Sometimes I'll look up something and find images that approximate the character's look and design, sometimes I'll photoshop something together, just cut and pasting stuff into an image. A few times I've sort of like, gotten a basic person template and poorly sketched in the details myself, not to look good as a picture, but just to give a sort of accurate depiction of their clothes, proportions etc. Recently I actually commissioned art of my current fish-girl character from a friend who does art commissions, which turned out very nice, and I might start commissioning more character art in the future.

Also, sometimes a photo or piece of art will actually inspire a character, and I that's obviously what I use. That can range from an interesting historical photograph to a funny frame of Homer Simpson.

I usually rely on a written description until I've got a comfortable feel for the character. Then I commission art.

Twitter, DeviantArt, and Furaffinity are all fantastic places to commission really good stuff on the cheap from starving art students. If you're smart, you don't need to spend more than 20-40 burger bucks for something really nice. If you're a richfag, you can commission official Paizo artists and shit for a few hundred, way below normal industry rates.

damie_m does some racy stuff, but keeps quiet about it. talbaine too. I'm less sure that they've specifically worked on paizo stuff, but Mithril07 and Wilderling do similar levels of quality and way smuttier art.

The latter two aren't as shy about it - find people like that on twitter and look through their feeds. They're part of big networks of ametuer and pro artists doing smut under aliases, and a lot of them mainly use twitter to announce commission openings.

As someone who wears a 34K I can tell you that wearing a steel boned overbust corset is incredibly limiting on arm mobility. If I were to wear a breastplate of any sort it would severely limit my ability to use a weapon.

Pic related. You can see how the black corset being completely unyielding metal would really fuck up arm movement. Hell even in that pic my arms are kinda forced out to the side, and its only covering like half my tit vertically btw, not really "over"bust proper. S'yeaaah.

I used to, but these days, I tend to stick to descriptions only. Finding artwork that meshes with the setting can be tough, much of the time.

If I can afford it, I might commission someone to doodle something or draw inspiration from a piece of art, but often pictures themselves are a waste of hard drive space and/or printer toner.

I get most of my stuff off of Tumblr, and I follow a sizeable amount of tabletop related blogs so I get a nice selection to the games I play.

I used to draw my own characters, but gave up after:
1) People demanded I draw their character profiles.
2) We had people leaving the games after a month or two of playing and we'd start a new campaign.
3) Slowly lost interest in drawing for the most part.

I should note that this is a game we play whenever there aren't enough people for our regular game, in which dungeons, and initial characters, are randomly determined.

>Karug: Orc Barbarian currently in full plate, except his skull is made from an skull animated with black magic and capable of answering yes/no questions, though it's knowledge is rather limited. He wields a MASSIVE oversized axe (one size category above him), the head of which is made from a crimson-colored, magical volcanic glass.
>Olaf Trätälja: Human barbarian, former lumberjack, wears chain armor, a crimson-and-gold cape, and a golden magical belt. His eyes constantly glow with red fire, due to the fact he is willingly letting a devil inhabit his body, devouring the souls of those he slays. He has an axe made of the same material as Karug's axe, though Olaf's is only medium sized. Finally he has a pet animated object, specifically a fancy ottoman, that he tamed and rides into battle upon.
>Brevel Nightsong, an elvish bard, of the "Masked Elf" variety, with an appearance similar to Jareth from Labyrinth, and a devil-mask similar to Jareth's mask in the masked ball scene. He wears chainmail, that he has covered in sparkling gemstones, an elaborate and beautiful multicolored feather cape, and magical pink ballerina slippers that give him a nice speed bonus, but force him to dance, CONSTANTLY. He wields a purple crystal longsword.
>Abu Khan, Goblin Cloistered Cleric to Tee'za, the God of Unpopular Heroes. Abu wears red robes, a helmet with two blue wings on either side (the holy symbol of Tee'za), and wields a magical crossbow and a large collection of bronze daggers.

>Zlava Rostanovich, ghoul siege engineer and cleric to Mura Tomi, Goddess of Hearth Magic. He wears a purple and crimson suit, with an orange cape, has pale white skin, clawed hands and feet. He also has a trebuchet.
