[spoilers]Apologies if my Exalted-fu is a bit weak, here. The game mechanics are mostly bollocks anyways.[/spoiler]

Let me tell you a tale. A story of how I ended up in one of the worst places in the entire Multiverse to be a normal person, a story of how I ended up part of a terrible sitcom, how I got to experience something akin to fatherhood for a few years, and then experiencing humility in no small measure.

I had been recruited to look after a young Solar Exalt named She-Of-Fair-Eyes, while also having a bizarre Fate to constantly attract bandits of increasingly colorful designs in addition to having the world's worst roommate traveling with me. First thing I notice is that I'm a lot slower to learn things and a lot of my skills have gone down to muscle memory. Oh, and my magic and spider powers don't work. And most of my items are gone. And my Warehouse.
>>
>>52827874
Fucked up the spoiler. SCREW IT LET'S KEEP GOING.

Let me summarize my reaction upon comprehending where I was:

'Oh hey, I'm in Creation.'

'OH FUCK I'M IN CREATION.'

Everything I had experienced to this point could be overcome with grit and guns. But not only am I a mortal, I'm a mortal at the start of the Age of Sorrows. You know the thing about worlds where adventure is around every corner? Where there's always some plot hook for an aspiring hero to grab? Yeah, it's complete and utter hell for the mooks and ordinary people who live in said world. I had to survive it all. Which meant running away from anyone who glowed or was on fire, picking my battles, and getting very good at tactical retreats and fighting unfairly.

Ten years is actually a pretty short time for a stay in Exalted, but as a mortal, it is a harrowing walk on razors.

And then there was She-Of-Fair-Eyes and her eventual not-a-sister, Makoto. I'm not good with kids. At all. Much less kids who will eventually grow up into things like royalty or goddess-queens or things like that. She didn't mind very much. Initially, she was unhappy with the arrangement like I was, and being a caretaker to an Exalt is a bit like trying to ask a dragon five times your size to please stop destroying your village. Okay, it wasn't THAT bad, but…I have no idea how to do this 'parent' or 'caretaker' thing. Eventually, though, we started getting along better

When I tried recreating my poncho with some cloth we had found at a market, she tried making a little one of her own. It took all of my ability to keep a gruff expression and not reveal a proud smile. I was getting attached. After a while, it didn't feel like I was a helpless mortal hero escorting a pair of child Exalts. It was just us, a traveling family.
>>
>>52827886
Of course, all good things come to an end eventually. I made the mistake of joining a local martial arts tournament in a seemingly-isolated town, a bit more distant from the Realm's stretch of the Scavenger Lands. The winner got a handful of treasure and what I assume was a minor artifact. Sure enough, aside from a few close calls, I rolled over the competition.

Then I met her. A tall, imposing woman with untidy golden hair and a lazy expression. I sized her up. Sure, she looked like she punched like a runaway dump truck, but I had beaten opponents twice my size before. I could handle this, even without magic, web powers, my gun, or even my sword. I pat Eyes' head and told her I would definitely win if she rooted for me.

I was a complete and utter idiot.

I should have realized something was wrong when she offered me a few 'free hits'. Turns out it felt like I was punching concrete, and my stomach sank when I realized my mistake. I was then punched and knocked into a wall, feeling my bodes rattle and bruises form from nearly head to toe.

I was still on my feet. Whoever or whatever she was, she hadn't used any Charms yet. She was just that fucking strong. The smart thing to do would have been to forfeit right there. Then I looked back and saw Eyes and Makoto both watching me. I struggled to look brave and smiled at them before getting into a stance.

Remember the basics of CQC. The opponent is obviously physically superior to me, but I have over a century of skill and experience. I'd tire them out. Dance around them. Strike at joints or gaps in their defenses, use their movements against them, turn around the momentum and just knock them off their feet. A quick blow to the chin and it looked like I knocked her off balance. I ran in for the finishing blow and…
>>
>>52827901
She grabbed me and smirked. Not even a scratch. She then frowned and whispered something to me…

"You should have known better." She spoke like she was lecturing a child.

I don't remember what happened after that aside from my head hurting a lot and everything going dark.

To my surprise, I was still alive…though I was out for at least a day and had bandages around my head. Apparently a companion of the woman went through the trouble of patching me up and saving my life. I didn't learn until later that Eyes had run out into the ring between me and her, and this made my opponent hesitate. That was the only reason I was still alive. She fully planned to kill me to set an example….the crowd cheering for her the entire time.

Eyes and Makoto were right next to me when I woke up, to my immense relief. To them, as well. The one who had patched me up, a man with blue hair and glasses, apologized for the close call and said he'd be paying for our journey…we obviously looked like we needed the money. I thanked him, and then he said…"It's just the way things are."

Total defeat stung worse than I thought it did, as did the reminder I'd eventually be a completely obsolete factor in the lives of the two I had done my best to raise. I was, after all, only human. I had no idea if I'd ever return to Creation, or if I'd ever taste Exaltation. Or if they'd ever overcome the Great Curse in their adulthood.

I did my best to conceal my fears and worries, and act like I always did. A few more years of helping Eyes and Makoto grow up together and get along better, a few more years of running away from scarily competent trackers, of running away from those stronger than me, that I could never hope to surpass or make a difference against. It was…exhausting.
>>
>>52827912
Finally, at the end, it was time to say goodbye. I lost sleep over the final decision. Over whether to take the two with me, away from Creation…but as long as I didn't have an answer for the Great Curse, it was just a huge risk to both them and other worlds. At least in Creation, time would be halted, and maybe, somehow, I could…

…but maybe, it was more that I couldn't stand the idea of holding them back. Of my own flaws, failings, and inability to keep up with them being a constant burden. I wanted to be a memory. Something that could cherish and look back on fondly. Something no chain or events in Creation could take away from them.

I said goodbye as they were taken back by the Gold Faction.

It rained a lot.

Apologies for the huge postdump at thread start. I had all this typed up right when page 11 happened.

Question for KOTORanon. Your Star Wars supplement says that hyperspace-capable ships function normally, even if good maps are strongly encouraged. Am I correct in assuming that the same holds true for hyperspace communications systems? This may or may not be mildly vital to some of my plans.

I'm working on Divinity: Original Sin. Work is going well I think.

I would love to see an Ava's Demon Jump. I would do it myself, but I don't think I could do it justice. It would require some real talent behind it.
http://www.avasdemon.com/

I'd also like to see a Poppy O'Possum Jump, which I know I'll have to do myself if I want to see it done. It's fluffy. But it's a really cool world.

There's a couple of video game Jumps I'm thinking about working on after Divinity, but we'll see what happens. I like to keep my claims list short.

Ava's Demon and Poppy O'Possum are both good and would make good jumps, but I'm scared about "shocking reveals" necessitating changes to the jumps after it's been written. On the subject, Cucumber Quest falls into a similar niche.

So I'm going to start a gimmick chain based around MtG Summoning. The Jumper's primary goal is going to be gaining as many interesting and rare summoning patterns as he can find while exploring the Multiverse and building a hoard of artifacts.

I'm also going to houserule that he can teach other people land magic and can retain one mana bond from each jump into future jumps as long as it's somewhere of greater significance than a normal bond.

Jumpers #: Kamigawa

>Male
>22
>Jukai Forest
>Human
>Yamabushi - 100

Perks:
>Jumper of Flesh and Spirit - 500
>Mana Fount - 0
>Summoning - 200

Lands:
>Basic Lands x4 - [200] - 400

Drawbacks
>Exorsize + 100
>Fool's Errand + 100

I honestly don't know enough about Kamigawa to writefag here, so I'm just going to gloss over here.

Is there anything else like The Call Was Coming From Inside The House from Generic Creepypasta? It's a bit like a danger sense, except it tells you where a specific type of being is. Though it's more speculative than predictive, telling you not what /will/ happen as most such senses would, but also that something /might/ happen.
>>
>>52828238
That would be amazing.

>>52828323

>>
>>52828311
Yeah, that's part of the problem. There's still a lot of questions to be answered for both properties. Poppy should be mostly safe from world-shaking revelations, but one never knows.

I'll check out Cucumber Quest though. I haven't heard of it before. So many good things to read, so little time.

>Want to see
I want to see more Disney movies, because I think it's weird we don't have many of those. Like, Little Mermaid would be fun, with a 0 CP to put you in the Hans Christian Andersen version. This desire for Disney Film's may or may not have been caused by watching Moana while babysitting and being corrupted enough by this place to connect this song to the egos of jumpers.

I also think we should have gotten a Pepsiman jump for April Fools. And I'm also kicking myself for not making a Generic Stoner Film jump for 4/20.

Ok so I am working on a plan, using the following perk combo (along with extra stuff not mentioned) I want to work on a plan.

https://pastebin.com/05ReWqf5

So I will use the above combo in conjunction with my inner world from infernals (which is starting to get stupidly big now) to create lithomantic pillars and obelisks all across my inner world, then use crossing the dragon streams from devil survivor two and make my inner worlds leylines all cross at areas where the lithomantic pillars are so they can collect energy.

At the center of my inmer world I will have all the leylines converge into one point so that power is all collected into one point then condensed into a crystal form.

Over time the lithomantic collectors and condensers storing all the mana produced by my inner worlds leylines and the mana generated by the lands within should form a crystal of amazing power if I do it right. After a couple thousand years I will take the crystal and eat it.

So yeah that is my plan, I am attempting to create a mini conflux. Does this sound like a plausible idea or just batshit insane?

Inner world details here

Rapid power gain, cause I'm a bit of a wanker. Favorite jumps I do early on are PS238 & the Gamer
>>
>>52828418
Pokemon, obviously. Might pick up a wiafu, might not.

Minecraft is an early one, because it's awesome.

Sherlock is my third 'starter' jump, though it isn't always my third jump, and lets me pick up a bunch of intelligence perks.

Fate Extra is also good, as it lets you pick up a decent amount of bullshit in relative safety.

So, a question about the Gravity Falls jump. The "Let's Make a Deal" drawback implies that either your body becomes incorporeal or that it simply doesn't exist for the duration of the jump by the fact that it says nothing else is walking around in your body and that you can't simply re-enter it for free points. What I want to know is if it's possible to use a replacement body, like a gigai from Bleach, a soulless clone(using Evangelion's tech), a Human Replica Droid from Star Wars or a Life Model Decoy from Marvel, or if that for some reason wouldn't work with the drawback.

What do you mean? Star Wars 'hyperspace communications systems' consists of sending communications and mail on FTL courier ships, not some FTL radio. It's a space opera after all.
I have no idea if this is actually true or not
>>
>>52828418
I usually prefer going to low-power jumps. Particularly ones that have some decent magic or durability perks.

As for my favorite ones, Rust is a pretty good early jump. It has a 1up perk and while it strangely doesn't have a dedicated survival skill perk it forces you to pick some up quickly.

Bastion is another i like to visit early, the Wild perk-line is quite good for survival & being able to communicate with animals somewhat is always helpful.

Maybe something about how all the friends supposedly embody some unconscious personal growth thing?

Like, I think Edwardo was imagined by a little girl because she wanted someone to protect her, but he ended up timid enough that she had to learn to stand up for herself so she could protect him. And Wilt's guy was an absolute douchebag, so Wilt ended up the nicest guy ever to teach him to not be a douchebag. Or something like that, it's been years since I've seen the show, and even when it was on I hardly watched it.

Obviously, a jumper who tried to abuse this to get infinite power would end up with someone who had absolutely no desire to use their abilities, in order to teach jumper that there are more important things than powerlevels.

Pokemon first since it's the only time you can take it. Then I try to find a jump I can survive that will allow me to get 2 more companions(to have the import limit of 8) and doesn't have good enough import options to want to import 8 companions. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and generic Digimon can work well for this, the former only has import for one specific companion, but it costs CP and doesn't give them any, and you can instead get a new companion for free, while the latter has not import option and gives you your Digimon partner as a companion.

I also try to get all companions who don't already have one a human(or passably human) alt. form before taking any jumps that not having one would stand out. For example, in Star Wars they might not stand out from the diverse species of the galaxy, but in say, Archer, they'd stand out pretty obviously.

Then I decide all the jumps where I want to have specific impacts on the plot, figure out what powers I'd need for each, and order them with additional jumps in between such that I have my required powers for each.

Beyond that if a jump/setting/power/ability/perk/item catches my interest I just stick it in somewhere I'm likely to survive it, but preferably before it becomes trivialized.

I try to arrange any super long jumps to happen after I've visited a lot of jumps with learnable magic(or similar) so I can use the time training those abilities and learning from all the books/scrolls/holocrons/etc that I stockpiled while I was there. For example if you get one of the perks that gives you control over your age, limitless lifespan, or halts your aging then jump Civ you'll have thousands of years to practice and screw around whenever you get bored of that.

And sometimes if a jump comes to my attention after it's already been trivialized I'll jump it anyway and just troll the natives as hard as I can as a sort of vacation.

It's because of the fairly common connection between "Undercover Superheros and Kidnapping Victims" and "Working at a newspaper.", combined with some empty slots for drawbacks.

Just copy the template and base perks on things.

Doing cata, the most obvious backgrounds would be:

Survivor, Scientist, Zombie, and maybe Mycus or whatever the sapient hivemind fungus is, possibly Triffid, and easily enough a Mutant background.

That covers just about everything major except cyborgs, really. You could also have a system where, in addition to the main background described above, you pick a 'start' profession like in the game that'll decide some extra discounts and starting items.

I'm a huge fan of Earthbound and I've played all the mainline games but I've never heard of this fan game, is it any good and would you recommend it bro?

Halloween mod Earthbound when?
>>
>>52827952
I'd like to see Torchwood and Sarah Jane to round out the Whoniverse.

X-men Evolution, Wolverine and the X-men and Smallville would both be cool, I'm always happy to see more Marvel and DC jumps. DC Universe Online could be especially cool if you could get companions with the player powersets, let those of us who've played make companions out of the characters we made.

I know not a lot of people liked these movies, but Jumper, Push and I Am Number 4 could be pretty cool settings to jump.

Life is Strange would be cool, but I imagine it'd be pretty hard to make balanced, with Time Travel being inherent to the setting and all.

More Star Wars would be good. Rogue One, new Timeline(Force Awakens, etc) and SWTOR are popular settings in the universe that I don't think we have jumps for yet.

More Digimon settings would also be great.

Maybe an additional jump to Pokemon Trainer's universe with a +0 drawback to keep continuity from the original since at this point the timeline of the games is more than 10 years. If you start at the beginning of the Kanto or Hoenn games you're leaving around the around the time the Alola story starts under the shortest interpretation of the timeline.

A random idea I had was a "Youtube Reaction/Let's Play" jump where like the Youtube jump you need to make the channel successful and get perks to that effect, but instead of being the youtuber you get inserted into shows/games they're reacting to/playing. You're in the setting for the duration of the plot, you can hear their commentary, and it's your job to spice things up. If you don't make it interesting enough you get pulled to a different setting as they drop that series/game and start a new one in its place. If too many of the reactions/let's plays flop you fail the jump.
>>
>>52829029
I can't speak much for the gameplay since most of my experience with it was from LPs. I liked it mostly for its concept: Leading up to the events of Earthbound and seeing what the events from Mother 1/Earthbound Zero lead into Giegue going from galactic conqueror to all-powerful idiot god of pure evil, which always struck me as really depressing and jarring when you compare what he was to what he became.

I'd give it an 'it's okay'.
>>52829041

Then wouldn't it make sense for villains to /not/ use your weakness (that you may or may not have) to go after you because they /don't/ know who you are? In all of those I can think of, it's always the hero being held hostage in their civilian identity and not being able to save themselves for some contrived reason.

Actually, partly true. Hyperspace "radio" with any decent quality at any decent range is expensive, both in terms of equipment and power, and the broadcast is also trackable if you've got the tools. Which is why the Emperor could place a call from Coruscant near the galactic core to Darth Vader's Star Destroyer out near the galactic boonies, but Leia couldn't simply transmit the Death Star plans to Yavin from the comfort of her corvette.
Or at least that's what I got from the original SWRPG books.

I'd rather have it so that you periodically get into predicaments in your civilian alter-ego that you for some reason can't or won't solve. Honestly, being constantly kidnapped in such a manner just sounds like it'd get stale after the first couple of times, let alone over 10 years.

What was it with the wizards here? They hid themselves from the "Muggles" as they called them and they feared to speak the name od a sorcerer who was dead for a decade when I awoke here – a sorcerer who died when he fumbled a spell to kill an infant, for that matter. And they all seemed to think I was the second coming of this wizard. And most egregiously, they

On the bright side, this world had very interesting magic and and even more interesting creatures. Familiar and yet different from the last were the creatures such as the goblins and the dragons. And the magic was very useful on a small scale, but followed seemingly illogical laws – my understanding of which was not helped by the obtuse teaching methods used at this school.

Nor by the fact that I was kid again. I've been in fist fights with multiple ogres at once before, but my second trip through puberty was an order of a magnitude worse. Do you have any idea how hard it is to take YOURSELF seriously when your voice keeps cracking at the most ridiculous moments? Right. Because no one might want a myth jump meant to be all about the actual myths to go the way of King Arthur, where all anyone ever does is go to Fate or Dresden Files to get stuff from those versions of the myths.

Generic Greek did it best, focusing on actual greek myths and just letting you become a sort of part of the same sort of myths in other settings, not actually going there. What you want to do, you might as well name the jump Celtic Fate because that's what it'll end up being.
>>
>>52829649

If you mean that you want to interact with Celtic Myth and such so that you can build up a relationship with the Heroes before Jumping to Fate that's cool, but please don't include the option to go to a specific interpretation of Celtic Myth. It' should be a "Celtic Myth Jump", not a "Celtic Myth featuring the Fate Version Interpretation" Jump.
>>
>>52829739
Well, if they like the original myths, they can go there. If they want Fate, they can go there. Are you just going to go on about BADWRONGFUN until you get your way?

The current series takes place about ten years after the plot kicks off. An chance for a minor time-extension drawback?

Perks: Limits (get a freebie), Awareness (200)

Looks like I'm hunting superhuman murderers for ten years. Just how strong can they...

>or outrace rays of the setting sun.

Uh, what? What's the xianxia level here?

How about you fuck off you salty faggot? Greek mythology jump wasn't any fucking better than the King Author for doing what you want. Nobody besides you actually gives a shit, it won't affect anything in the jump, besides giving people the option to run around in alternate versions of celtic myth, which is just you wanting a more limited version.

Please don't, you'll just be capitulating to aimless bitching.
>>

There's really nothing else to it, really. You'd think the romance would be the focus, but it's really not. All the characters are just forced into some fetish-based plot and that's the main drive.

Yes, since stuff like that hypothetical 0 cp drawback for a jump I was thinking of making can be put in the realm of house rules. There's not need to put a 0cp drawback there and I like the setting anyway.

People want a jump about a mythology to not just spawn endless fate discussion? How many times have you heard the King Arthur jump get talked about for the actual set of legends about King Arthur? > Halloween mod Earthbound when?
> That would be pretty short, though. Maybe a gauntlet?
Effectively a world where the four chosen did not return from defeating Giygas, because they'd been shunted off into an alternate universe. But otherwise all the plot threads from Earthbound have already been resolved.
The only interesting bit is that Andonuts goes completely fucknuts bonkers due to the loss of his son, spiraling into destructive self-hatred with some homoerotic undertones. So he ends up turning Winters into a bloody hellscape, and then some edgy bounty hunter guy comes and kills him.
Even in the bad ending I'm pretty sure Andonuts dies.

The whole plot encompasses maybe a few days time, and is otherwise not particularly distinct from Earthbound other than being a bad end.
So yeah, it'd probably need to be a gauntlet or something, with maybe an optional drawback to stick around for a bit if you really wanted, like Mystic Quest went and did.

>Drop-In capstone should be based off Lugh the Long Armed, something for making you really great in all stats due to his nature as both someone from a foreign land and as an overall ace
>Also, for Drop-In, might want to consider something for being very mysterious and out of nowhere
>Demon/monster background, with a capstone based off of Balor's evil eye
>Warrior background should have something related to the Morrigan, due to her nature as a goddess of war. Perhaps an affinity with crows/ghosts, or an ability to replicate her horrific war cry?
>Also, Demigod background, might want to include tactics as well as the ability to replicate Cu's geas thing. Also might want to have something for challenging people to duels, something he used to hold off an army by challenging the invading queen's champions

>>
>>52829910
I don't see it talked about at all, for anything, except occasionally as a recommendation when someone asks for a perk or something. No one talks about Viking Saga or Greek mythology either, except for the same reasons.

Why does it even fucking matter if it has the option to go to an alternate version? Because you don't want people to have the choice at all? You want to force people to go to the 'default' version, when it's a fucking generic anyway? Why? It's not going to affect how the jump itself is made, it can't, because it's still a generic based on the overtures of the original myth. So what's your issue?
>>
>>52829965

SO. It's like a Charles Atlas ad gone horribly, horribly wrong. Or rather, horribly right. Only instead of nerds turning into buff warriors for the purpose of going to the beach, it's people turning into buff warriors for the purpose of maiming people and creating flesh mosaics for some fucked up reason.

Luckily the school also had a giant magical forest on the grounds which was filled with all sorts of interesting magical creatures. Many of which were extremely dangerous. They also named it the "Forbidden Forest" and explicitly told all of the students in an announcement not to enter it. Mostly at this point I'm only surprised that there were exactly zero kids eaten by truck-sized spiders. Because, yeah, there's totally a nest of truck-sized spiders half a mile from a few hundred teenagers.

My interest in the forest and magical beasts in general resulted in me becoming friends with the Groundskeeper, a giant of a man (halfway literally, as I would later find out) with a passion for magical creatures.

There was also a section of the school itself labeled forbidden, which I obviously had to check out. I sent a summon to check late one night and it returned with news of a giant three-headed dog stuffer in a room that seemed like it would be cramped to keep a normal dog in. I had to see this for myself, so I set out under a veil of invisibility to find it. Casting another spell to slip through the door, I stepped into a room just as the summon had described it and came face-to-face with, sure enough, a giant three-headed dog.

I noticed that the dog seemed to be standing over a trap door of some kind and my curiosity got the better of me. I enthralled the monster with mind magic, examining it as closely as I could, and commanded it to step aside. I slipped through the trap door and fell into a cave filled with...some type of any monster, which I decided would also warrant examining. I continued on through a series of things I honestly could not deduce the purpose of; a room filled with flying keys and brooms, a giant cheeseboard complete with giant pieces, and a room with two options setting on a table in the center. Luckily none of the rooms were warded against phasing magic, so I simply slipped through them.

Well it does set a rather stupid precedent where Generics are basically "Fate Redux" jumps rather than Generics, but that's more on the jumper than the jumpmaker.

The Generic Greek jump isn't that great because it tried to take on too much but had too little to show for it. But on the other hand that's why it makes for a good Fate Greek jump, because if the narrative is Fate anyways then the parts which were missed out don't matter that much.

I can see how that could be irritating to people, especially people who don't care for Nasu's take on mythology.

Anons quick! I need advice, who are some good Yu-Gi-Oh Shadow Realm waifus, preferably Levels 1-4?

I choose Silent Paladin and Magician but they are only 1/2 of a tribute. and given that I'm a warrior I need another spellcaster and Warrior or Fairy to even things out.

Who is best girl?

>>52830030
You haven't responded to any argument about why this is insignificant and meaningless. Literally, you could just let other people do whatever, but you chose to bitch until people can only do it your way.

I mean, for real, it's not going to change how the jump is made, it's something entirely dependent on whether people want to fanwank that that's what version they go to, it's not like there's going to be a fucking Fragarach on offer in the items section or something equally stupid.

So, your only horse in this race is that you don't want people to go to fate Ireland, or any other version of Ireland besides the very specific version mythical Ireland that you have determined to be the correct version. Which is stupid, it's a fucking generic.
>>
>>52830186

Generic Greek can't be Generic Fate Greek though. It was specifically prevented from being about stuff other then Greek Myth, because that's what its' about.

You're running off of when you read it as a child, as you and I both noted.

If you want to drop it, then drop it. I'm not making you reply to me just because I respond to the point you make while also requesting I stop, which is a poor method to actually end a conversation since it basically induces someone to want to argue the new point.
>>
>>52830198
Except, the person you're siding with in this argument has praised Generic Greek for not allowing you to be involved in alternate interpretations. There's no just thing as a Fate Greek jump.
>>
I remember there was a jump with a 200 CP perk that allowed you to "project" your negative emotions like "killing intent" and such onto other people. It was fairly recent, I believe. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
>>
>>52830249
Also is Level 6 and thus not able to complete the tribute amount, even though she is awesome.
>>
>>52830248
You can say that, it's not going to stop the people that want to use it for Fate from using it for Fate. At worst you shake your head disapprovingly at them and label them as nonexistent just like you do for jumps.
>>
Yu motherfuckers know Greek Myth jump isn't a generic right? It doesn't say Generic Greek Myth. It says Greek Myth.
>>
>>52830263

>>
>>52830268

>>
>>52830252
I didn't mean I read it as a child. I meant like 3 years ago so my memories of it aren't perfect.
You're right that I'm being a dumbass about trying to end this though. My mistake.

>>52830109
The last room contained a simple mirror. When I stared into it, it reflected not simply me staring back at myself as one would expect, but it showed me... walking down a winding and seemingly never-ending path. I couldn't deduce any other reason for this whole ridiculous setup beyond some security for this mirror, so it had to be important somehow. I strongly considered taking it for myself to study it, but ultimately decided against it. I wasn't going to stoop to stealing valuable artifacts without even knowing if it was worth it.

Later on I found out someone else had apparently attempted to steal the mirror, only to be thwarted by literal meddling kids. I had a good laugh about that thought, even if I doubted the rumor.

The next year, there were several students petrified by some mysterious attacker. And with that, the accusations of being evil spiked once again. I was now being accused of being the "Heir of Slytherin", which made for a fun time. Even some of the professors started throwing nervous glances my way when they thought someone was looking.

After the second student was petrified, I decided it was time to get to the bottom of things. I sent several summons and went out myself, all of us veiled, to lurk around at night and search for the cause of this. We event found a redheaded girl one year below me acting suspicious. She slipped into an abandoned bathroom; I felt a little uncomfortable about following a prepubescent girl into a bathroom, so I went with the slightly less morally questionable option of having a summon do it instead. It quickly rushed back out and informed me that she had opened a secret chamber found in a sink. I had no idea how she did it, so I simply ghosted through the floor.
>>
>>52830275
So in the complicated tribute part I am a Warrior origin and thus get discounts on Warriors and Fairies. Silent Paladin is a fairy for some reason but silent magician is a spell caster.

So I have 1/2 a tribute that I can only use on Warrior discounted companions (of which Spellcasters are not a part of) and a 1/2 that I can use however I want.

So I can't use it on a Level 6 like Dark Magician Girl.

I already spent the given tribute tokens on someone else.
>>
>>52830256
I'm not siding with him? That's just my interpretation on it. There just aren't many generics that I would consider really "good".

I would have rather had a jump for Homer's Epic Cycle or Hesiod. But we got what we got and people were fine with it, so whatever.

Wait, did you buy extra tributes? You said you spent the tokens you were given in the beginning on someone else, so I can only assume you bought more, right? Those tributes that you bought can be spent on anything, just because you used one to buy a discounted option doesn't mean that the other half can't be spent on other non-warrior companions.

I'm sorry if I'm coming off as unhelpful, but I'm just a little confused. In any case, what are you actually looking for? Another waifu, a comrade in arms? Depending on what you're looking for, there's a lot of different options available.

I caught up with her and followed her through tunnels to a large cavern. She stepped into the scented of, faced a large statue, and began to...hiss? At which point an entirely too large snake crawled out of the statue. Having seen enough of this to know it was going nowhere good, I intervened. Casting enchantments upon both of them to enthral their minds, I felt something strange. There was something possesing the girl! The mental presence lashed out against me, but it was a futile thing that couldn't overcome the enchantment I hsd placed upon her.

After some investigation, I discovered the source of the possession was a small journal she carried with her, which I took and felt the presence vanish from her mind, but felt it attempting to touch my own through the book.

I then turned to the 80 foot long snake. I felt somewhat bad because I could tell it only attacked the students due to a command from the spirit, but I couldn't leave a giant snake in the school's sewers, so I called up a spell to burn the great serpent to ash, then commanded the girl to return to her dorm.

The rest of the year passed without incident and I, though using magic to force it to divulge information, discovered that the journal was actually some sort of phylactery for the sorcerer everyone feared. After learning everything I could from it, I called upon the mana of a swamp and shattered the piece of soul in the book. Due to what I learned, I felt relatively certain that the Wizard had other such artifacts hidden about as well. But apparently he was fairly incompetent about it since he was not back yet.

The next year the school was overrun by disgusting wraiths meant to "protect" the school from a magical Nazi that had escaped what I eventually learned was a prison guards by the things. Never mind the fact that several students had their souls eaten by them.

I took to destroying them at night in secret and studying their essence.

The discount option in the jump is
>if you’re using the Tribute to purchase a monster that matches your
origin(as shown above), you can buy the Tributes for said Companion
at a discount, but all Companions purchased with that “discounted”
Tribute have to be of a matching Monster-Type.

>discounted Tributes have to be of a matching Monster-Type.

So any discounted tributes have to all have the same monster type and as I used it on a Fairy the other 1/2 can only be used on another fairy

I bought 2 more tributes one for the spellcaster (Which was not discounted) and another for the Fairy (Which was). I also now realize that the other 1/2 tribute for the discount actually can only be a fairy and thus my options are now even more limited.

Since my options are now limited now I'm looking for a Fairy comrade in arms. Do you have any ideas?

Yo, what the fuck is up with all these stipulations for Crimson Saint in the Maoyuu jump? It's just a tech-to-magic/magic-to-tech conversion perk, why are there so many stringent limitations?

A couple of them are even repeated, and the complexity limitation makes it actually useless, since any time you want to convert something over, it will always take at least as long as it would be to make the original thing.

Meaning, on top of the equivalency limitations, there's never any reason to convert anything over rather than just sticking with what you have and doing things normally. I don't understand the point of this perk.

Why the fuck is this a capstone? This is the weakest perk in the entire jump, literally unusable. It doesn't have even a single practical use.

>>
>>52830547
Well, for example, if you wanted to be convert magic into tech, it's not that bad, since most magic is flexible enough that it can produce most effects that normal technology could and more easier than technology.

Technology to magic is garbage though, since it means anything even moderately complex isn't ever going to be really practical to use. Spells aren't going to last as long as technology either, but you can cast them on a moment's notice.
>>
>>52830547
It's practical use isn't really in you using it, though the alternate power source could be useful.
It's in giving it to others. It let's you give abilities to those who would normally never be able to have them. So if you want to help your companions keep up, or pick up an army somewhere, it could be a very good investment.
I think many of the stipulations are dumb too.

-Cucumber Quest(Stalled out to let the plot play out to a reasonable place) - Difficulty: Medium

-Gold Digger(this may have to be split up into more jumps, it's a dense setting and only gets denser. I got 30 issues in and I felt my head spinning trying to figure out where I'd even START) - Difficulty: Digger Must Die

-Pretty Cure Happiness Charge(Started but rusty, been a while since I watched, becoming increasingly less appealing to do due to lack of enthusiasm) - Difficulty: Easy

-Code Geass(Origins written out, Perk generation) - Difficulty: Hard

The next year the school hosted some type of international magical Olympics for teenagers? Whatever it was, it was fairly entertaining I suppose. But the real treat was that they had brought in dragons ans kept them penned in secret. I snuck out several nights to study them.

Due to some mixup, two students were chosen to compete in the Tournament for Hogwarts – one of which was under age. The other schools were understandably pissed off and I have no idea why it was allowed to continue that way, but I didn't think too much of it, mostly because trying to hard to understand these wizards usually caused physical pain.

Besides the dragons, the tournament also brought my attention to the lake, which housed a lot of interesting creatures such as merfolk, water horses, and a GOD DAMNED GIANT SQUID. I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. I really was.

The final part of the tournament was interrupted, with Harry Potter, the secondary underage Hogwarts competitor, was teleported away upon grabbing the trophy that would signal his victory. He eventually returned in the same manner, gibbering about "Voldemort", otherwise known as the sorcerer from before, having returned. I sighed, knowing I was going to have to deal with this shit.

Unsurprisingly, I did. The sorcerer eventually showed traces of his existence, at which point I tracked him down. His mind was somewhat harder to enchantment than the others, but he eventually fell. Just like I suspected, he had other phylacteries. I tore the information from his mind and set out to turn them.

After dealing with them, I turned my attention to finally getting around to exploring this world. I opted out of finishing my time at Hogwarts after finishing my OWLs, deciding I had had enough of that, and took trips to other countries, funding bizzarre beasts and adventure where I could.

All in all, it was a fairly interesting decade.

The real problem is the fact that, the way it's worded, you always have to take just as long to cast a spell as you would to build the technology that you want to convert over, the spell will never be able to do anything the original technology couldn't, and you have to be able to build the technology in the first place, meaning that you have no reason not to just build the technology instead.

You have no reason to ever convert technology into magic with this perk.

Yes, which is literally the same thing that shitposters say all the time about nonexistent jumps. Hence why it's shitposting to begin with.

To be honest I get the feeling that the only part of Celtic Mythology that's going to show up in the Generic Celtic Mythos jump is going to be the Ulster Cycle. I mean, no offence to jumpmaker, but she isn't well known for in depth jumps.

I forgot the first half of this post!
Alright, so the secret to helping an Omnic adjust to a human body and memories of reincarnation is gratuitous application of encouragement, the Shia LaBeouf speech, and several bonks on the head. Either that or his bird. Whatever, he's fine now. See? He's giving us a thumbs up right now. It's kind of unsettling he still prefers to make loud whistling noises as opposed to actual speech, but, whatever. We can roll with it.

Where was I…?

Anyways, after Creation, I just kind of want to go on a normal adventure. Just wander the world some more. And what do you know, I happen to be marked as a criminal, so it's a perfect excuse to steal a ship and be pirates! We'll sail the seven seas! Overcome the bloodshed and wickedness of the world! Carve a legend!

>"…Anon, are you okay? You're not usually this…talkative. Ever."

"I'm…I'm fine, Lucas. Let's just find someone with problems to solve."

"No shortage, there…this place looks and feels like a wasteland, even on the water."

"…yeah."

Real-talk here. Being a complete underdog is a situation I'm used to. My resources are for my own survival or comfort. I never had any illusions about changing worlds for the better, just exploring and living in them, and doing good in small ways. Not because I felt obligated to, but because it felt productive. And now, after Creation, I keep thinking back. Back to the World of Kenshin, and those left behind after it. Back to Creation, and me being utterly broken just as an example to someone's ego. And my enemies, who are persistent and insane, as silly as they are dangerous.

Is this depression? Are my regrets catching up to me?

Or is something missing…?
>>
>>52830907
No, I'm saying that as jumps, those jumps are really badly made, or will be really badly made. Abrahamic lore being inherently boring without Gnostic/Heretical stuff, or the meta context of the religion's real history.

I mean, I don't know what you expect with a "Generic Mythology" jump. I mean, these are generally ancient belief systems developed over many centuries. There's a lot of depth that isn't/can't be explored. Like, the same logic that's used to justify multiple Fate/Exalted/Whatever jumps could easily be applied to Greek Myth. The Odyssey, for example, could easily have its own jump, along with dozens of other stories.
>>
>>52830930
Sounds like you need a nice, happy, calm jump. Perhaps something like Dinotopia?
>>
>>52830945
>those jumps are really badly made, or will be really badly made
Compared to most of the jumps on the drive? No, not really.
>>
>>52830945
Well to be fair to the jumpmakers, if you're a mythology geek, you're part of a group that is almost impossibly hard to satisfy. Typically mythology is something that you'd want the original material to research off of, and with families like the Celtic mythos or the Greek mythos you're looking at hundreds of sources to parse through. It's a herculean undertaking for something that might just end up getting ignored or rejected because of its length.

Even if you take Dante's Inferno for instance, you'd ideally have read at least the Divine Comedy, if not Paradiso and Purgatorio. And those are considered easy to read in comparison to something like Canterbury Tales or Paradise Lost (for English Lit or Christian mythology)

Just have to bite the bullet with things sometimes.
>>
>>52827952
Technically working on Guild Wars 2, though with senior year of college, I just don't have the time to work on it much. I did have an idea for another jump after it, but I'm not gonna claim anything til the first gets done.
>>
>>52830945
Get the fuck out of here. They're okay at worst, compared to the average quality of jumps on the drive. Plus I don't think there is a Norse Myth jump. Just Viking Saga or whatever.
>>
>>52830961
>The Odyssey, for example, could easily have its own jump, along with dozens of other stories.
I already said that? >>52830338. The Epic Cycle already includes the Iliad and the Odyssey.
>>
>>52830994
Like others have already brought up, the Nibelungleid and the Ulster Cycle can both easily be turned into jumps. Don't we have a Norse Ragnarok jump?
>>
>>52830945
Which would be more believeable if you offered advice that wasn't "waaah these things are terrible, you're all terrible". Do I find it odd the Viking Saga jump makes you a peer of Loki's apocalypse-causing children for 200 CP? Sure. Am I confused why the forging perk in Greek Mythology has to do with microcosms instead of, say, the skill of the cyclops that assisted the Olympians during the Titanomachy? Definitely. Could all of them be worse? Absolutely. If anything I'm surprised the one you're taking issue with isn't King Arthur what if its' holy dragon summoning and round table power boosting and Excaliblast referencing and whatnot.
>>
>>52831008
We don't, no. You may be confusing the Viking Saga's worst drawback(s), which in hindsight are sort of like a pseudo-scenario.
>>
>>52830994
>Implying Viking Saga isn't the Norse Myth jump
>Implying Greek Myth or King Arthur are actually decent jumps compared to most of what we have on the drive

I think all of those jumps are garbage compared to the average quality of the drive. For real, the read like they were written on a phone, and had no proofreading to speak of, or updates for that matter. Most first drafts of jumps are better written then those are.

I haven't come out defending any of these jumps at any point, all I've said is that they're all bad, and that I don't think any of them are better than the others, just that Viking Saga is the worst. Seriously, how fucking hard is it to just write it in proper fucking english?
>>
>>52830945
>as jumps, those jumps are really badly made, or will be really badly made.
No, as jumps, they're not really badly made from a mechanical or writing perspective. As faithful representations to the setting? You might have more of a point. But unfortunately, that's true of almost all jumps, and it seems like you're holding these jumps to a higher standard. I dunno, man. This is jumpchain, where you either spend ten years walking all over settings, doing your own thing, or being subjected to edgy suffering because you wanted to add more power to your shopping cart. What exactly were you expecting?
>>
>>52831057
Is that your only issue? That it's badly written and formatted? Would you have no problems with it if everything were spelled correctly and everything was grammatically correct?
>>
>>52831057
I'll say it again: Considering the source material's ambiguity and inconsistency, for all their faults I'd be hardpressed to imagine how it could be done better (barring the spelling errors and grammer, not defending that).

And when you say things like "it's based on the shittiest mythology", I still think they're a godsend (no pun intended) compared to anything you could cook up.
>>
>>52831057
>Seriously, how fucking hard is it to just write it in proper fucking english?
Hard. Especially when most people here probably aren't very good at writing to begin with, even if they think otherwise.

>>52831018
Oh. I guess I just saw the drawback so much that it was the first thing that came to mind. I'm almost kind of amused, thinking about it, why people ended up lumping Norse and Gaelic mythology together.
>>
>>52831080
Yes. Literally, the only fucking standard I have for jumps and their writing is that it looks fucking clean and isn't a trap/powergrab. It being accurate to the setting is also important, but I'd rather it have stuff missing or OC stuff included than it be imbalanced or lacking in content.

>>52831090
>And when you say things like "it's based on the shittiest mythology", I still think they're a godsend (no pun intended) compared to anything you could cook up.
The only reason I don't make jumps is because I'm incredibly slow at typing things up, so I don't have the time for it. I barely have enough time to make builds, it takes me several hours to make one build for one jump, sometimes days.
>>
>>52831133
>it takes me several hours to make one build for one jump, sometimes days.

>>
>>52829111
>>52829913
But, a gauntlet would mean I would not a soundtrack perk, and thus further away from my dream of getting all versions of Megalovania!

I would still jump it.
>>
>>52831142
Choice Paralysis is most likely the reason. Some folk don't deal with it well.
>>
>>52831142
To be fair, I've been giving him shit for most of this conversation but I do too sometimes. Sometimes there's just too much shiny stuff to make a choice early on. Sometimes I just get distracted by vidya. Sometimes I can't think of anything compelling to write, and obliged to write something compelling.
>>
>>52831159
Wouldn't a soundtrack perk still be offered, though, it's just that you have to take drawbacks to pay for it?
>>
>>52831142
Some long jumps take me several days to build for. I've spent up to two weeks on a jump before. So it's not like it's impossible
>>
>>52831142
Not him, but builds also generally take me a long while. I'll leave them open and come back to them for a few (fractions of) minutes at a time. Some of it is because I can only withstand some jumpmakers' styles in short doses it took me forever to build for Classic Sonic, I can't stand the tone holy shit, or because I find other activities more satisfying.
>>
>>52831160
>>52831161
No, it's literally just typing stuff up that takes up the most time. I don't understand how other people can do it so fast. Like, jumps on the drive, copy pasting text doesn't work, so you have to type the entire jump up from scratch every time you want to make a build. If you don't type out the whole perk text for everything you want, you'll end up forgetting what you actually got from each jump, which bloats the amount of text you have to copy over manually. Add in Companions to that, and it takes a couple hours.
>>
>>52831169
Anon, do you know how many people bitch about how gauntlets even exist? Now multiply that by 2, cause then you'll have people whining about how something as "measly" as a soundtrack perk is being offered, and how they'll have to budget limited CP for it, and bla bla bla.
>>
>>52831202
You can copy and paste if you open it in a new tab, though. It might take a few tries, but you CAN highlight them. Just go to any jump, go to the upper right corner, open the little menu, and then click 'Open in New Tab', and check yourself if you don't believe me.
>>
>>52831202
Ctrl+C still works in pdfs on a drive. You can copypaste so long as you can highlight the text. I assume most people just write down perk names and a cliffnote description when they go fast though.
>>
>>52831202
You can download the jumps you know? Just open them in another program to copy paste stuff, it's what I do.

The whole concept of "let's create a murder cult to get stronger" is dumb and a complete antithesis to everything I stand for, so I'm gonna send this plot veering off on a tangent.
It's too much effort, and not very effective, if I just go around bumping off followers of the Hercules Method myself, so I'm just gonna build robots to do it.

Except, I feel like, you're not really taking the journey here, so let me explain that normally I kindof half-ass my robot armies. Y'know, churn out a couple hundred thousand Jackbots, Egg Pawns, that kinda thing, and then send them off to die in waves. It's part of the cartoon villainy angle.
Except these guys would probably just think that was a fun afternoon, so instead I'm going to build high-grade Assassin Bots and send those off instead. Probably some fancy AI and all that so they can track people down without me having to micromanage everything. Maybe do research on the side.

And then this'll probably segue into some plot about a shadowy scientist looking to stamp out the one true religion or however the fuck they'll spin it. I dunno.
Still a better love story than Twilight.

Perks and such is generally copy and paste, so that part is fast. I type at about 90 - 120 WPM which is pretty slow nowadays, it's the write ups that can get tediously long.

In the deepest matters of the Bazaar, always look to love.

And so, love is what I wrote about, both plays and books. Grand romances, comedy, tragedy, history, pornography, and even a bit of copyright infringement when I was feeling lazy. The copyrights didn't technically exist yet, but I still caught shit for it from some demons. My work was about 50% safe and the other half was... controversial. Sometimes it expressed pro-Revolutionary views, like in the one where a pirate steals a noblewoman and they find love at zee. Sometimes it was simply too direct in it's descriptions. Did some time in New Newgate and the Colonies for it.

Writing is quite notorious for not paying for candle addictions until it does, and that held true here. What to do but fall back on old habits and play the con man? Help in setting up heists, casing noble houses by "hoping to gain patronage", or seducing the servants into giving up the keys with their knickers. Throwing in a bit of ruffianism and catburgling and I was well on my way up the criminal ladder when I actually a benefactor for my works. I couldn't drop either, so it became a balancing act.

I decided to do a play about star-crossed lovers of different stations, and how they had to hide their love away from the world. One a criminal, the other, a ruler, and both in love with their own words. It even had a happy ending, mostly thanks to Hamtaro's Hamham capstone. I'm coming straight back post-spark.
>>
>>52831349
Not all sparks let you go to fucking DBZ. Ever notice that Nicol Bolas never shows up there you dense motherfucker? That's because neither oldwalker nor newalker sparks can do that shit. Jc sparks can.

On top of that, Quicksilver did emphasize that the jc spark would make you way buffer no matter how strong you are. If you're going to tell me that a Outer God level being would get juiced from an MTG spark, I'm going to laugh at you.

Well, that's not inaccurate. Lessee-most of the stories individually cost somewhere between 45-80 Fate (i.e. 10-20 dollars per story, Fate's the online currency) to play. You have a set amount of actions you can take to do stuff in the game, and it's 2.5 dollars to refil 20 of them. The 2 most expensive/expansive/ambitiously set up stories cost 25 dollars' worth of Fate to play each. 20 is the max amount for players not on a monthly subscription which also gives them automatic access to the stories.

I feel the Praetor's ability could be a bit of inspiration, boosting mana or impeding enemies mana gaining efforts.

Aside from that it's where you could put a trample effect, a perk that lets you push past enemies or something.

Take one of the anti-flying cards like Corrosive Gale, or look to the rest of the set with Blightwidow, or Pistus strike and make a perk around that.

That raises the question, is this just new Phyrexia, or are you arriving before they mostly take over?

Could do something like a 'lord of the tangle' where you're good at hiding, surviving, ambushing and tracking through hostile environments.

Some kind of 'infect' effect could be cool.

Rapid evolution, based on Mutagenic Growth, where you rapidly evolve short-lived resistances to specific threats - like if you get hit by a fireball, you rapidly grow a fire-resistant carapace that flakes away once the immediate threat has gone.

The ways of angels are beyond comprehension. Distant from humanity, they carry out an inscrutable purpose bestowed by divine will without rhyme or reason. To witness them is to risk incineration. Hamsters live in a placid hamsterwheel of ignorance in the midst of sunflower farms of infinity, and it was not meant that they should journey far.

But the grumbling about underevolved apes/rodents and carrying around of Cosmo magazines does ruin the mystique a little.

Later that week, eldritch clockwork hamsters started showing up in households, holding up little signs to say last night's light show was NOT the test-fire of a love nuke.

Oh. A murder cult. Apotheosis by memedom, go figure. Dude, dad's not gonna like you creating a world of STR.

Yes, it is I-your brother from an alternate universe. Don't make me come over there and found a rival cult of adorable heroines. Technically being bombarded by friendship lasers isn't a form of violence.

...you know what, I need to do that anyway. For science. In fact, I just swapped your ultimate disciple's copy of your not-Dynamic Tension with an invitation to become a magical girl hero of love! See you both in a few years, broski.

Y'know, the irony is that after immense study into the true nature of whacky Trigger anime physics-this shit just leaves me jaded and bored in the extreme. Give me a deterministic universe any day of the week. Of course the girl's mom is an incredibly powerful space pirate. Of course the police chief's final form sorta looks like the Anti-Spiral. And of course most of her classmates are huge assholes.

It's not like I dislike it as much as I WOULD have back in the day but-it's all so pointless. I haven't felt this alone in a crowd for aeons, I just want to stand up and shout: This is stupid. You're all stupid.

My fetich feels weirdly engorged. I'm gonna leave town to see if Ryuko and/or Satsuki became immortal at some point.

...

...two days after I left town, I passed a big statue of a tall man with a katana, a short kid with goggles and a drill-spear. And myself, holding a simple core drill. "Our Founders", it was called. We're all trying posing like badasses and looking like dumbasses; hah, I remember that day, Kamina kept fucking with the sculptor by telling him to wait until he finished summoning the volcano. Simon wanted to leave early because he was going steady with Nia and didn't want to mess things up. And I, well, I was just going with the flow because I wasn't myself and didn't have any responsib-

...

I'm not here to think about the path not taken.

I'm NOT thinking about what could've been if I'd stayed. I'm just. Going to go a different direction now.

But. I WILL say: The Triggerverse used to be better back in the old days, dammit. When we fought, it was over things that MATTERED. Damned whippersnappers.

Sometimes, drawbacks cause strange things to happen. Stranger than you'd think at first glance.
For instance, I pride myself on knowledge. I may not be the strongest, or fastest, even the quickest wit, but I sure know a lot of shit. Mostly because of my rampant thievery of books, data, schematics, and memories.
But then, you take a drawback that says, "Your worldview is crammed down to a hamster's," and it turns out that hamsters are dumb. Like little kids are dumb.

Which leads to shit like this:
> "Do you ever wonder what the stars are made of?"
> "Oh! I know this one! They're like... lanterns! Like lanterns in the sky! And just like lanterns, humans use them to guide their way in the dark, like across rivers and streams and stuff! And sometimes they fall to the ground, and if you see one, you can make a wish, and it'll come true!"
> "Wow, Konata! You're so smart!"
And then we went on an adventure to find fallen lanterns.

...
My whole jump was filled with stuff like that.

And also sunflowers.

What's a good perk to absorb and assimilate technology into myself so I can use it? I don't like Savage Salvage because it's basically OC, the Worm power is pretty damn great but I have already decided that I need another, and Machina Soul from Fairy Tail requires the user to summon different outfites to actually use the technology, so that's not really what I'm looking for. Any alternatives?

If you don't mind operating yourself (either using self-biokinesis or a similar kind of power), Hive Queen Quest has some pretty good options.
>>
This is why you shouldn't let OA make jumps.

Unnecessary arguments get started because of his dumb bullshit.
>>
>>52832993
It certainly has some neat stuff, but I'm not really a fan of applying stuff like that manually to myself. I'd prefer if "it just works" by the power of perks.

Oh my god you're a hive mind! How did you manage that in this depowered jump we're all stuck in? How'd you manage to sneak a duplication perk past the benefactor?
>>
>>52833190
This certainly does seem neat, if a tad unpredictable on its own. But you'd be able to circumvent the size limit of Technovore with it, and it doesn't mention needing to power the technology with your own reserves. Although it's probably implied.

>>52833222
I'll probably pass on that one. I'd rather not turn into a virus, and "disturbing bio-tech" seems like something I wouldn't really like, if only visually. Thanks for the suggestion though.

>>52833264
Maybe try a mix of things? A few perks like Technovore, maybe the in-built Metroid power-armor with the thing that lets you easily add tech to it, could add some of the other things people have suggested, and maybe stuff from something like that nanobot jump Karma-something is from. Karmatron dynamics?

Also, a custom NP could likely let you do it, as could a stand or other such create-a-power options. A few magic systems could do things like that too, such as using a magic system mixing perk on Mage the Awakening magic, which if I remember correctly has a legacy based around something like that, so with Matter and Life at around 4 or 5 you could almost certainly figure out how to do it on the fly. Just use the spell from another magic system to get around Mages downsides.
>>
>>52833272
I mentioned Savage Salvage in my original post, and that I don't like it because it has nothing to do with the setting. Thanks for Fusion Boomer though, but it doesn't really fit me, 'cause I don't want to become "techno-organic cancerous blob". Besides, it apparently works purely through nanotechnology, so it's something I could put together anyway with all those "are are smart now" perks.

>>52833278
That's also a good idea, but it comes back to what I said above. I'm looking for perks that allow assimilation that bypasses common sense, so to speak, and not one that works through "mundane" hyper-advanced technology that we see in Blame. I wanna stay human, after all.
>>
>>52830427
I know I'm a bit late responding to this, but I want to say that I don't like The Herculean Form texts costing the same for everyone. It seems to me that the varying plateaus are supposed to be justification for the different origin prices, but buying the texts makes the whole thing moot and gives everyone the same limit. However, the other origins still need to pay their origin costs.

I want to suggest that you need to pay 300 CP minus your origin costs. Like, Drop-ins pay the full 300, but Binders only need to pay 200 because they already spent 100 on their origin, and Students and Peacekeepers only need to pay a 100.
>>
>>52830344
>Urusei Yatsura
Thank you, Nikamoth. Looking forward to that.

I've heard that it's quite funny, but didn't have a good reason to read it until now. Thanks for the prompt.
>>
>>52833316
Oh yeah, Karmatronics and the other stuff in that jump is a must for every jumper wanting to improve their body. Although it's evolution rather than assimilation. As for the second part of your post, using stands/NPs for stuff like that always seems kinda weird. That's why I like to use perks that explicitly allow for that stuff. And I generally like to seperate my magical powers and the technological ones. Good suggestions though.
>>
>>52833339
I was thinking of Karmatronics to help smooth out any issues.

If you're okay with it you could make the spell then use something like Digitized Sorcery from Fate/Extra to make a machine out of it. Hell, Hive Queen Quest could then make that biological if you wanted. A biological ability to absorb tech. Actually that sounds pretty neat.
>>
>>52833353
Oh, that does sound neat. Might actually do that and combine it with Technovore and that perk from FLCL, then I should have something pretty good to work with. It might still lag behind Assimilation and Savage Salvage, but it's a good approximation.
>>
>>52833282
Oh also eclipse phase.

>>I wanna stay human, after all

okay this is going to be tough most of that stuff does that will require to at least be a cyborg
>>
>>52830809
Relaying so heavily on us when you could go to one of several places is lazy and an imposition on us.
It's one thing to ask whether a combo is kosher or if a particular interpretation of a perk makes sense. You can't really go anywhere else for that. But asking for general information about a game that there should be plenty of information about elsewhere; yeah, that's only going to fly unless you happened to find someone in a really good mood or is really enthusiastic about the game. You haven't been lucky to find such a person despite repeated attempts, so it's safe to say that there isn't such a person here.
As such, yeah, it would be shitposting to ask again, or even the third, fourth or fifth time you asked. Me personally, I find your initally asking and follow-up to be fine, I mean we all takes chances sometimes and make little impositions and hope we can get away with them, nothing really wrong with that, unless you go to far.
There is multiple sources you can go to to get the answer to your question, let's play vidoe on youtube, games review sites, wikipedia, the games own wiki, and so on.
What good reason do you have given all that do you have to pester people here for an answer to a question you could easily answer yourself with a little bit of effort, besides laziness?
>>
>>52831353
Mt:tg's cosmology that is actually explored is a tiny tiny tiny part of an infinity large cosmos planeswalkes have open to them. They only travel so far from other known planes to make sure they don't get lost or go to an inherantly harmful plane.
You can easily reconcile things here, there's no need to see incompatability where there is none.
With a spark, you have infinity open to you, as much as any planeswwalker, but you also have lots of navigational reference poitns they don't have thanks to each adn veery jump, and are able to be bolder than them due to your massively accumulated personal power.

Marvel's cosmology also assumes that their omniverse encompass everything that there is. Including our world and any other world of fiction, even the ones that aren't Marvel's.
>>
>>52833428
No one really know. Feel free to fanwank, but responsibly.

if you go by Dumbeldore's theory that the three were just made by some clever guys, despite how 2 of the three died by being so very stupid, then probably nothing. Maybe a small passive boost when used, but since they would have been made to be used seperately, it's more likely for there to be no special benefit.

If you go by the mythology surrounding them, then, sorry, but you'll need to fanwank.
>>
>>52830102
IMO, Kryptonian's powers are more telekinetic based so probably wouldn't increased their sun based strength itself all that much outside of >>52830166's thinking.
>>
>>52833484
Marvel is'nt Mt:g.
You are comparing apples and oranges here mate, and in effect, your comparison is meaningless.
Care to try again?
>>
>>52833568
Are you shitposting or just that stupid? If your idea of things being able to fit with MtG is true, stuff like Marvel has to have it's canon changed to reconcile with Mtg. No matter how you try to paint it, to have MtG be the setting above all settings, you have to change how a lot of other settings work to have that make any sense.
>>
>>52833590
Not really. They can both have all encompassing but different cosmologies. Thats called fiction.
>>
>>52833628
Marvel's omniverse has been destroyed and reformed multiple times in the last decade. How can you reconcilie that with the M:tG multiverse? I know you're just baiting at this point, but I would like to hear your explanation.
>>
>>52830091

>>52829948
>inb4 NON NOBUS DOMINE DEUS VULT
>>
>>52833648
Im not even the guy you were originally talking to. I was just interjecting that in fiction, in two different settings, you can have all encompassing multiverses that have completely different stuff because they are fiction. They dont have to matter or take each other into account. Thats how fiction works.
>>
>>52829674
Another reason it probably wouldn't work is because there isn't really a single Celtic mythical canon. Different groups of Celts all believed different things and we have a lot less information than with the myths of various other peoples.
