There's different options that can be situationally worth more or less.

In HoMM, finding the best move isn't always obvious. In Disciples, it is much more so. You never, ever touch half the buildings/upgrades if you want to actually win.

Then again, it's been literally more than a decade since I played Disciples last, maybe the meta evolved since and I was just a scrubby scrub.

The best strategy always depends on what faction you're playing against and often on your objective as well. With the exception of a couple of utterly broken units, such as the elven gatling archers.

Not the official HD version, the unofficial HD mod that's better in every way.

Comes with a ton of comfort features for army management and general gameplay, better random map generation templates, compatibility, more resolutions (but no scaled up graphics), works with all the expansions and the fanmade HotA expansion.

There's really no reason to not use the HD mod.

So, you're a god of a Shard of a shattered world, you conquer neutral shards and contest over shards claimed by other gods. You are very powerful in astral, but on material plane, you're small and almost powerless. You do the conquests and management through "Heroes". Provinces can be conquered by force, or taken over by gold, diplomacy and intrigue.

You know, I believe it has to do with the fall of the Soviet Union. AoW2 isnt that different from AoW 3, the biggest difference was that units could actually miss their attacks as they didnt represent stacks, instead of varying damage like it is in AoW 3.

The other big difference were that siege battles in AoW2 could be approached from different sides, leading to way cooler siege battles.

AoW 3 is still a good game, dont listen to nostalgia fags.

Basically Age of WOnders 2 did everyhting HoMM 4 tried but did it better, which is one of the reasons HoMM 4 is an irrelevant game.

HoMM needed innovation, but Age of WOnders did it for them and actually did it far better. Thats why HoMM is stagnating and keeps shitting out the same game over and over again with minor adjustments to hero advancement.

Genesis. MotBW is just Genesis with upgraded graphics and a handful of new units, but also performance and optimization issues. Genesis plays smoother and is just comfier.
MotBW had an exnasion pack to it though, haven't played it myself but from what I've heard it's the same core with dumb additions that aren't even useful.
Genesis also has an unoffical mod (New Horizons) that completely revamps many mechanics.

Oh, yes, I'm not saying its a new thing, what I mean is that it is so used now it doesn't mean anything anymore, and its like designers and concept artists go into the territory of glowing lights way too soon and often without good reason.

You can think of 100 games that have caverns with cyan neon blue mushrooms lighting the whole place up and killing any mood of horror that could rise up. You can't think of 100 games that need you to carry a torch to light the way.

I think adding glow to something allows you to cover the fact your creation is cheap and rushed in the first place. It's also why most fantasy art produced in the last decade is speed painting shit instead of the detailed, flavourful art of pre-2000 years.

Not him, but Conflux is probably more OP than Necro. Necro needs a lot of time/space to get that skeleton ball rolling. Conflux just immediately starts raping you with super powered tiers 1-3 and fuckawesome heroes. They're also fast on the overland map.

Can't cast teleport. It's a third level spell and you don't have wisdom.

As for the comparison, a skeleton is empowered by dark magic or whatever the fuck it is holds that thing together. It has a real weapon instead of a pitchfork. Plus it's not wetting itself with fear and not wanting to be there. 1v1, they're considerably weaker than a pikeman, which is also a man, just a man with some training and a decent weapon.
