I'd probably make a DSP-tier monster class.
It depends on the type though. Unlike, say, different Skeletons, there's a pretty big difference between a Frost Giant and a Storm Giant.

Unearthed Arcana, or was it Arcana Unearthed, had a playable giant race, might do something like that but expanded.

Have them start Medium with Powerful Build, they can take levels in a Giant class to get bigger and stronger, maybe an option partway through to manifest abilities according to specific types of giants.

Open your copy of the Advanced Race Guide. Realise that Reach is an advanced trait, therefore you need to have a budget of > 10 RP, but if you want it to be playable out of the box, you probably need to stay as close to 11 as you can. Dwarves are 11 RP so you SHOULD be fine at 11.

Type: Humanoid (Giant)
Size: Large (7 RP)
Speed: Normal Speed
Ability Scores: Specialized (+2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Wis, 1 RP), together with size mods the array adds up to +4 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 Wis
Languages: either Standard or Xenophobic
Advanced Traits: Reach (1 RP)

We're at 9 RP. Pick 2 RP of flavorful shit and you're done. Healthy? Mountain-born + Plagueborn? Unnatural? Carrion Sense + Plagueborn? Stoneseer? Stonecunning + Stonesinger? Gatecrasher? Whatever strikes your fancy.

They moved from "dark&edgy" towards "look at how progressive we are", though a bit of that was always there.

How good is their newest Adventure Path, the Lovecraftian one? That certainly offers a lot of room for similiar themes.
>>
>>52801560

Paizo drank the kool-aid and decided they would play it family friendly and fan safe after 3.5e got scoured by the news.

It started as early as Second Darkness, though I'd also make the argument that they only truly fell from grace after making Jade Regent.
>>
>>52801560

They got criticized by some Turbo-sjws and have been apologizing ever since with all of their adventures becoming lukewarm, with a swift death replacing any forms of torture, rape or anything approaching nausea for the reader.

They're too afraid to write out real villains anymore. Most of the worst things their villains have done are merely implied now, and left to the table's GM to use his/her imagination for. An easy out for the company.

I don't recall rape coming up at all in any modules explicitly. There is one istance where a Lust Spawn in Godsmouth Heresy will try to drag away any K.O/Killed PC to "have it's way with before killing and consuming".

In the first sentence.

"A splash weapon is a ranged weapon that breaks on impact, splashing or scattering its contents over its target and nearby creatures or objects. "

>Breaks on impact

>Midair impact
>>
>>52801875
But you don't deny the first?

Succbed and LG Paladin are confirmed picks?
>>
>>52801889
I dunno about the LG Paladin. It's either Guarenteed or Guarenteed Out, it honestly depends on how funny Maximum Sleep finds the idea of Maximum Moralfag tagging along with such nice people as the Universal Waterbed, AWAKEN MY MASTERS, Undead, and A God I Am.
>>
>>52801648
>I don't recall rape coming up at all in any modules explicitly.

Eh, one of the Characters in Skull and Shackles has rape in her backstory. The Hook-Handed female Wizard what works for Harrigan, I don't remember her name. But the PCs are unlikely to ever remember that.
I think there was a second enemy caster with rape in their backstory in Shackles, but I'm less certain about that one. The one with a tattoo map on her back.

And finally, in Jade you encounter a room where there are Ulfen 'having their way with a thrall'.
Thralls are slaves and are expected to help the PCs during the combat, so it's probably a safe bet to say it was rape.
>>
>>52801945
I remember. Tatoo-magus girl. She got her teeth ripped out by a pirate to "make herself more useful" when she was a slave girl.

She then charmed some sahugin and gets fucked by them on the regular.
>>
>>52801945
The trick is that "having their way" can technically mean any number of things, from rape to beating to forced tickling to just bullying.

Compare that to Thistletop in RotRL, where the bugbear is explicitly described as surrounded by a goblin harem he was just fucking and even has a "heavy club" as a weapon.
>>
>>52801888

A flimsy flavor limitation that can be overcome by explaining how your alchemist's bombs (or whatnot) can, at the moment of being prepared, be rigged as air burst explosives.

Fireballs seem perfectly capable of targeting a midair grid intersection.

I'm trying to build an infiltrator that could possibly walk into a room and try to take out as many foes as possible in a first surprise round.

DM ruling: finesse weapons can just be used with DEX, no feat required.

I realize this has a very limited Arcane Pool

Half Elf, 25 point buy

STR: 10 DEX: 14 CON: 12 INT: 19 WIS: 10 CHA: 14

Traits:
Magical Knack, Extremely Fashionable (Bluff), Carefully Hidden, Umbral Unmasking

1. Alchemist 1, Vivisectionist (Mindchemist?)
Mutagen, Brew Potion, Sneak Attack 1d6, Alchemy, Skill Focus: Bluff (possibly disguise for Rakshasa Eldritch Heritage)

2. Wizard 1, Exploiter Wizard, Elf favored class bonus Admixture, Arcane Pool of 3/4
Potent Magic

3. Wizard 2, 1 use of Versatile Evocation, Arcane Pool of 4/5
Accomplished Sneak Attacker (2d6)

4. Wizard 3, Arcane Pool of 4/6
INT: 20

5. Wizard 4 (2 uses of Versatile Evocation, Arcane Pool of 5/7)
Spell Specialization (Fiery Shuriken: 1 more possible sneak attack per round)

6. Wizard 5, Arcane Pool of 5/8
Rime Spell, Familiar

7. Sleepless Detective 1
Additional Traits: Student of Philosophy, Reactionary (?)
Sneak Attack (3d6), Canny Sleuth, Forensic Thaumaturgy

8. Arcane Trickster 1-10

Future Feats:
School Understanding (Admixture)
Spell Perfection
Quicken Spell
Dimensional Slide?
Heighten Spell?
Improved Spell Spezialization?
Bloodline Development?
Eldritch Heritage?
Empower Spell (DM has stated that if enemies can save for half the sneak attack damage from Surprise Spells, then empower spell can increase the sneak attack damage as well)

Thoughts?

Would it be better just straight up as Evocation School Wizard (Admixture)?

Fireball: "You point your finger and determine the range (distance and height) at which the fireball is to burst. A glowing, pea-sized bead streaks from the pointing digit and, unless it impacts upon a material body or solid barrier prior to attaining the prescribed range, blossoms into the fireball at that point. An early impact results in an early detonation. "

So if fireball hits something first, then yeah it goes boom. Alchemist fire isn't magical. If you're rigging it to explode first, and can explain to the DM exactly how, then I don't see why not.
>>
>>52801945

Shackles is full of rape or rape victims, the cabin girl Harrigan uses in Book 1 is a 13 year old girl, there's the tattoo chick that was raped as a teen and became the exotic cocksleeve of Deep Ones, and then you have that one girl in the tavern scene of... I think Book 3 that explicitly panics when she sees someone because it triggers her memories as a sex slave as a teenager.

Lots of underage rape going on in that AP.

In the adventure "The Harrowing," there is an area that has been sealed off in a timeless stasis for many thousands of years.

That area contains a 19th-century-style carnival, replete with unicycles (which were invented in the 19th century). And if there is the technology for unicycles, there must be the technology for bicycles as well.

As far as I am aware, Golarion in the present has no unicycles or bicycles, which means that Azlant and Thassilon were more advanced than present-day Golarion even with purely mundane technology.
>>
>>52802609
And I think you're underestimating Golarion a great deal. The setting is still a great deal more advanced than you're average medieval setting and I'm not just talking about Alkenstar.
>Arcane Wonders
Alchemical Items and people of the alchemist profession are incredibly fucking common though.
>bachelors snuff
Still wouldn't protect you against disease.
>>
>>52802616
>Also healing spells.

Growing back your dick is a very hefty healing spell, one most Clerics won't know. You gotta be what, level 13 to cast Regenerate? Most people at that level are the leaders of a kingdom's church, not going town to town healing dicks.

>>52802640
>Still wouldn't protect you against disease.

That's why you do a little thing I like to call, "don't stick your dick in strange women." It's very useful, especially for Adventurers!

>>52802632

And that's why I'm not denying there are abortion drugs and/or contraceptives (Night Tea and Bachelor's Snuff are the most famous examples.)
>>
>>52802659
Then why do condoms break your suspension of disbelief the fucking Ancient Romans had them and with all the wonders mundane(as in no magic involved) alchemy can pull, it's not that big of a stretch to say that condoms exist on Golarion.
>>
>>52802609
If you want to fuck a girl safe and easy, you'll just TELL her you're on bachelor's snuff and be out of town before she realizes she's 8 months late.

I never said go for the smart ones!
>>
>>52802677
Probably the same reason crossbows not being the BCE models breaks their suspension of disbelief, or cannons being around at the same time as full plate breaks their suspension of disbelief.

>>

>>
>>52802677

Condoms break my suspension of disbelief if they're some common thing you could pick up at the local herbalist. Those things should be rare and regional, where you order them from an alchemist or apothecary in a reasonably sized town.

Kintargo should have condoms, but Sandpoint should not.

>>52802729

This is why I'm still butt-blasted that fantasy settings don't actually ever try to immerse themselves in the 16th century. They pick and choose like ninny-heads.

>>52802819

I'm beginning to think the gilded teeth you get from constant Bachelor's Snuff usage might be seen as a desirable quality now, like you're some sort of Don Juan. Because let's face it, sex is simply better for both parties when you don't need a condom and can finish inside, I'm sure women might see a man who can provide that experience as a quality time on a lonely night.
>>
>>52802843
It honestly depends on what they were made of
I mean, it's not like Juniper and wormwood would've been THAT expensive as a one-off depending where you lived, but a well-preserved intestine can last for ages and might well be basically free if you herd.

>>
>>52802863

Modern ultra-thin condoms are still inferior to bareback, I can't imagine how shitty an experience it would be for the man and woman if you wrapped it up in a sheep's intestine. I mean, it's still better than just going solo, but there's a reason those herbs (that were harvested to extinction, mind you) were so popular.

>>52802896

Hey, someone's gotta be the easy girl, and barmaids (especially around the places where strangers come and go) who have access to exotic hunks they'll likely never see again tend to pick-and-choose.

There's a reason why nobles didn't use that shit. I mean, beyond the fact that having 20 kids was more or less a huge mark of prestige for a woman.

Yup, and the chariot races attracted fans who would often go out and trash the city if their favorite team won or lost.

It got so bad that Justinian, Emperor of the Eastern Roman Empire, nearly lost his diadem after a game of the Blues and Greens turned political (the Nika Riots.) Of course, Justinian didn't flee Constantinople when this happened after Theodora professed her intention to stay (something about preferring to be a pretty corpse than a shabby exile), and Justinian quelled the revolt like any level-headed ruler.

By tricking the rioters into the Hippodrome and slaughtering all twenty thousand of them.

So I'm playing MAXIMUM KNOWLEDGE as the following in a Gestalt game, beginning at 4th level.

>Inquisitor 2/Minchemist 2 || Disciple of the Pike 4 VMC Bard

I'm an middle aged Elf and have 18 Int and 16 Wisdom for tis, with my cognatogen I boost this to 22 Int. What I'm looking at when identifying monsters is the following:

>4 (ranks)
>3 (class skill)
>6 (int)
>6 (int again because mind chemist)
>2 (breadth of experience)
>2 (bardic knowledge)
>2 (illuminating touch)
>2 (aura of enlightenment)
>3 (monster lore)
>2 (disciple of the pike)

Total: +32(+24 w/o resources spent) for identifying monsters, +27(19 w/o resources spent) for everything else

I can boost this to +40 by casting Know the Enemy, but only for identifying monsters.

Not quite, the Gods do actually check up to see if their casual followers are keeping up with their teachings - after all, it only takes one successful heretic to start a trend, even if that heretic's a Barbarian.

Punishment for these transgressions tend to vary depending on the deity you worship. Shelyn for example curses you with seeing the faces of those you hurt or betrayed everywhere you go, whispers of your misdeeds haunting your every step until you either leave her church or seek forgiveness. Irori would probably cloud your mind, lock up your joints and leave you unable to focus.

Since the Sparrow's Path legendary talent is somewhat shabby, would the following (homebrew) legendary talent be a good way to allow Spheres of Might melee martials to reliably attack fliers?

Gravitic Thrust
Prerequisites: Equipment sphere
You channel the world's gravity to smite a foe above you. For the purpose of your melee reach (even for your threatened area), treat any enemies vertically above you as if they were at the same vertical altitude as you. This does not apply to enemies vertically above you by more than 20 times your HD in feet. In environments without gravity, you treat all directions as vertically above you. This is a supernatural ability.

I'm going to try DMing a campaign for 3.5 edition D&D I've been working on the last few weeks. It's my second time DMing ever, and I was curious to how much I can lay the rules if I wish to have a certain event happen?

In particular, I want a series of spells to trap players in an extra dimensional space where their life-force is altered. There's no spells that would do what I want that are in the game, the life force altering part at least. It'll make it so instead of having their collective HD per character, each character only gets one of their HD at a time, but still have a total of HD equal to their level. So if John the Rogue has 6d6+1 for HD, then he has 7 HP at a time, for 6 total loses before he would die. Each time the players lose a single HD, their highest two ability scores drop by 1. Their scores can be regained, along with hit dice, but for every potion or spell they may use, each player may never restore HP over a HD per use. So a potion of cure serious, no matter what, would only give John one set of 7 HP and a one point increase to their weakened abilities per potion. Same for other spells and abilities. I'll then have them fighting weaker monsters than their used to, but they'll be more dangerous. And in the end, I'll have them face their own party at 5th level (they'll be 8th for this). If they lose, or die (lose all hit dice), the player or players will regain full health and abilities, but will drop one xp below their current level, and lose everything with that, permanently. This can keep happening until they lose all their levels (die). The only way the party can leave is by defeating themselves or dying.

I was thinking someone sets spell traps an item the characters are searching for or traps an area the players enter to cause this. It'll be a DC 25 Will save to negate the effects or else be transported. But does this seem unfair or OP? I was really just trying to create a challenge by introducing a new mechanic instead of a new monster.
>>
>>52804877
Eh, if you're going to start having people mess with local gravity, it would be better to let them Devil May Cry rocket jump to an enemy and land safely. You know, like an aerial charge.

That gravity weirdness would be easier to parse as an Equipment trick if it dropped a flier down to earth, instead. Much simpler, more flexible, less confusing to visualize.

Why not be a half-orc and fully-progress Inquisitor on one side, in place of Cavalier levels?

Taking Half-Orc Inquisitor's favored class bonus every level is basically 1/2 class level to identifying monsters and Intimidate, same thing you're getting from Disciple of the Pike Cavalier. You have an uninterrupted spell progression, and the Bane/Greater Bane class features which are absolutely perfect for a monster-knower character (be sure to get that Bane Baldric too, for Greater Bane at level 7).

The if possible, you could reach Cavalier 4 in 2 levels, without falling behind in Inquisitor. Inquisitor which can have its own hunting-like archetype like Sanctified Slayer or Sacred Huntsmaster, to really emphasize how much your character studies and adapts to his enemies at the starts of fights for advantages.

Also the places you go in an AP are often places that, at one point or another, are placed in peril. Not exactly the kind of place where you'd want to populate with kids. Even the goblin in the closet encounter in RotJR comes with a warning about toning down the content.
>>
>>52805170
>and they all have a massive interspecies/pregnancy fetish

That's going a few steps too far from the reality of Silver/Humanoid interactions, anon! Silver Dragons greatly admire Humanity and enjoy spending decades or even centuries in human forms to learn, teach or even love Humans, but it's not due to some innate desire to bear humanoid children, it's because Silvers are huge dorks for law and order, and Humanoids follow law and order more than most dragon types.

Silvers assuming the form of squires or courtiers just makes me think of Dunk and Egg, or Game of Thrones in general with the Targaryens.

>it would be better to let them Devil May Cry rocket jump to an enemy and land safely

Perhaps two different talents could be offered to solve flyer-related woes without actually trivializing ground-based obstacles:

Gravitic Thrust
Prerequisites: Equipment sphere
You channel the world's gravity to smite a foe above you. For the purpose of your melee reach (even for your threatened area), treat any enemies vertically above you as if they were at the same vertical altitude as you. This does not apply to enemies vertically above you by more than 20 times your HD in feet. In environments without gravity, you treat all directions as vertically above you. This is a supernatural ability.

Split the Sky (leap)
Prerequisites: Athletic sphere
Once per turn (not round), as a free action even when it is not your turn, if you are on a surface that can support you, you can jump directly vertically upwards a number of feet equal to 20 times your Acrobatics ranks. This jump does not provoke attacks of opportunity, and at the end of the turn, you fall safely without provoking attacks of opportunity. You cannot move otherwise while you are airborne this way. You cannot begin the jump so as to avoid an attack or any hostile effect, but you can begin the jump so as to make an attack of opportunity against an airborne enemy.
>>
>>52805215
I meant from the point of view of the author, not necessarily in-setting. If you know that the hobgoblin army is going to ransack this little hamlet in book 3, you're probably not going to try to ignore the fact that there are children there as much as possible to self-sanitize the later catastrophe. In most media the existence of children in the doomed village is almost always given attention only to serve as an extra gut-punch for the tragedy.
>>
>>52805071
I hate that all this great monster-hunting material is tied to Inquisitor fluff, since it's the only class that does "fighty monster expert" in a way that actually uses it effectively.

I mostly play in games that allow refluffing, where you have a character and their abilities are described by the powers and features they have, but plenty of games will make you be this stupid religious persecuter instead, which barely even fits the fucking feature set.
>>
>>52805290

This has less to do with Paizo being deeply uncomfortable about children (which they are, to a degree) and way more to do with Paizo being a very boring and safe company that tries to ride the waves of social opinion by making sure their product is edgy enough to attract people, but not daring enough to directly imply kids might die.

Their last product to include children (children that are thrown into peril, at that) was Reign of Winter, with Nadya's little daughter and twin sons.
>>
>>52805290
But Good-aligned parties should be MORE compelled to save the village if it has children. Sure, they'd still save a village of childless spinsters and louts, but it doesn't feel as heroic. In fact, it feels like the village would have collapsed in one generation anyway as the reproductive population became too old to sustain things anymore.
>>
>>52805342
>In fact, it feels like the village would have collapsed in one generation anyway as the reproductive population became too old to sustain things anymore.

>>
>>52805389
You can be tiefling/aasimar/planestouched of difference races. Paizo has said this for stuff like small sized tiefling/aasimar being halfling ones. So in this case I would be elven by the fact that Pass for Human would give me the right subtype?

Yes, Pass for Human does that. It says you count ass Humanoid (Human) for all purposes.

Aside from the Adopted Social Trait? By RAW no. There isn't. Because Paizo is retarded and you basically have to walk up to your GM and go "hey, can you houserule this?" if you want to have Pass for Human be anything but Human.

>>52805423
Welcome to Pathfinder, where "why the fuck is it like that" is a question we all asked each other on an hourly basis, to the point where we gave up asking because we knew the answer was just "Paizo is a bunch of fucking lazy hacks".

>Being uncomfortable with even including children in something you're writing seems like the height of immaturity.

Paizo is staffed by immature people, the types of people that used to come up with slang names for Halflings that enjoyed laying with Human men, but now refuse to include Halfling/Dwarf love interests in their stories because "it's gross and pedophilic."
>>
>>52805379
>Being uncomfortable with even including children in something you're writing seems like the height of immaturity.
Man, seeing some of the posts on /pfg/ I completely understand why people wouldn't want to involve child characters.

>It also seems like they view Golarion as not a living, breathing world, but instead a series of disconnected events.

It's also possible they just don't want to create a mish-mash metaplot issue like what happened in the old world of darkness. You know, where Saulot was Tremere, Tremere was Goratrix, Goratrix was a mirror, and nobody even knew the gangrel had left or why the ravnos was decimated.
>>
>>52805450
Yeah, seems like it should have been errata'd at the same time they said you could play non-human based planestouched.

I suppose this comes down to a "ask your GM".

I'm asking because I want to take Breadth of Experience as an Elven Tiefling

It literally doesn't have abilities for identifying monsters or adapting to them, so I don't know why you think that it's more of one than, say, Rogue. Through actual class features, Inquisitor gets to be a monster knowledge guru with offensive bonuses that apply based on creature types, and abilities to actually apply varied tactics to different creatures.

A Slayer can put ranks into identifying a creature, and then give himself a one-size-fits-all buff that doesn't have anything to do with it. He could think a dragon was a zombie the whole time and it wouldn't affect anything.

There's children in Rise of the Runelords, there's children in Curse of the Crimson Throne, there's dozens of children in Reign of Winter, three of which are even characters with lines and plot importance.

There's children in Giantslayer and Iron Gods, you're expected to make children in Kingmaker, there's even children all over the Modules.

You only get No Kids in APs written by people who are clearly uncomfortable with children, or regions here having children pop up in the story would be cruel and unnecessary.

People make children, but writers make stories. If the region the story is set in isn't enriched by the presence of children, than children won't get mentioned.

Nadya taking care of her children was useful to establish she's a hard-working mother slowly crumbling under the stress of losing everything she loves to senseless violence. Dragon laying could lead to gaining a powerful ally, having some interesting plot beats, a redemption side quest if they're evil, etc. Hell, even ERP if you and your GM are both into that.

>People talk about Dragonslaying all the time in fantasy RPGs, but what about Dragon laying? Surely its a better option no?
So I have a story about this when my GM attempted to force Dragon Laying on me.

I was playing a Enforcer Paladin with Oath Against the Wyrm, which specifies in its code of conduct to not only attempt to slay Evil dragons, but all Dangerous Dragons and to ensure that other creature's bloodlines do not become tainted by dragon kind, meaning Draconic Sorcerers and Half-Dragons are on the line up. My Paladin was leaning LN and followed his Oath to the letter. My GM seemed to want to include something for me so he had me find a nest of half-dragon basilisks. My character took time out of his down time to go and kill the basilisks (he was level 7 and went alone because the party didn't really care about dragons). What my character did fine however was evidence pointing to where the taint had come from, and that the basilisks were half Brass dragon.

My character came to the determination that any dragon willing to breed with animals and create nests like this was a dangerous to others. My paladin went about tracking it and found the Brass Dragon was an young adult female, by the time my paladin found this out he was level 8. I took more time out of my down time to pin down where the dragon was and found it was in the same direction the party was going. I had discussed plans with the GM to confront the dragon. In my head this had always been synonymous with killing it, but when I got there I realized the GM had a different idea.
>>

I'd love to watch the sunrise through those thighs.
>>
>>52805961
During down time my character left the party for three days to make a hard ride by horseback to where the dragon was staying. He found a brass kobold tribe who were interspaced with half dragons. He demanded a meeting with the dragon herself and was granted one. The meeting took the form of a dinner between he and the dragon, apparently she enjoyed hosting adventurers and wanted to hear stories, my character was mostly business. Apparently brass dragons go into heat during a season and without a proper mate they are compelled to breed with something, this is where the half basilisks came from. My character was horrified and this did nothing but to affirm his suspicions, he had harbored the possibility of somehow convincing or preventing the dragon from breeding but this was beyond his control.

My GM apparently wanted me to "sate the dragon's desires" as a means of keeping her from breeding, my character would never do that however because it would still create half-dragons. I attacked and killed the brass dragon and went back into the kobold clan and killed the half-dragons there. My GM at this point was furious. My character then went to the hoard and confiscated it, distributing an amount to the surviving kobolds for them to support themselves, the rest went to the paladin's church. The kobolds weren't happy about this and demanded I leave. My GM and I got into an argument about my characters actions and he believed I should fall. This was in a side session, the GM retconned it and basically said "yeah that never happened".

So /pfg/, should I have fallen?

Quite literally from the code of conduct for Oath Against the Wyrm:
>Slay evil dragons, as well as other dangerous dragons whether or not they are evil.
>as well as other dangerous dragons whether or not they are evil.

I went there thinking there was a possibility that I could persuade her or stop her. However I learned that the going into heat thing simply happens and the brass dragon can't and won't stop. That was a danger.

> More than that, you sound like you were the kind of player who goes out of his way to interpret paladin code strictures in the most destructive and bloodthirsty ways possible. I hope you've changed since then.

I would have preferred not to kill the good dragon, but the corruption was there and the going into heat thing was true for all the brass half-dragons as well. As I saw it this represented a huge danger because they obviously were willing to breed with non-sapient creatures (Basilisks) and just create highly dangerous creatures that live in the countryside.

For all the crap we give to Vult, he's actually talked about this. Monsters typically have no interest in boning humans, being far more interested in destroying them or eating them. Nightwalkers are the only types of humans they show interest in mating with, and the only reason Bonbon was able to survive the Trolls was due to her template.

I don't have the logs, but I think that was even explicitly mentioned. If she was a normal human girl, it *would* have killed her.
>>
>>52805975
The oath only ADDS to the code of conduct, it doesn't replace it. So the question is whether murdering a good aligned NPC counts as an evil act. I would say that it does, so your Paladin falling absolutely was justified.

That said, the GM never should've put you into that situation in the first place.

More than anything I wanted to follow my code, which has get rid of dangerous dragons no matter the alignment in it. The dragon was not innocent because she created the basilisks, who were a danger to everything near them. The kobolds were more innocent, but represented a danger because they couldn't control their ability to create more monsters like the basilisks.

I don't know how to resolve it in a way that both kept them alive and removed the danger they represented.

And what third way? Because neither I not my paladin saw one, so he defaulted to following through on his oath.

How do I prevent the brass dragon from breeding with just random creatures, as it's shown willingness to do? A nest of half-dragon of basilisks is enormously dangerous to anything that gets near it.

Do I neuter the dragon? Would if I could or had any idea how.

Prevent the breeding season? I was informed that was impossible, and assumed the dragon knew more about their own anatomy than my paladin did (he knew a lot as a dragon slayer, but not enough apparently).

Imprisoning and isolating the dragon during their breeding season might have been an out, but my character doesn't have the ability to do that long term because he travels for both church work and has been sent on a mission at the time, the dragon was him leaving for a few days to take care of something.

Overall I can't see the way to uphold the oath and the code.

>>52806267
See, the thing is if the oath did not explicitly state that the paladin should kill dangerous dragons no matter the alignment and prevent dragons from tainted other's bloodlines it wouldn't be an issue. Two parts of my oath explicitly contradict each other in this case.

Because this seem that Oath against the Wyrm is impossible to uphold long term.

Actually a tiger is only CR 5. Half-dragon Basilisks are 7, and this was a nest, so they're much more dangerous than a tiger.

>The sensible thing to do in your situation would be give the dragon an ultimatum. Either she stops breeding with random animals and we try to find her a long term partner/masturbatory aid.
My character didn't have the time and when he discussed it he was informed that stopping wouldn't happen. He was gone to this dragon as an aside while he was on a mission from the church.

I assume it was Rubio who's using Wylred's art from the Valkryie Profile:Covenant of the Plume.

Wylfred is the protagonist of the game who makes pact with Hel to get vegenace on the Valkyrie who took his father during the war. The game revolves around you overfilling enemies to fill up a sin meter/sacrificing allies with a super power boost to get through encounters.

How villainous he is depends on the players actions and how many allies he sacrificed by end game, but in the beginning he definitely isn't a very sympathetic person.

The "dangerous" part in this was the fact that I learned that the dragon was willing to simply just create a number of half-dragons even with just wild animals and is unable to stop. If creating wild half-dragons just around isn't 'dangerous' I don't know what is.

Also the fact that the basilisks were birthed by the dragon herself, she just left them in the countryside. That's 'dangerous' to what ever town she left them near.

There were some hour from town by foot, that's why my character found them. So around 4 miles away.

The thing is this dragon gave birth to these basilisks then just left them near some town. She has shown a willingness to do this and an inability to stop.

Plus the next part of the oath explicitly tells me to attempt to stop dragons interbreeding with other creatures, that one doesn't have killing attached as a means to stop them, but is still there.
