Personally I'm excited. Its possible they'll fuck things up but I'm more interested in seeing the world brought to screen rather than a 100% accurate depiction of the story. Although I hope they do a good job of depicting just how crazy channelers are compared to your typical wizard (i.e. no magic words, multiple spells at once, waving their hands and killing 50 people, later in the series teleprting around at will)

I will say Jordan did a good job developing Aiel culture, so that's one thing I can't complain about.

- all mages (nobody calls them Aes Sedai, too hard for viewers) are women. Powerful women who need no man.

To be fair, this is the first time that they've announced a production company besides just Red Eagle Entertainment to be attached to the series.

realistically, you could safely cut out about 40% of the books without losing much. figure 50-60% stretching it to cover enough plot points to not disappoint the core audience too much while still streamlining it and you still have 7 books worth of material, meaning at least 7 seasons if you want to cover it safely.

Nah, I was already having those feelings. Reading the series just helped me realize it wasn't just a phase for me and that it was normal. Or at least normal enough that there were characters doing stuff like that in popular books.

I love the initial flight from the Three Rivers and the gang's visit to Shienar in book 1. It's especially funny im hindsight seeing how a quirk of linguistics and Moiraine's fashion sense started the trend of Rand being treated as if he had power, which lead inexorably to Tarmon Gaidon.
