My man! My current chain is actually focused on music related shit. Some good jumps to hit up are as follows:
Musician, Ar Tonelico, Symphogear, Elite Beat Agents, Avenger's Earth's Mightiest Heroes (for that elder elemental audiokinesis), Greek Myth (check out the Great Artist perk tree), and probably a bunch I can't remember at the moment.

George De Sand from G Gundam always seems to try to woo my jumper no matter the chain. Main chain he was successful, in the other two he just gets politely turned down. Speaking of G Gundam in the Writer Chain: Don't let Cu Chulainn near Domon Kasshu because he will challenge Domon to a fistfight over a misunderstanding and it will end badly for bystanders. I had to pay for so much property damage.

If I like them, I usually let one of my avatars to be defeated if I needed to fight them via drawback. Because you don't always need to win every fight you get yourself into.

If I don't like them and there is no drawback, but I still find the world a little boring, I probably can ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL OF THIS MAIN CHARACTER.

The only important thing is that I get away in the end. If that happens, then in the context of the chain, I'm still winning. It's a game. You only lose when you can't play anymore.
Of course, every so often, some hero decides they're going to try to "put an end to my reign of villainy for good!", and then I have to show them why that's a bad idea.
Still let them live, though. Usually.

Got a question for you.

In Harry Potter Jump, do you ever just say: "Okay, Evil!Dumbles may be a dumb fanfic idea, but Voldemort is basically a puzzle boss you already know the answer to," and so you want to shake things up a bit and give your Jumper both a challenge and an unexpected surprise; so you make Dumbledore either Evil, or simply antagonistic to your Jumper in some irreconciliable way.

Do you do something like this to spice things up, or do you just deal with Voldemort using your out-of-setting knowledge and treat the rest like a vacation, albiet with some school work along the way?

You certainly wouldn't expect it and there'd be some potential at the start for you to be at cross-purposes intially without you, or maybe even him, being aware.
Problem with the idea as it has been explored in fanfic, is that it's been poorly executed so many times the idea itself has gotten a bit stale, but there is potential there.
Just a thought, but has anyone ever heard or read a story about Dumbledore being corrupted by the Ring Horcrux rather than the whole Withering Curse?

Nice pic. Also I usually am at a reduced power state, I locked a whole 9/10th's of my power behind a perk known as Limit Mode from Kid Radd which if I'm defeated /then/ I unlock all that I've kept sealed away. Most of the stuff I threw behind the Limit was directly combat related. So I usually act and seem like a Jumper on Jump 15 around 150, though my current Chain is around Jump 95ish right now. It's really funny because I do that so I can feel closer to normal. Also I abuse the heck out of Reincarnate (Disgaea) to keep myself challanged, usually.

Also, I've been trying to fight with reality warpers for a really long time, it's one of my objectives. That and completing projects Chekhov's Gun, Kill Anything Combo, and The Wanderer's Journal.

The Final Fantasy Characters got pot-lucked into all being from one place, Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden. My jumper doesn't fight full on except vs deities or if someone is about to kill one of there kids. Most of the time i'm in the background as the big bad churning out mid level villains and watching as my many proteges do stuff. ot like many above said limiters i tend to sit at around bloodborne level with those on.

If we just account fantasy jumps, you can get those numbers with a fairly small amount of jumps.

Just Overlord has enough skills to cover a great deal of that. Not on the same level, but you can easily leave with a thousand of spells/skills just using the 1000 CP.

Magic is grossly diverse. Like all the stuff in Kamigawa is just local stuff whereas you've got the Walkers who collect entries magic systems like they're... well trading cards really. I'd rank it next to BBS in sheer versatility for the same reasons, we have only see so much of the vastness that is the magic systems. The upper end stuff needs lots of magical energy though. Like to fight with a Planeswalker you need to tap entire lands of Mana to keep slugging it out and most folks don't wanna do that.

It can do some kinda >>52817398 freaky things, though I will not Urza was just taking advantage of what was already a Planar Collapse there.

Some folk seem to think it's slow but it has spells that can be cast retroactively if you're good enough at things. Spells that are insanely fast, and spells that can be used at any instant in which you aren't dead. Now, dragging Mana from Mana bonds takes a bit of set up and resource management is a big part of the magic's upper end. Which is why you have ass-weeps like Bolas just nuking entire sections of land in his more serious fights, granted he likely got the idea form Toshiro's decedent who did just that to him. It is really versitile and has tons of feats throughout the Lore.

My plan was to take on bolas when we are both at our weakest using all my enchanted gear, armor, and weapons monster hunter style. You have no idea how happy getting a chance to fight his lizardy asd makes me.

Well, first of all, I don't fight a lot.
I have people to do that for me.

Some of them are, like, monsterguys, anthropomorphic goats, or robots, but generally I just make quirky minibosses and mooks and stuff and have them do things.
Sometimes I use more advanced magitek and experiments for a full fledged "boss character", but I very rarely make anything that's more than a potential city destroyer on its own.

Secondly, when I do fight, I tend to whiff a lot of my shots on purpose, spout off a lot of dumb lines, and generally play up the cartoon villain angle.
And if people put up enough of a fight to, like, not immediately be rendered comatose or run away, then usually I'm the one who runs away. Because it's part of the shtick. Villains run away a lot.

I'm having fun. This is fun for me.
If it's not fun, then I usually just try to end the fight as quickly as possible, and trying to "make combat relevant" isn't really relevant.

Actually, the Legendary rule got changed. Now it tracks it for each player seperately.

Well, it's not so cut and dry. Elder Dragons were considered comparably dangerous to pre-Mending Planeswalkers even without being one themselves and Bolas' power was greatly diminished after the Mending, not just because of the power loss but because he was canonically going senile from trying to contain 25,000 years of knowledge. But then he ate the Conflux and may have gotten a bunch of power back?

Look, it's been literally almost a year. That's way too long to hold hopes out for updates for an unfunded imaginary choice game.

The point I'm making is that you can literally walk up to the font of immortality now, and take something far better than what's banned. There are plenty of endgoals in other settings which aren't locked off, and I frankly have significant doubts it's actual true immortality when it's theoretically possible to buy the Cider and then go Seeking. Nah, that's just a gameplay abstraction. In the stories it gave Liliana enough power to temporarily 1v1 an Eldrazi and to stomp ancient demons who own her soul and were before way more powerful than her, but it has an entire race of evil spirits sealed in it and is probably slowly corrupting/killing her or driving her insane. It's also implied to he the reason that Nixilis is a demon.

MegaCorp you're doing TMNT (2011)? That's cool. My suggestions would be:

1.) Psychic Powers, only April has them and currently she's burnt out so she's not as powerful she once was. Still it'd be nice to have Psychic ninja powers.

2.) David Tennbot as a companion! Having a robot pal with questionable sanity would be cool.

3.) Ability to summon & control or be a Demon-Dragon. This is the current & last season's main thing is doing Mystical stuff. They got the Joker-Demon-Dragon-Luke (Mark Hamil playing as Mark Hamil joking! ) stuff going on.

4.) Multiverse portal so we can go to every Animated Turtle media. Which they've confirmed all exist in same Multiverse.

Not all, but the gameplay abstractions do lead to odd power things, like a squirrel being able to take down a grown man, or a soldier, or a (weak) vampire, or fifteen of them taking on Emrakul, when in the setting they'd probably be normal squirrels.

That said there are things like the veil that are incredibly powerful in the setting that don't seem as powerful in the game - see the Eldrazi being killed by squirrels again. I think the dragons and many demons would be tougher than their cards indicate - particularly powerful dragons being noted to go up against armies at time, wereas the game would allow a handful of farmers to kill one.

In short, treat the threats as they seem to be, not as the cards depict them, and if something seems to be a legendary artifact assume it's pretty cool.

Depends on the setting and what the unique powers are. If the unique powers are say, a reflection of yourself or in some way deeply personal, I generally think freeform with guidelines and active support is the best way to do it. Stuff like Stands or Zanpakutou, just feels weird and wrong to not make something that fits you.

If it's not so personalised, like by random chance or people seeking those powers out or having them given to them, then I think a list of powers to choose from is best. I've usually gone for just canon stuff but OC stuff, long as you can do it well, can work just as well. A mix is probably best, though I'd say OC stuff should never outshine the canon stuff you offer unless you're reaaaally short on options (Though one questions why you're doing powers in the first place then).

Build a Powers can be super complicated to do. Akame ga Kill I think is my favourite but even that's more of a mix of straight powers and altering effects.

I'd have to suggest Ar Tonelico if you're going for raw power. If you want something low danger, VA-11 HALL-A is an easy choice. There's also FLCL if you want something in between. I mean, it's technically a robot alt-form, but you're an AI inside it.

Also, FLCL has Plug and Play, which is good for transferring your mind between non-sentient robotic bodies.

Well, yeah. That's the needless complexity expected of Sburb inventory systems.

But you shoot stuff out of the stacks, with the different arrays giving you options.

Just fill one entire array with, say, knifes and another with rocks or something. Now you can just shoot knives or rocks, depending on what array you access.

No, no, it's actually quite intuitive. Any time you add a card to any of the questacks, it causes the card on the other end to be ejected forcefully from the array. So you just have to shuffle things around your inventory from one questack to another, pretty simple, really. At least, to use it as a weapon. To use it as an actual inventory is a nightmare to try to keep track of, you're right on that account. But it's just not SBURB without stupid inventory management systems.

I was exaggerating a little, but considering Forgotten Realms was 130 years ago, I've long ago hit Epic Levels high enough to make even a few deities sit up and take notice, not by much. Admittedly, I'm not as powerful as I could have been if I had been using the magic constantly during that time, but I try to make sure I practice with it in my downtime.

But it helps that I mainly use Shadow Magic, which is pretty combat focused and has some unusual effects and ranges to their spells to start with.

If I wanted to become a God of Fate, what would be some of the best ways of doing that? I don't necessarily need the ability to predestine things, but the ability would be nice. Right now I'm thinking the drop-in line from Percy Jackson, probably pick up Clairvoyance from Railgun, and probably Rider out of Darksiders, but beyond that I'm not sure what would be helpful

also: If I wanted to make minions based on different aspects of Fate(with them drawing from my power or not, that doesn't matter), what would some ways of doing that be?

For a better example of what I was wanting for the second one, it would be like in Fullmetal Alchemist how Father splits off the seven deadly sins from himself, but I don't want to give up the power over that aspect so much as create a minion(or group of) that are focused on that aspect. So from thread input, I have potential companion options for the Overwatch jump in writechain narrowed down to Bastion (who has no purpose left and has PTSD like the Jumper), Mei (a lot of lost time, also I can make the 'I recruited Satan' joke), and Winston (he's a big friendly gorilla who will probably enjoy the science trip, though I imagine he'll be liable to go home after a while).

“God damn it!” The words rang out in the White Room, laced with pain and more than a little anger. My own. I felt hands on my shoulders as my own grasped desperately at my skull. Someone was whispering in my ear, but I can’t hear them over the memories and experiences pouring in. Vivid and demanding, they shoved themselves into my brain, tumbling over other memories along the way and spilling open boxes.

Dozens of other memories tumbled out, each as vivid as the last thirteen years, all struggling for a box of their own. Then a coolness slipped into my mind. A gentle presence was walking among the boxes, tipping them upright, catching the wayward scenes of my life. Where no boxes existed, they made some. When they discovered a memory had stolen the box of another, it gently pulled the invader free and set it in its proper place.

It took a while for my mind to finally sort itself out, even with Raven’s help. The process left me with a mental fatigue that made me want to sleep for three days. The potion Lapis handed me helped considerably, but it would only last so long. I needed sleep. Which meant I probably wouldn’t get it for a while.

"No more Amnesia Drawbacks." I croaked. The others faked laughter.

A few Jumps had notes written next to them about specific Drawbacks that must be taken. That worried me a little.

“Do you think we can do it?” Lapis’ worried voice was understandable. She hadn’t exactly had the best introduction to this whole Jumping nonsense.

“I think so. We’ve got a list, we’ve got all the Documents. We can see what we’re up against and plan for it. In some ways, this is actually better. It’ll be stressful, sure, but we should be okay.”

I just don't like the character archetype. The snooty, stuck up attitude really grates on me and I just can't stand that sense of superiority they all inevitably have. I don't like those kinds of people and real life and I can't stand watching or reading about them in media either.
