when her new duties were explained to her, and thought long and hard about it. But in the end the chance was to much to pass up and she accepted the new position and her new role in life.

Not really. But I did think about the confusion from the thread before last and I think the reason you guys misinterpret my Lavender characters is you think of them as people. They are people of course (or very minor Goddesses really), but I think youcan understand them better if you think of them as objects first and then as people. They're all carefully designed to fulfill very specific purposes like tools. That's why they're so valuable and so highly sought after and cared for.

>>52919592

Yeah, there's some pretty strange stuff in Lavender. From the description, I think Puzzle Genitalia is meant to cover anything that isn't some sort of vag or dick. But the cyoa's so out there you could probably make some kind of pizza god character if you really wanted to. I'm glad somebody took the time to read it even though it's kinda long!

Not really. While less usual now, families usually leave their young children under the care of a teen family member (their sister, aunt or cousin) under the supervision of said teen's mother. Rarely you would let a woman with no experience raising children become a wife.

The idea that we're only for babies is archaic and misogynistic! And Lavender is a lewd cyoa so I have lewd characters for it but I have tons of other characters for other cyoas that are not lewd at all and definitely have no intention of EVER getting pregnant! Most of them are les anyway! As I explained a couple threads ago, even my Lavender characters aren't as lewd as people seem to think. It's just their role in Teiatat's Court.

By ultimately leaving the general political makeup of Rome the same? It doesn't matter how successful you are in tactics, if you can;t accomplish your strategic goals its meaningless. Hannibal might have been extremely good at fucking over Rome for a time, he was extremely bad at doing what he wanted. I mean Genseric did more with less if we're being honest.

Open texture in a new tab in PS.

Should still apply in something like gimp as far as compression is concerned and may even have an offset option. If not export as png, then use a program like irfran view to convert to jpg with a very little bit of compression, like 96% uncompressed. That should reduce your file size to be posted.

You see the "fur" on her tail (the Ryu)? That's a common feature on chinese dragons, but NOT on Lamia or snakes of any kind. Horns are another one.

You could ditch the scale hands and use a drawing with similar fur and horns and I would fully accept it as a(n eastern) dragon girl

Er, horns are another common feature of dragons. I wouldn't quite go so far as to say they don't belong on Lamia of any kind, but they are slightly out of place and suggest the Lamia in question is something more than just a snakegirl. I wouldn't take horns by themselves to mean that the girl is in fact a dragongirl though.

This is true of Alice as well, who does have horns be isn't any kind of dragongirl. Something like that my first guess would be part succubus.

Oh, also interestingly enough the Greek Echinda is described exactly as a Lamia. To quote: "half a nymph with glancing eyes and fair cheeks, and half again a huge snake, great and awful, with speckled skin". Quite possibly one of the first monstergirls by modern definition. There are plenty of half women monsters in ancient myth, but they are almost always hideous.

Alice is a direct descendant of the original monster lord, and going all the way back you would see parentage being human men, and earlier monster lords until you get back to the original monster lord who was a goddess, and again presumably a human male. All other monster girls in setting are the result of the power of the original monster lord and how it can affect living beings, many can trace their ancestry back to one of I think six monster girls directly created by the original monster lord from ordinary plants/animals, others were created, or are descended from when the same power(usually referred to as dark magic) was used later on humans/animals, Succubi in particular are what happens when you expose human women to a lot of dark magic. So in a way Alice isn't actually part serpent, or succubus, but that lamia and succubi are part her. Alice herself doesn't have any snake in her, but if she filled a snake with her power it would become a lamia. If you find the right natural creature to make a dragon from(it's never stated what exactly they come from as far as I recall) she could turn it into a dragon girl by filling it with her power.
>>
>>52922801

>>
>>52922801

>>
>>52922801
Oh to add to this, Alice is not part angel, as in setting angels are all from Ilias, who has always been opposed to the monster lords and monster girls since it has always been impossible for her and the monster lord to interact. The dark magic of the monster lord and the light magic of Ilias don't mix well, they kind of explode and cause temporal paradoxes.
>>52922865
Sorry, though I do hope Angel finds art of a dragon/lamia/angel with wings and normal hands, because I have never seen anything like that and would love to see it.
>>52922899
Alice is the current monster lord, the original monster lord sealed herself away because Ilias refused to give in, compromise in any way, or stop fighting her, and if they continued they could have destroyed the world. The seal would only come loose if the dark magic levels reach a certain level, namely to indicate that most monster girls and the monster lord of the time have all died and their dark magic has been released. Also in monster girl quest monster girls and humans are entirely capable of living together without even any rape happening. It actually seems that monster girls have an easier time living with humans than with other monster girls.

I highly value versatility. There isn't much that is more versatile than this. I can shape my body to perfectly suit my needs, reshape my landscape, and I should be a fairly formidable melee combatant with some other magic to fall back on.

>Boons
Bonfires
Waystones

I chose these because they are associated with knowledge that I can attain as opposed to items I can carry. I can live without an item that I'm capable of losing anyway, and I can have lower quality items that serve the same purposes (Regular backpacks, regular books, and regular maps. I can also use my druid powers to construct a decent home with a bonfire in the center.)

Items can be compensated for. But I'll never be able to get those bonfires/wayshrines to work for me if I don't take this shit.

Magic is just technology we can't explain yet, ESPECIALLY to somebody like the Enterprisers, who would be used to dealing with various forms of "magic" and technobabbling the hell out of them.

I think the question is more along the lines of "could they be convinced to go with it" which is where the "con" part of the question it comes in. Also, could they even extract her at all?

Anyway I just thought it was an interesting idea, kill two birds with one stone and no violence needed. Of course, my own build doesn't take either one and wouldn't have room for both anyway (I'm the one who just relies on Saber to deal with pretty much everything except Jofag)

I don't know, I honestly hadn't thought about it much. She would probably rather stick around and torment you, or in the best case, simply copy herself so both of you have to deal with her. That might be enough to satisfy the Enterprisers, though.
>>
New thread:
>>52925480
>>
>>52925250
I was paraphrasing the corollary. The pair reads: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and any sufficiently analyzed magic is indistinguishable from technology." Magic and technology are fundamentally the same thing, the only difference is our understanding of the underlying phenomena.

More accurately, magic does not exist. Magic is literally defined as something impossible within the universe. If something impossible exists, than it is not impossible. If something appears to be magic, and therefor appears to be impossible, what that actually means is that we do not understand enough about the universe to explain it and/or what we think we know is wrong.

There's no exception to this. If it exists, than it is governed by some kind of laws, even if those laws are nothing but abstract chaos or the whim of some mad god (said god itself having some underlying explanation, if you are capable of digging deep enough).
>>
>>52925626
>Magic and technology are fundamentally the same thing, the only difference is our understanding of the underlying phenomena.
It entirely depends on the fictional setting the author in-question.

>More accurately, magic does not exist.
Magic does not exist, period. Whereby it automatically loses the capability of being definable.

>There's no exception to this. If it exists, than it is governed by some kind of laws, even if those laws are nothing but abstract chaos or the whim of some mad god (said god itself having some underlying explanation, if you are capable of digging deep enough).
In some fictional universes, this just doesn't apply. 'Word of God' is a thing.
>>
>>52925626
Magic is entirely fictional, it really does rely on the author and his/her creation(s).

Look at these two fictional pieces;
Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice & Fire
>Magic explicitly does not occupy the same position as the natural laws and sciences, being wholly hated and despised by the Maesters for it not being sufficiently analyzable.

Dungeons & Dragons
>The Arcane is sourced (in most campaign-settings) from a fictional tap of reserves, such as the Weave (Forgotten Realms) or one of the three moons (Dragonlance), or something entirely cosmic (Mystara), and is entirely dealt with in a scientific method by all manner of Wizards.

Magic being magic, it is fiction (as it doesn't exist as it is) and can't be brought down to the real world in terms of definition.

You're all idiots trying to define shit that isn't real.

But the authors do have authority here, not you.

"Magic" is only a thing that can exist by contrast to the real world. From outside the setting we can easily name and define magic. Inside the setting that point of contrast would be the setting itself.

Therefor the author can say that "this is magic, I defined it" etc, but from an in-universe perspective it is simply how the world works, and therefor no different than any kind of technology (which the author is also free to define as being impossible in-universe, therefor making real-world objects "magic" from the perspective of that universe).

Death of the author is a useful literary perspective. You are allowed to analyse a setting and completely ignore whatever the author or anyone else says about that setting, going entirely on the work itself.

Besides, a CYOA of this kind is supposed to take place "in the real world". Also, we are dealing with characters from yet another universe who have their own established way of looking at things and wouldn't accept the "magic" explanation to begin with.

Surely you love some more than others wink wink ?
>>

I think the point here is that if the author declares 'magic is not a science' then it's not a science.

This isn't debateable in all honesty.
>>
>>52925962
You're literally making no sense at all.

You're also discrediting fiction as a whole, verbally speaking.

Just realized how many typos are in eds description let me fix it

>If it exists, it's science.
>If it's fiction, it doesn't exist, therefore it can't be a science.
>But to the fictional verse, it does exist.
>But the fictional verse exists as it does because of the author

Magic, science and technology being all-the-shame is literally impossible to answer if you take all of this into account.

Pointless discussion.
Also been done to death.

And what relevance does that have to anything? The real world exists because of God, but that doesn't make it any less real to us.

I don't know about the details, but the picture is of a Canadian First Nations actress. Forgot her name at the moment. It's a screencap from the trailer to "Throat Singing", a movie about their lives.

The real world exists only because we can comprehend it.

>Forge of the Final Battle
>Path of the Zealot - Pariah
>Bonfires & Waystones
>Kobolds & Adventurers
>Dark Elves

Trapped in a hellish maze, I know I'll be quick to grow callous and domineering, might as well exploit this and gain magic domination powers as I go.
The Waystones will aid in getting around quickly as I explore and the Bonfires will help keep me safe.
Kobolds will help with troublsome obstacles whilst the adventurers can help show me the ropes starting out, though they may become obstacles soon enough.
The Forges will help hide me from the Dark Elves in the begining and as I grow in power, the slaves, Dark Elves and, I intend, eventually the demons will become subservient to me as I forget all about finding a way home and rather just become another permanent resident, a fixture even, to the labyrinth itself.
