>Unless you're saying that Sanguinias is more handsome than the Emperor?

Yes.
Lorgar and the Word Bearers never enter into the discussion when the looks are talked about.
The Emperor doesn't even have a set face.

Guy is the same as this guy, but unpainted. I want to know if its ok If I used this model for a lascannon heavy weapon team? If no is there a way i could make it legal?

The power of Nurgle (Decay and Rebirth) are hard counter to the Death Magic of Ynnead. Ynnari lose their power before the might of Nurgle.

They are not mary sues, so.
>>
>>52820212
A bit cheesy with the two Dreadknights but GK tend to suffer usually in lower point games, I think he was just trying to make up for it. Anyhow better than the time my friend brought two riptides, a stormsurge, and a ghostkeel to a 1850 point game.
>>
>>52821076
Don't you mean Decay and eternal lingering on the edge?

Hardest counter to Death magic is immortality, souls trapped and suffering eternally denied afterlife and rebith.
>>
>>52821076
Yet they still assraped them like the infallible Mary Sues they are. Their 'kryptonite' is only used to hype the fight and make it seem spooky and dangerous, but it always ends up being completely irrelevant.

>Here was no death. Though, the nature of the place they entered was founded on endings and the determination of hope.
>Chaos was eternal, and as much as it is self devouring and self defeating, it is also a font of endless power constantly regurgitating itself
>This cycle of life was writ real in the dismal garden where decay and birth went hand in hand.
>Fungus and maggot, bacteria and scavenger all thrived of the detritus of the previously living. And it was this circular force that robbed Ynnead of his power

Why are the Space Marines considered worth the price at all? They're too few to fight straight up wars and any Imperial Navy ship with some Scions and a teleporter can pull off their "Intimidating decapitation strikes". You don't need power armour, a portable RPG and genemods to teleport into someone's office and shoot them, or just level the place from orbit, and you can get a LOT of Russes for the price of a Chapter.

Only two issues I see:
The clip release button's grooves are very uneven.
The surface/paint on the ejection port is uneven.
>>
>>52821353
Well answer is: It varies.

Some sens them ahead as diversion, some scorn weaklings, some summon daemons, some seed the targets with cults ahead of time and yes some bring them like levies.
>>
>>52821326
I dunno if you've considered it, but try aluminium tape and wrapping the metallic parts in it. Then spray that with your preferred primer and buff it back with steel wool. Does an absolute beauty of a job in my opinion.
>>
>>52821413
Good. I mean there's no way they could defeat the Imperial Guard on their own, they need an army to go toe to toe with them (or at least keep them busy) while they destroy key targets and murder the command structure.

(what's your "standard list"? Pic related is what I brought)

I'd have been more okay with the Dreadknights if they hadn't been kitted up to the eyeballs. Personal Teleporters mean he shunted them 30" across the board first turn and just started mowing shit down with the flamer and heavy psycannon. Terminators and Voldus arrived Turn 1 so I didn't even get any breathing room to put some hurt into the dreadknights. Voldus started vomiting powers and easily maintained a 4++ on everything for the entire game.

I managed to kill 4 Terminators with plasma fire, shaved another off the unit with Tank Shock. Dreadnought managed to bring one of the knights down to 1 Wound before it was hull pointed to death.
Voldus just straight-up murdered fucking everything with Cleansing flame, asshole never rolled less than a 9 for 2D6 hits.

When I first met him he was fighting an Eldar with bikes and a wraith knight. Nope, they're technically a separate nation and under no obligation to give him the time of day. Which makes me mad that Cawl spent the entire series crawling around licking Celestine and Guilliman's boots instead of telling them to fuck off, commanding armies with the Mechanicus' trademark precision and introducing Traitor Land Raiders to the Solar Atomiser.

>>52822589

True, but would it have killed them to make that Navy a Machanicus fleet or tack in a Metallica priest or something?
Also, the Mechanicus is one of the strongest military forces the Imperium has, and even more so now they're going up a notch on the bullshit-o-meter and opening relic vault 2.755x10^28. Mars is like 30% relic at this point, and they've barely scratched the surface with the Skitarii and Cult Mech books.

>>52822622

I mean, normally they don't and just show them where to stick it while cruising around being awesome metal pimps, but since the new books are apparently forming the great 40k Avengers where the Iron Man jobs as usual he had to be nice and lose his flagship before shooting back with any black-hole chrono-cannon he had on board.

The pylons were subverted by weakening Muh Celestine, for some reason more important than invalidating the only thing that make the CSM more than way worse Astartes.

Drop some Seraphims and get Dozer blades. Unless for some reason you are playing on a table with no terrain.

Why Seraphims? Well if you are going to deepstrike with Celestine you are Deepstriking 13 models, that is a rather large footprint and with no servo skulls or mystic to reduce the scatter better reduce the size. 6-8 Seraphim is good enough size without sacrificing power.

Regarding Retribution drop the plasma grab a Veteran. The Ld9 will be more usefull,

Howlers are a preference not mandatory for Dominion. Consider removing them if points are needed

Got a quick rules question. If I have a six man squad and half of them have storm shields does the 3++ get conferred onto the whole squad or nah?

Because like the HH have show us the ADmech isn't centralized and has several factions many of them would take the opportunity of a rebellion from their peers to fuck with them and grab as much power while siding to Terra and many of those are zealously devoted the Emperor and not to Mars, then with those loyal guys the imperium can send it's shitloads of guards to take over the rebel forgeworlds.

>>
>>52823307

>>
>>52823307
Colours themselves burn a lot less now.

Next exercise is focal point, relax your eyes and look again, is there a place where your vision rest comfortably, or does it flicker about between all the blue areas?

You'll want to make the scheme drag the eyes towards the models most detail rich iconic area, usually the face and chest on marines.

Then consider materials, What's hard, what's soft, what intended to be hit, and what recessed to be protected?
Try not to spread a colour over different materials.

And you dont HAVE to make every non-flat areas a different colour than the main armour, consider doing colour zones.

For example: Lower leg zone, backpack zone and so on.

Make it less busy, unless you WANT it to look like a quarter-machine pod toy.

in that instance it's fluffy, because to be honest most Iron Warriors didn't give a shit about chaos, they only used it when it was pragmatic to. Like, I fireblade is gonna be consistently useful in a single squad of fire warriors, and the formation bonus from the SC would also be really good with a fireblade, since you could "redeploy" to find your ranges while still getting your extra shots in for the turn. An ethereal being in the SC actually makes no sense, and pisses me off. Also, why the fuck do I have to give the dumb bastard a completely useless 5 point upgrade?

Build yourself list:

Trukks are nearly a must buy from new.
They're a versatile kit that's pretty shitty to paint if pre-assembled less than perfectly.
Flash gits are also too much fun to get pre-made.
Bikers are also fun to build yourself, as are their fliers.

Battlewaggon is a maybe, it has a lot of nice extra bits and cool options.

I'd say mek Gunz but the kits are just plain too expensive.

The rest is pretty meh.

I'm building up a replacement squad of green beans for my first ever squad, who themselves will be taking a simple green bath in the near-future. It's not that I feel I couldn't keep using them, but I want to WYSIWYG my army and this particular squad calls for shotguns. I could make another squad of veteran shotgunners, but their dedicated transport would need to be repainted with the new insignias and that would be more annoying for less gain.

My greatest fear now is GW removing shotguns from the IG's Armory.

I've had the rules for like a week, scrub. I don't even remember where I got it. Was from some foreign 40k rumor site and not here.
>>
>>52821136
I've already brainstormed this one:
>Orks
Feel no pain is an army-wide thing. Because mushrooms feel no pain. This forces the enemy to use more strength 8 guns to negate even the basic horde's natural saves. The Wyvern in particular would be hella-nerfed with one-third of all casualties being negated without any way to stop it.
>Tyranids are different
Every Horde Army needs it's own way of being a horde. The Guard use platoons: Strictly regimented squads under a chain of command. Not really a blob-based army unless they specifically join squads or buy conscripts. Orks do it the old-fashioned way: They don't take units-within-units; They just take really BIG units of 20 or more boys.
Tyranids now get to have the strangest "Horde" mechanic: They do not guy their hordes. Instead, you buy their monsters: Warriors, Carnifexs, Lictors, Whatever. And each monster (or monsters in the warriors' and other smaller creatures' case) comes with a small squad of ablative wounds in the form of Termagaunts or Hormaguants, your choice. Tyranid Flyers get spore mines, but said mines act as their own units. These guys are free, share the parent creature's biomorphs, and absorb damage. BUT, if the parent creatures like the warriors die to bad placement or precision shot, then all the Gaunts in the unit die from psychic backlash. Finally, psychic backlash no longer effects any other creatures other than gaunts. Some larger monstrous creatures that couldn't conceivably hide behind guants due to size instead give buffs to nearby units. So a Trygon for example might bestow fleet to units within 6".

Saying these things is a lot harder than doing those things. Any GW employee can just say the Space Marines are good at destroying the head of an army, but I doubt they've ever considered the actual logistics of locating, isolating, entrapping, and killing an enemy leader in wartime.

As for the ration thing, this requires that the enemy army (A) Only has access to rations and no alternative food or water, (B) Actually believes someone managed to poison most of the food supply, (C) Hasn't been aware of the whereabouts of these particular ration packs since before the rumors started and not just some of it and (D) Doesn't just get desperate enough to eat the damn ration packs anyways. Just as an example:

>Oh shit, I hear a bunch of guys in C company got poisoned! What if our food is poisoned too?
Hold on a moment. Hey! Company Clerk! How long have our MRE's been sitting in that chimera? 30 Years? Okay, we're good!

Making guard think other guard are traitors could be easy or hard depending on the regiment. Especially if the guard figures it out, which is easy when the guys your shooting at start yelling at you to cut it out instead of fighting back like proper traitors.
>>

Yeah the open beta is going on. I don't really know what it is, I haven't played much yet but initial impressions are not great. they basically sacrificed everything that made DoW fun in the name of esports cancer. Each faction has like 5 total buildings and pretty much only basic units (IE scouts and tactical marines + vehicles). There's no weapon upgrades except for the tactical squad which can switch from 5 bolters to 5 flamers or 5 plasma guns. If you want to run termies, you have to use an elite slot, which means you'll only ever have like 3 terminators at any given time. The units die super fast, especially to shit like the orbital bombardment which just wiped out my entire army in one click on more than one occasion. The elite system as a whole is just fucked. It doesn't feel like dawn of war, it feels like a weird mix of starcraft and dota.

It just depends man. Usually people come into the hobby pick up a single box of troops or the start collecting, and then keep going from there. I would assume most people come in every once-in-a-while for another box of troops, or a tank here or there, and once they've gotten they're army to a cool looking force on the table, they go for a centerpiece. That isn't to say there aren't people who come in and ask the manager or local players "what would really fsu in a tournament" but that just isn't the mentality of most people in the hobby, /tg/ boogymen aside

To be fair, I can see why a lot of people do that. I'm guilty of it myself to an extent. 40k runs on rule of cool, so naturally a lot of people like to play heroes and deathstars. Having a named character in the fluff be next to unbeatable and they think they can kick an entire army's ass with 10 dudes led by a grizzled named character who costs double what the rest do combined. The problem is the tabletop doesn't work that way.

I'm guilty of it and each of my armies has a centerpiece but I'm slowly moving towards having more dudes. There's also the fact that big models and named characters are nicer to paint, have lots more detail and character and there's something really offputting about having to paint a shitload of infantry. Everyone here likes to hate on unpainted shit but let's not kid ourselves, there's a staggering amount of us who have grey or black-primed tides and no drive to get our asses in gear.

Good thing most Eldar characters aren't unbeatable in the fluff. Eldrad tried to warn FULGRIM of all people about the horus heresy, Karandras gets one-shot by a dreadnought in the book he shows up in, jain zar gets killed by a krak grenade, avatars are punching bags, etc.
Not complaining though, Eldrad is awesome.

Definitely go with upgrading the Raider to a crusader. It's basically the best of the Land Raider variants, unless you absolutely need that extra 10 points the Redeemer gives you.

They look more like Renegade Tauroxes but I wouldn't care. But you need to make it clear where the fire point, lasgun arrays, hull mount and multilasor are. Consider buying a chimera and sticking the turret where that top gunner goes, maybe stick a heavy bolter/flamer on the autocannon's position, then the special weapons guys hang out on the railed balcony.

Nah. My troops cost about as much as the "Centerpeice" Leman Russes. Of course they're all in Chimeras so maybe it doesn't count.
